Any idempotent element e of an (associative) algebra T defines an algebra A=eTe with unit e. We show that the morphism which compares their Hochschild cohomology algebras is a Gerstenhaber algebras morphism. Moreover, this morphism factorizes through the cohomological algebras of many triangular algebras. To cite this article: B. Bendiffalah, D. Guin, C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 342 (2006).  相似文献

A hom-associative algebra is an algebra whose associativity is twisted by an algebra homomorphism. We show that the Hochschild type cochain complex of a hom-associative algebra carries a homotopy G-algebra structure. As a consequence, we get a Gerstenhaber algebra structure on the cohomology of a hom-associative algebra. We also find similar results for hom-dialgebras.  相似文献

Given any (commutative) field k and any iterated Ore extension R=k[X1][X222][XNNN] satisfying some suitable assumptions, we construct the so-called “Derivative-Elimination Algorithm.” It consists of a sequence of changes of variables inside the division ring F=Fract(R), starting with the indeterminates (X1,…,XN) and terminating with new variables (T1,…,TN). These new variables generate some quantum-affine space such that . This algorithm induces a natural embedding which satisfies the following property:

. We study both the derivative-elimination algorithm and natural embedding and use them to produce, for the general case, a (common) proof of the “quantum Gelfand–Kirillov” property for the prime homomorphic images of the following quantum algebras: , (wW), Rq[G] (where G denotes any complex, semi-simple, connected, simply connected Lie group with associated Lie algebra and Weyl group W), quantum matrices algebras, quantum Weyl algebras and quantum Euclidean (respectively symplectic) spaces. Another application will be given in [G. Cauchon, J. Algebra, to appear]: In the general case, the prime spectrum of any quantum matrices algebra satisfies the normal separation property.  相似文献

We show that the André-Quillen cohomology of an E simplicial algebra with arbitrary coefficients and the topological André-Quillen cohomology of an E ring spectrum with Eilenberg-Mac Lane coefficients may be calculated as the André-Quillen cohomology of an associated E differential graded algebra.  相似文献

Fix a prime p. Given a finite group G, let H(G) denote its mod p cohomology. In the early 1990s, Henn, Lannes, and Schwartz introduced two invariants d0(G) and d1(G) of H(G) viewed as a module over the mod p Steenrod algebra. They showed that, in a precise sense, H(G) is respectively detected and determined by Hd(CG(V)) for d?d0(G) and d?d1(G), with V running through the elementary abelian p-subgroups of G.The main goal of this paper is to study how to calculate these invariants. We find that a critical role is played by the image of the restriction of H(G) to H(C), where C is the maximal central elementary abelian p-subgroup of G. A measure of this is the top degree e(G) of the finite dimensional Hopf algebra H(C)H(G)Fp, a number that tends to be quite easy to calculate. Our results are complete when G has a p-Sylow subgroup P in which every element of order p is central. Using the Benson-Carlson duality, we show that in this case, d0(G)=d0(P)=e(P), and a similar exact formula holds for d1. As a bonus, we learn that He(G)(P) contains nontrivial essential cohomology, reproving and sharpening a theorem of Adem and Karagueuzian. In general, we are able to show that d0(G)?max{e(CG(V))|V<G} if certain cases of Benson's Regularity Conjecture hold. In particular, this inequality holds for all groups such that the difference between the p-rank of G and the depth of H(G) is at most 2. When we look at examples with p=2, we learn that d0(G)?14 for all groups with 2-Sylow subgroup of order up to 64, with equality realized when G=SU(3,4).En route we study two objects of independent interest. If C is any central elementary abelian p-subgroup of G, then H(G) is an H(C)-comodule, and we prove that the subalgebra of H(C)-primitives is always Noetherian of Krull dimension equal to the p-rank of G minus the p-rank of C. If the depth of H(G) equals the rank of Z(G), we show that the depth essential cohomology of G is nonzero (reproving and extending a theorem of Green), and Cohen-Macauley in a certain sense, and prove related structural results.  相似文献

We study the cohomology of Deligne-Lusztig varieties with aim the construction of actions of Hecke algebras on such cohomologies, as predicted by the conjectures of Broué, Malle and Michel ultimately aimed at providing an explicit version of the abelian defect conjecture. We develop the theory for varieties associated to elements of the braid monoid and partial compactifications of them. We are able to compute the cohomology of varieties associated to (possibly twisted) rank 2 groups and powers of the longest element w0 (some indeterminacies remain for G2). We use this to construct Hecke algebra actions on the cohomology of varieties associated to w0 or its square, for groups of arbitrary rank. In the subsequent work [F. Digne, J. Michel, Endomorphisms of Deligne-Lusztig varieties, Nagoya J. Math. 183 (2006)], we construct actions associated to more general regular elements and we study their traces on cohomology.  相似文献

We introduce a functor from the category of braided spaces into the category of braided Hopf algebras which associates to a braided space V a braided Hopf algebra of planar rooted trees . We show that the Nichols algebra of V is a subquotient of . We construct a Hopf pairing between and , generalising one of the results of [Bull. Sci. Math. 126 (2002) 193-239]. When the braiding of c is given by c(vivj)=qi,jvjvi, we obtain a quantification of the Hopf algebras introduced in [Bull. Sci. Math. 126 (2002) 193-239; 126 (2002) 249-288]. When qi,j=qai,j, with q an indeterminate and (ai,j)i,j the Cartan matrix of a semi-simple Lie algebra , then is a subquotient of . In this case, we construct the crossed product of with a torus and then the Drinfel'd quantum double of this Hopf algebra. We show that is a subquotient of .  相似文献

