Let $\{\varphi _n(z)\}_{n\ge 0}$ be a sequence of inner functions satisfying that $\zeta _n(z):=\varphi _n(z)/\varphi _{n+1}(z)\in H^\infty (z)$ for every $n\ge 0$ and $\{\varphi _n(z)\}_{n\ge 0}$ has no nonconstant common inner divisors. Associated with it, we have a Rudin type invariant subspace $\mathcal{M }$ of $H^2(\mathbb{D }^2)$ . The ranks of $\mathcal{M }\ominus w\mathcal{M }$ for $\mathcal{F }_z$ and $\mathcal{F }^*_z$ respectively are determined, where $\mathcal{F }_z$ is the fringe operator on $\mathcal{M }\ominus w\mathcal{M }$ . Let $\mathcal{N }= H^2(\mathbb{D }^2)\ominus \mathcal{M }$ . It is also proved that the rank of $\mathcal{M }\ominus w\mathcal{M }$ for $\mathcal{F }^*_z$ equals to the rank of $\mathcal{N }$ for $T^*_z$ and $T^*_w$ .  相似文献

We prove some Liouville type results for stable solutions to the biharmonic problem $\Delta ^2 u= u^q, \,u>0$ in $\mathbb{R }^n$ where $1 < q < \infty $ . For example, for $n \ge 5$ , we show that there are no stable classical solution in $\mathbb{R }^n$ when $\frac{n+4}{n-4} < q \le \left(\frac{n-8}{n}\right)_+^{-1}$ .  相似文献

This paper shows, by means of Kronecker’s theorem, the existence of infinitely many privileged regions called $r$ -rectangles (rectangles with two semicircles of small radius $r$ ) in the critical strip of each function $L_{n}(z)\!:=\!$ $1-\sum _{k=2}^{n}k^{z}$ , $n\!\ge \!2$ , containing exactly $\left[ \dfrac{T\log n}{2\pi }\right] +1$ zeros of $L_{n}(z)$ , where $T$ is the height of the $r$ -rectangle and $\left[\cdot \right]$ represents the integer part.  相似文献

We characterize functional equations of the form ${f(zf(z))=f(z)^{k+1},z\in\mathbb {C}}$ , with ${k\in\mathbb N}$ , like those generalized Dhombres equations ${f(zf(z))=\varphi (f(z))}$ , ${z\in\mathbb C}$ , with given entire function ${\varphi}$ , which have a nonconstant polynomial solution f.  相似文献

We investigate the zeros of a family of hypergeometric polynomials $M_n(x;\beta ,c)=(\beta )_n\,{}_2F_1(-n,-x;\beta ;1-\frac{1}{c})$ , $n\in \mathbb N ,$ known as Meixner polynomials, that are orthogonal on $(0,\infty )$ with respect to a discrete measure for $\beta >0$ and $0<c<1.$ When $\beta =-N$ , $N\in \mathbb N $ and $c=\frac{p}{p-1}$ , the polynomials $K_n(x;p,N)=(-N)_n\,{}_2F_1(-n,-x;-N;\frac{1}{p})$ , $n=0,1,\ldots , N$ , $0<p<1$ are referred to as Krawtchouk polynomials. We prove results for the zero location of the orthogonal polynomials $M_n(x;\beta ,c)$ , $c<0$ and $n<1-\beta $ , the quasi-orthogonal polynomials $M_n(x;\beta ,c)$ , $-k<\beta <-k+1$ , $k=1,\ldots ,n-1$ and $0<c<1$ or $c>1,$ as well as the polynomials $K_{n}(x;p,N)$ with non-Hermitian orthogonality for $0<p<1$ and $n=N+1,N+2,\ldots $ . We also show that the polynomials $M_n(x;\beta ,c)$ , $\beta \in \mathbb R $ are real-rooted when $c\rightarrow 0$ .  相似文献

We consider semi-infinite programming problems ${{\rm SIP}(z)}$ depending on a finite dimensional parameter ${z \in \mathbb{R}^p}$ . Provided that ${\bar{x}}$ is a strongly stable stationary point of ${{\rm SIP}(\bar{z})}$ , there exists a locally unique and continuous stationary point mapping ${z \mapsto x(z)}$ . This defines the local critical value function ${\varphi(z) := f(x(z); z)}$ , where ${x \mapsto f(x; z)}$ denotes the objective function of ${{\rm SIP}(z)}$ for a given parameter vector ${z\in \mathbb{R}^p}$ . We show that ${\varphi}$ is the sum of a convex function and a smooth function. In particular, this excludes the appearance of negative kinks in the graph of ${\varphi}$ .  相似文献

