In this paper, we introduce some techniques of Bakry–Emery curvature operator to Ricci flow and prove the evolution equation for the Bakry–Emery scalar curvature. As its application, we can easily derive the Perelman’s entropy functional monotonicity formula. We also discuss some gradient estimates of Ricci curvature and L 2– estimates of scalar curvature.Project partially supported by Yumiao Fund of Putian University.  相似文献

Assume (Mn,g) is a complete steady gradient Ricci soliton with positive Ricci curvature. If the scalar curvature approaches 0 towards infinity, we prove that , where O is the point where R obtains its maximum and γ(s) is a minimal normal geodesic emanating from O. Some other results on the Ricci curvature are also obtained.  相似文献

In this note, we obtain a sharp volume estimate for complete gradient Ricci solitons with scalar curvature bounded below by a positive constant. Using Chen-Yokota’s argument we obtain a local lower bound estimate of the scalar curvature for the Ricci flow on complete manifolds. Consequently, one has a sharp estimate of the scalar curvature for expanding Ricci solitons; we also provide a direct (elliptic) proof of this sharp estimate. Moreover, if the scalar curvature attains its minimum value at some point, then the manifold is Einstein.  相似文献

We obtain a local smoothing result for Riemannian manifolds with bounded Ricci curvatures in dimension four. More precisely, given a Riemannian metric with bounded Ricci curvature and small L2-norm of curvature on a metric ball, we can find a smooth metric with bounded curvature which is C1,α-close to the original metric on a smaller ball but still of definite size.  相似文献

New lower bounds of the first nonzero eigenvalue of the weighted p-Laplacian are established on compact smooth metric measure spaces with or without boundaries. Under the assumption of positive lower bound for the m-Bakry–Émery Ricci curvature, the Escobar–Lichnerowicz–Reilly type estimates are proved; under the assumption of nonnegative ∞-Bakry–Émery Ricci curvature and the m-Bakry–Émery Ricci curvature bounded from below by a non-positive constant, the Li–Yau type lower bound estimates are given. The weighted p-Bochner formula and the weighted p-Reilly formula are derived as the key tools for the establishment of the above results.  相似文献

In this Note, we announce the result that if M is a Kähler–Einstein manifold with positive scalar curvature, if the initial metric has nonnegative bisectional curvature, and the curvature is positive somewhere, then the Kähler–Ricci flow converges to a Kähler–Einstein metric with constant bisectional curvature.  相似文献

Let (M, g) be a compact Kähler manifold and (E, F) be a holomorphic Finsler vector bundle of rank r ≥ 2 over M. In this paper, we prove that there exists a Kähler metric φ defined on the projective bundle P (E) of E, which comes naturally from g and F. Moreover, a necessary and sufficient condition for φ having positive scalar curvature is obtained, and a sufficient condition for φ having positive Ricci curvature is established.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the flag curvature of a special class of Finsler metrics called general spherically symmetric Finsler metrics, which are defined by a Euclidean metric and two related 1-forms. We find equations to characterize the class of metrics with constant Ricci curvature (tensor) and constant flag curvature. Moreover, we study general spherically symmetric Finsler metrics with the vanishing non-Riemannian quantity χ-curvature. In particular, we construct some new projectively flat Finsler metrics of constant flag curvature.  相似文献

In this paper we prove that, under an explicit integral pinching assumption between the L2-norm of the Ricci curvature and the L2-norm of the scalar curvature, a closed 3-manifold with positive scalar curvature admits a conformal metric of positive Ricci curvature. In particular, using a result of Hamilton, this implies that the manifold is diffeomorphic to a quotient of S3. The proof of the main result of the paper is based on ideas developed in an article by M. Gursky and J. Viaclovsky.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that if M is a K?hler-Einstein surface with positive scalar curvature, if the initial metric has nonnegative sectional curvature, and the curvature is positive somewhere, then the K?hler-Ricci flow converges to a K?hler-Einstein metric with constant bisectional curvature. In a subsequent paper [7], we prove the same result for general K?hler-Einstein manifolds in all dimension. This gives an affirmative answer to a long standing problem in K?hler Ricci flow: On a compact K?hler-Einstein manifold, does the K?hler-Ricci flow converge to a K?hler-Einstein metric if the initial metric has a positive bisectional curvature? Our main method is to find a set of new functionals which are essentially decreasing under the K?hler Ricci flow while they have uniform lower bounds. This property gives the crucial estimate we need to tackle this problem. Oblatum 8-IX-2000 & 30-VII-2001?Published online: 19 November 2001  相似文献

