Let G be a locally compact group, ω be a weight function on G and 1 < p < ∞. Here, we give a sufficient condition for that the weighted L p -space L p (G, ω) is a Banach algebra. Also, we get some necessary conditions on G and the weight function ω for L p (G, ω) to be a Banach algebra. As a consequence, we show that if G is abelian and L p (G, ω) is a Banach algebra, then G is σ-compact.  相似文献

Abstract

Let G and A be finite groups such that (|G|, |A|) = 1. Let K be an algebraically closed field with Char K = 0. Denote by K α G the twisted group algebra of G over K with factor set α. In this paper we prove that if A acts homogeneously on K α G, then there exists an action of A on G, and there is a one-to-one correspondence between the set of A-invariant irreducible K α G-modules and the set of irreducible K α C G (A)-modules.  相似文献

Let G = SL(2,pn ) with p odd. Let KG be the group algebra of G over an algebraically closed field K of characteristic p. In general, a finite dimensional basic algebra can be described by a quiver with relations. For KG, the quiver has been known. Namely the simple KG modules and their extensions determine it. The aim of this paper is to get the relations and describe the basic algebra of KG by the quiver with them.  相似文献

Let G be a compact group whose local weight b(G) has uncountable cofinality. Let H be an amenable locally compact group and A(G × H) be the Fourier algebra of G × H. We prove that the group von Neumann algebra VN(G × H) = A(G × H)* has the weak uniform A(G × H)** factorization property of level b(G). As a corollary we show that A(G × H) is strongly Arens irregular, and the topological centre of UC 2(G × H)* is equal to the Fourier–Stieltjes algebra B(G × H).  相似文献

Let G be a reductive complex algebraic group and V a finite-dimensional G-module. From elements of the invariant algebra C[V]G we obtain, by polarization, elements of C[kV]G, where k ≥ 1 and kV denotes the direct sum of k copies of V. For G simple, our main result is the classification of the G-modules V and integers k ≥ 2 such that polarizations generate C[kV]G.  相似文献

Let M : = Γ\G/K be the quotient of an irreducible Hermitian symmetric space G/K by a torsionfree cocompact lattice G ì G{\Gamma \subset G}. Let V be a complex irreducible representation of G. We give a Hodge decomposition of the cohomology of the Γ-module V in terms of the cohomologies of automorphic vector bundles on M associated to the Lie algebra cohomologies H*(\mathfrak p+ ,V){H*({\mathfrak p}^{+} ,V)}.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group acting linearly on a finite dimensional vector space V defined over a field k of characteristic p, where p is assumed to divide the group order. Let R := S(V *) be the symmetric algebra of the dual on which G acts naturally by algebra automorphisms. We study the RG-modules Hi(G, R) for i > 0. In particular we give a formula which describes the annihilator of a general element of Hi(G, R) in terms of the relative transfer ideals of RG, and consequently prove that the associated primes of these cohomology modules are equal to the radicals of certain relative transfer ideals. Let k be a field of characteristic P >0 and let G be a finite abelian group. We determine the structure of the Hochschild cohomology ring of the group algebra k G. Moreover, we prove that for any finite group G the Krull dimension of H H *(k G) equals the p-rank of G.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group and let k be a field. We say that G is a projective basis of a k-algebra A if it is isomorphic to a twisted group algebra k α G for some αH 2(G, k ×), where the action of G on k × is trivial. In a preceding paper by Aljadeff, Haile and the author it was shown that if a group G is a projective basis of a k-central division algebra, then G is nilpotent and every Sylow p-subgroup of G is on the short list of p-groups, denoted by Λ. In this paper we complete the classification of projective bases of division algebras by showing that every group on that list is a projective basis for a suitable division algebra. We also consider the question of uniqueness of a projective basis of a k-central division algebra. We show that basically all groups on the list Λ but one satisfy certain rigidity property. Let G be a non-compact connected semisimple Lie group with finite center and let GK denote the centralizer of a maximal compact subgroup K of G inG, the universal enveloping algebra over of the Lie algebra of G. In [4] Lepowsky defines an injective anti-homo morphism P:G KK MA, where M is the centralizer in K of a Cartan subalgebraa of the symmetric pair (G,K),K andA are the universal enveloping algebras over corresponding to K anda, respectively, andK M is the centralizer of M inK. The subalgebra P(G K) ofK MA has considerable significance in the infinite dimensional representation theory of G. In this paper we explicitly compute P(G K) when G=S0o(4,1), and show how this result leads to the determination of all irreducible representations of G and its universal covering group Spin(4,1).Partially supported by CONICET (Argentina) grants.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group acting by automorphism on a lattice A, and hence on the group algebra S=k[A]. The algebra of G-invariants in S is called an algebra of multiplicative invariants. We present an explicit version of a result of Farkas stating that multiplicative invariants of finite reflection groups are semigroup algebras.  相似文献