This paper is concerned by the concept of algebra up to homotopy for a structure defined by two operations . and [,]. An important example of such a structure is the Gerstenhaber algebra (i.e. commutatitve structure with degree 0 and Lie structure with degree ?1). The notion of Gerstenhaber algebra up to homotopy (G algebra) is known: it is a codifferential bicogebra. Here, we give a definition of pre-Gerstenhaber algebra (pre-commutative and pre-Lie) allowing a similar construction for a preG algebra.Given a structure of pre-commutative (Zinbiel) and pre-Lie algebra and working over the corresponding Koszul dual operads, we will give an explicit construction of the associated pre-Gerstenhaber algebra up to homotopy: it is a bicogebra (Leibniz and permutative) equipped with a codifferential which is a coderivation for the two coproducts.  相似文献

We prove that, as Gerstenhaber algebras, the Hochschild cohomology ring of the tensor product of two algebras is isomorphic to the tensor product of the respective Hochschild cohomology rings of these two algebras, when at least one of them is finite dimensional. In case of finite dimensional symmetric algebras, this isomorphism is an isomorphism of Batalin–Vilkovisky algebras. As an application, we explain by examples how to compute the Batalin–Vilkovisky structure, in particular, the Gerstenhaber Lie bracket, over the Hochschild cohomology ring of the group algebra of a finite abelian group.  相似文献

A method for establishing a Gerstenhaber algebra structure on the cohomology of Loday-type algebras is presented. This method is then applied to dendriform dialgebras and three types of trialgebras introduced by Loday and Ronco. Along the way, our results are combined with a result of McClure-Smith to prove an analogue of Deligne’s conjecture for Loday algebras.  相似文献

We show that the category of N-complexes is monoidally equivalent to the category of comodules over a well chosen Hopf algebra. This generalizes Pareigis' previous result for N=2. To cite this article: J. Bichon, C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 337 (2003).  相似文献

We prove Tsygan's formality conjecture for Hochschild chains of the algebra of functions on an arbitrary smooth manifold M using the Fedosov resolutions proposed in math.QA/0307212 and the formality quasi-isomorphism for Hochschild chains of R[[y1,...,yd]] proposed in paper math.QA/0010321 by Shoikhet. This result allows us to describe traces on the quantum algebra of functions on an arbitrary Poisson manifold.  相似文献

Given a Hopf algebra A, there exist various cohomology theories for the category of Hopf bimodules over A, introduced by Gerstenhaber and Schack, and by Ospel. We prove, when all the spaces involved are finite dimensional, that they are all equal to the Ext functor on the module category of an associative algebra X associated to A, as described by Cibils and Rosso. We also give an expression for a cup-product in the cohomology defined by Ospel, and prove that it corresponds to the Yoneda product of extensions.  相似文献

Let p be a prime and let G be a finite p-group. In a recent paper (Woodcock, J Pure Appl Algebra 210:193–199, 2007) we introduced a commutative graded ?-algebra R G . This classifies, for each commutative ring R with identity element, the G-invariant commutative R-algebra multiplications on the group algebra R[G] which are cocycles (in fact coboundaries) with respect to the standard “direct sum” multiplication and have the same identity element. Given a directed graph E we describe a method for constructing a Leavitt path algebra LR(E) whose coefficients are in a commutative unital ring R. We prove versions of the Graded Uniqueness Theorem and Cuntz-Krieger Uniqueness Theorem for these Leavitt path algebras, giving proofs that both generalize and simplify the classical results for Leavitt path algebras over fields. We also analyze the ideal structure of LR(E), and we prove that if K is a field, then LK(E)≅KZLZ(E).  相似文献

Let X be a topological space upon which a compact connected Lie group G acts. It is well known that the equivariant cohomology H * G (X; Q) is isomorphic to the subalgebra of Weyl group invariants of the equivariant cohomology H * T (X; Q), where T is a maximal torus of G. This relationship breaks down for coefficient rings k other than Q. Instead, we prove that under a mild condition on k the algebra H * G (X; k) is isomorphic to the subalgebra of H * T (X; k) annihilated by the divided difference operators.  相似文献

Using techniques related to the (C,F)-actions we construct explicitly mixing rank-one (by cubes) actions T of G=Rd1×Zd2 for any pair of non-negative integers d1, d2. It is also shown that h(Tg)=0 for each gG.  相似文献

For any group G, a certain cohomology theory of G-modules is developed. This cohomology arises from the homotopy theory of G-spaces and it is called the “abelian cohomology of G-modules”. Then, as the main results of this paper, natural one-to-one correspondences between elements of the 3rd cohomology groups of G-modules, G-equivariant pointed simply-connected homotopy 3-types and equivalence classes of braided G-graded categorical groups are established. The relationship among all these objects with equivariant quadratic functions between G-modules is also discussed.  相似文献
