Extriangulated category was introduced by H.Nakaoka and Y.Palu to give a unification of properties in exact categories anjd triangulated categories.A notion of tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories in an extriangulated category is defined in this paper. We give a Bazzoni characterization of tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories and obtain an Auslander-Reiten correspondence between tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories and coresolving covariantly(resp.,resolving contravariantly)finite subcatgories which are closed under direct summands and satisfy some cogenerating(resp.,generating)conditions.Applications of the results are given:we show that tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories defined here unify many previous works about tilting modules(subcategories)in module categories of Artin algebras and in abelian categories admitting a cotorsion triples;we also show that the results work for the triangulated categories with a proper class of triangles introduced by A.Beligiannis.  相似文献

We show that the abelian category $\mathsf{mod}\text{-}\mathcal{X }$ of coherent functors over a contravariantly finite rigid subcategory $\mathcal{X }$ in a triangulated category $\mathcal{T }$ is equivalent to the Gabriel–Zisman localization at the class of regular maps of a certain factor category of $\mathcal{T }$ , and moreover it can be calculated by left and right fractions. Thus we generalize recent results of Buan and Marsh. We also extend recent results of Iyama–Yoshino concerning subfactor triangulated categories arising from mutation pairs in $\mathcal{T }$ . In fact we give a classification of thick triangulated subcategories of a natural pretriangulated factor category of $\mathcal{T }$ and a classification of functorially finite rigid subcategories of $\mathcal{T }$ if the latter has Serre duality. In addition we characterize $2$ -cluster tilting subcategories along these lines. Finally we extend basic results of Keller–Reiten concerning the Gorenstein and the Calabi–Yau property for categories arising from certain rigid, not necessarily cluster tilting, subcategories, as well as several results of the literature concerning the connections between $2$ -cluster tilting subcategories of triangulated categories and tilting subcategories of the associated abelian category of coherent functors.  相似文献

We prove that the exactness of direct limits in an abelian category with products and an injective cogenerator J is equivalent to a condition on J which is well-known to characterize pure-injectivity in module categories, and we describe an application of this result to the tilting theory. We derive our result as a consequence of a more general characterization of when inverse limits in the Eilenberg–Moore category of a monad on the category of sets preserve regular epimorphisms.  相似文献

A recollement is a decomposition of a given category (abelian or triangulated) into two subcategories with functorial data that enables the glueing of structural information. This paper is dedicated to investigating the behaviour under glueing of some basic properties of abelian categories (well-poweredness, Grothendieck's axioms AB3, AB4 and AB5, existence of a generator) in the presence of a recollement. In particular, we observe that in a recollement of a Grothendieck abelian category the other two categories involved are also Grothendieck abelian and, more significantly, we provide an example where the converse does not hold and explore multiple sufficient conditions for it to hold.  相似文献

In the paper of Keller and Reiten, it was shown that the quotient of a triangulated category (with some conditions) by a cluster tilting subcategory becomes an abelian category. After that, Koenig and Zhu showed in detail, how the abelian structure is given on this quotient category, in a more abstract setting. On the other hand, as is well known since 1980s, the heart of any t-structure is abelian. We unify these two constructions by using the notion of a cotorsion pair. To any cotorsion pair in a triangulated category, we can naturally associate an abelian category, which gives back each of the above two abelian categories, when the cotorsion pair comes from a cluster tilting subcategory, or a t-structure, respectively.  相似文献

We introduce n-abelian and n-exact categories, these are analogs of abelian and exact categories from the point of view of higher homological algebra. We show that n-cluster-tilting subcategories of abelian (resp. exact) categories are n-abelian (resp. n-exact). These results allow to construct several examples of n-abelian and n-exact categories. Conversely, we prove that n-abelian categories satisfying certain mild assumptions can be realized as n-cluster-tilting subcategories of abelian categories. In analogy with a classical result of Happel, we show that the stable category of a Frobenius n-exact category has a natural \((n+2)\)-angulated structure in the sense of Geiß–Keller–Oppermann. We give several examples of n-abelian and n-exact categories which have appeared in representation theory, commutative algebra, commutative and non-commutative algebraic geometry.  相似文献

In the preceding part (I) of this paper, we showed that for any torsion pair (i.e., t-structure without the shift-closedness) in a triangulated category, there is an associated abelian category, which we call the heart. Two extremal cases of torsion pairs are t-structures and cluster tilting subcategories. If the torsion pair comes from a t-structure, then its heart is nothing other than the heart of this t-structure. In this case, as is well known, by composing certain adjoint functors, we obtain a homological functor from the triangulated category to the heart. If the torsion pair comes from a cluster tilting subcategory, then its heart coincides with the quotient category of the triangulated category by this subcategory. In this case, the quotient functor becomes homological. In this paper, we unify these two constructions, to obtain a homological functor from the triangulated category, to the heart of any torsion pair.  相似文献

A general framework for cluster tilting is set up by showing that any quotient of a triangulated category modulo a tilting subcategory (i.e., a maximal 1-orthogonal subcategory) carries an induced abelian structure. These abelian quotients turn out to be module categories of Gorenstein algebras of dimension at most one.   相似文献

