Let R be a commutative ring. The total graph of R, denoted by T(Γ(R)) is a graph with all elements of R as vertices, and two distinct vertices x,yR, are adjacent if and only if x+yZ(R), where Z(R) denotes the set of zero-divisors of R. Let regular graph of R, Reg(Γ(R)), be the induced subgraph of T(Γ(R)) on the regular elements of R. Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring and Z(R) is not an ideal. In this paper we show that if T(Γ(R)) is a connected graph, then . Also, we prove that if R is a finite ring, then T(Γ(R)) is a Hamiltonian graph. Finally, we show that if S is a commutative Noetherian ring and Reg(S) is finite, then S is finite.  相似文献

Let R be a ring and let R[x] denote the polynomial ring over R. We study relations between the set of annihilators in R and the set of annihilators in R[x].  相似文献

Ramamurthi proved that weak regularity is equivalent to regularity and biregularity for left Artinian rings. We observe this result under a generalized condition. For a ring R satisfying the ACC on right annihilators, we actually prove that if R is left weakly regular then R is biregular, and that R is left weakly regular if and only if R is a direct sum of a finite number of simple rings. Next we study maximality of strongly prime ideals, showing that a reduced ring R is weakly regular if and only if R is left weakly regular if and only if R is left weakly π-regular if and only if every strongly prime ideal of R is maximal.  相似文献

Let R be a ring with non-zero identity and U(R) be the group of units of R. The unit graph of R, denoted by G(R), is a graph defined on the elements of R, and two distinct vertices r and s are adjacent if and only if r+sU(R). We investigate connectivity, diameter and the girth of the unit graph of a left Artinian ring. Also, by providing an algorithm, we determine when the unit graph of a finite ring is Hamiltonian.  相似文献

Let R be a ring. An R-module M is finitely annihilated if the annihilator of M is the annihilator of a finite subset of M. It is proved that if R has right socle S then the ring R/S is right Artinian if and only if every singular right R-module is finitely annihilated. Moreover, a right Noetherian ring R is right Artinian if and only if every uniform right R-module is finitely annihilated. In addition, a (right and left) Noetherian ring is (right and left) Artinian if and only if every injective right R-module is finitely annihilated. We prove a Wedderburn-Artin type theorem for algebraic prime subalgebras in simple Artinian algebras, giving a generalized version of Yahaghi’s theorem [B.R. Yahaghi, On F-algebras of algebraic matrices over a subfield F of the center of a division ring, Linear Algebra Appl. 418 (2006) 599-613]. We also show that every semiprime left algebraic subring in a semiprime right Goldie ring must be a semiprime Artinian ring.  相似文献

It is well known from Osofsky’s work that the injective hull E(RR) of a ring R need not have a ring structure compatible with its R-module scalar multiplication. A closely related question is: if E(RR) has a ring structure and its multiplication extends its R-module scalar multiplication, must the ring structure be unique? In this paper, we utilize the properties of Morita duality to explicitly describe an injective hull of a ring R with R=Q(R) (where Q(R) is the maximal right ring of quotients of R) such that every injective hull of RR has (possibly infinitely many) distinct compatible ring structures which are mutually ring isomorphic and quasi-Frobenius. Further, these rings have the property that the ring structures for E(RR) also are ring structures on E(RR).  相似文献

We generalize results of Foxby concerning a commutative Nötherian ring to a certain noncommutative Nötherian algebra Λ over a commutative Gorenstein complete local ring. We assume that Λ is a Cohen–Macaulay isolated singularity having a dualizing module. Then the same method as in the commutative cases works and we obtain a category equivalence between two subcategories of mod Λ, one of which includes all finitely generated modules of finite Gorenstein dimension. We give examples of such algebras which are not Gorenstien; orders related to almost Bass orders and some k-Gorenstein algebras for an integer k.Presented by I. For a monoid M, we introduce M-quasi-Armendariz rings which are a generalization of quasi-Armendariz rings, and investigate their properties. The M-quasi-Armendariz condition is a Morita invariant property. The class of M-quasi-Armendariz rings is closed under some kinds of upper triangular matrix rings. Every semiprime ring is M-quasi-Armendariz for any unique product monoid and any strictly totally ordered monoid M. Moreover, we study the relationship between the quasi-Baer property of a ring R and those of the monoid ring R[M]. Every quasi-Baer ring is M-quasi-Armendariz for any unique product monoid and any strictly totally ordered monoid M.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with the study of the decisive dimension defined on the category of left modules over a ring R. We compare the decisive dimension with the Gabriel dimension and other dimensions recently introduced. We give module theoretic as well as lattice theoretic characterizations of rings with decisive dimension. As an application we obtain characterizations of some classes of rings.  相似文献

