不等式的证明往往比较复杂,有时直观含义也比较抽象,代数的方法难以发挥作用。如果能够建立适当的概率模型,赋以一些随机事件或随机变量的具体含义,再利用概率的理论加以证明,则常常能使证明过程得到简化。同时还可以为抽象的数学问题提供具体的概率背景,沟通各数学分支之间的联系。文中通过几个不等式的证明阐明了常用的概率思想方法。 相似文献

Adopting temporal parts theory is the most popular way of addressing a host of puzzles about diachronic identity. For example, it is not obvious how I am the same person as the baby who shared my name. With the theory, sameness of person, e.g., consists in being comprised by the same temporally extended, four-dimensional object. However, temporal parts theory has unacceptable consequences for notions of freedom and probability. I show that the only acceptable reading of four-dimensionalism entails that the four dimensional object that is me, say, already exists in its entirety. This entails that all of my future properties are already set. This nearly Spinozistic result robs us of familiar notions of choice and possibility. I argue that these notions are more central to our thinking than temporal parts theory, and that on these grounds we must look elsewhere for solutions to our questions about identity across time. 相似文献

In this reflective paper, I explore the thinking of a group of pre-service teachers as they reason about experimental probability and theoretical probability. I am particularly interested in investigating whether pre-service teachers could construct a bidirectional link between the experimental probability and theoretical probability, similar to the tentative model I introduce elsewhere (2008) for coordinating the two perspectives on distribution. Overall, this research study contributes to understanding how pre-service students can build connections to help teachers conceptualize and support students to embrace elements that act as connections between the two approaches to probability. 相似文献

We propose an alternative approach to probability theory closely related to the framework of numerosity theory: non-Archimedean probability (NAP). In our approach, unlike in classical probability theory, all subsets of an infinite sample space are measurable and only the empty set gets assigned probability zero (in other words: the probability functions are regular). We use a non-Archimedean field as the range of the probability function. As a result, the property of countable additivity in Kolmogorov’s axiomatization of probability is replaced by a different type of infinite additivity. 相似文献