An abelian category with arbitrary coproducts and a small projective generator is equivalent to a module category (Mitchell (1964) [17]). A tilting object in an abelian category is a natural generalization of a small projective generator. Moreover, any abelian category with a tilting object admits arbitrary coproducts (Colpi et al. (2007) [8]). It naturally arises the question when an abelian category with a tilting object is equivalent to a module category. By Colpi et al. (2007) [8], the problem simplifies in understanding when, given an associative ring R and a faithful torsion pair (X,Y) in the category of right R-modules, the heartH(X,Y)of the t-structure associated with (X,Y) is equivalent to a category of modules. In this paper, we give a complete answer to this question, proving necessary and sufficient conditions on (X,Y) for H(X,Y) to be equivalent to a module category. We analyze in detail the case when R is right artinian.  相似文献

First, we show that a compact object C in a triangulated category, which satisfies suitable conditions, induces a t-structure. Second, in an abelian category we show that a complex P· of small projective objects of term length two, which satisfies suitable conditions, induces a torsion theory. In the case of module categories, using a torsion theory, we give equivalent conditions for P· to be a tilting complex. Finally, in the case of artin algebras, we give a one-to-one correspondence between tilting complexes of term length two and torsion theories with certain conditions.  相似文献

We show that the category of valuated groups has a topological forgetful functor to the category of abelian groups. This category is universal, that is, it is the bireflective hull of its To-objects, and properties of the (large) lattice of epireflective subcategories are contrasted with results obtained by T. Marny [7] for universal categories over the category of sets.  相似文献

We define model structures on exact categories, which we call exact model structures. We look at the relationship between these model structures and cotorsion pairs on the exact category. In particular, when the underlying category is weakly idempotent complete, we get Hovey’s one-to-one correspondence between model structures and complete cotorsion pairs. We classify the right and the left homotopy relation in terms of the cotorsion pairs and look at examples of exact model structures. In particular, we see that given any hereditary abelian model category, the full subcategories of cofibrant, fibrant and cofibrant-fibrant subobjects each has natural exact model structures equivalent to the original model structure. These model structures each has interesting characteristics. For example, the cofibrant-fibrant subobjects form a Frobenius category, whose stable category is the same as the homotopy category of its model structure.  相似文献

Exact categories
We survey the basics of homological algebra in exact categories in the sense of Quillen. All diagram lemmas are proved directly from the axioms, notably the five lemma, the 3×33×3-lemma and the snake lemma. We briefly discuss exact functors, idempotent completion and weak idempotent completeness. We then show that it is possible to construct the derived category of an exact category without any embedding into abelian categories and we sketch Deligne's approach to derived functors. The construction of classical derived functors with values in an abelian category painlessly translates to exact categories, i.e., we give proofs of the comparison theorem for projective resolutions and the horseshoe lemma. After discussing some examples we elaborate on Thomason's proof of the Gabriel–Quillen embedding theorem in an appendix.  相似文献

Geiss, Keller and Oppermann (2013) introduced the notion of n-angulated category, which is a “higher dimensional” analogue of triangulated category, and showed that certain (n-2)-cluster tilting subcategories of triangulated categories give rise to n-angulated categories. We define mutation pairs in n-angulated categories and prove that given such a mutation pair, the corresponding quotient category carries a natural n-angulated structure. This result generalizes a theorem of Iyama-Yoshino (2008) for triangulated categories.  相似文献

We give a characterization of n-cluster tilting subcategories of representation-directed algebras based on the n-Auslander–Reiten translations. As an application we classify acyclic Nakayama algebras with homogeneous relations which admit an n-cluster tilting subcategory. Finally, we classify Nakayama algebras of global dimension d< which admit a d-cluster tilting subcategory.  相似文献

Let \(\mathcal {X}\) be a resolving subcategory of an abelian category. In this paper we investigate the singularity category \(\mathsf {D_{sg}}(\underline{\mathcal {X}})=\mathsf {D^b}({\mathsf {mod}}\,\underline{\mathcal {X}})/\mathsf {K^b}({\mathsf {proj}}({\mathsf {mod}}\,\underline{\mathcal {X}}))\) of the stable category \(\underline{\mathcal {X}}\) of \(\mathcal {X}\). We consider when the singularity category is triangle equivalent to the stable category of Gorenstein projective objects, and when the stable categories of two resolving subcategories have triangle equivalent singularity categories. Applying this to the module category of a Gorenstein ring, we prove that the complete intersections over which the stable categories of resolving subcategories have trivial singularity categories are the simple hypersurface singularities of type \((\mathsf {A}_1)\). We also generalize several results of Yoshino on totally reflexive modules.  相似文献

We study the type-theoretical analogue of Bernays-Gödel set-theory and its models in categories. We introduce the notion of small structure on a category, and if small structure satisfies certain axioms we can think of the underlying category as a category of classes. Our axioms imply the existence of a co-variant powerset monad on the underlying category of classes, which sends a class to the class of its small subclasses. Simple fixed points of this and related monads are shown to be models of intuitionistic Zermelo-Fraenkel set-theory (IZF).  相似文献

In this paper, we obtain a non-abelian analogue of Lubkin's embedding theorem for abelian categories. Our theorem faithfully embeds any small regular Mal'tsev category C in an n-th power of a particular locally finitely presentable regular Mal'tsev category. The embedding preserves and reflects finite limits, isomorphisms and regular epimorphisms, as in the case of Barr's embedding theorem for regular categories. Furthermore, we show that we can take n to be the (cardinal) number of subobjects of the terminal object in C.  相似文献

In this paper we study normal Hopf subalgebras of a semisimple Drinfeld double. This is realized by considering an analogue of Goursat’s lemma concerning fusion subcategories of Deligne products of two fusion categories. As an application we show that the Drinfeld double of any abelian extension is also an abelian extension.  相似文献
