Let X be a real Banach space and let (f(n)) be a positive nondecreasing sequence. We consider systems of unit vectors (xi)i=1 in X which satisfy ∑iA±xi|A|−f(|A|), for all finite A and for all choices of signs. We identify the spaces which contain such systems for bounded (f(n)) and for all unbounded (f(n)). For arbitrary unbounded (f(n)), we give examples of systems for which [xi] is H.I., and we exhibit systems in all isomorphs of ℓ1 which are not equivalent to the unit vector basis of ℓ1. We also prove that certain lacunary Haar systems in L1 are quasi-greedy basic sequences.  相似文献

Summary Power series f(z) = a izi are considered, where the sequence {a i} forms a homogeneous random process. If the sequence is exchangeable and the variance of the marginal distributions exists, it is proved that r, the random radius of convergence of f(z), takes the values 0 and 1. If the sequence is a second order stationary time series then r=1 with probability 1. If {a i} is a regular denumerable Markov chain, it can be proved that r=c=1 with probability 1, but both c=0 and c=1 can arise. A number of criteria are given for deciding the value of c in this situation.  相似文献

The asymptotic theory of regression with integrated processes of the ARIMA type frequently involves weak convergence to stochastic integrals of the form ∫01 W dW, where W(r) is standard Brownian motion. In multiple regressions and vector autoregressions with vector ARIMA processes, the theory involves weak convergence to matrix stochastic integrals of the form ∫01 B dB′, where B(r) is vector Brownian motion with a non-scalar covariance matrix. This paper studies the weak convergence of sample covariance matrices to ∫01 B dB′ under quite general conditions. The theory is applied to vector autoregressions with integrated processes.  相似文献

The classical method for determination of a simple zeroa of an analytic functionf(z) inside a closed contourC by using the formulaa=(2i)–1 C [zf'(z)/f(z)]dz is reconsidered and modified. The modification consists in using the Cauchy theorem instead of the Cauchy formula and, further, evaluating numericallya as one of the zeros of an appropriate polynomial depending on the quadrature rule used. The case of circular contours with application of the trapezoidal rule is considered in detail and numerical results are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we find all the forms of meromorphic functions f(z) that share the value 0 CM, and share b(z)IM with g(z)=a1(z)f(z)+a2(z)f(z). And a1(z), a2(z) and b(z) (a2(z),b(z)?0) be small functions with respect to f(z). Let S be an operator in a Banach space H and S i (u) (i = 0, 1, ..., uH) be the evolutionary process specified by S. The following problem is considered: for a given point z 0 and a given initial condition a 0, find a correction l such that the trajectory {S i (a 0 + l)} approaches }S i (z 0)} for 0 < in. This problem is reduced to projecting a 0 on the manifold ??(z 0, f (n)) defined in a neighborhood of z 0 and specified by a certain function f (n). In this paper, an iterative method is proposed for the construction of the desired correction u = a 0 + l. The convergence of the method is substantiated, and its efficiency for the blow-up Chafee-Infante equation is verified. A constructive proof of the existence of a locally stable manifold ??(z 0, f) in a neighborhood of a trajectory of hyperbolic type is one of the possible applications of the proposed method. For the points in ??(z 0, f), the value of n can be chosen arbitrarily large.  相似文献

A polynomial projector Π of degree d on is said to preserve homogeneous partial differential equations (HPDE) of degree k if for every and every homogeneous polynomial of degree k, q(z)=∑|α|=kaαzα, there holds the implication: q(D)f=0q(D)Π(f)=0. We prove that a polynomial projector Π preserves HPDE of degree if and only if there are analytic functionals with such that Π is represented in the following form
with some , where uα(z)zα/α!. Moreover, we give an example of polynomial projectors preserving HPDE of degree k (k1) without preserving HPDE of smaller degree. We also give a characterization of Abel–Gontcharoff projectors as the only Birkhoff polynomial projectors that preserve all HPDE.  相似文献

The structure of nontrivial nonnegative solutions to singularly perturbed quasilinear Dirichlet problems of the form –?Δpu = f(u) in Ω, u = 0 on ?Ω, Ω ? R N a bounded smooth domain, is studied as ? → 0+, for a class of nonlinearities f(u) satisfying f(0) = f(z1) = f(z2) = 0 with 0 < z1 < z2, f < 0 in (0, z1), f > 0 in (z1, z2) and f(u)/up–1 = –∞. It is shown that there are many nontrivial nonnegative solutions with spike‐layers. Moreover, the measure of each spike‐layer is estimated as ? → 0+. These results are applied to the study of the structure of positive solutions of the same problems with f changing sign many times in (0,). Uniqueness of a solution with a boundary‐layer and many positive intermediate solutions with spike‐layers are obtained for ? sufficiently small. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. The purpose of this paper is to show that for a certain class of functions f which are analytic in the complex plane possibly minus (−∞, −1], the Abel series f(0) + Σn = 1 f(n)(nβ) z(znβ)n − 1/n! is convergent for all β>0. Its sum is an entire function of exponential type and can be evaluated in terms of f. Furthermore, it is shown that the Abel series of f for small β>0 approximates f uniformly in half-planes of the form Re(z) − 1 + δ, δ>0. In this paper, we present a method that allows one to obtain a number of sharp inequalities for expectations of functions of infinite-degree U-statistics. Using the approach, we prove, in particular, the following result: Let D be the class of functions f :R+R+ such that the function f(x+z)−f(x) is concave in xR+ for all zR+. Then the following estimate holds: for all fD and all U-statistics ∑1i1<<ilnYi1,…,il(Xi1,…,Xil) with nonnegative kernels Yi1,…,il :RlR+, 1ikn; iris, rs; k,r,s=1,…,l; l=0,…,m, in independent r.v.'s X1,…,Xn. Similar inequality holds for sums of decoupled U-statistics. The class D is quite wide and includes all nonnegative twice differentiable functions f such that the function f″(x) is nonincreasing in x>0, and, in particular, the power functions f(x)=xt, 1<t2; the power functions multiplied by logarithm f(x)= (x+x0)t ln(x+x0), 1<t<2, x0max(e(3t2−6t+2)/(t(t−1)(2−t)),1); and the entropy-type functions f(x)=(x+x0)ln(x+x0), x01. As an application of the results, we determine the best constants in Burkholder–Rosenthal-type inequalities for sums of U-statistics and prove new decoupling inequalities for those objects. The results obtained in the paper are, to our knowledge, the first known results on the best constants in sharp moment estimates for U-statistics of a general type.  相似文献

We show that Fn/Fn+2 is isomorphic to the level 0 extremal weight module V(n1−Λ0)). Using this we give a functional realization of the completion of Vi)V(−Λj) by the filtration (Fn)n≥0. The subspace of Vi)V(−Λj) of -weight m is mapped to a certain space of sequences (Pn,l)n≥0,nijmod2,n−2l=m, whose members Pn,l=Pn,l(X1,…,Xlz1,…,zn) are symmetric polynomials in Xa and symmetric Laurent polynomials in zk, with additional constraints. When the parameter q is specialized to , this construction settles a conjecture which arose in the study of form factors in integrable field theory.  相似文献
