新兴产业中处于横向竞争地位的初创企业,会呈现渐变和突变两种不同的演化状态。不同状态下的横向竞争企业,价值变化都具有高度的不确定性。为了降低投资决策的不确定性风险,获取稳定的投资收益,对处于渐变和突变状态下的初创企业,首先运用期权组合的方法,进行第一阶段的变量预估决策;然后依据期权投资的收益情况,再运用线性规划技术进行第二阶段的补偿优化决策。论文通过阿里巴巴、京东、苹果和诺基亚四家样本公司的数据,检验了两阶段期权规划决策模型的实际效果,结论显示该方法能降低新兴产业投资中的不确定性干扰,在获取稳定收益的同时,使风险处于可控状态。  相似文献

实物期权的定价在风险投资决策过程中具有重要意义.传统的实物期权定价方法忽略标的资产价值和投资成本的模糊性,从而可能导致错误的投资决策.本文主要研究了具有模糊标的的资产价值和投资成本情形时的实物期权定价模型.文中将这些模糊因素分别视为模糊数和模糊变量,然后运用模糊集合论,结合B-S期权定价理论,对实物期权进行定价,得到了基于模糊集合论的实物期权定价模型.  相似文献

以传统CPPI投资策略的分析框架为基础,在风险资产为连续价格波动的条件下,构建离散投资决策时点的CPPI投资策略。引入模糊决策的分析方法度量投资决策者的心理预期,将传统CPPI投资策略中的投资乘数修正为随机模糊投资乘数,采用马尔科夫链蒙特卡洛模拟风险资产未来市场价格,利用模糊隶属函数描述投资决策者对未来市场运行状况预期的不确定性,保证即使投资决策者预期不精确的条件下,也能保证离散CPPI投资策略获得相对稳定的投资效果。利用中国证券市场上的真实数据进行实证检验,认为:随机模糊投资乘数最大限度地涵盖了投资决策者主观预测的不确定性;基于随机模糊投资乘数的离散CPPI投资策略在不同的市场运行状况中,较传统的CPPI投资策略更具投资的灵活性,可以在保证投资保险的前提下,追求较高的投资收益。  相似文献

Given a non-trivial market price of risk, we study the impact of state-dependent cashflow risk on the optimal investment policy and on the ensuing value of an unlevered firm that holds the option of scaling up cashflows from its assets in place upon incurring an irreversible cost. 本文针对企业投资决策者在新产品开发中的风险决策,基于贝叶斯决策理论及其相关研究建立了评估外部情报信息价值的数学模型,探讨投资决策者风险倾向、新产品开发风险投资未来市场需求以及情报费用对投资决策的影响机制,并用于评估新产品开发决策。研究结果有助于理解企业决策者进行新产品开发决策时应考虑的因素和情境,并能够辅助决策。最后,将这一数学模型应用到一家大型高科技企业的案例中。应用案例分析结果表明:本文的研究结论能够为企业开发新产品提供相关的决策依据。  相似文献

We consider the situation when a scarce renewable resource should be periodically distributed between different users by a Resource Management Authority (RMA). The replenishment of this resource as well as users demand is subject to considerable uncertainty. We develop cost optimization and risk management models that can assist the RMA in its decision about striking the balance between the level of target delivery to the users and the level of risk that this delivery will not be met. These models are based on utilization and further development of the general methodology of stochastic programming for scenario optimization, taking into account appropriate risk management approaches. By a scenario optimization model we obtain a target barycentric value with respect to selected decision variables. A successive reoptimization of deterministic model for the worst case scenarios allows the reduction of the risk of negative consequences derived from unmet resources demand. Our reference case study is the distribution of scarce water resources. We show results of some numerical experiments in real physical systems.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the optimal investment and consumption strategies for a retired individual who has the opportunity of choosing a discretionary stopping time to purchase an annuity. We assume that the individual receives a fixed annuity income and changes his/her preference after paying a fixed cost for annuitization. By using the martingale method and the variational inequality method, we tackle this problem and obtain the optimal strategies and the value function explicitly for the case of constant force of mortality and constant relative risk aversion (CRRA) utility function.  相似文献

