On the theory of Banach space valued multifunctions. 2. Set valued martingales and set valued measures

This second part of the work on Banach space valued multifunctions begins with a detailed study of set valued martingales, which have their values in a Banach space. Several new convergence theorems are established for different modes of convergence. The profile of a multifunction in connection with set valued martingales is also studied. The notion of weak convergence of multifunctions is introduced and used to obtain additional convergence theorems for set valued martingales. In the last two sections of the paper set valued measures dealt with and an integral with respect to a set valued measure is introduced.     

Convergence theorems for adapted sequences of random sets

We consider random sets with values in a separable Banach space. We study set-valued amarts, L¹-amarts, uniform amarts and submartingales. For all these classes of random sets, we prove convergence theorems in all main modes of set convergence (weak, Wijsman, Mosco, and Hausdorff). We also prove new convergence theorems for vector-valued subpramarts and pramarts.

A convergence for vector valued functions

We give a definition of gamma-convergence (epi-convergence) for the case of vector valued sequences of functions and prove some related properties analogous to the scalar case. We obtain one of the main variational theorems about convergence of ?-minimizers. In the convex case, we consider also variable domains and obtain stability of efficient points and minimal values.

Weak and Strong Convergence of Solutions to Accretive Operator Inclusions and Applications

Our purpose in this paper is to approximate solutions of accretive operators in Banach spaces. Motivated by Halpern's iteration and Mann's iteration, we prove weak and strong convergence theorems for resolvents of accretive operators. Using these results, we consider the convex minimization problem of finding a minimizer of a proper lower semicontinuous convex function and the variational problem of finding a solution of a variational inequality.     

Integral representation of random set-valued measures

Abstract

We consider random set-valued measures with values in a separable Banach space. We prove two integral representation theorems using measurable multifunctions and set-valued integrals. The first theorem is valid for all separable Banach spaces, while the second holds for reflexive separable Banach spaces.     

On the dependence of the solutions and optimal solutions of control problems on the control constraint set

In this paper we examine the dependence of the solutions and optimal solutions of a class of linear, infinite dimensional control systems on the control constraint set. This is done using the weak and the Kuratowski-Mosco convergence of sets. First we establish some general facts about weakly convergent multifunctions. Then we prove some convergence theorems for the trajectories of certain control systems. We also derive a general relaxation theorem. Subsequently we pass to optimal control problems and prove various convergence results. We conclude with an example from parabolic control systems.Research supported by N. S. F. Two theorems on defect-freeness for cyclic extensions

The article contains the proofs of two theorems. Under quite special assumptions, we prove that the p-cyclic extensions of Henselian valued fields are defect-free. However, the well-known results by Epp and Kuhlmann are easy consequences of these theorems.
