The question of the existence of non-trivial ideals of Lie algebras of compact operators is considered from different points of view. One of the approaches is based on the concept of a tractable Lie algebra, which can be of interest independently of the main theme of the paper. Among other results it is shown that an infinite-dimensional closed Lie or Jordan algebra of compact operators cannot be simple. Several partial answers to Wojtyński’s problem on the topological simplicity of Lie algebras of compact quasinilpotent operators are also given.  相似文献

IfA is a nest algebra andA s=A ∩ A* , whereA* is the set of the adjoints of the operators lying inA, then the pair (A, A s) forms a partial Jordan *-triple. Important tools when investigating the structure of a partial Jordan *-triple are its tripotents. In particular, given an orthogonal family of tripotents of the partial Jordan *-triple (A, A s), the nest algebraA splits into a direct sum of subspaces known as the Peirce decomposition relative to that family. In this paper, the Peirce decomposition relative to an orthogonal family of minimal tripotents is used to investigate the structure of the inner ideals of (A, A s), whereA is a nest algebra associated with an atomic nest. A property enjoyed by inner ideals of the partial Jordan *-triple (A, A s) is presented as the main theorem. This result is then applied in the final part of the paper to provide examples of inner ideals. A characterization of the minimal tripotents as a certain class of rank one operators is also obtained as a means to deduce the principal theorem.  相似文献

Abstract

We prove lemmas in Andrunakievich s-varieties on the transitivity of the relation “is an ideal of” and concerning subdirectly irreducible factor rings. Applying these lemmas we show that a Plotkin radical introduced in [8] has the ADS-property and is ideal hereditary. These lemmas are applicable in proving a subdirect decomposition for rings having an ideal with 0 antisimple radical. For Jordan algebras and near-rings (they do not form Andrunakievich varieties) we can prove a similar subdirect decomposition concerning ideals with 0 Brown-McCoy radical.  相似文献

The concept of a semiprime ideal in a poset is introduced. The relations between the semiprime (prime) ideals of a poset and the ideals of the set of all ideals of the poset are established. A result analogous to Separation Theorem is obtained in respect of semiprime ideals. Further, a generalization of Stone’s Separation Theorem for posets is obtained in respect of prime ideals. A Goldie theory for Jordan pairs is started in this paper. We introduce a notion of order in linear Jordan pairs and study orders in nondegenerate linear Jordan pairs with descending chain condition on principal inner ideals. In this paper we introduce Martindale quotients of Jordan algebras over arbitrary rings of scalars with respect to denominator filters of ideals. For any denominatored algebra, we show the existence of maximal Martindale quotients naturally containing all Martindale quotients of the algebra with respect to the given denominator filter.  相似文献

Jordan (J Econ Theory 131(1):26–44, 2006) defined ‘pillage games’, a class of cooperative games whose dominance operator is represented by a ‘power function’ satisfying coalitional and resource monotonicity axioms. In this environment, he proved that stable sets must be finite. We provide a graph theoretical interpretation of the problem which tightens the finite bound to a Ramsey number. We study Stanley decompositions and show that Stanley’s conjecture on Stanley decompositions implies his conjecture on partitionable Cohen–Macaulay simplicial complexes. We also prove these conjectures for all Cohen–Macaulay monomial ideals of codimension 2 and all Gorenstein monomial ideals of codimension 3. The commutative algebras satisfying the “adjoint identity”: , where N is a cubic form, are shown to be related to a class of generically algebraic Jordan algebras of degree at most 4 and to the pseudo-composition algebras. They are classified under a nondegeneracy condition. As byproducts, the associativity of the norm of any pseudo-composition algebra is proven and the unital commutative and power-associative algebras of degree are shown to be Jordan algebras.