In a research and development (R&D) investment, the cost and the project value of such an investment are usually uncertain, which thus increases its complexity. Correspondingly, the NPV (Net Present Value) rule fails to evaluate the value of this project exactly, because this method does not take into account the market uncertainty, irreversibility of investment and ability of delay entry. In this paper, we employ the real option theory to evaluate the project value of a R&D investment. Since the cost of a R&D investment is very high and the flow of the information is crowded, an investor cannot make an immediate decision every time. So, the proposed real option model is an exchange option. At the same time, combining the real option and the game theory, we can find the Nash equilibrium which is the optimal strategy. Moreover, we also study how the delayed time influences the price of the project investment and how the different delayed times effect the choice of the optimal strategies.  相似文献

This paper considers the robust equilibrium reinsurance and investment strategies for an ambiguity-averse insurer under a dynamic mean–variance criterion. The insurer is allowed to purchase excess-of-loss reinsurance and invest in a financial market consisting of a risk-free asset and a credit default swap (CDS). Following a game theoretic approach, robust equilibrium strategies and equilibrium value functions for the pre-default case and the post-default case are derived, respectively. For the ambiguity-averse insurer, in general the equilibrium strategies can be characterized by unique solutions to some algebraic equations. For the degenerate case with an ambiguity-neutral insurer, closed-form expressions of equilibrium strategies and equilibrium value functions are obtained. Numerical examples demonstrate that the consideration of model uncertainty and CDS investment improves the insurer’s utility. In this regard, our paper establishes theoretical and numerical support for the importance of ambiguity aversion, credit risk and their interplay in insurance business.  相似文献

Investments in cost reductions are critical for the long run success of companies that operate in dynamic and stochastic market environments. This paper studies optimal investment in cost reductions as a real option under the assumption that a single firm faces two different sources of risk, stochastic demand and input prices. We derive optimal investment strategies for a monopoly as well as a firm in a perfectly competitive market and show that in case of high marginal costs, cost reductions take place earlier in competitive than in monopoly markets. While the existence of an option to invest in cost reductions increases firm value it also increases a firm’s systematic risk. Risk can be smaller in a monopolistic than in a competitive industry.  相似文献

Traditional real options analysis addresses the problem of investment under uncertainty assuming a risk-neutral decision maker and complete markets. In reality, however, decision makers are often risk averse and markets are incomplete. We confirm that risk aversion lowers the probability of investment and demonstrate how this effect can be mitigated by incorporating operational flexibility in the form of embedded suspension and resumption options. Although such options facilitate investment, we find that the likelihood of investing is still lower compared to the risk-neutral case. Risk aversion also increases the likelihood that the project will be abandoned, although this effect is less pronounced. Finally, we illustrate the impact of risk aversion on the optimal suspension and resumption thresholds and the interaction among risk aversion, volatility, and optimal decision thresholds under complete operational flexibility.  相似文献

We study the classical real option problem in which an agent faces the decision if and when to invest optimally into a project. The investment is assumed to be irreversible. This problem has been studied by Myers and Majd (Adv Futures Options Res 4:1–21, 1990) for the case of a complete market, in which the risk can be perfectly hedged with an appropriate spanning asset, by McDonald and Siegel (Q J Econ, 101:707–727, 1986), who include the incomplete case but assume that the agent is risk neutral toward idiosyncratic risk, and later by Henderson (Valuing the option to invest in an incomplete market, , 2006) who studies the incomplete case with risk aversion toward idiosyncratic risk under the assumption that the project value follows a geometric Brownian motion. We take up Henderson’s utility based approach but assume as suggested by Dixit and Pindyck (Investment under uncertainty, Princeton University Press, Princeton, 1994) as well as others, that the project value follows a geometric mean reverting process. The mean reverting structure of the project value process makes our model richer and economically more meaningful. By using techniques from optimal control theory we derive analytic expressions for the value and the optimal exercise time of the option to invest.   相似文献

