In this paper, a new fuzzy linear programming based methodology using a specific membership function, named as modified logistic membership function is proposed. The modified logistic membership function is first formulated and its flexibility in taking up vagueness in parameters is established by an analytical approach. This membership function is tested for its useful performance through an illustrative example by employing fuzzy linear programming. The developed methodology of FLP has provided a confidence in applying to real life industrial production planning problem. This approach of solving industrial production planning problem can have feed back within the decision maker, the implementer and the analyst. In such case this approach can be called as IFLP (Interactive Fuzzy Linear Programming). There is a possibility to design the self organizing of fuzzy system for the mix products selection problem in order to find the satisfactory solution. The decision maker, the analyst and the implementer can incorporate their knowledge and experience to obtain the best outcome.  相似文献

Any modern industrial manufacturing unit inevitably faces problemsof vagueness in various aspects such as raw material availability,human resource availability, processing capability and constraintsand limitations imposed by the marketing department. Such acomplex problem of vagueness and uncertainty can be handledby the theory of fuzzy logic. In this paper, a new fuzzy logicbased methodology using a S-curve membership function is usedto solve a fuzzy mix product selection problem in industrialengineering. Profits and satisfaction levels have been computedusing a fuzzy linear programming approach. An efficient inventory planning approach in today’s global trading regime is necessary not only for increasing the profit margin, but also to maintain system flexibility for achieving higher customer satisfaction. Such an approach should hence be comprised of a prudent inventory policy and clear satisfaction of stakeholder’s goals. Relative significance given to various objectives in a supply chain network varies with product as well as time. In this paper, a model is proposed to fill this void for a single product inventory control of a supply chain consisting of three echelons. A generic modification proposed to the membership functions of the fuzzy goal-programming approach is used to mathematically map the aspiration levels of the decision maker. The bacterial foraging algorithm has been modified with enhancement of the algorithms’ capability to map integer solution spaces and utilised to solve resulting fuzzy multi-objective function. An illustrative example comprehensively covers various decision scenarios and highlights the underlying managerial insights.  相似文献

In this paper, by considering the experts' vague or fuzzy understanding of the nature of the parameters in the problem formulation process, multiobjective linear fractional programming problems with block angular structure involving fuzzy numbers are formulated. Using the a-level sets of fuzzy numbers, the corresponding nonfuzzy a-multiobjective linear fractional programming problem is introduced. The fuzzy goals of the decision maker for the objective functions are quantified by eliciting the corresponding membership functions including nonlinear ones. Through the introduction of extended Pareto optimality concepts, if the decision maker specifies the degree a and the reference membership values, the corresponding extended Pareto optimal solution can be obtained by solving the minimax problems for which the Dantzig-Wolfe decomposition method and Ritter's partitioning procedure are applicable. Then a linear programming-based interactive fuzzy satisficing method with decomposition procedures for deriving a satisficing solution for the decision maker efficiently from an extended Pareto optimal solution set is presented. An illustrative numerical example is provided to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.  相似文献

Many nearest parametric approximation methods of fuzzy sets are proposed in the literature. It is clear that the specific approximations may lead to the loss of information about fuzziness. To overcome this problem, most of these methods rely on the minimization of the distance between the original fuzzy set and its approximation. But these approximations mostly are not flexible to the decision maker's choice. Hence, in this paper, we offer a parametric fuzzy approximation method based on the decision maker's strategy as an extension of trapezoidal approximation of a fuzzy number. This method comprises the selection of the form of the parametric membership function and its evaluation.  相似文献

Evaluation of the degree of membership in fuzzy sets is a fundamental topic in fuzzy set theory. Saaty (Ref. 1) proposes a method for solving this problem that has been widely accepted. In this paper, we examine the problem from an error minimization point of view that attempts to reflect the real intentions of the decision maker. When this approach is used, the findings reveal that fuzzy sets of different cardinalities have dramatically different requirements in the consistency level of the input data as far as the error minimization criterion is concerned.  相似文献

Product-mix decision through theory of constraints (TOC) should take into account considerations like the decision-maker’s (DM) level of satisfaction in order to make product-mix decision a robust one. Sensitivity of the decision made, needs to be focused for a bottle-neck-free, optimal product-mix solution of TOC problem. A membership function (MF) has been suitably designed in the present work, first in finding out the degree of imprecision in the product-mix decision, and thereafter to sense the level of satisfaction of the DM. Inefficiency of traditional linear programming (LP) in handling multiple-bottleneck problem through TOC has been discussed through an illustrative example. Comparison of traditional LP over fully fuzzified-LP (FLP) model has also been addressed to elucidate the advantages of FLP in TOC. Key objective of this work is to guide DMs in finding out the optimal product-mix with higher degree of satisfaction with lesser degree of fuzziness under tripartite fuzzy environment.  相似文献

