The singular integral (SI) with the Cauchy kernel is considered. New quadrature formulas (QFs) based on the modification of discrete vortex method to approximate SI are constructed. Convergence of QFs and error bounds are shown in the classes of functions Hα([−1,1]) and C1([−1,1]). Numerical examples are shown to validate the QFs constructed.  相似文献

The problem of the numerical evaluation of Cauchy principal value integrals of oscillatory functions , where −1<τ<1, has been discussed. Based on analytic continuation, if f is analytic in a sufficiently large complex region G containing [−1, 1], the integrals can be transformed into the problems of integrating two integrals on [0,+) with the integrand that does not oscillate, and that decays exponentially fast, which can be efficiently computed by using the Gauss-Laguerre quadrature rule. The validity of the method has been demonstrated in the provision of two numerical experiments and their results.  相似文献

The classical singular value decomposition for a matrix ACm×n is a canonical form for A that also displays the eigenvalues of the Hermitian matrices AA and AA. In this paper, we develop a corresponding decomposition for A that provides the Jordan canonical forms for the complex symmetric matrices and . We provide a new simple proof to the celebrated theorem of Poltoratskii concerning ratios of Borel transforms of measures. For the steady-state solution of an integral-differential equation from a two-dimensional model in transport theory, we shall derive and study a nonsymmetric algebraic Riccati equation B--XF--F+X+XB+X=0, where , and with a nonnegative matrix P, positive diagonal matrices D±, and nonnegative parameters f, and . We prove the existence of the minimal nonnegative solution X under the physically reasonable assumption , and study its numerical computation by fixed-point iteration, Newton’s method and doubling. We shall also study several special cases; e.g. when and P is low-ranked, then is low-ranked and can be computed using more efficient iterative processes in U and V. We consider the global Cauchy problem for an evolution equation which models an Euler-Bernoulli vibrating beam with time dependent elastic modulus under a force linear function of the displacement u, of the slope xu, of and . These two last derivatives are proportional to the bending moment and to the shear respectively. We show results of well-posedness in Sobolev spaces assuming that the coefficient of the shear term has a decay rate |x|σ, σ?1, for the position x→±∞ and that all the coefficients of , 1?k?3, satisfy suitable Levi conditions since we allow the elastic modulus to vanish at some time t=t0.  相似文献

New quadrature formulas (QFs) for evaluating the singular integral (SI) of Cauchy type with unbounded weight function on the edges is constructed. The construction of the QFs is based on the modification of discrete vortices method (MMDV) and linear spline interpolation over the finite interval [−1,1]. It is proved that the constructed QFs converge for any singular point x not coinciding with the end points of the interval [−1,1]. Numerical results are given to validate the accuracy of the QFs. The error bounds are found to be of order O(hα|lnh|) and O(h|lnh|) in the classes of functions Hα([−1,1]) and C1([−1,1]), respectively.  相似文献

We prove the asymptotic stability of nonplanar two-states Riemann solutions in BGK approximations of a class of multidimensional systems of conservation laws. The latter consists of systems whose flux-functions in different directions share a common complete system of Riemann invariants, the level surfaces of which are hyperplanes. The asymptotic stability to which the main result refers is in the sense of the convergence as t→∞ in of the space of directions ζ=x/t. That is, the solution z(t,x,ξ) of the perturbed Cauchy problem for the corresponding BGK system satisfies as t→∞, in , where R(ζ) is the self-similar entropy solution of the two-states nonplanar Riemann problem for the system of conservation laws.  相似文献

Riesz fractional derivatives of a function, (also called Riesz potentials), are defined as fractional powers of the Laplacian. Asymptotic expansions for large x are computed for the Riesz fractional derivatives of the Airy function of the first kind, Ai(x), and the Scorer function, Gi(x). Reduction formulas are provided that allow one to express Riesz potentials of products of Airy functions, and , via and . Here Bi(x) is the Airy function of the second type. Integral representations are presented for the function A2(a,b;x)=Ai(xa)Ai(xb) with a,bR and its Hilbert transform. Combined with the above asymptotic expansions they can be used for computing asymptotics of the Hankel transform of . These results are used for obtaining the weak rotation approximation for the Ostrovsky equation (asymptotics of the fundamental solution of the linearized Cauchy problem as the rotation parameter tends to zero).  相似文献

A nonlinear shallow water equation, which includes the famous Camassa-Holm (CH) and Degasperis-Procesi (DP) equations as special cases, is investigated. The local well-posedness of solutions for the nonlinear equation in the Sobolev space Hs(R) with is developed. Provided that does not change sign, u0Hs () and u0L1(R), the existence and uniqueness of the global solutions to the equation are shown to be true in u(t,x)∈C([0,∞);Hs(R))∩C1([0,∞);Hs−1(R)).