A Sasakian structure =(\xi,\eta,\Phi,g) on a manifold Mis called positiveif its basic first Chern class c1( ) can be represented by a positive (1,1)-form with respect to its transverse holomorphic CR-structure. We prove a theorem that says that every positive Sasakian structure can be deformed to a Sasakian structure whose metric has positive Ricci curvature. This provides us with a new technique for proving the existence of positive Ricci curvature metrics on certain odd dimensional manifolds. As an example we give a completely independent proof of a result of Sha and Yang that for every nonnegative integer kthe 5-manifolds k#(S 2×S 3) admits metrics of positive Ricci curvature.  相似文献

We introduce and study rough (approximate) lower curvature bounds for discrete spaces and for graphs. This notion agrees with the one introduced in [J. Lott, C. Villani, Ricci curvature for metric-measure spaces via optimal transport, Ann. of Math. 169 (2009), in press] and [K.T. Sturm, On the geometry of metric measure spaces. I, Acta Math. 196 (2006) 65-131], in the sense that the metric measure space which is approximated by a sequence of discrete spaces with rough curvature ?K will have curvature ?K in the sense of [J. Lott, C. Villani, Ricci curvature for metric-measure spaces via optimal transport, Ann. of Math. 169 (2009), in press; K.T. Sturm, On the geometry of metric measure spaces. I, Acta Math. 196 (2006) 65-131]. Moreover, in the converse direction, discretizations of metric measure spaces with curvature ?K will have rough curvature ?K. We apply our results to concrete examples of homogeneous planar graphs.  相似文献

The hyperbolic geometric flow equations is introduced recently by Kong and Liu motivated by Einstein equation and Hamilton Ricci flow. In this paper, we consider the mixed initial boundary value problem for hyperbolic geometric flow, and prove the global existence of classical solutions. The results show that, for any given initial metric on R2 in certain class of metric, one can always choose suitable initial velocity symmetric tensor such that the solutions exist, and the scalar curvature corresponding to the solution metric gij keeps bounded. If the initial velocity tensor does not satisfy the certain conditions, the solutions will blow up at a finite time. Some special explicit solutions to the reduced equation are given.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the behavior of the total absolute and the total curvature under the Ricci flow on complete surfaces with bounded curvature. It is shown that they are monotone non-increasing and constant in time, respectively, if they exist and are finite at the initial time. As a related result, we prove that the asymptotic volume ratio is constant under the Ricci flow with non-negative Ricci curvature, at the end of the paper.   相似文献

We derive the integral inequality of a Randers metric with isotropic S-curvature in terms of its navigation representation. Using the obtained inequality we give some rigidity results under the condition of Ricci curvature. In particular, we show the following result: Assume that an n-dimensional compact Randers manifold (M, F) has constant S-curvature c. Then (M, F) must be Riemannian if its Ricci curvature satisfies that Ric 〈 -(n - 1)c^2.  相似文献

In this note we generalize the Huisken’s (J Diff Geom 21:47–62, 1985) result to Riemannian orbifolds. We show that on any n-dimensional (n ≥ 4) orbifold of positive scalar curvature the metric can be deformed into a metric of constant positive curvature, provided the norm of the Weyl conformal curvature tensor and the norm of the traceless Ricci tensor are not large compared to the scalar curvature at each point, and therefore generalize 3-orbifolds result proved by Hamilton [Three- orbifolds with positive Ricci curvature. In: Cao HD, Chow B, Chu SC, Yau ST (eds) Collected Papers on Ricci Flow, Internat. Press, Somerville, 2003] to n-orbifolds (n ≥ 4).  相似文献
