We investigate sharp frame bounds of Gabor frames with chirped Gaussians and rectangular lattices or, equivalently, the case of the standard Gaussian and general lattices. We prove that for even redundancy and standard Gaussian window the hexagonal lattice minimizes the upper frame bound using a result by Montgomery on minimal theta functions.  相似文献

We prove Cardy's formula for rectangular crossing probabilities in dependent site percolation models that arise from a deterministic cellular automaton with a random initial state. The cellular automaton corresponds to the zero-temperature case of Domany's stochastic Ising ferromagnet on the hexagonal lattice  (with alternating updates of two sublattices) [7]; it may also be realized on the triangular lattice 𝕋 with flips when a site disagrees with six, five and sometimes four of its six neighbors. In 1963 Fisher and Stephenson (Phys. Rev. (2) 132 (1963) 1411) conjectured that the monomer-monomer correlation on the square lattice is rotationally invariant. In this paper we prove a closely related statement on the hexagonal lattice. Namely, we consider correlations of two quadromers (four-vertex subgraphs consisting of a monomer and its three neighbors) and show that they are rotationally invariant.  相似文献

We consider the exponential generating function whose coefficients encode the dimensions of irreducible highest weight representations which lie on a given ray in the dominant chamber of the weight lattice. This formal power series can be considered as an exponential version of the Hilbert series of a flag variety. In this context, we compute a simple closed form for the exponential generating function in terms of finitely many differential operators and the Stirling polynomials. We prove that this series converges to a product of a rational polynomial and an exponential, and that, by summing the constant term and linear coefficient of this polynomial, we recover the dimension of the representation.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the conjugacy growth function of a group, which counts the number of conjugacy classes which intersect a ball of radius n centered at the identity. We prove that in the case of virtually polycyclic groups, this function is either exponential or polynomially bounded, and is polynomially bounded exactly when the group is virtually nilpotent. The proof is fairly short, and makes use of the fact that any polycyclic group has a subgroup of finite index which can be embedded as a lattice in a Lie group, as well as exponential radical of Lie groups and Dirichlet’s approximation theorem.  相似文献

We investigate the effect of the anisotropy of a harmonic trap on the behaviour of a fast rotating Bose-Einstein condensate. This is done in the framework of the 2D Gross-Pitaevskii equation and requires a symplectic reduction of the quadratic form defining the energy. This reduction allows us to simplify the energy on a Bargmann space and study the asymptotics of large rotational velocity. We characterize two regimes of velocity and anisotropy; in the first one where the behaviour is similar to the isotropic case, we construct an upper bound: a hexagonal Abrikosov lattice of vortices, with an inverted parabola profile. The second regime deals with very large velocities, a case in which we prove that the ground state does not display vortices in the bulk, with a 1D limiting problem. In that case, we show that the coarse grained atomic density behaves like an inverted parabola with large radius in the deconfined direction but keeps a fixed profile given by a Gaussian in the other direction. The features of this second regime appear as new phenomena.  相似文献

First we establish some sufficient conditions for the existence of pullback exponential attractors by using $\omega-$limit compactness in the framework of process. Then we provide a new method to prove the existence of pullback exponential attractors. We obtain a first order differential equation for the driving function of the chordal Loewner differential equation in the case where the domain is slit by a curve which is a trajectory arc of a certain type of quadratic differential. In particular this includes the case when the curve is a path on the square, triangle or hexagonal lattice in the upper half-plane or, indeed, in any domain with boundary on the lattice. We also demonstrate how we use this to calculate the driving function numerically. Equivalent results for other variants of the Loewner differential equation are also obtained.  相似文献

We produce an explicit parameterization of well-rounded sublattices of the hexagonal lattice in the plane, splitting them into similarity classes. We use this parameterization to study the number, the greatest minimal norm, and the highest signal-to-noise ratio of well-rounded sublattices of the hexagonal lattice of a fixed index. This investigation parallels earlier work by Bernstein, Sloane, and Wright where similar questions were addressed on the space of all sublattices of the hexagonal lattice. Our restriction is motivated by the importance of well-rounded lattices for discrete optimization problems. Finally, we also discuss the existence of a natural combinatorial structure on the set of similarity classes of well-rounded sublattices of the hexagonal lattice, induced by the action of a certain matrix monoid.  相似文献

