We study the weak law of large numbers and the central limit theorem for non-commutative random variables. We first define the concepts of variance and expectation for probability measures on homogeneous spaces, and formulate the weak law of large numbers and the central limit theorem for probability measures on locally compact groups. Then, we consider the non-commutative case, where the homogeneous space is replaced by a C*-algebra that is equipped with a locally compact group G of automorphisms. We define the concepts of variance and expectation in the non-commutative situation. Furthermore, we prove that the weak law of large numbers and the central limit theorem hold for non-commutative random variables on if they hold on the group G of automorphisms.  相似文献

We study the properties of the tvGARCH(1, 1) model (1.8) with logistic coefficients. We obtain conditions for the existence of an L p -bounded solution (p ⩾ 0) of Eq. (1.8). For p ⩾ 4, we prove an exponential decay of the lagged correlation function and the central limit theorem for partial sums of the squared tvGARCH(1, 1) process under similar conditions as in the stationary case. In the second part of the paper, we study the (weak) tail index of the tvGARCH(1, 1) model.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the central limit theorem for linear random fields with martingale-differences innovations satisfying the central limit theorem from [J. We study the 2N-component fermionic model on a hierarchical lattice and give explicit formulas for the renormalization-group transformation in the space of coefficients that determine a Grassmann-valued density of the free measure. We evaluate the inverse renormalization-group transformation. The de.nition of the renormalization-group fixed points reduces to a solution of a system of algebraic equations. We investigate solutions of this system for N = 1, 2, 3. For α = 1, we prove an analogue of the central limit theorem for fermionic 2N-component fields. We prove a decomposition theorem for the cd-index of a Gorenstein* poset analogous to the decomposition theorem for the intersection cohomology of a toric variety. From this we settle a conjecture of Stanley that the cd-index of Gorenstein* lattices is minimized on Boolean algebras.  相似文献

We extend the central limit theorem for additive functionals of a stationary, ergodic Markov chain with normal transition operator due to Gordin and Lif?ic, 1981 [A remark about a Markov process with normal transition operator, In: Third Vilnius Conference on Probability and Statistics 1, pp. 147–48] to continuous-time Markov processes with normal generators. As examples, we discuss random walks on compact commutative hypergroups as well as certain random walks on non-commutative, compact groups.  相似文献

In this article we investigate the ballistic behavior of diffusions in random environment. We introduce conditions in the spirit of (T) and (T) of the discrete setting, cf. [A.-S. Sznitman, On a class of transient random walks in random environment, Ann. Probab. 29 (2) (2001) 723–764; A.-S. Sznitman, An effective criterion for ballistic behavior of random walks in random environment, Probab. Theory Related Fields 122 (4) (2002) 509–544], that imply, when d2, a law of large numbers with non-vanishing limiting velocity (which we refer to as ‘ballistic behavior’) and a central limit theorem with non-degenerate covariance matrix. As an application of our results, we consider the class of diffusions where the diffusion matrix is the identity, and give a concrete criterion on the drift term under which the diffusion in random environment exhibits ballistic behavior. This criterion provides examples of diffusions in random environment with ballistic behavior, beyond what was previously known.  相似文献

Positively associated stationary random fields on d-dimensional integral lattice arise in various models of mathematical statistics, percolation theory, statistical physics, and reliability theory. In this paper, we shall be concerned with a field with covariance functions satisfying a more general condition than summability. A criterion for the validity of the central limit theorem (CLT) for partial sums of a field from this class is established. The sums are taken over an increasing nest of parallelepipeds or cubes. The well-known conjecture of Newman stated that for an associated stationary random field the above condition on the covariance function should force the CLT to hold. As was shown by N. Herrndorf and A. P. Shashkin, this conjecture fails already for d = 1. In the present paper, the uniform integrability of the squared partial sums is shown as being of key importance for the CLT to hold. Thus, an extension of Lewis’s theorem proved for a sequence of random variables is obtained. Also, it is indicated how to modify Newman’s conjecture for any d. A representation of variances of partial sums of a field by means of slowly varying functions of several arguments is used in an essential way.  相似文献

Abstract

In a recent work of the second named author on the Almost Sure Central Limit Theorem (ASCLT), we showed the usefulness of the concept of quasi-orthogonal system of random variables introduced by Bellman and later developed by Kac, Salem and Zygmund. In this paper, we propose an optimal formulation of the ASCLT again by using this idea and new correlation inequalities for sums of independent random variables. We also introduce and develop the notion of “intersective ASCLT” by proving some new results generalizing and improving substancially the classical formulation of the ASCLT. Essential tools for this approach are correlation inequalities recently developed by the first named author and some extensions of these ones obtained in the present paper.  相似文献

In 1974, Sen proved weak convergence of the empirical processes (in the J1-topology on Dp[0, 1]) for a stationary φ-mixing sequence of stochastic p( 1)-vectors. In this note, we show that Sen's theorem on weak convergence of the multidimensional empirical process for a stationary φ-mixing sequence of stochastic vectors remains true under a less restrictive condition on the mixing constants {φn}, i.e., φn = O(n−1−δ) for some δ > 0.  相似文献

This paper considers a stable GIGI∨1 queue with a regularly varying service time distribution. We derive the tail behaviour of the integral of the queue length process Q(t) over one busy period. We show that the occurrence of a large integral is related to the occurrence of a large maximum of the queueing process over the busy period and we exploit asymptotic results for this variable. Abstract The aim of this paper is to investigate the central limit theorems for asymptotically negatively dependent random fields under lower moment conditions or the Lindeberg condition. Results obtained improve a central limit theorem of Roussas [11] for negatively assiated fields and the main results of Su and Chi [18], and also include a central limit of theorem for weakly negatively associated random variables similar to that of Burton et al.
