Under a general hypothesis an expanding map T of a Riemannian manifold M is known to preserve a measure equivalent to the Liouville measure on that manifold. As a consequence of this and Birkhoff’s pointwise ergodic theorem, the orbits of almost all points on the manifold are asymptotically distributed with regard to this Liouville measure. Let T be Lipschitz of class τ for some τ in (0,1], let Ω(x) denote the forward orbit closure of x and for a positive real number δ and let E(x0, δ) denote the set of points x in M such that the distance from x0 to Ω is at least δ. Let dim A denote the Hausdorff dimension of the set A. In this paper we prove a result which implies that there is a constant C(T) > 0 such that if τ = 1 and if τ < 1. This gives a quantitative converse to the above asymptotic distribution phenomenon. The result we prove is of sufficient generality that a similar result for expanding hyperbolic rational maps of degree not less than two follows as a special case.  相似文献

Consider a family of smooth immersions F(·,t) : Mn? \mathbbRn+1{F(\cdot,t)\,:\,{M^n\to \mathbb{R}^{n+1}}} of closed hypersurfaces in \mathbbRn+1{\mathbb{R}^{n+1}} moving by the mean curvature flow \frac?F(p,t)?t = -H(p,t)·n(p,t){\frac{\partial F(p,t)}{\partial t} = -H(p,t)\cdot \nu(p,t)}, for t ? [0,T){t\in [0,T)}. We show that at the first singular time of the mean curvature flow, certain subcritical quantities concerning the second fundamental form, for example ò0tòMs\frac|A|n + 2 log (2 + |A|) dmds,{\int_{0}^{t}\int_{M_{s}}\frac{{\vert{\it A}\vert}^{n + 2}}{ log (2 + {\vert{\it A}\vert})}} d\mu ds, blow up. Our result is a log improvement of recent results of Le-Sesum, Xu-Ye-Zhao where the scaling invariant quantities were considered.  相似文献

It has been proved in [1] and [3] that E*, λ*) is an uncountable set. Let X be a metric measure space with an s-regular measure μ. We prove that if A ì X{A\subset X} is r{\varrho} -porous, then dimp(A) £ s-crs{{\rm {dim}_p}(A)\le s-c\varrho^s} where dimp is the packing dimension and c is a positive constant which depends on s and the structure constants of μ. This is an analogue of a well known asymptotically sharp result in Euclidean spaces. We illustrate by an example that the corresponding result is not valid if μ is a doubling measure. However, in the doubling case we find a fixed N ì X{N\subset X} with μ(N) = 0 such that dimp(A) £ dimp(X)-c(log\tfrac1r)-1rt{{\rm {dim}_p}(A)\le{\rm {dim}_p}(X)-c(\log \tfrac1\varrho)^{-1}\varrho^t} for all r{\varrho} -porous sets A ì X\ N{A \subset X{\setminus} N} . Here c and t are constants which depend on the structure constant of μ. Finally, we characterize uniformly porous sets in complete s-regular metric spaces in terms of regular sets by verifying that A is uniformly porous if and only if there is t < s and a t-regular set F such that A ì F{A\subset F} .  相似文献

Recently, Girstmair and Schoissengeier studied the asymptotic behavior of the arithmetic mean of Dedekind sums \frac1j(N) ? 0 £ m < Ngcd(m,N)=1 |S(m,N)|\frac{1}{\varphi(N)} \sum_{\mathop{\mathop{ 0 \le m< N}}\limits_{\gcd(m,N)=1}} \vert S(m,N)\vert , as N → ∞. In this paper we consider the arithmetic mean of weighted differences of Dedekind sums in the form Ah(Q)=\frac1?\fracaq ? FQh(\fracaq) ×?\fracaq ? We show that the limit lim Q→∞ A h (Q) exists and is independent of h.  相似文献

