Summary. In this paper we prove a Sanov result, i.e. a Large Deviation Principle (LDP) for the distribution of the empirical measure, for the annealed Glauber dynamics of the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick spin-glass. Without restrictions on time or temperature we prove a full LDP for the asymmetric dynamics and the crucial upper large deviations bound for the symmetric dynamics. In the symmetric model a new order-parameter arises corresponding to the response function in [SoZi83]. In the asymmetric case we show that the corresponding rate function has a unique minimum, given as the solution of a self-consistent equation. The key argument used in the proofs is a general result for mixing of what is known as Large Deviation Systems (LDS) with measures obeying an independent LDP. In this paper we solve a mapping problem for a particular class of Hilbert modules over an algebra multipliers of a diagonal Nevanlinna-Pick (NP) kernel. In this case, the regular representation provides a multiplier norm which induces the topology on the algebra. In particular, we show that, in an appropriate category, a certain class of Hilbert modules are projective. In addition, we establish a commutant lifting theorem for diagonal NP kernels.

In order to take into account thermal effects in flows through porous media, one makes ad hoc modifications to Darcy’s equation by appending a term that is similar to the one that is obtained in the Oberbeck–Boussinesq approximation for a fluid. In this short paper we outline a systematic procedure for obtaining an Oberbeck–Boussinesq type of approximation for the flow of a fluid through a porous medium. In addition to establishing the appropriate equation for a flow governed by Darcy’s equation, we proceed to obtain the approximations for flows governed by equations due to Forchheimer and Brinkman.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove an existence and uniqueness result for a bi-layer shallow water model in depth-mean velocity formulation. Some smoothness results for the solution are also obtained. In a previous work we proved the same results for a one-layer problem. Now the difficulty arises from the terms coupling the two layers. In order to obtain the energy estimate, we use a special basis which allows us to bound these terms.  相似文献

In this research, a two-stage batch production–inventory system is introduced. In this system, the production may be disrupted, for a given period of time, either at one or both stages. In this paper, firstly, a mathematical model has been developed to suggest a recovery plan for a single occurrence of disruption at either stage. Secondly, multiple disruptions have been considered, for which a new disruption may or may not affect the recovery plan of earlier disruptions. We propose a new approach that deals with a series of disruptions over a period of time, which can be implemented for disruption recovery on a real time basis. In this approach, the model formulated for single disruption has been integrated to generate initial solutions for individual disruptions and the solutions have been revised for multiple dependent disruptions with changed parameters. With the proposed approach, an optimal recovery plan can be obtained in real time, whenever the production system experiences either a sudden disruption or a series of disruptions, at different points in time. Some numerical examples and a real-world case study are presented to explain the benefits of our proposed approach.  相似文献

Various implementations of the discrepancy principle (DP) for linear ill-posed problems are given in a large number of papers. In all of these papers, the DP has been justified for special types of regularization strategies. In our paper, a unified approach to the construction of the DP is presented that does not require any special structure of the regularizing operator. In that respect, the new method generalizes all prior results on the DP principle for linear irregular operator equations with noisy data. The efficiency of the proposed scheme is demonstrated for a parameter identification problem in avian influenza. In solving this particular inverse problem, it turned out to be beneficial to use some regularization strategies, for which the earlier (structure-based) discrepancy principles were not applicable. This motivated the development of a novel DP put forth in the current paper.  相似文献
