We construct an exponential attractor for semigroup in Banach space by using ω-limit compactness method and provide a new method to prove the existence of an exponential attractor in uniformly convex Banach space. As a simple application, we prove the existence of an exponential attractor for reaction diffusion equations.     

Existence theorems for monotone operators in reflexive Banach spaces

In this paper, we obtain an existence theorem for single-valued monotone operators in a reflexive Banach space. Using this result, we prove a fixed point theorem for nonexpansive mappings in a Hilbert space and an existence theorem for maximal monotone operators in a Banach space. On an EVI curve characterization of Hilbert spaces

It is shown that the existence of a large enough collection of EVI (evolution variational inequality) curves for a lower semi-continuous functional on a Banach space implies that the space is in fact a Hilbert space. The main result is exemplified by the p-Laplacian evolution in Banach space.

Monotone Iterative Technique for a Class of Semilinear Evolution Equations with Nonlocal Conditions

This paper discusses the existence and uniqueness of mild solutions for a class of semilinear evolution equations with nonlocal conditions in an ordered Banach space E. Under some monotonicity conditions and noncompactness measure conditions of the nonlinearity, a new monotone iterative method on the evolution equations with nonlocal conditions has been established. Particularly, an existence result without using noncompactness measure condition is obtained in ordered and weakly sequentially complete Banach spaces, which is very convenient for application. An example to illustrate our main results is also given.
