We study several families of semisimple Hopf algebras, arising as bismash products, which are constructed from finite groups with a certain specified factorization. First we associate a bismash product Hq of dimension q(q−1)(q+1) to each of the finite groups PGL2(q) and show that these Hq do not have the structure (as algebras) of group algebras (except when q=2,3). As a corollary, all Hopf algebras constructed from them by a comultiplication twist also have this property and are thus non-trivial. We also show that bismash products constructed from Frobenius groups do have the structure (as algebras) of group algebras.  相似文献

We define a new notion of cuspidality for representations of GL n over a finite quotient o k of the ring of integers o of a non-Archimedean local field F using geometric and infinitesimal induction functors, which involve automorphism groups G λ of torsion o-modules. When n is a prime, we show that this notion of cuspidality is equivalent to strong cuspidality, which arises in the construction of supercuspidal representations of GL n (F). We show that strongly cuspidal representations share many features of cuspidal representations of finite general linear groups. In the function field case, we show that the construction of the representations of GL n (o k ) for k ≥ 2 for all n is equivalent to the construction of the representations of all the groups G λ . A functional equation for zeta functions for representations of GL n (o k ) is established for representations which are not contained in an infinitesimally induced representation. All the cuspidal representations for GL4(o2) are constructed. Not all these representations are strongly cuspidal.  相似文献

We introduce the notions of self-dual (graded) Hopf algebras and of structurally simple (graded) Hopf algebras. We prove that the self-dual Hopf algebras are structurally simple and provide a construction of self-dual Hopf algebras. Finally, we classify the self-dual quotients of the form TB (M)/I, where TB (M) is a path algebra with a graded Hopf algebra structure, and I is a graded admissible Hopf ideal.  相似文献

We study the quasitriangular structures for a family of pointed Hopf algebras which is big enough to include Taft's Hopf algebras H n 2, Radford's Hopf algebras H N,n,q, and E(n). We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the Hopf algebras in our family to be quasitriangular. For the case when they are, we determine completely all the quasitriangular structures. Also, we determine the ribbon elements of the quasitriangular Hopf algebras and the quasi-ribbon elements of their Drinfel'd double.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Let M be the k  ×  m matrices over ?. The GL ( k ) ×  GL ( m ) decompositions of the symmetric and of the exterior powers of M are described by two classical theorems. We describe a theorem for Lie superalgebras, which implies both of these classical theorems as special cases. The constructions of both the exterior and the symmetric algebras are generalized to a class of algebras defined by partitions. That superalgebra theorem is further generalized to these algebras.  相似文献

We prove that certain algebra quotients of Hopf algebras are twisted Hopf algebras. On the other handuq (sl(2)) is a crossed product of a central subalgebra with a quotient [Ubar], when q is a root of 1. Using the cocycle involved in this crossed product we construct non-trivial complex cocycles τ and we find the isomorphism classes of the corresponding twisted Hopf algebras τ [Ubar]. These provide complex projective representations of [Ubar] which are not ordinary representations.  相似文献

We introduce a three-parameter family of two-dimensional algebras representing elements in the Brauer group BQ(k,H 4) of Sweedler Hopf algebra H 4 over a field k. They allow us to describe the mutual intersection of the subgroups arising from a quasitriangular or coquasitriangular structure. We also define a new subgroup of BQ(k,H 4) and construct an exact sequence relating it to the Brauer group of Nichols 8-dimensional Hopf algebra with respect to the quasitriangular structure attached to the 2 × 2-matrix with 1 in the (1, 2)-entry and zero elsewhere.  相似文献

Basic Hopf algebras and quantum groups   总被引:10,自引:0,他引:10
This paper investigates the structure of basic finite dimensional Hopf algebras H over an algebraically closed field k. The algebra H is basic provided H modulo its Jacobson radical is a product of the field k. In this case H is isomorphic to a path algebra given by a finite quiver with relations. Necessary conditions on the quiver and on the coalgebra structure are found. In particular, it is shown that only the quivers given in terms of a finite group G and sequence of elements of G in the following way can occur. The quiver has vertices and arrows , where the set is closed under conjugation with elements in G and for each g in G, the sequences W and are the same up to a permutation. We show how is a kG-bimodule and study properties of the left and right actions of G on the path algebra. Furthermore, it is shown that the conditions we find can be used to give the path algebras themselves a Hopf algebra structure (for an arbitrary field k). The results are also translated into the language of coverings. Finally, a new class of finite dimensional basic Hopf algebras are constructed over a not necessarily algebraically closed field, most of which are quantum groups. The construction is not characteristic free. All the quivers , where the elements of W generates an abelian subgroup of G, are shown to occur for finite dimensional Hopf algebras. The existence of such algebras is shown by explicit construction. For closely related results of Cibils and Rosso see [Ci-R]. Received August 15, 1994; in final form May 16, 1997  相似文献

