Multiresolution analysis of tempered distributions is studied through multiresolution analysis on the corresponding test function spaces Sr(R), rN0. For a function h, which is smooth enough and of appropriate decay, it is shown that the derivatives of its projections to the corresponding spaces Vj, jZ, in a regular multiresolution analysis of L2(R), denoted by hj, multiplied by a polynomial weight converge in sup norm, i.e., hjh in Sr(R) as j→∞. Analogous result for tempered distributions is obtained by duality arguments. The analysis of the approximation order of the projection operator within the framework of the theory of shift-invariant spaces gives a further refinement of the results. The order of approximation is measured with respect to the corresponding space of test functions. As an application, we give Abelian and Tauberian type theorems concerning the quasiasymptotic behavior of a tempered distribution at infinity.  相似文献

In this paper a new class of higher order (F,ρ,σ)-type I functions for a multiobjective programming problem is introduced, which subsumes several known studied classes. Higher order Mond-Weir and Schaible type dual programs are formulated for a nondifferentiable multiobjective fractional programming problem where the objective functions and the constraints contain support functions of compact convex sets in Rn. Weak and strong duality results are studied in both the cases assuming the involved functions to be higher order (F,ρ,σ)-type I. A number of previously studied problems appear as special cases.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove existence results for a nonlocal boundary value problem concerning a higher order differential equation. Our method is based upon the coincidence degree theory of Mawhin. The interesting point is that the degree of some variables among x0,x1,…,xn−1 in the function f(t,x0,x1,…,xn−1) are allowable to be greater than 1. The analysis of optimal inventory replenishment policies for items having lumpy demand patterns is difficult, and has not been studied extensively although these items constitute an appreciable portion of inventory populations in parts and supplies types of stockholdings. This paper studies the control of an inventory item when the demand is lumpy. A continuous review (s,S) policy with a maximum issue quantity restriction and with the possibility of opportunistic replenishment is proposed to avoid the stock of these items being depleted unduly when all the customer orders are satisfied from the available inventory and to reduce ordering cost by coordinating inventory replenishments. The nature of the customer demands is approximated by a compound Poisson distribution. When a customer order arrives, if the order size is greater than the maximum issue quantity w, the order is satisfied by placing a special replenishment order rather than from the available stock directly. In addition, if the current inventory position is equal to or below a critical level A when such an order arrives, an opportunistic replenishment order which combines the special replenishment order and the regular replenishment order will be placed, in order to satisfy the customer's demand and to bring the inventory position to S. In this paper, the properties of the cost function of such an inventory system with respect to the control parameters s, S and A are analysed in detail. An algorithm is developed to determine the global optimal values of the control parameters. Indeed, the incorporation of the maximum issue quantity and opportunistic replenishment into the (s,S) policy reduces the total operating cost of the inventory system.  相似文献

The induced path transit function J(u,v) in a graph consists of the set of all vertices lying on any induced path between the vertices u and v. A transit function J satisfies monotone axiom if x,yJ(u,v) implies J(x,y)⊆J(u,v). A transit function J is said to satisfy the Peano axiom if, for any u,v,w∈V,x∈J(v,w), yJ(u,x), there is a zJ(u,v) such that yJ(w,z). These two axioms are equivalent for the induced path transit function of a graph. Planar graphs for which the induced path transit function satisfies the monotone axiom are characterized by forbidden induced subgraphs.  相似文献

This paper contains three main results: the first one is to derive two “period relations” and the second one is a complete characterization of period functions of Jacobi forms in terms of period relations. These are done by introducing a concept of “Jacobi integrals” on the full Jacobi group. The last one is to show, for the given holomorphic function P(τ, z) having two period relations, there exists a unique Jacobi integral, up to Jacobi forms, with a given function P(τ, z) as its period function. This is done by constructing a generalized Jacobi Poincaré series explicitly. This is to say that every holomorphic function with “period relations” is coming from a Jacobi integral. It is an analogy of Eichler cohomology theory studied in Knopp (Bull Am Math Soc 80:607–632, 1974) for the functions with elliptic and modular variables. It explains the functional equations satisfied by the “Mordell integrals” associated with the Lerch sums (Zwegers in Mock theta functions, PhD thesis, Universiteit Utrecht, 2002) or, more generally, with the higher Appell functions (Semikhatov et?al. in Commun Math Phys 255(2):469–512, 2005). Developing theories of Jacobi integrals with elliptic and modular variables in this paper is a natural extension of the Eichler integral with modular variable. Period functions can be explained in terms of the parabolic cohomology group as well.  相似文献

This research is a continuation of a recent paper due to the first four authors. Shared value problems related to a meromorphic function f(z) and its shift f(z+c), where cC, are studied. It is shown, for instance, that if f(z) is of finite order and shares two values CM and one value IM with its shift f(z+c), then f is a periodic function with period c. The assumption on the order of f can be dropped if f shares two shifts in different directions, leading to a new way of characterizing elliptic functions. The research findings also include an analogue for shifts of a well-known conjecture by Brück concerning the value sharing of an entire function f with its derivative f.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the rank generating function of a separable permutation π in the weak Bruhat order on the two intervals [id,π] and [π,w0], where w0=n,n−1,…,1. We show a surprising result that the product of these two generating functions is the generating function for the symmetric group with the weak order. We then obtain explicit formulas for the rank generating functions on [id,π] and [π,w0], leading to the rank-symmetry and unimodality of the two graded posets.  相似文献

The geodesic interval function I of a connected graph allows an axiomatic characterization involving axioms on the function only, without any reference to distance, as was shown by Nebeský [20]. Surprisingly, Nebeský [23] showed that, if no further restrictions are imposed, the induced path function J of a connected graph G does not allow such an axiomatic characterization. Here J(u,v) consists of the set of vertices lying on the induced paths between u and v. This function is a special instance of a transit function. In this paper we address the question what kind of restrictions could be imposed to obtain axiomatic characterizations of J. The function J satisfies betweenness if wJ(u,v), with wu, implies uJ(w,v) and xJ(u,v) implies J(u,x)⊆J(u,v). It is monotone if x,yJ(u,v) implies J(x,y)⊆J(u,v). In the case where we restrict ourselves to functions J that satisfy betweenness, or monotonicity, we are able to provide such axiomatic characterizations of J by transit axioms only. The graphs involved can all be characterized by forbidden subgraphs.  相似文献

We establish optimal gradient estimates in Orlicz space for a nonhomogeneous elliptic equation of higher order with discontinuous coefficients on a nonsmooth domain. Our assumption is that for each point and for each sufficiently small scale the coefficients have small mean oscillation and the boundary of the domain is sufficiently close to a hyperplane. As a consequence we prove the classical Wm,p, m=1,2,…, 1<p<∞, estimates for such a higher order equation. Our results easily extend to higher order elliptic and parabolic systems.  相似文献