Let R be a prime ring with extended centroid F and let δ be an F-algebraic continuous derivation of R with the associated inner derivation ad(b). We introduce a method for generating (Wx,T(m,s),mx,T(m,s),Mx,T(m,s))(W_{x,T}^{(\mu,\sigma)},m_{x,T}^{(\mu,\sigma)},M_{x,T}^{(\mu,\sigma)}) , where Wx,T(m,s)W_{x,T}^{(\mu,\sigma)} denotes the final value of a Brownian motion starting in x with drift μ and volatility σ at some final time T, mx,T(m,s) = inf0 £ tTWx,t(m,s)m_{x,T}^{(\mu,\sigma)} = {\rm inf}_{0\leq t \leq T}W_{x,t}^{(\mu,\sigma)} and Mx,T(m,s) = sup0 £ tT Wx,t(m,s)M_{x,T}^{(\mu,\sigma)} = {\rm sup}_{0\leq t \leq T} W_{x,t}^{(\mu,\sigma)} . By using the trivariate distribution of (Wx,T(m,s),mx,T(m,s),Mx,T(m,s))(W_{x,T}^{(\mu,\sigma)},m_{x,T}^{(\mu,\sigma)},M_{x,T}^{(\mu,\sigma)}) , we obtain a fast method which is unaffected by the well-known random walk approximation errors. The method is extended to jump-diffusion models. As sample applications we include Monte Carlo pricing methods for European double barrier knock-out calls with continuous reset conditions under both models. The proposed methods feature simple importance sampling techniques for variance reduction.  相似文献

This paper is concerned mainly with the logarithmic Bloch space ℬlog  which consists of those functions f which are analytic in the unit disc \mathbbD{\mathbb{D}} and satisfy sup|z| < 1(1-|z|)log\frac11-|z||f(z)| < ¥\sup_{\vert z\vert <1}(1-\vert z\vert )\log\frac{1}{1-\vert z\vert}\vert f^{\prime}(z)\vert <\infty , and the analytic Besov spaces B p , 1≤p<∞. They are all subspaces of the space VMOA. We study the relation between these spaces, paying special attention to the membership of univalent functions in them. We give explicit examples of:
•  A bounded univalent function in $\bigcup_{p>1}B^{p}$\bigcup_{p>1}B^{p} but not in the logarithmic Bloch space.  相似文献

Erdős and Gallai showed that for any simple graph with n vertices and circumference c it holds that | E(G) | £ \frac12(n - 1)c{{{\mid}{E(G)}{\mid} \leq {\frac{1}{2}}(n - 1)c}}. We extend this theorem to simple binary matroids having no F 7-minor by showing that for such a matroid M with circumference c(M) ≥  3 it holds that | E(M) | £ \frac12r(M)c(M){{{\mid}{E(M)}{\mid} \leq {\frac{1}{2}}r(M)c(M)}}.  相似文献

Let V be a finite dimensional p-adic vector space and let τ be an operator in GL(V). A probability measure μ on V is called τ-decomposable or m ? [(L)\tilde]0(t)\mu\in {\tilde L}_0(\tau) if μ = τ(μ)* ρ for some probability measure ρ on V. Moreover, when τ is contracting, if ρ is infinitely divisible, so is μ, and if ρ is embeddable, so is μ. These two subclasses of [(L)\tilde]0(t){\tilde L}_0(\tau) are denoted by L 0(τ) and L 0 #(τ) respectively. When μ is infinitely divisible τ-decomposable for a contracting τ and has no idempotent factors, then it is τ-semi-selfdecomposable or operator semi-selfdecomposable. In this paper, sequences of decreasing subclasses of the above mentioned three classes, [(L)\tilde]m(t) é Lm(t) é L#m(t), 1 £ m £ ¥{\tilde L}_m(\tau)\supset L_m(\tau) \supset L^\#_m(\tau), 1\le m\le \infty , are introduced and several properties and characterizations are studied. The results obtained here are p-adic vector space versions of those given for probability measures on Euclidean spaces.  相似文献

We investigate the relationships between smooth and strongly smooth points of the unit ball of an order continuous symmetric function space E, and of the unit ball of the space of τ-measurable operators E(M,t){E(\mathcal{M},\tau)} associated to a semifinite von Neumann algebra (M, t){(\mathcal{M}, \tau)}. We prove that x is a smooth point of the unit ball in E(M, t){E(\mathcal{M}, \tau)} if and only if the decreasing rearrangement μ(x) of the operator x is a smooth point of the unit ball in E, and either μ(∞; f) = 0, for the function f ? SE×{f\in S_{E^{\times}}} supporting μ(x), or s(x *) = 1. Under the assumption that the trace τ on M{\mathcal{M}} is σ-finite, we show that x is strongly smooth point of the unit ball in E(M, t){E(\mathcal{M}, \tau)} if and only if its decreasing rearrangement μ(x) is a strongly smooth point of the unit ball in E. Consequently, for a symmetric function space E, we obtain corresponding relations between smoothness or strong smoothness of the function f and its decreasing rearrangement μ(f). Finally, under suitable assumptions, we state results relating the global properties such as smoothness and Fréchet smoothness of the spaces E and E(M,t){E(\mathcal{M},\tau)}.  相似文献