We study the nonlinear fractional equation $(-\Delta )^su=f(u)$ in $\mathbb R ^n,$ for all fractions $0<s<1$ and all nonlinearities $f$ . For every fractional power $s\in (0,1)$ , we obtain sharp energy estimates for bounded global minimizers and for bounded monotone solutions. They are sharp since they are optimal for solutions depending only on one Euclidian variable. As a consequence, we deduce the one-dimensional symmetry of bounded global minimizers and of bounded monotone solutions in dimension $n=3$ whenever $1/2\le s<1$ . This result is the analogue of a conjecture of De Giorgi on one-dimensional symmetry for the classical equation $-\Delta u=f(u)$ in $\mathbb R ^n$ . It remains open for $n=3$ and $s<1/2$ , and also for $n\ge 4$ and all $s$ .  相似文献

We consider positive solutions of $\varDelta u=0$ in $\mathbf{R}_+^n$ , $\partial _{\nu }u=u^q$ on $\partial \mathbf{R}_+^n$ , where $n\ge 3$ and $q>n/(n-2)$ . We investigate the qualitative property of positive $x_n$ -axial symmetric solutions. In particular, we are concerned with the asymptotic expansion and the intersection property of positive $x_n$ -axial symmetric solutions.  相似文献

Denote by ${\mathcal{C}\ell_{p,q}}$ the Clifford algebra on the real vector space ${\mathbb{R}^{p,q}}$ . This paper gives a unified tensor product expression of ${\mathcal{C}\ell_{p,q}}$ by using the center of ${\mathcal{C}\ell_{p,q}}$ . The main result states that for nonnegative integers p, q, ${\mathcal{C}\ell_{p,q} \simeq \otimes^{\kappa-\delta}\mathcal{C}_{1,1} \otimes Cen(\mathcal{C}\ell_{p,q}) \otimes^{\delta} \mathcal{C}\ell_{0,2},}$ where ${p + q \equiv \varepsilon}$ mod 2, ${\kappa = ((p + q) - \varepsilon)/2, p - |q - \varepsilon| \equiv i}$ mod 8 and ${\delta = \lfloor i / 4 \rfloor}$ .  相似文献

We prove that, for every $\alpha > -1$ , the pull-back measure $\varphi ({\mathcal A }_\alpha )$ of the measure $d{\mathcal A }_\alpha (z) = (\alpha + 1) (1 - |z|^2)^\alpha \, d{\mathcal A } (z)$ , where ${\mathcal A }$ is the normalized area measure on the unit disk $\mathbb D $ , by every analytic self-map $\varphi :\mathbb D \rightarrow \mathbb D $ is not only an $(\alpha \,{+}\, 2)$ -Carleson measure, but that the measure of the Carleson windows of size $\varepsilon h$ is controlled by $\varepsilon ^{\alpha + 2}$ times the measure of the corresponding window of size $h$ . This means that the property of being an $(\alpha + 2)$ -Carleson measure is true at all infinitesimal scales. We give an application by characterizing the compactness of composition operators on weighted Bergman–Orlicz spaces.  相似文献

Let $\mathcal{R }$ be a prime ring of characteristic different from $2, \mathcal{Q }_r$ the right Martindale quotient ring of $\mathcal{R }, \mathcal{C }$ the extended centroid of $\mathcal{R }, \mathcal{I }$ a nonzero left ideal of $\mathcal{R }, F$ a nonzero generalized skew derivation of $\mathcal{R }$ with associated automorphism $\alpha $ , and $n,k \ge 1$ be fixed integers. If $[F(r^n),r^n]_k=0$ for all $r \in \mathcal{I }$ , then there exists $\lambda \in \mathcal{C }$ such that $F(x)=\lambda x$ , for all $x\in \mathcal{I }$ . More precisely one of the following holds: (1) $\alpha $ is an $X$ -inner automorphism of $\mathcal{R }$ and there exist $b,c \in \mathcal{Q }_r$ and $q$ invertible element of $\mathcal{Q }_r$ , such that $F(x)=bx-qxq^{-1}c$ , for all $x\in \mathcal{Q }_r$ . Moreover there exists $\gamma \in \mathcal{C }$ such that $\mathcal{I }(q^{-1}c-\gamma )=(0)$ and $b-\gamma q \in \mathcal{C }$ ; (2) $\alpha $ is an $X$ -outer automorphism of $\mathcal{R }$ and there exist $c \in \mathcal{Q }_r, \lambda \in \mathcal{C }$ , such that $F(x)=\lambda x-\alpha (x)c$ , for all $x\in \mathcal{Q }_r$ , with $\alpha (\mathcal{I })c=0$ .  相似文献

