In this paper, a new approximation method for fractional differential equations based on Mittag-Leffler function is developed. Finite Mittag-Leffler function and its fractional-order derivatives are investigated. An efficient technique for solving linear and nonlinear fractional order differential equations is developed. The proposed method combines Mittag-Leffler collocation method and optimization technique. Error estimation of the approximation is stated and proved. We present numerical results and comparisons of previous treatments to demonstrate the efficiency and applicability of the proposed method. Making use of small number of unknowns, the resulting solution converges to the exact one in the linear case and it has a very small error in the nonlinear case.

In this article, a general formulation for the fractional-order Legendre functions (FLFs) is constructed to obtain the solution of the fractional-order differential equations. Fractional calculus has been used to model physical and engineering processes that are found to be best described by fractional differential equations. Therefore, an efficient and reliable technique for the solution of them is too important. For the concept of fractional derivative we will adopt Caputo’s definition by using Riemann–Liouville fractional integral operator. Our main aim is to generalize the new orthogonal functions based on Legendre polynomials to the fractional calculus. Also a general formulation for FLFs fractional derivatives and product operational matrices is driven. These matrices together with the Tau method are then utilized to reduce the solution of this problem to the solution of a system of algebraic equations. The method is applied to solve linear and nonlinear fractional differential equations. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the presented technique.  相似文献

In this paper we provide numerical evidence, via graphics generated with the help of computer simulations, that switching the control parameter of a dynamical system belonging to a class of fractional-order systems in a deterministic way, one obtains an attractor which belongs to the class of all admissible attractors of the considered system. For this purpose, while a multistep numerical method for fractional-order differential equations approximates the solution to the mathematical model, the control parameter is switched periodically every few integration steps. The switch is made inside of a considered set of admissible parameter values. Moreover, the synthesized attractor matches the attractor obtained with the control parameter replaced with the averaged switched parameter values. The results are verified in this paper on a representative system, the fractional-order Lü system. In this way we were able to extend the applicability of the algorithm presented in earlier papers using a numerical method for fractional differential equations.  相似文献

In this paper, a space fractional differential equation is considered. The equation is obtained from the parabolic equation containing advection, diffusion and reaction terms by replacing the second order derivative in space by a fractional derivative in space of order. An implicit finite difference approximation for this equation is presented. The stability and convergence of the finite difference approximation are proved. A fractional-order method of lines is also presented. Finally, some numerical results are given.  相似文献

In this article, a new numerical approach has been proposed for solving a class of delay time-fractional partial differential equations. The approximate solutions of these equations are considered as linear combinations of Müntz–Legendre polynomials with unknown coefficients. Operational matrix of fractional differentiation is provided to accelerate computations of the proposed method. Using Padé approximation and two-sided Laplace transformations, the mentioned delay fractional partial differential equations will be transformed to a sequence of fractional partial differential equations without delay. The localization process is based on the space-time collocation in some appropriate points to reduce the fractional partial differential equations into the associated system of algebraic equations which can be solved by some robust iterative solvers. Some numerical examples are also given to confirm the accuracy of the presented numerical scheme. Our results approved decisive preference of the Müntz–Legendre polynomials with respect to the Legendre polynomials.  相似文献

In this article, we develop a direct solution technique for solving multi-order fractional differential equations (FDEs) with variable coefficients using a quadrature shifted Legendre tau (Q-SLT) method. The spatial approximation is based on shifted Legendre polynomials. A new formula expressing explicitly any fractional-order derivatives of shifted Legendre polynomials of any degree in terms of shifted Legendre polynomials themselves is proved. Extension of the tau method for FDEs with variable coefficients is treated using the shifted Legendre–Gauss–Lobatto quadrature. Numerical results are given to confirm the reliability of the proposed method for some FDEs with variable coefficients.  相似文献

