R is any ring with identity. Let Spec r (R) (resp. Max r (R), Prim r (R)) denote the set of all right prime ideals (resp. all maximal right ideals, all right primitive ideals) of R and let U r (eR) = {P ? Spec r (R)| e ? P}. Let  = ∪P?Prim r (R) Spec r P (R), where Spec r P (R) = {Q ?Spec r P (R)|P is the largest ideal contained in Q}. A ring is called right quasi-duo if every maximal right ideal is 2-sided. In this article, we study the properties of the weak Zariski topology on and the relationships among various ring-theoretic properties and topological conditions on it. Then the following results are obtained for any ring R: (1) R is right quasi-duo ring if and only if is a space with Zariski topology if and only if, for any Q ? , Q is irreducible as a right ideal in R. (2) For any clopen (i.e., closed and open) set U in ? = Max r (R) ∪  Prim r (R) (resp.  = Prim r (R)) there is an element e in R with e 2 ? e ? J(R) such that U = U r (eR) ∩  ? (resp. U = U r (eR) ∩  ), where J(R) is the Jacobson of R. (3) Max r (R) ∪  Prim r (R) is connected if and only if Max l (R) ∪  Prim l (R) is connected if and only if Prim r (R) is connected.  相似文献

AA-Rings

Abstract

Let R be a ring with identity such that R +, the additive group of R, is torsion-free of finite rank (tffr). The ring R is called an E-ring if End(R +) = {x ? ax : a ∈ R} and is called an A-ring if Aut(R +) = {x ? ux : u ∈ U(R)}, where U(R) is the group of units of R. While E-rings have been studied for decades, the notion of A-rings was introduced only recently. We now introduce a weaker notion. The ring R, 1 ∈ R, is called an AA-ring if for each α ∈ Aut(R +) there is some natural number n such that α n  ∈ {x ? ux : u ∈ U(R)}. We will find all tffr AA-rings with nilradical N(R) ≠ {0} and show that all tffr AA-rings with N(R) = {0} are actually E-rings. As a consequence of our results on AA-rings, we are able to prove that all tffr A-rings are indeed E-rings.  相似文献

Let R be a non-commutative prime ring of characteristic different from 2, U its right Utumi quotient ring, C its extended centroid, F a generalized derivation on R, and f(x 1,…, x n ) a noncentral multilinear polynomial over C. If there exists a ∈ R such that, for all r 1,…, r n  ∈ R, a[F 2(f(r 1,…, r n )), f(r 1,…, r n )] = 0, then one of the following statements hold: 1. a = 0;

2. There exists λ ∈C such that F(x) = λx, for all x ∈ R;

3. There exists c ∈ U such that F(x) = cx, for all x ∈ R, with c 2 ∈ C;

4. There exists c ∈ U such that F(x) = xc, for all x ∈ R, with c 2 ∈ C.

Abstract

Let 𝒪 be a discrete valuation ring whose residue field 𝒪/𝔭 is finite and has odd characteristic. Let l be a positive integer. Set R = 𝒪/𝔭 l and let R = R[θ] be the ring obtained by adjoining to R a square root of a non-square unit. Consider the involution σ of R that fixes R elementwise and sends θ to ? θ. Let V be a free R-module of rank n > 0 endowed with a non-degenerate hermitian form ( , ) relative to σ. Let U n (R) be the subgroup of GL(V) that preserves ( , ). Let SU n (R) be the subgroup of all g ∈ U n (R) whose determinant is equal to one. Let Ψ be the Weil character of U n (R).

All irreducible constituents of Ψ are determined. An explicit character formula is given for each of them. In particular, all character degrees are computed. For n > 2 the corresponding results are also obtained for the restriction of Ψ to SU n (R).  相似文献

Let S be a subring of the ring R. We investigate the question of whether SU(R)=U(S) holds for the units. In many situations our answer is positive. There is a special emphasis on the case when R is a full matrix ring and S is a structural subring of R defined by a reflexive and transitive relation.  相似文献

Let I be a split radical ideal of a ring R. In this article, the exact sequence 1 → K 2(R, I) → U R (I) → V(R, I) → 1 is given by using the method of extension of groups, where U R (I) is determined by generators and relations. The results of Maazen and Stienstra on the presentation for relative K 2 group of split radical pairs are extended and amplified.  相似文献

In this paper, we determine the X-inner automorphisms of the smash product R # U(L) of a prime ring R by the universal enveloping algebra U(L) of a characteristic 0 Lie algebra L. Specifically, we show that any such automorphism σ stabilizing R can be written as a product σ = σ1σ2, where σ1 is induced by conjugation by a unit of Q3(R), the symmetric Martindale ring of quotients of R, and σ2 is induced by conjugation by a unit of Q3(T). Here S = Ql(R) is the left Martindale ring of quotients of R and T is the centralizer of S in S # U(L) - R # U(L). One of the subtleties of the proof is that we must work in several unrelated overrings of R # U(L).  相似文献

Abstract

In this paper we show that a regular ring R is a generalized stable ring if and only if for every x ∈ R, there exist a w ∈ K(R) and a group G in R such that wx ∈ G. Also we show that if R is a generalized stable regular ring, then for any A ∈ M n (R), there exist right invertible matrices U 1, U 2 ∈ M n (R) and left invertible matrices V 1, V 2 ∈ M n (R) such that U 1 V 1 AU 2 V 2 = diag(e 1,…, e n ) for some idempotents e 1,…, e n  ∈ R.  相似文献