For a constant $\alpha \in (-\frac{\pi }{2},\frac{\pi }{2})$ and $0\!\le \!\rho \!<\!1,$ we define the set of all $\alpha $ -spiral-like functions of order $\rho $ consisting of functions $f$ that are univalent on the unit disk and satisfy the condition $ Re\left(e^{-i\alpha }\frac{zf^{\prime }(z)}{f(z)}\right)>\rho \cos \alpha $ for any point $z$ in the unit disk. In the present paper, we shall give the best estimate for the norm of the pre-Schwarzian derivative ${\text{ T}}_f(z)=f^{\prime \prime }(z)/f^{\prime }(z)$ where $||T_f||= \sup (1-|z|^2)|T_f(z)|$ .  相似文献

In this paper, we develop new methods to study generalized normal homogeneous Riemannian manifolds. In particular, we obtain a complete classification of generalized normal homogeneous Riemannian metrics on spheres ${S^n}$ . We prove that for any connected (almost effective) transitive on $S^n$ compact Lie group $G$ , the family of $G$ -invariant Riemannian metrics on $S^n$ contains generalized normal homogeneous but not normal homogeneous metrics if and only if this family depends on more than one parameters and $n\ge 5$ . Any such family (that exists only for $n=2k+1$ ) contains a metric $g_\mathrm{can}$ of constant sectional curvature $1$ on $S^n$ . We also prove that $(S^{2k+1}, g_\mathrm{can})$ is Clifford–Wolf homogeneous, and therefore generalized normal homogeneous, with respect to $G$ (except the groups $G={ SU}(k+1)$ with odd $k+1$ ). The space of unit Killing vector fields on $(S^{2k+1}, g_\mathrm{can})$ from Lie algebra $\mathfrak g $ of Lie group $G$ is described as some symmetric space (except the case $G=U(k+1)$ when one obtains the union of all complex Grassmannians in $\mathbb{C }^{k+1}$ ).  相似文献

Triebel (J Approx Theory 35:275–297, 1982; 52:162–203, 1988) investigated the boundary values of the harmonic functions in spaces of the Triebel–Lizorkin type ${\mathcal F^{\alpha,q}_{p}}$ on ${\mathbb{R}^{n+1}_+}$ by finding an characterization of the homogeneous Triebel–Lizorkin space ${{\bf \dot{F}}^{\alpha,q}_p}$ via its harmonic extension, where ${0 < p < \infty, 0 < q \leq \infty}$ , and ${\alpha < {\rm min}\{-n/p, -n/q\}}$ . In this article, we extend Triebel’s result to α < 0 and ${0 < p, q \leq \infty}$ by using a discrete version of reproducing formula and discretizing the norms in both ${\mathcal{F}^{\alpha,q}_{p}}$ and ${{\bf{\dot{F}}}^{\alpha,q}_p}$ . Furthermore, for α < 0 and ${1 < p,q \leq \infty}$ , the mapping from harmonic functions in ${\mathcal{F}^{\alpha,q}_{p}}$ to their boundary values forms a topological isomorphism between ${\mathcal{F}^{\alpha,q}_{p}}$ and ${{\bf \dot{F}}^{\alpha,q}_p}$ .  相似文献

In this paper, let $n$ be a positive integer and $P=diag(-I_{n-\kappa },I_\kappa ,-I_{n-\kappa },I_\kappa )$ for some integer $\kappa \in [0, n]$ , we prove that for any compact convex hypersurface $\Sigma $ in $\mathbf{R}^{2n}$ with $n\ge 2$ there exist at least two geometrically distinct P-invariant closed characteristics on $\Sigma $ , provided that $\Sigma $ is P-symmetric, i.e., $x\in \Sigma $ implies $Px\in \Sigma $ . This work is shown to extend and unify several earlier works on this subject.  相似文献

The normal rank of a group is the minimal number of elements whose normal closure coincides with the group. We study the relation between the normal rank of a group and its first $\ell ^2$ -Betti number and conjecture the inequality $\beta _1^{(2)}(G) \le \mathrm{nrk}(G)-1$ for torsion free groups. The conjecture is proved for limits of left-orderable amenable groups. On the other hand, for every $n\ge 2$ and every $\varepsilon >0$ , we give an example of a simple group $Q$ (with torsion) such that $\beta _1^{(2)}(Q) \ge n-1-\varepsilon $ . These groups also provide examples of simple groups of rank exactly $n$ for every $n\ge 2$ ; existence of such examples for $n> 3$ was unknown until now.  相似文献