The structure of weak Hopf algebras corresponding to U q (sl 2) are classified by their algebra structure and coalgebra structure. The algebra structure of weak Hopf algebras corresponding to U q (sl 2) can be written as the direct sum of U q (sl 2) and an algebra of polynomials. The coalgebra structure of weak Hopf algebras corresponding to U q (sl 2) are classified by their Ext quiver. There are four types of such structures.  相似文献

Using equivalences of categories we provide general isomorphisms between the Brauer groups of different Hopf algebras. One of those is used to prove that the Brauer groups BC(k, H 4, rt ) for every dual quasitriangular structure rt on Sweedler's Hopf algebra H 4 are all isomorphic to the direct sum of (k, +) and the Brauer-Wall group of k.  相似文献

Let k be a field and E(n) be the 2 n+1-dimensional pointed Hopf algebra over k constructed by Beattie, Dăscălescu and Grünenfelder [J. Algebra, 2000, 225: 743–770]. E(n) is a triangular Hopf algebra with a family of triangular structures R M parameterized by symmetric matrices M in M n (k). In this paper, we study the Azumaya algebras in the braided monoidal category $ E_{(n)} \mathcal{M}^{R_M } $ E_{(n)} \mathcal{M}^{R_M } and obtain the structure theorems for Azumaya algebras in the category $ E_{(n)} \mathcal{M}^{R_M } $ E_{(n)} \mathcal{M}^{R_M } , where M is any symmetric n×n matrix over k.  相似文献

Let F be a finite extension of the 2-adic rational numbers. We compute the mod 2 homology of the general linear group GL(F) as a Hopf algebra over the Steenrod algebra. The answer is formulated in terms of the well-known homology algebras of the infinite unitary group U, its classifying space BU, and the classifying space BO of the infinite orthogonal group.  相似文献

The author and Nakano recently proved that multiplicities in a Specht filtration of a symmetric group module are well-defined precisely when the characteristic is at least five. This result suggested the possibility of a symmetric group theory analogous to that of good filtrations and tilting modules for GL n (k). This article is an initial attempt at such a theory. We obtain two sufficient conditions that ensure a module has a Specht filtration, and a formula for the filtration multiplicities. We then study the categories of modules that satisfy the conditions, in the process obtaining a new result on Specht module cohomology.

Next we consider symmetric group modules that have both Specht and dual Specht filtrations. Unlike tilting modules for GL n (k), these modules need not be self-dual, and there is no nice tensor product theorem. We prove a correspondence between indecomposable self-dual modules with Specht filtrations and a collection of GL n (k)-modules which behave like tilting modules under the tilting functor. We give some evidence that indecomposable self-dual symmetric group modules with Specht filtrations may be indecomposable self dual trivial source modules.  相似文献

We give a stratification of the GIT quotient of the Grassmannian G 2,n modulo the normaliser of a maximal torus of SL n (k) with respect to the ample generator of the Picard group of G 2,n . We also prove that the flag variety GL n (k)/B n can be obtained as a GIT quotient of GL n+1(k)/B n+1 modulo a maximal torus of SL n+1(k) for a suitable choice of an ample line bundle on GL n+1(k)/B n+1. We study Zariski-closed linear groupsG GL n (k) over fieldsk of characteristic 0 which act sharply transitively on the non-zero vectors ofk n . For square-freen, orn15, or ifk has cohomological dimension 1 we obtain a complete classification (i.e. a reduction to questions about associative division algebras). The main tools are representation theory of Lie algebras over algebraically closed and non-closed fields, and results about simple associative algebras in order to control the interplay between linear Lie algebras and the associative algebras generated by them. The relation to nearfields and left-symmetric division algebras is also discussed.  相似文献

This is a contribution to the classification of finite-dimensional pointed Hopf algebras. We are concerned with the case when the group of group-like elements is Abelian of exponent 2. We attach to such a pointed Hopf algebra a generalized simply-laced Cartan matrix; we conjecture that the Hopf algebra is finite-dimensional if and only if the Cartan matrix is of finite type. We prove the conjecture for the types An and An(1). We obtain the classification of all possible Hopf algebras with Cartan matrix An. We use the lifting method developed by Hans-Jürgen Schneider and the first-named author. Presented by S. Let n be an integer, n ≥ 2, and let a field P be a quadratic extension of an infinite field k. Regarding P as a k-vector space of dimension 2, we consider an n-dimensional P-vector space V as a 2n-dimensional k-vector space so the general linear group GL n (P) acting on V is embedded in the group GL 2n (k). Let a field K be an algebraic extension of k. In this article, we determine overgroups of the special linear group SL n (P) in the group GL 2n (K).  相似文献

The homology of GL n (R) and SL n (R) is studied, where R is a commutative ‘ring with many units’. Our main theorem states that the natural map H 4(GL3(R), k) → H 4(GL4(R), k) is injective, where k is a field with char(k) ≠ 2, 3. For an algebraically closed field F, we prove a better result, namely, is injective. We will prove a similar result replacing GL by SL. This is used to investigate the indecomposable part of the K-group K 4(R).  相似文献