We consider a system of three arbitrary quantum particles on a one-dimensional lattice interacting pairwise via attractive contact potentials. We prove that the discrete spectrum of the corresponding Schr?dinger operator is finite for all values of the total quasimomentum in the case where the masses of two particles are finite. We prove exponential spectral localization in a two-particle lattice Anderson model, with a short-range interaction and an external i.i.d. random potential, at sufficiently low energies. The proof is based on the multi-particle multi-scale analysis developed earlier in Chulaevsky and Suhov (2009) [4] in the case of high disorder. Our method applies to a larger class of random potentials than in Aizenman and Warzel (2009) [2] where dynamical localization was proved with the help of the fractional moment method.  相似文献

We prove a long-standing conjecture on random-cluster models, namely that the critical point for such models with parameter q?≥?1 on the square lattice is equal to the self-dual point ${p_{sd}(q) = \sqrt{q} / (1+\sqrt{q})}$ . This gives a proof that the critical temperature of the q-state Potts model is equal to ${\log (1+\sqrt q)}$ for all q?≥ 2. We further prove that the transition is sharp, meaning that there is exponential decay of correlations in the sub-critical phase. The techniques of this paper are rigorous and valid for all q?≥ 1, in contrast to earlier methods valid only for certain given q. The proof extends to the triangular and the hexagonal lattices as well.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a Timoshenko system with a delay term in the feedback and prove a stability result. The beam is clamped at the endpoints and has, in addition to an internal damping, a feedback with a delay.Under an appropriate assumption on the weights of the two feedbacks, we prove the well-posedness of the system and establish an exponential decay result for the case of equal-speed wave propagation.  相似文献

In this letter we examine the interrelation between Noether symmetries, master symmetries and recursion operators for the Toda lattice. In this paper we obtain for the first time nonlinear conditions for the existence of the exponential trichotomy of skew-product flows in infinite dimensional spaces. We treat the most general case without any additional assumptions concerning the cocycle and without assuming a priori the existence of the projection families. We show that an inedit assembly of integral conditions imply the existence of the exponential trichotomy with all of its properties and we prove that the imposed conditions are also necessary. Our results generalize the previous studies on this topic and provide as particular cases many interesting situations, among which we mention the detection of the exponential trichotomy of general non-autonomous systems.  相似文献

A major result about perturbations of integrable Hamiltonian systems is the Nekhoroshev theorem, which gives exponential stability for all solutions provided the system is analytic and the integrable Hamiltonian is generic. In the particular but important case where the latter is quasi-convex, these exponential estimates have been generalized by Marco and Sauzin if the Hamiltonian is Gevrey regular, using a method introduced by Lochak in the analytic case. In this paper, using the same approach, we investigate the situation where the Hamiltonian is assumed to be only finitely differentiable, for which it is known that exponential stability does not hold but nevertheless we prove estimates of polynomial stability.  相似文献

We consider a particular class of families of multi-dimensional lattice Schrödinger operators with deterministic (e.g., quasi-periodic) potentials generated by the “hull” given by an orthogonal series over the Haar wavelet basis on the torus of arbitrary dimension, with expansion coefficients considered as independent parameters. In the strong disorder regime, we prove Anderson localization for generic operator families and show that all localized eigenfunctions are unimodal and feature uniform exponential decay away from their respective localization centers. We also prove a variant of the Minami estimate for deterministic potentials and simplicity of the spectrum.  相似文献

We consider the spectral problem for the random Schrödinger operator on the multidimensional lattice torus increasing to the whole of lattice, with an i.i.d. potential (Anderson Hamiltonian). We prove complete Poisson-type limit theorems for the (normalized) eigenvalues and their locations, provided that the upper tails of the distribution of potential decay at infinity slower than the double exponential tails. For the fractional-exponential tails, the strong influence of the parameters of the model on a specification of the normalizing constants is described.  相似文献

In this paper, we study convolutions of heterogeneous exponential random variables with respect to the mean residual life order. By introducing a new partial order (reciprocal majorization order), we prove that this order between two parameter vectors implies the mean residual life order between convolutions of two heterogeneous exponential samples. For the 2-dimensional case, it is shown that there exists a stronger equivalence. We discuss, in particular, the case when one convolution involves identically distributed variables, and show in this case that the mean residual life order is actually associated with the harmonic mean of parameters. Finally, we derive the “best gamma bounds” for the mean residual life function of any convolution of exponential distributions under this framework.  相似文献