We establish uniform estimates for order statistics: Given a sequence of independent identically distributed random variables ξ 1, … , ξ n and a vector of scalars x = (x 1, … , x n ), and 1 ≤ k ≤ n, we provide estimates for \mathbb E   k-min1 £ in |xixi|{\mathbb E \, \, k-{\rm min}_{1\leq i\leq n} |x_{i}\xi _{i}|} and \mathbb E k-max1 £ in|xixi|{\mathbb E\,k-{\rm max}_{1\leq i\leq n}|x_{i}\xi_{i}|} in terms of the values k and the Orlicz norm ||yx||M{\|y_x\|_M} of the vector y x  = (1/x 1, … , 1/x n ). Here M(t) is the appropriate Orlicz function associated with the distribution function of the random variable |ξ 1|, G(t) = \mathbb P ({ |x1| £ t}){G(t) =\mathbb P \left(\left\{ |\xi_1| \leq t\right\}\right)}. For example, if ξ 1 is the standard N(0, 1) Gaussian random variable, then G(t) = ?{\tfrac2p}ò0t e-\fracs22ds {G(t)= \sqrt{\tfrac{2}{\pi}}\int_{0}^t e^{-\frac{s^{2}}{2}}ds }  and M(s)=?{\tfrac2p}ò0se-\frac12t2dt{M(s)=\sqrt{\tfrac{2}{\pi}}\int_{0}^{s}e^{-\frac{1}{2t^{2}}}dt}. We would like to emphasize that our estimates do not depend on the length n of the sequence.  相似文献

Let M be a smooth manifold and V a Euclidean space. Let [`(\textEmb)] \overline{{{\text{Emb}}}} (M,V) be the homotopy fiber of the map Emb(M,V) → Imm(M,V). This paper is about the rational homology of [`(\textEmb)] \overline{{{\text{Emb}}}} (M,V). We study it by applying embedding calculus and orthogonal calculus to the bifunctor (M,V)↦ HQ ∧ [`(\textEmb)] \overline{{{\text{Emb}}}} (M,V)+. Our main theorem states that if

Let H be a multigraph, possibly containing loops. An H-subdivision is any simple graph obtained by replacing the edges of H with paths of arbitrary length. Let H be an arbitrary multigraph of order k, size m, n 0(H) isolated vertices and n 1(H) vertices of degree one. In Gould and Whalen (Graphs Comb. 23:165–182, 2007) it was shown that if G is a simple graph of order n containing an H-subdivision H{\mathcal{H}} and d(G) 3 \fracn+m-k+n1(H)+2n0(H)2{\delta(G) \ge \frac{n+m-k+n_1(H)+2n_0(H)}{2}}, then G contains a spanning H-subdivision with the same ground set as H{\mathcal{H}} . As a corollary to this result, the authors were able to obtain Dirac’s famed theorem on hamiltonian graphs; namely that if G is a graph of order n ≥ 3 with d(G) 3 \fracn2{\delta(G)\ge\frac{n}{2}} , then G is hamiltonian. Bondy (J. Comb. Theory Ser. B 11:80–84, 1971) extended Dirac’s theorem by showing that if G satisfied the condition d(G) 3 \fracn2{\delta(G) \ge \frac{n}{2}} then G was either pancyclic or a complete bipartite graph. In this paper, we extend the result from Gould and Whalen (Graphs Comb. 23:165–182, 2007) in a similar manner. An H-subdivision H{\mathcal{H}} in G is 1-extendible if there exists an H-subdivision H*{\mathcal{H}^{*}} with the same ground set as H{\mathcal{H}} and |H*| = |H| + 1{|\mathcal{H}^{*}| = |\mathcal{H}| + 1} . If every H-subdivision in G is 1-extendible, then G is pan-H-linked. We demonstrate that if H is sufficiently dense and G is a graph of large enough order n such that d(G) 3 \fracn+m-k+n1(H)+2n0(H)2{\delta(G) \ge \frac{n+m-k+n_1(H)+2n_0(H)}{2}} , then G is pan-H-linked. This result is sharp.  相似文献