Let R be a prime ring with characteristic different from 2 and L be a Lie ideal of R. In this paper, we characterize generalized left derivation, which acts as a homomorphisms or an anti-homomorphisms on L.  相似文献

Let A be a finite dimensional algebra over an algebraically closed field with the radical nilpotent of index 2. It is shown that A has finitely many conjugacy classes of left ideals if and only if A is of finite representation type provided that all simple A-modules have dimension at least 6.  相似文献

Let R=P1⊕P2⊕…⊕Pn be a decomposition of a ring into a direct sum of indecomposable left ideals. Assume that these ideals possess the following properties: (1) any nonzero homomorphisms ϕ: Pi→Pj is a monomorphism; (2) if subideals Q1, Q2 of the ideal Pj are isomorphic to the ideal Pi, then there exists a subideal Q3⊆Q1⊎Q2, which is also isomorphic to Pi. It is proved that, under these asumptions, a left quotient ring of the ring R exists. This left quotient ring inherits properties(1), (2) and satisfies condition (3): any nonzero homomorphism ϕ: Pi→Pi is an automorphism of the ideal Pi. Bibliography: 2 titles. Abstract

This paper surveys a selection of results in the literature on torsion preradicals; these are left exact preradical functors on the category of unital right modules over an associative ring with identity. Various well known classes of rings such as semisimple, artinian, perfect and strongly prime are characterized in terms of torsion preradicals. A classification of prime rings using torsion preradicals is also exhibited. Rings all of whose torsion preradicals are radicals and rings whose torsion preradicals commute, are investigated. An application of the latter condition to Jacobson's Conjecture is presented.  相似文献

Let R be a ring with identity and let M be a unital left R-module. A proper submodule L of M is radical if L is an intersection of prime submodules of M. Moreover, a submodule L of M is isolated if, for each proper submodule N of L, there exists a prime submodule K of M such that N ? K but L ? K. It is proved that every proper submodule of M is radical (and hence every submodule of M is isolated) if and only if N ∩ IM = IN for every submodule N of M and every (left primitive) ideal I of R. In case, R/P is an Artinian ring for every left primitive ideal P of R it is proved that a finitely generated submodule N of a nonzero left R-module M is isolated if and only if PN = N ∩ PM for every left primitive ideal P of R. If R is a commutative ring, then a finitely generated submodule N of a projective R-module M is isolated if and only if N is a direct summand of M.  相似文献

Let k be a field and let Λ be an indecomposable finite dimensional k-algebra such that there is a stable equivalence of Morita type between Λ and a self-injective split basic Nakayama algebra over k. We show that every indecomposable finitely generated Λ-module V has a universal deformation ring R(Λ,V) and we describe R(Λ,V) explicitly as a quotient ring of a power series ring over k in finitely many variables. This result applies in particular to Brauer tree algebras, and hence to p-modular blocks of finite groups with cyclic defect groups.  相似文献

A ring R is called left morphic if for every aR. A left and right morphic ring is called a morphic ring. If Mn(R) is morphic for all n≥1 then R is called a strongly morphic ring. A well-known result of Erlich says that a ring R is unit regular iff it is both (von Neumann) regular and left morphic. A new connection between morphic rings and unit regular rings is proved here: a ring R is unit regular iff R[x]/(xn) is strongly morphic for all n≥1 iff R[x]/(x2) is morphic. Various new families of left morphic or strongly morphic rings are constructed as extensions of unit regular rings and of principal ideal domains. This places some known examples in a broader context and answers some existing questions.  相似文献

One of our main results is a classification of all the weakly symmetric radical cube zero finite dimensional algebras over an algebraically closed field having a theory of support via the Hochschild cohomology ring satisfying Dade’s Lemma. In the process we give a characterization of when a finite dimensional Koszul algebra has such a theory of support in terms of the graded centre of the Koszul dual.  相似文献

It is shown that for every countable field K, there is a finitely generated graded Jacobson radical algebra over K of Gelfand-Kirillov dimension two. Examples of finitely generated Jacobson radical algebras of Gelfand-Kirillov dimension two over algebraic extensions of finite fields of characteristic 2 were earlier constructed by Bartholdi [L. Bartholdi, Branch Rings, thinned rings, tree enveloping rings, Israel J. Math. (in press)].  相似文献

Let F be an infinite field of characteristic different from 2. Let G be a torsion group having an involution ∗, and consider the units of the group ring FG that are symmetric with respect to the induced involution. We classify the groups G such that these symmetric units satisfy a nilpotency identity (x1,…,xn)=1.  相似文献