This paper describes the use of preemptive priority based fuzzy goal programming method to fuzzy multiobjective fractional decision making problems under the framework of multistage dynamic programming. In the proposed approach, the membership functions for the defined objective goals with fuzzy aspiration levels are determined first without linearizing the fractional objectives which may have linear or nonlinear forms. Then the problem is solved recursively for achievement of the highest membership value (unity) by using priority based goal programming methodology at each decision stages and thereby identifying the optimal decision in the present decision making arena. Mixed-integer optimization models for chemical process planning typically assume that model parameters can be accurately predicted. As precise forecasts are difficult to obtain, process planning usually involves uncertainty and ambiguity in the data. This paper presents an application of fuzzy programming to process planning. The forecast parameters are assumed to be fuzzy with a linear or triangular membership function. The process planning problem is then formulated in terms of decision making in a fuzzy environment with fuzzy constraints and fuzzy net present value goals. The model is transformed to a deterministic mixed-integer linear program or mixed-integer nonlinear program depending on the type of uncertainty involved in the problem. For the nonlinear case, a global optimization algorithm is developed for its solution. This algorithm is applicable to general possibilistic programs and can be used as an alternative to the commonly used bisection method. Illustrative examples and computational results for a petrochemical complex with 38 processes and 24 products illustrate the applicability of the developed models and algorithms.  相似文献

This paper proposes a new approach to formulating fuzzy priorities in a goal programming problem. The proposed methodology remedies certain shortcomings of the composite membership function approach discussed in previous works [7, 10]. The principal advantage of the proposed method is that it leads to a formulation in which tradeoffs between goals more closely reflect the decision maker's intentions than in other noninteractive approaches [8, 9, 10, 14], in some of which a fixed hierarchy of goals is assumed.  相似文献

This paper describes the use of fuzzy set theory in goal programming (GP) problems. In particular, it is demonstrated how fuzzy or imprecise aspirations of the decision maker (DM) can be quantified through the use of piecewise linear and continuous functions. Models are then presented for the use of fuzzy goal programming with preemptive priorities, with Archimedean weights, and with the maximization of the membership function corresponding to the minimum goal. When modelling specific decision situations the decision maker often feels overstrained when he is asked for precise numerical quotations concerning the objectives or the constraints, whereas qualitative statements are easily given. In the recent past the theory of fuzzy sets has proven to be very useful for representing this type of information. Though it is quite advanced formally, the practical determination of its core elements, i.e. membership functions and operators, has only been explored to a very limited extent. This paper presents results of empirical research which focused on the problem of modelling vagueness, i.e. determining membership functions of fuzzy sets which are considered as quantitative representations of vague concepts such as ‘young man’, ‘long sticks’, ‘high profits’, etc.  相似文献

In this paper, we focus on multiobjective nonconvex nonlinear programming problems and present an interactive fuzzy satisficing method through floating point genetic algorithms. After determining the fuzzy goals of the decision maker, if the decision maker specifies the reference membership values, the corresponding Pareto optimal solution can be obtained by solving the augmented minimax problems for which the floating point genetic algorithm, called GENOCOP III, is applicable. In order to overcome the drawbacks of GENOCOP III, we propose the revised GENOCOP III by introducing a method for generating an initial feasible point and a bisection method for generating a new feasible point efficiently. Then an interactive fuzzy satisficing method for deriving a satisficing solution for the decision maker efficiently from a Pareto optimal solution set is presented together with an illustrative numerical example.  相似文献

The class of fuzzy linear fractional optimization problems with fuzzy coefficients in the objective function is considered in this paper. We propose a parametric method for computing the membership values of the extreme points in the fuzzy set solution to such problems. We replace the exhaustive computation of the membership values—found in the literature for solving the same class of problems—by a parametric analysis of the efficiency of the feasible basic solutions to the bi-objective linear fractional programming problem through the optimality test in a related linear programming problem, thus simplifying the computation. An illustrative example from the field of production planning is included in the paper to complete the theoretical presentation of the solving approach, but also to emphasize how many real life problems may be modelled mathematically using fuzzy linear fractional optimization.  相似文献

This study addresses an interactive multiple fuzzy goal programming (FGP) approach to the multi-period multi-product (MPMP) production planning problem in an imprecise environment. The proposed model attempts to simultaneously minimize total production costs, rates of changes in labor levels, and maximizing machine utilization, while considering individual production routes of parts, inventory levels, labor levels, machine capacity, warehouse space, and the time value of money. Piecewise linear membership functions are utilized to represent decision maker’s (DM’s) overall satisfaction levels. A numerical example demonstrates the feasibility of applying the proposed model to the MPMP problem. Furthermore, the proposed interactive approach facilitates the DM with a systematic framework of decision making process which enables DM to modify the search direction to reach the most satisfactory results during solving process.  相似文献

The inventory policy, meant as a replenishment rule, has a considerable impact on most firms. The paper considers the determination of optimal inventory policy of firms from a global viewpoint of top management. The inventory is represented as a fuzzy system with the fuzzy inventory level as the output, the fuzzy replenishment as the input and fuzzy demand. The control problem is formulated in terms of decision-making in a fuzzy environment with fuzzy constraints imposed on replenishments, a fuzzy goal for preferable inventory levels to be attained and the fuzzy decision as the intersection of fuzzy constraints and the fuzzy goal at subsequent stages. The planning horizon is infinite. The problem is to find an optimal time-invariant strategy relating the optimal replenishments to the current inventory levels, maximizing the membership function of fuzzy decision. The existence of such a strategy is proved and an algorithm for its determination is given. The optimal time-invariant strategy obtained is represented as a fuzzy conditional statement equated with a fuzzy relation which is the firm's optimal fuzzy replenishment rule.  相似文献
