In the paper [A. Rababah, S. Mann, Iterative process for G2-multi degree reduction of Bézier curves, Applied Mathematics and Computation 217 (2011) 8126-8133], Rababah and Mann proposed an iterative method for multi-degree reduction of Bézier curves with C1 and G2-continuity at the endpoints. In this paper, we provide a theoretical proof for the existence of the unique solution in the first step of the iterative process, while the proof in their paper applies only in some special cases. Also, we give a complete convergence proof for the iterative method. We solve the problem by using convex quadratic optimization.  相似文献

Call a locally compact group G, C1-unique, if L1(G) has exactly one (separating) C1-norm. It is easy to see that a 1-regular group G is C1-unique and that a C1-unique group is amenable. For connected groups G it is proved that G is C1-unique, if the interior R(G)0 of a certain part R(G) of Prim(G), called the regular part of Prim(G), is dense in Prim(G), and that C1-uniqueness of G implies the density of R(G) in Prim(G). From this it is derived that a connected group of type I is C1-unique if and only if R(G)0 is dense in Prim(G). For exponential G, a quite explicit version of this result in terms of the Lie algebra of G is given. As an easy consequence, examples of amenable groups, which are not C1-unique, and C1-unique groups, which are not 1-regular are obtained. Furthermore it is shown that a connected locally compact group G is amenable if and only if L1(G) has exactly one C1-norm, which is invariant under the isometric 1-automorphisms of L1(G).  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the (simplified) 3-dimensional primitive equations with physical boundary conditions. We show that the equations with constant forcing have a bounded absorbing ball in the H 1-norm and that a solution to the unforced equations has its H 1-norm decay to 0. From this, we argue that there exists an invariant measure (on H 1) for the equations under random kick-forcing.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the global smooth solutions and their decay for the full compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations in R 3. We prove the global existence of smooth solutions near the constant state in Sobolev norms by energy method and show the convergence rates of the L p -norm of these solutions to the constant state when the L q -norm of the perturbation is bounded.  相似文献

The sphericity sph(G) of a graph G is the minimum dimension d for which G is the intersection graph of a family of congruent spheres in Rd. The edge clique cover number θ(G) is the minimum cardinality of a set of cliques (complete subgraphs) that covers all edges of G. We prove that if G has at least one edge, then sph(G)?θ(G). Our upper bound remains valid for intersection graphs defined by balls in the Lp-norm for 1?p?∞.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a free boundary problem for compressible spherically symmetric Navier-Stokes equations without a solid core. Under certain assumptions imposed on the initial data, we obtain the global existence and uniqueness of the weak solution, give some uniform bounds (with respect to time) of the solution and show that it converges to a stationary one as time tends to infinity. Moreover, we obtain the stabilization rate estimates of exponential type in L-norm and weighted H1-norm of the solution by constructing some Lyapunov functionals. The results show that such system is stable under the small perturbations, and could be applied to the astrophysics.  相似文献

Many existing algorithms taking the seminorm in BV(Ω) for regularization have achieved great success in image processing. However, this paper considers the total bounded variation regularization based approach to perform image deblurring. Based on this novel model, we introduce an extended split Bregman iteration to obtain the optimum solution quickly. We also provide the rigorous convergence analysis of the iterative algorithm here. Compared with the results of the ROF method, numerical simulations illustrate the more excellent reconstruction performance of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

We apply Jacobi spectral collocation approximation to a two-dimensional nonlinear weakly singular Volterra integral equation with smooth solutions. Under reasonable assumptions on the nonlinearity, we carry out complete convergence analysis of the numerical approximation in the L-norm and weighted L2-norm. The provided numerical examples show that the proposed spectral method enjoys spectral accuracy.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the edge nucleus E0(G) of a point-determining graph G. We observe several relationships between E0(G) and the nucleus G0 = {vV(G)∣ G ? v is point determining} and use these relationships to prove several properties of E0(G). In particular, we show that there are only a finite number of graphs with a given edge nucleus and we determine those graphs G for which |E0(G)| ≤ 2. We also show that an n-clique of a point-determining graph G contains at least n?2 edges of E0(G) and if G is totally point determining, then every odd cycle of G meets E0(G).  相似文献