We identify and discuss issues of hidden over-conservatism in robust linear optimization, when the uncertainty set is polyhedral with a budget of uncertainty constraint. The decision-maker selects the budget of uncertainty to reflect his degree of risk aversion, i.e. the maximum number of uncertain parameters that can take their worst-case value. In the first setting, the cost coefficients of the linear programming problem are uncertain, as is the case in portfolio management with random stock returns. We provide an example where, for moderate values of the budget, the optimal solution becomes independent of the nominal values of the parameters, i.e. is completely disconnected from its nominal counterpart, and discuss why this happens. The second setting focusses on linear optimization with uncertain upper bounds on the decision variables, which has applications in revenue management with uncertain demand and can be rewritten as a piecewise linear problem with cost uncertainty. We show in an example that it is possible to have more demand parameters equal their worst-case value than what is allowed by the budget of uncertainty, although the robust formulation is correct. 以目标收益养老金计划(TBP)模型研究鲁棒最优投资问题, 其中养老金管理者对模型参数不确定带来的风险是模糊风险厌恶的. 养老金管理者为规避风险和增加收益将投资于无风险资产和风险资产. 考虑连续时间情形, 假设养老金计划参保人的缴费是确定的, 而参保人的收益给付是确定目标收益给付, 资金账户的收益风险由不同代际的参保人共同承担, 同时考虑随机工资及其与金融市场的相关性. 以参保人退休后养老金给付偏离目标的风险和代际之间风险分担的组合最小化为投资决策目标, 并采用指数函数的形式描述实际给付与目标给付的偏离, 利用随机最优控制方法, 建立相应的HJB方程并求解得到最优投资收益策略和最优给付策略的解析解. 通过数值示例分析了模型参数对最优投资和最优给付策略的影响.  相似文献

This study sets up a compound option approach for evaluating pharmaceutical R&D investment projects in the presence of technical and economic uncertainties. Technical uncertainty is modeled as a Poisson jump that allows for failure and thus abandonment of the drug development. Economic uncertainty is modeled as a standard diffusion process which incorporates both up-and downward shocks. Practical application of this method is emphasized through a case analysis. We show that both uncertainties have a positive impact on the R&D option value. Moreover, from the sensitivity analysis, we find that the sensitivity of the option with respect to economic uncertainty and market introduction cost decreases when technical uncertainty increases.  相似文献

站在保险公司管理者的角度, 考虑存在不动产项目投资机会时保险公司的再保险--投资策略问题. 假定保险公司可以投资于不动产项目、风险证券和无风险证券, 并通过比例再保险控制风险, 目标是最小化保险公司破产概率并求得相应最佳策略, 包括: 不动产项目投资时机、 再保险比例以及投资于风险证券的金额. 运用混合随机控制-最优停时方法, 得到最优值函数及最佳策略的显式解. 结果表明, 当且仅当其盈余资金多于某一水平(称为投资阈值)时保险公司投资于不动产项目. 进一步的数值算例分析表明: (a)~不动产项目投资的阈值主要受项目收益率影响而与投资金额无明显关系, 收益率越高则投资阈值越低; (b)~市场环境较好(牛市)时项目的投资阈值降低; 反之, 当市场环境较差(熊市)时投资阈值提高.  相似文献

This paper illustrates by three practical examples the use of forecasts and probabilities in making actual investment decisions. In each case the use of a simple forecast would lead to a wrong decision. The emphasis throughout is on the interaction between management and the operational research scientist. The three examples discussed in the paper are: (a) Study of future production capacity, where future demand is uncertain; (b) Study of storage facilities, where demand is variable and there is a risk of losing custom; (c) Study of future pipe-line capacity, where throughput is variable and there was uncertainty when to invest. The paper concludes with a discussion on the effects of variability, uncertainty and risk on the decision criterion, and on the decisions made.  相似文献

Public policy response to global climate change presents a classic problem of decision making under uncertainty. Theoretical work has shown that explicitly accounting for uncertainty and learning in climate change can have a large impact on optimal policy, especially technology policy. However, theory also shows that the specific impacts of uncertainty are ambiguous. In this paper, we provide a framework that combines economics and decision analysis to implement probabilistic data on energy technology research and development (R&D) policy in response to global climate change. We find that, given a budget constraint, the composition of the optimal R&D portfolio is highly diversified and robust to risk in climate damages. The overall optimal investment into technical change, however, does depend (in a non-monotonic way) on the risk in climate damages. Finally, we show that in order to properly value R&D, abatement must be included as a recourse decision.  相似文献
