Classical reductions of a (2+1)-dimensional integrable Schwarz–Korteweg–de Vries equation are classified. These reductions to systems of partial differential equations in 1+1 dimensions admit symmetries that lead to further reductions, i.e., to systems of ordinary differential equations. All these systems have been reduced to second-order ordinary differential equations. We present some particular solutions involving two arbitrary functions.  相似文献

We use the classical and nonclassical methods to obtain symmetry reductions and exact solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional integrable Calogero–Bogoyavlenskii–Schiff equation. Although this (2+1)-dimensional equation arises in a nonlocal form, it can be written as a system of differential equations and, in potential form, as a fourth-order partial differential equation. The classical and nonclassical methods yield some exact solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional equation that involve several arbitrary functions and hence exhibit a rich variety of qualitative behavior.  相似文献

We prove that the equations describing compatible N×N metrics of constant Riemannian curvature define a special class of integrable N-parameter deformations of quasi-Frobenius (in general, noncommutative) algebras. We discuss connections with open–closed two-dimensional topological field theories, associativity equations, and Frobenius and quasi-Frobenius manifolds. We conjecture that open–closed two-dimensional topological field theories correspond to a special class of integrable deformations of associative quasi-Frobenius algebras.  相似文献

We prove that two Dubrovin–Novikov Hamiltonian operators are compatible if and only if one of these operators is the Lie derivative of the other operator along a certain vector field. We consider the class of flat manifolds, which correspond to arbitrary pairs of compatible Dubrovin–Novikov Hamiltonian operators. Locally, these manifolds are defined by solutions of a system of nonlinear equations, which is integrable by the method of the inverse scattering problem. We construct the integrable hierarchies generated by arbitrary pairs of compatible Dubrovin–Novikov Hamiltonian operators.  相似文献

A class of integrable differential–difference systems is constructed based on auxiliary linear equations defined on sequences of Zakharov–Shabat formal dressing operators. We show that the auxiliary equations are compatible with the evolution equations for the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy. The investigation results are used to elaborate a modified version of Krichever rational reductions for KP hierarchies.  相似文献

Classifying Integrable Egoroff Hydrodynamic Chains   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We introduce the notion of Egoroff hydrodynamic chains. We show how they are related to integrable (2+1)-dimensional equations of hydrodynamic type. We classify these equations in the simplest case. We find (2+1)-dimensional equations that are not just generalizations of the already known Khokhlov–Zabolotskaya and Boyer–Finley equations but are much more involved. These equations are parameterized by theta functions and by solutions of the Chazy equations. We obtain analogues of the dispersionless Hirota equations.  相似文献

One of the more interesting solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional integrable Schwarz–Korteweg–de Vries (SKdV) equation is the soliton solutions. We previously derived a complete group classification for the SKdV equation in 2+1 dimensions. Using classical Lie symmetries, we now consider traveling-wave reductions with a variable velocity depending on the form of an arbitrary function. The corresponding solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional equation involve up to three arbitrary smooth functions. Consequently, the solutions exhibit a rich variety of qualitative behaviors. In particular, we show the interaction of a Wadati soliton with a line soliton. Moreover, via a Miura transformation, the SKdV is closely related to the Ablowitz–Kaup–Newell–Segur (AKNS) equation in 2+1 dimensions. Using classical Lie symmetries, we consider traveling-wave reductions for the AKNS equation in 2+1 dimensions. It is interesting that neither of the (2+1)-dimensional integrable systems considered admit Virasoro-type subalgebras.  相似文献

We discuss the string picture behind the integrable spin chains governing the evolution equations in the Yang—Mills theory. We show that the one-loop correction to the dilatation operator in the N=4 theory can be expressed in terms of two-point correlation functions on the two-dimensional worldsheet. Using the relation between the Neumann integrable system and spin chains, we argue that the transition to the finite gauge-theory coupling implies discretization of the worldsheet. We conjecture that the string-bit model for the discretized worldsheet corresponds to the representation of the integrable spin chains in terms of the separated variables.Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Matematicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 142, No. 2, pp. 179–196, February, 2005.  相似文献

We discuss the semiclassical geometry and integrable systems related to the gauge—string duality. We analyze semiclassical solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations arising in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence, comparing them to stationary phase equations for the matrix integrals. We demonstrate how the underlying geometry is related to the integrable sigma models of the dual string theory and investigate some details of this correspondence.Translated from Teoreticheskaya Matematicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 142, No. 2, pp. 265–283, February, 2005.  相似文献