In this paper, a numerical method is presented to obtain and analyze the behavior of numerical solutions of distributed order fractional differential equations of the general form in the time domain with the Caputo fractional derivative. The suggested method is based on the Müntz–Legendre wavelet approximation. We derive a new operational vector for the Riemann–Liouville fractional integral of the Müntz–Legendre wavelets by using the Laplace transform method. Applying this operational vector and collocation method in our approach, the problem can be reduced to a system of linear and nonlinear algebraic equations. The arising system can be solved by the Newton method. Discussion on the error bound and convergence analysis for the proposed method is presented. Finally, seven test problems are considered to compare our results with other well‐known methods used for solving these problems. The results in the tabulated tables highlighted that the proposed method is an efficient mathematical tool for analyzing distributed order fractional differential equations of the general form.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a set of functions called fractional-order Legendre functions (FLFs) to obtain the numerical solution of optimal control problems subject to the linear and nonlinear fractional integro-differential equations. We consider the properties of these functions to construct the operational matrix of the fractional integration. Also, we achieved a general formulation for operational matrix of multiplication of these functions to solve the nonlinear problems for the first time. Then by using these matrices the mentioned fractional optimal control problem is reduced to a system of algebraic equations. In fact the functions of the problem are approximated by fractional-order Legendre functions with unknown coefficients in the constraint equations, performance index and conditions. Thus, a fractional optimal control problem converts to an optimization problem, which can then be solved numerically. The convergence of the method is discussed and finally, some numerical examples are presented to show the efficiency and accuracy of the method.  相似文献

Distributed-order differential equations have recently been investigated for complex dynamical systems, which have been used to describe some important physical phenomena. In this paper, a new time distributed-order and two-sided space-fractional advection-dispersion equation is considered. Firstly, we transform the time distributed-order fractional equation into a multi-term time-space fractional partial differential equation by applying numerical integration. Then an implicit numerical method is constructed to solve the multi-term fractional equation. The uniqueness, stability and convergence of the implicit numerical method are proved. Some numerical results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method. The method and techniques can be extended to other time distributed-order and space-fractional partial differential equations.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to present a new numerical method for solving a wide class of fractional partial differential equations (FPDEs) such as wave-diffusion equations, modified anomalous fractional sub-diffusion equations, time-fractional telegraph equations. The proposed method is based on the Fourier series expansion along the spatial coordinate which transforms the original equation into a sequence of multi-term fractional ordinary differential equations (ODEs). These fractional equations are solved by the use of a new efficient numerical technique – the backward substitution method. The numerical examples confirm the high accuracy and efficiency of the proposed numerical scheme in solving FPDEs with variable in time coefficients.  相似文献

Fractional calculus is an extension of derivatives and integrals to non-integer orders and has been widely used to model scientific and engineering problems. In this paper, we describe the fractional derivative in the Caputo sense and give the second kind Chebyshev wavelet (SCW) operational matrix of fractional integration. Then based on above results we propose the SCW operational matrix method to solve a kind of nonlinear fractional-order Volterra integro-differential equations. The main characteristic of this approach is that it reduces the integro-differential equations into a nonlinear system of algebraic equations. Thus, it can simplify the problem of fractional order equation solving. The obtained numerical results indicate that the proposed method is efficient and accurate for this kind equations.  相似文献

This paper presents a new computational technique for solving fractional pantograph differential equations. The fractional derivative is described in the Caputo sense. The main idea is to use Müntz-Legendre wavelet and its operational matrix of fractional-order integration. First, the Müntz-Legendre wavelet is presented. Then a family of piecewise functions is proposed, based on which the fractional order integration of the Müntz-Legendre wavelets are easy to calculate. The proposed approach is used this operational matrix with the collocation points to reduce the under study problem to a system of algebraic equations. An estimation of the error is given in the sense of Sobolev norms. The efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method are illustrated by several numerical examples.  相似文献