Let R be a domain and R[X; D] the Ore extension of R by a sequence D of derivations of R. If D has length ≥ 2, we show that the symmetric Utumi quotient ring of R[X; D] is U s (R)[X; D], where U s (R) is the symmetric Utumi quotient ring of R. Consequently, X-inner automorphisms of R[X; D] are induced by units of U s (R) and the extended centroid of R[X; D] consists of those elements α in the center of U s (R) such that δ(α) = 0 for all δ ? D. These extend the known results for free algebras.  相似文献

Let R be an exchange ring with primitive factors artinian. We prove that there exists a u∈U(R) such that 1R ± u ∈ U(R), if and only if for any a ∈ R, there exists a u ∈ U(R) such that a ± u∈ U(R). Phrthermore, we prove that, for any A ∈ Mn(R)(n ≥ 2), there exists a U ∈ GLn(R) such that A ± U ∈ GLn(R).  相似文献

Let R be a prime algebra over an infinite field and suppose that R is generated by its group of units U(R). We prove that if U(R) satisfies a group identity then R must be an integral domain.  相似文献

We focus our attention to the set Gr(■) of grouplike elements of a coring ■ over a ring A.We do some observations on the actions of the groups U(A) and Aut(■) of units of A and of automorphisms of corings of ■,respectively,on Gr(■),and on the subset Gal(■) of all Galois grouplike elements.Among them,we give conditions on ■ under which Gal(■) is a group,in such a way that there is an exact sequence of groups {1} → U(Ag) → U(A) → Gal(■) → {1},where Ag is the subalgebra of coinvariants for some g ∈ Gal(■).  相似文献

Let R be a semiprime ring with center Z(R), extended centroid C, U the maximal right ring of quotients of R, and m a positive integer. Let f: R → U be an additive m-power commuting map. Suppose that f is Z(R)-linear. It is proved that there exists an idempotent e ∈ C such that ef(x) = λx + μ(x) for all x ∈ R, where λ ∈C and μ: R → C. Moreover, (1 ? e)U ? M2(E), where E is a complete Boolean ring. As consequences of the theorem, it is proved that every additive, 2-power commuting map or centralizing map from R to U is commuting.  相似文献

We construct the nonstandard hull of a not necessarily bounded strongly continuous representationU of the locally compact semigroupS on a Banach spaceE. Then we apply our results to the theory of the spectrum σ (U) ofU, mainly in cases whereS is an abelian group, e.g.S=R. First of all we obtain generalizations to the unbounded case of results known for the bounded one. Secondly we introduce the notion of the Riesz part R σ(U) of σ(U) and characterize those representations satisfying σ(U)=R σ(U). We illustrate the theory developed so far by applications to representations on Banach lattices. Dedicated to Prof. Dr. H. H. Schaefer on the occasion of his 60th birthday  相似文献

For any right essential overring T of a right FI-extending ring R, it is shown that 𝒯 dim(T) ≤ 𝒯dim(R), where 𝒯dim(?) is triangulating dimension of a ring. As a consequence, we show that for a ring R the maximal right ring of quotients, Q(R), is a direct product of finitely many prime rings if and only if Q(R) is semiprime and 𝒯dim(Q(R)) is finite. Some examples which illustrate and delimit the result are provided.  相似文献

Abstract

A ring R is called strongly stable if whenever aR + bR = R, there exists a w ∈ Q(R) such that a + bw ∈ U(R), where Q(R) = {x ∈ R ∣ ? e ? e 2 ∈ J(R), u ∈ U(R) such that x = eu}. These rings are shown to be a natural generalization of semilocal rings and unit regular rings. We investigate the extensions of strongly stable rings. K 1-groups of such rings are also studied. In this way we recover and extend some results of Menal and Moncasi.  相似文献

It is known that if R is a ring with identity, and S and A op are the functor rings associated to the categories Mod(R) and Mod(R op ), respectively, then there is a duality between the categories of finitely presented objects of Mod(S op ) and Mod(A). We prove here this result in a more general case, namely when R is an idempotent ring, not necessarily having an identity, and when the categories Mod(R) of torsionfree and unitary right R-modules and Mod(R op ) of torsionfree and unitary left R-modules are locally finitely presented.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with unity and R +, U(R), and Z*(R) be the additive group, the set of unit elements, and the set of all nonzero zero-divisors of R, respectively. We denote by ?𝔸𝕐(R) and G R , the Cayley graph Cay(R +, Z*(R)) and the unitary Cayley graph Cay(R +, U(R)), respectively. For an Artinian ring R, Akhtar et al. (2009) studied G R . In this article, we study ?𝔸𝕐(R) and determine the clique number, chromatic number, edge chromatic number, domination number, and the girth of ?𝔸𝕐(R). We also characterize all rings R whose ?𝔸𝕐(R) is planar. Moreover, we determine all finite rings R whose ?𝔸𝕐(R) is strongly regular. We prove that ?𝔸𝕐(R) is strongly regular if and only if it is edge transitive. As a consequence, we characterize all finite rings R for which G R is a strongly regular graph.  相似文献

Let (R, m) be a Noetherian, one-dimensional, local ring, with |R/m|=∞. We study when its associated graded ring G(m) is Buchsbaum; in particular, we give a theoretical characterization for G(m) to be Buchsbaum not Cohen–Macaulay. Finally, we consider the particular case of R being the semigroup ring associated to a numerical semigroup S: we introduce some invariants of S, and we use them in order to give a necessary and a sufficient condition for G(m) to be Buchsbaum.  相似文献