Let G be a locally compact group and LUC(G) the C*-algebra of the bounded left uniformly continuous functions on G. The spectrum G LUC of LUC(G) is the universal semigroup compactification of G with respect to the joint continuity property: the multiplication on G×G LUC is jointly continuous. The paper studies the joint weak* continuity of multiplication on LUC(G)* and, in particular, the question how the joint continuity property of G LUC can be related to a property concerning the whole algebra LUC(G)*. The group G is naturally replaced by the measure algebra M(G), and LUC(G)* can be identified with M(G LUC), the space of regular Borel measures on G LUC. It is shown that the joint weak* continuity can fail even on bounded sets of M(G)×M(G LUC), but, on the other hand, the multiplication on M(G)×M(G LUC) is positive continuous in the sense of Jewett.  相似文献

Let F be a field and A a Frobenius algebra over F. The Jacobson radical of A is denoted by J = J(A) and the kth socle of A by S k (A). Let [Abar]=A/J k or A/S k (A). This article gives new interesting relations between the Cartan matrix of A and that of [Abar]. From these results we prove that the Cartan matrix of A is diagonal if A/Soc(A) is a symmetric algebra. Let G be a finite group. If A is a block of F|G] with the above condition, then the Cartan matrix of A is (n), where n is the order of the defect group of A and the least integer such that Jn (A)=0.  相似文献

Let G be an abelian group, B the G-graded λ-Hopf algebra with A being a bicharacter on G. By introducing some new twisted algebras (coalgebras), we investigate the basic properties of the graded antipode and the structure for B. We also prove that a G-graded λ-Hopf algebra can be embedded in a usual Hopf algebra. As an application, it is given that if G is a finite abelian group then the graded antipode of a finite dimensional G-graded A-Hopf algebra is invertible.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group. Denote by Irr(G) the set of all irreducible complex characters of G. Let cd(G) be the set of all irreducible complex character degrees of G forgetting multiplicities, that is, cd(G) = {χ(1) : χ ∈ Irr(G)} and let cd *(G) be the set of all irreducible complex character degrees of G counting multiplicities. Let H be an alternating group of degree at least 5, a sporadic simple group or the Tits group. In this paper, we will show that if G is a non-abelian simple group and cd(G) í cd(H)cd(G)\subseteq cd(H) then G must be isomorphic to H. As a consequence, we show that if G is a finite group with cd*(G) í cd*(H)cd^*(G)\subseteq cd^*(H) then G is isomorphic to H. This gives a positive answer to Question 11.8 (a) in (Unsolved problems in group theory: the Kourovka notebook, 16th edn) for alternating groups, sporadic simple groups or the Tits group.  相似文献

Abstract

Let k be a field with char k = p > 0 and G an abelian group with a bicharacter λ on G. For each p-(G,λ)-Lie color algebra L over k the p-universal enveloping algebra u(L) is a G-graded Hopf algebra,i.e.,a Hopf algebra in the category kG ? of kG-comodules. In this paper we describe a subcategory of kG ? which is equivalent to the category of the finite dimensional p-(G,λ)-Lie color algebras over k.  相似文献

Let G be a finite p-group with subgroup H and k a field of characteristic p. We study the endomorphism algebra E = EndkG(kHG), showing that it is a split extension of a nilpotent ideal by the group algebra kNG(H)/H. We identify the space of endomorphisms that factor through a projective kG-module and hence the endomorphism ring of kHG in the stable module category, and determine the Loewy structure of E when G has nilpotency class 2 and [G, H] is cyclic.