The main motive of this article is to study the recently developed Atangana-Baleanu Caputo (ABC) fractional operator that is obtained by replacing the classical singular kernel by Mittag-Leffler kernel in the definition of the fractional differential operator. We investigate a novel numerical method for the nonlinear two-dimensional cable equation in which time-fractional derivative is of Mittag-Leffler kernel type. First, we derive an approximation formula of the fractional-order ABC derivative of a function tk using a numerical integration scheme. Using this approximation formula and some properties of shifted Legendre polynomials, we derived the operational matrix of ABC derivative. In the author of knowledge, this operational matrix of ABC derivative is derived the first time. We have shown the efficiency of this newly derived operational matrix by taking one example. Then we solved a new class of fractional partial differential equations (FPDEs) by the implementation of this ABC operational matrix. The two-dimensional model of the time-fractional model of the cable equation is solved and investigated by this method. We have shown the effectiveness and validity of our proposed method by giving the solution of some numerical examples of the two-dimensional fractional cable equation. We compare our obtained numerical results with the analytical results, and we conclude that our proposed numerical method is feasible and the accuracy can be seen by error tables. We see that the accuracy is so good. This method will be very useful to investigate a different type of model that have Mittag-Leffler fractional derivative.  相似文献

Many physical processes appear to exhibit fractional order behavior that may vary with time or space. The continuum of order in the fractional calculus allows the order of the fractional operator to be considered as a variable. Numerical methods and analysis of stability and convergence of numerical scheme for the variable fractional order partial differential equations are quite limited and difficult to derive. This motivates us to develop efficient numerical methods as well as stability and convergence of the implicit numerical methods for the space-time variable fractional order diffusion equation on a finite domain. It is worth mentioning that here we use the Coimbra-definition variable time fractional derivative which is more efficient from the numerical standpoint and is preferable for modeling dynamical systems. An implicit Euler approximation is proposed and then the stability and convergence of the numerical scheme are investigated. Finally, numerical examples are provided to show that the implicit Euler approximation is computationally efficient.  相似文献

The variational iteration method and the homotopy analysis method, as alternative methods, have been widely used to handle linear and nonlinear models. The main property of the methods is their flexibility and ability to solve nonlinear equations accurately and conveniently. This paper deals with the numerical solutions of nonlinear fractional differential equations, where the fractional derivatives are considered in Caputo sense. The main aim is to introduce efficient algorithms of variational iteration and homotopy analysis methods that can be simply used to deal with nonlinear fractional differential equations. In these algorithms, Legendre polynomials are effectively implemented to achieve better approximation for the nonhomogeneous and nonlinear terms that leads to facilitate the computational work. The proposed algorithms are capable of reducing the size of calculations, improving the accuracy and easily overcome the difficulty arising in calculating complicated integrals. Numerical examples are examined to show the efficiency of the algorithms.  相似文献

In this paper, a numerical solution of fractional partial differential equations (FPDEs) for electromagnetic waves in dielectric media will be discussed. For the solution of FPDEs, we developed a numerical collocation method using an algorithm based on two‐dimensional shifted Legendre polynomials approximation, which is proposed for electromagnetic waves in dielectric media. By implementing the partial Riemann–Liouville fractional derivative operators, two‐dimensional shifted Legendre polynomials approximation and its operational matrix along with collocation method are used to convert FPDEs first into weakly singular fractional partial integro‐differential equations and then converted weakly singular fractional partial integro‐differential equations into system of algebraic equation. Some results concerning the convergence analysis and error analysis are obtained. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the technique. In this paper, a new numerical method for solving the fractional Bagley‐Torvik equation is presented. The method is based upon hybrid functions approximation. The properties of hybrid functions consisting of block‐pulse functions and Bernoulli polynomials are presented. The Riemann‐Liouville fractional integral operator for hybrid functions is introduced. This operator is then utilized to reduce the solution of the initial and boundary value problems for the fractional Bagley‐Torvik differential equation to a system of algebraic equations. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the technique. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a finite difference/collocation method for two-dimensional time fractional diffusion equation with generalized fractional operator. The main purpose of this paper is to design a high order numerical scheme for the new generalized time fractional diffusion equation. First, a finite difference approximation formula is derived for the generalized time fractional derivative, which is verified with order $2-\alpha$ $(0<\alpha<1)$. Then, collocation method is introduced for the two-dimensional space approximation. Unconditional stability of the scheme is proved. To make the method more efficient, the alternating direction implicit method is introduced to reduce the computational cost. At last, numerical experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the scheme.  相似文献