Let $h$ be a transcendental entire function of finite type such that all the coefficients in its Taylor series about the origin are non-negative, $h(x)\! >\!0 \hbox { for } x \!<~0,\,h(0)\ge 1$ and each finite singular value of $h$ is either real or is with unit modulus. For $J(z) = z + (1/z)\hbox { and } n \in \mathbb {N}$ , we define $f_{\lambda }(z)=\lambda J^n(h(z))$ . It is proved that there exists a $\lambda ^{*}$ such that the Julia set of $f_\lambda $ is a nowhere dense subset of $\widehat{\mathbb {C}}\hbox { for }0< \lambda \le \lambda ^*$ whereas it becomes equal to $\widehat{\mathbb {C}}$ for $\lambda >\lambda ^*$ . A detailed study of the Julia sets of Joukowski-exponential maps $\lambda J( e^z+1)$ is undertaken when it is not equal to the whole sphere. Such a Julia set consists of a non-singleton, unbounded and forward invariant component, infinitely many non-singleton bounded components and singleton components. A bounded component of the Julia set eventually not mapped into the unbounded Julia component is singleton if and only if it is not expanding. The Julia set contains two topologically as well as dynamically distinct completely invariant subsets.  相似文献

We establish lower bounds on the dimensions in which arithmetic groups with torsion can act on acyclic manifolds and homology spheres. The bounds rely on the existence of elementary $p$ -groups in the groups concerned. In some cases, including ${\mathrm{Sp}}(2n,\mathbb Z )$ , the bounds we obtain are sharp: if $X$ is a generalized $\mathbb Z /3$ -homology sphere of dimension less than $2n-1$ or a $\mathbb Z /3$ -acyclic $\mathbb Z /3$ -homology manifold of dimension less than $2n$ , and if $n\ge 3$ , then any action of ${\mathrm{Sp}}(2n,\mathbb Z )$ by homeomorphisms on $X$ is trivial; if $n=2$ , then every action of ${\mathrm{Sp}}(2n,\mathbb Z )$ on $X$ factors through the abelianization of ${\mathrm{Sp}}(4,\mathbb Z )$ , which is $\mathbb Z /2$ .  相似文献

Let $\Phi $ be a continuous $n\times n$ matrix-valued function on the unit circle $\mathbb T $ such that the $(k-1)$ st singular value of the Hankel operator with symbol $\Phi $ is greater than the $k$ th singular value. In this case, it is well-known that $\Phi $ has a unique superoptimal meromorphic approximant $Q$ in $H^{\infty }_{(k)}$ ; that is, $Q$ has at most $k$ poles in the unit disc $\mathbb D $ (in the sense that the McMillan degree of $Q$ in $\mathbb D $ is at most $k$ ) and $Q$ minimizes the essential suprema of singular values $s_{j}\left((\Phi -Q)(\zeta )\right)\!, j\ge 0$ , with respect to the lexicographic ordering. For each $j\ge 0$ , the essential supremum of $s_{j}\left((\Phi -Q)(\zeta )\right)$ is called the $j$ th superoptimal singular value of degree $k$ of $\Phi $ . We prove that if $\Phi $ has $n$ non-zero superoptimal singular values of degree $k$ , then the Toeplitz operator $T_{\Phi -Q}$ with symbol $\Phi -Q$ is Fredholm and has index $$ \mathrm{ind}T_{\Phi -Q}=\dim \ker T_{\Phi -Q}=2k+\dim \mathcal E , $$ where $\mathcal E =\{ \xi \in \ker H_{Q}: \Vert H_{\Phi }\xi \Vert _{2}=\Vert (\Phi -Q)\xi \Vert _{2}\}$ and $H_{\Phi }$ denotes the Hankel operator with symbol $\Phi $ . This result can in fact be extended from continuous matrix-valued functions to the wider class of $k$ -admissible matrix-valued functions, i.e. essentially bounded $n\times n$ matrix-valued functions $\Phi $ on $\mathbb T $ for which the essential norm of the Hankel operator $H_{\Phi }$ is strictly less than the smallest non-zero superoptimal singular value of degree $k$ of $\Phi $ .  相似文献

We classify the normal subgroups of the Coxeter group $\varGamma =[5,3,5]$ , and of its even subgroup $\varGamma ^+$ , with quotient isomorphic to a finite simple group $L_2(q)$ . There are infinitely many such normal subgroups of $\varGamma ^+$ , each uniformising a compact orientable hyperbolic $3$ -manifold tessellated by dodecahedra; we determine the isometry groups of these manifolds and the symmetry groups of their tessellations. By contrast there is a single such normal subgroup of $\varGamma $ , uniformising a compact non-orientable $3$ -orbifold with isometry group $PGL_2(19)$ .  相似文献