The completely integrable Hamiltonian systems discovered by Calogero and FranÇoise contain the finite-dimensional reductions of the Camassa–Holm and Hunter–Saxton equations. We show that the associated spectral problem has the same form as that of the periodic discrete Camassa–Holm equation. The flow is linearized by the Abel map on a hyperelliptic curve. For two-particle systems, which correspond to genus-1 curves, explicit solutions are obtained in terms of the Weierstrass elliptic functions.  相似文献

We solve the problem of describing all nonsingular pairs of compatible flat metrics (or, in other words, nonsingular flat pencils of metrics) in the general N-component case. This problem is equivalent to the problem of describing all compatible Dubrovin–Novikov brackets (compatible nondegenerate local Poisson brackets of hydrodynamic type) playing an important role in the theory of integrable systems of hydrodynamic type and also in modern differential geometry and field theory. We prove that all nonsingular pairs of compatible flat metrics are described by a system of nonlinear differential equations that is a special nonlinear differential reduction of the classical Lamé equations, and we present a scheme for integrating this system by the method of the inverse scattering problem. The integration procedure is based on using the Zakharov method for integrating the Lamé equations (a version of the inverse scattering method).  相似文献

We present a system of integrable second-order differential equations for three fields in the three-dimensional space–time. The system is obtained as the continuum limit of discrete equations for a triplet of tau-functions. We give a parameterization of the soliton solutions of equations of motion, describe the linear problem, and establish the integrability of the corresponding classical field theory.  相似文献

We show how classical modular forms and functions appear as tau-functions for a certain integrable reduction of the self-dual Yang-Mills equations obtained by S. Chakravarty, M. Ablowitz, and P. Clarkson [6]. We discuss possible consequences of this novel phenomenon in integrable systems which indicate deep connections between integrable equations, group representations, modular forms, and moduli spaces. In Memory of Prof. M. Briefly outlining our recent work, we construct a family of nonautonomous integrable systems (deformations of the principal chiral model) in connection with the Hurwitz spaces of meromorphic functions on the Riemann sphere, cylinder, and torus. We give differential equations describing the dependence of the critical points of the rational, elliptic, and trigonometric functions on the critical values. We outline a relation to the deformation framework of Burtzev–Mikhailov–Zakharov.  相似文献

It is shown how to derive master symmetries for nonlinear lattice equations systematically using the basic principles but without using either their zero curvature equations or the bi-Hamiltonian structure. This has been illustrated for Volterra equation, two coupled Belov–Chaltikian (BC), and three coupled Blaszak–Marciniak (BM) lattice equations. The existence of a sequence of master symmetries is one of the characteristics of completely integrable nonlinear partial differential and differential–difference equations admitting Hamiltonian structure.  相似文献

We consider a method aimed at the investigation of completely integrable dynamical systems by using the Lax representation of their equations of motion. The Lax representations are found for the integrable case of the Henon-Heiles system and for an anisotropic oscillator.Translated from Ukrainskii Matematicheskii Zhurnal, Vol. 46, No. 8, pp. 1088–1091, August, 1994.  相似文献

We show that bi-Hamiltonian structures of systems of hydrodynamic type can be described in terms of solutions of nonlinear equations. These equations can be integrated by the inverse scattering transform for arbitrary metrics as well as for flat ones. In particular, if one metric is flat and the other has a constant curvature, then the corresponding integrable system is a reduction of the Cherednik chiral-field model.Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Matematicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 142, No. 2, pp. 293–309, February, 2005.  相似文献

A special class of integrable Fuchsian systems on C n related to KZ equations is considered. We survey the construction of such systems and the list of the structural properties their monodromy representations. The relation of the Fuchsian systems obtained by the Veselov construction assosiated with a deformation of the A n–1-type root system and the Gauss–Manin connection of the natural projection C n C n–1 is described. In this case, we prove that the monodromy representation is equivalent to the Burau representation of the Artin braid group. For a deformations of the other root system, we introduce generalized Burau representations. We conjecture that the integrable Fuchsian systems related to essential new finite sets of the vectors described by Veselov and Chalykh are the result of the Klares–Schlesinger isomonodromic deformations (or transformation) of the integrable Fuchsian system related to the Coxeter root systems.  相似文献

Frobenius integrable decompositions are presented for a kind of ninth-order partial differential equations of specific polynomial type. Two classes of such partial differential equations possessing Frobenius integrable decompositions are connected with two rational Bäcklund transformations of dependent variables. The presented partial differential equations are of constant coefficients, and the corresponding Frobenius integrable ordinary differential equations possess higher-order nonlinearity. The proposed method can be also easily extended to the study of partial differential equations with variable coefficients.  相似文献
