The initial boundary value problem for a class of scalar nonautonomous conservation laws in 1 space dimension is proved to be well posed and stable with respect to variations in the flux. Targeting applications to traffic, the regularity assumptions on the flow are extended to a merely dependence on time. These results ensure, for instance, the well‐posedness of a class of vehicular traffic models with time‐dependent speed limits. A traffic management problem is then shown to admit an optimal solution.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to show existence of a solution of the Dirichlet problem for a nonlinear generalized Darcy–Forchheimer–Brinkman system in a bounded Lipschitz domain in , with small boundary datum in L2‐based Sobolev spaces. A useful intermediary result is the well‐posedness of the Poisson problem for a generalized Brinkman system in a bounded Lipschitz domain in , with Dirichlet boundary condition and data in L2‐based Sobolev spaces. We obtain this well‐posedness result by showing that the matrix type operator associated with the Poisson problem is an isomorphism. Then, we combine the well‐posedness result from the linear case with a fixed point theorem in order to show the existence of a solution of the Dirichlet problem for the nonlinear generalized Darcy–Forchheimer–Brinkman system. This paper is devoted to the study of the blow‐up phenomena of following nonlinear reaction diffusion equations with Robin boundary conditions: Here, is a bounded convex domain with smooth boundary. With the aid of a differential inequality technique and maximum principles, we establish a blow‐up or non–blow‐up criterion under some appropriate assumptions on the functions f,g,ρ,k, and u0. Moreover, we dedicate an upper bound and a lower bound for the blow‐up time when blowup occurs.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the incompressible combined viscosity and magnetic diffusion magnetohydrodynamic system with Dirichlet boundary condition in a half space of . We establish the asymptotic expansions of this system by multiscale analysis and obtain the horizontal alone viscosity and magnetic diffusion magnetohydrodynamic equations and the boundary layer equations. And then we study the well‐posedness of the 2 equations. At last, we get the vanishing limit when the vertical viscosity and magnetic diffusion coefficient tends to zero.  相似文献

We study the initial boundary value problem for the one‐dimensional Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equation posed in a half line with nonhomogeneous boundary conditions. Through the analysis of the boundary integral operator, and applying the known results of the Cauchy problem of the Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equation posed on the whole line , the initial boundary value problem of the Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equation is shown to be globally well‐posed in Sobolev space for any s >?2. We study the well‐posedness and dynamic behavior for the KdV‐Burgers equation with a force on R . We establish L p ?L q estimates of the evolution , as an application we obtain the local well‐posedness. Then the global well‐posedness follows from a uniform estimate for solutions as t goes to infinity. Next, we prove the asymptotical regularity of solutions in space and by the smoothing effect of . We consider a kinematic dynamo model in a bounded interior simply connected region Ω and in an insulating exterior region . In the so‐called direct problem, the magnetic field B and the electric field E are unknown and are driven by a given incompressible flow field w . After eliminating E , a vector and a scalar potential ansatz for B in the interior and exterior domains, respectively, are applied, leading to a coupled interface problem. We apply a finite element approach in the bounded interior domain Ω, whereas a symmetric boundary element approach in the unbounded exterior domain Ωc is used. We present results on the well‐posedness of the continuous coupled variational formulation, prove the well‐posedness and stability of the semi‐discretized and fully discretized schemes, and provide quasi‐optimal error estimates for the fully discretized scheme. This paper considers the 2‐species chemotaxis‐Stokes system with competitive kinetics under homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions in a 3‐dimensional bounded domain with smooth boundary. Both chemotaxis‐fluid systems and 2‐species chemotaxis systems with competitive terms were studied by many mathematicians. However, there have not been rich results on coupled 2‐species–fluid systems. Recently, global existence and asymptotic stability in the above problem with (u·∇)u in the fluid equation were established in the 2‐dimensional case. The purpose of this paper is to give results for global existence, boundedness, and stabilization of solutions to the above system in the 3‐dimensional case when is sufficiently small.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a suspension bridge equation with memory effects , defined in a bounded domain of . For the suspension bridge equation without memory, there are many classical results. Existing results mainly devoted to existence and uniqueness of a weak solution, energy decay of solution and existence of global attractors. However the existence of global attractors for the suspension bridge equation with memory was no yet considered. This paper contains results on well‐posedness, stability, and long‐time behavior of solutions to a class of plate models subject to damping and source terms given by the product of two nonlinear components [EQUATION1] where Ω is a bounded open set of R n with smooth boundary, γ ,ρ ?0 and are nonlocal functions. The main result states that the dynamical system {S (t )}t ?0 associated with this problem has a compact global attractor. In addition, in the limit case γ  = 0, it is also shown that {S (t )}t ?0 has a finite dimensional global attractor by using an approach on quasi‐stability because of Chueshov–Lasiecka (2010).