We present a simple method for degree reduction of tensor product Bézier surfaces with tangent plane continuity in L2-norm. Continuity constraints at the four corners of surfaces are considered, so that the boundary curves preserve endpoints continuity of any order α. We obtain matrix representations for the control points of the degree reduced surfaces by the least-squares method. A simple optimization scheme that minimizes the perturbations of some related control points is proposed, and the surface patches after adjustment are C continuous in the interior and G1 continuous at the common boundaries. We show that this scheme is applicable to surface patches defined on chessboard-like domains.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the Galerkin and collocation methods for the eigenvalue problem of a compact integral operator with a smooth kernel using the Legendre polynomials of degree ≤n. We prove that the error bounds for eigenvalues are of the order O(n−2r) and the gap between the spectral subspaces are of the orders O(nr) in L2-norm and O(n1/2−r) in the infinity norm, where r denotes the smoothness of the kernel. By iterating the eigenvectors we show that the iterated eigenvectors converge with the orders of convergence O(n−2r) in both L2-norm and infinity norm. In this paper we study the Coifman type estimate for an oscillation operator related to the one-sided discrete square function S+. We prove that for any weight w, the Lp(w)-norm of this operator, and therefore the Lp(w)-norm of S+, is dominated by a constant times the Lp(w)-norm of the one-sided Hardy-Littlewood maximal function iterated two times. For the kth commutator with a BMO function we show that k+2 iterates of the one-sided Hardy-Littlewood maximal function are sufficient.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the low-order nonconforming rectangular and quadrilateral finite elements approximation of incompressible flow.Beyond the previous research works,we propose a general strategy to construct the basis functions.Under several specific constraints,the optimal error estimates are obtained,i.e.,the first order accuracy of the velocities in H1-norm and the pressure in L2-norm,as well as the second order accuracy of the velocities in L2-norm.Besides,we clarify the differences between rectangular and quadrilateral finite element approximation.In addition,we give several examples to verify the validity of our error estimates.  相似文献

In this paper we prove that, under an explicit integral pinching assumption between the L2-norm of the Ricci curvature and the L2-norm of the scalar curvature, a closed 3-manifold with positive scalar curvature admits a conformal metric of positive Ricci curvature. In particular, using a result of Hamilton, this implies that the manifold is diffeomorphic to a quotient of S3. The proof of the main result of the paper is based on ideas developed in an article by M. Gursky and J. Viaclovsky.  相似文献

The weighted least-squares solutions of coupled singular matrix equations are too difficult to obtain by applying matrices decomposition. In this paper, a family of algorithms are applied to solve these problems based on the Kronecker structures. Subsequently, we construct a computationally efficient solutions of coupled restricted singular matrix equations. Furthermore, the need to compute the weighted Drazin and weighted Moore–Penrose inverses; and the use of Tian's work and Lev-Ari's results are due to appearance in the solutions of these problems. The several special cases of these problems are also considered which includes the well-known coupled Sylvester matrix equations. Finally, we recover the iterative methods to the weighted case in order to obtain the minimum D-norm G-vector least-squares solutions for the coupled Sylvester matrix equations and the results lead to the least-squares solutions and invertible solutions, as a special case.  相似文献

Let u(x, G) be the classical stress function of a finitely connected plane domain G. The isoperimetric properties of the L p -norms of u(x, G) are studied. Payne’s inequality for simply connected domains is generalized to finitely connected domains. It is proved that the L p -norms of the functions u(x, G) and u ?1 (x, G) strictly decrease with respect to the parameter p, and a sharp bound for the rate of decrease of the L p -norms of these functions in terms of the corresponding L p -norms of the stress function for an annulus is obtained. A new integral inequality for the L p -norms of u(x, G), which is an analog of the inequality obtained by F. G. Avkhadiev and the author for the L p -norm of conformal radii, is proved.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the numerical computation of the errors in linear systems when using iterative methods. This is done by using methods to obtain bounds or approximations of quadratic formsu T A −1 u whereA is a symmetric positive definite matrix andu is a given vector. Numerical examples are given for the Gauss-Seidel algorithm. Moreover, we show that using a formula for theA-norm of the error from Dahlquist, Golub and Nash [1978] very good bounds of the error can be computed almost for free during the iterations of the conjugate gradient method leading to a reliable stopping criterion. In the paper, we consider a multi-dimensional bipolar hydrodynamic model from semiconductor devices and plasmas. This system takes the form of Euler–Poisson with electric field and frictional damping added to the momentum equations. By making a new analysis on Green’s functions for the Euler system with damping and the Euler–Poisson system with damping, we obtain the pointwise estimates of the solution for the multi-dimensions bipolar Euler–Poisson system. As a by-product, we extend decay rates of the densities \({\rho_i(i=1,2)}\) in the usual L2-norm to the Lp-norm with \({p\geq1}\) and the time-decay rates of the momentums mi(i = 1,2) in the L2-norm to the Lp-norm with p > 1 and all of the decay rates here are optimal.  相似文献
