Some characterizations of I‐convexity and Q‐convexity of Banach space are obtained. Moreover, the criteria is shown for Orlicz–Bochner function spaces L M ( μ , X ) endowed with the Orlicz norm being I‐convex as well as being Q‐convex.  相似文献

We consider the following binary law * on ·E:(, ) * (, ) = (, k + ) for(, ), (, ) × E where is a nonnegative real number,k andl are integers.In order to find all subgroupoids of ( ·E, *) which depend faithfully on a set of parameters, we have to solve the following functional equation:f(f(y) k x +f(x) l y) =f(x)f(y) (x, y E). (1)In this paper, all solutionsf: of (1) which are in the Baire class I and have the Darboux property are obtained. We obtain also all continuous solutionsf: E of (1). The subgroupoids of (* ·E, *) which dapend faithfully and continuously on a set of parameters are then determined in different cases. We also deduce from this that the only subsemigroup ofL n 1 of the form {(F(x 2,x 3, ,x n ),x 2,x 3, ,x n ); (x 2, ,x n ) n – 1 }, where the mappingF: n – 1 * has some regularity property, is {1} × n – 1 .We may noitice that the Gob-Schinzel functional equation is a particular case of equation (1)(k = 0, l = 1, = 1). So we can say that (1) is of Gob—Schinzel type. More generally, whenE is a real algebra, we shall say that a functional equation is of Gob—Schinzel type if it is of the form:f(f(y) k x +f(x) l y) =F(x,y,f(x),f(y),f(xy)) wherek andl are integers andF is a given function in five variables. Necessary and sufficient conditions for uniform rotundity of Orlicz function spaces equipped with the p‐Amemiya norm are presented. The obtained results unify, complete and widen the characterization of uniform rotundity of Orlicz spaces. In the case of the ∞‐Amemiya (i.e. the Luxemburg) norm or the 1‐Amemiya (i.e. the Orlicz) norm, these results were known earlier. Some connections with the fixed point theory and the best approximation theory are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the locally uniformly non‐square point of Orlicz–Bochner sequence spaces endowed with Luxemburg norm. Analysing and combining the generating function M and properties of the real Banach space X , we get sufficient and necessary conditions of locally uniformly non‐square point, which contributes to criteria for locally uniform non‐squareness in Orlicz–Bochner sequence spaces. The results generalize the corresponding results in the classical Orlicz sequence spaces.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the oscillation of numerical solution for the Nicholson's blowflies model. Using two kinds of θ‐methods, namely, the linear θ‐method and the one‐leg θ‐method, several conditions under which the numerical solution oscillates are derived. Moreover, it is shown that every non‐oscillatory numerical solution tends to equilibrium point of the original continuous‐time model. In this article we construct multiplicative decompositions of holomorphic Fredholm operator valued functions on Stein manifolds with values in various algebras of differential and pseudo differential operators which are submultiplicative ψ* - algebras, a concept introduced by the first author. For Fredholm functions T(z) satisfying an obvious topological condition we. Prove (0.1) T(z) = A(z)(I + S(z)), where A(z) is holomorphic and invertible and S(z) is holomorphic with values in an “arbitrarily small” operator ideal. This is a stronger condition on S(z) than in the authors' additive decomposition theorem for meromorphic inverses of holomorphic Fredholm functions [12], where the smallness of S(z) depends on the number of complex variables. The Multiplicative Decomposition theorem (0.1) sharpens the authors' Regularization theorem [11]; in case of the Band algebra L(X) of all bounded linear operators on a Band space, (0.1) has been proved by J. Letterer [20] for one complex variable and by M. 0. Zaidenberg, S. G. Krein, P. A. Kuchment and A. A. Pankov [26] for the Banach ideal of compact operators.  相似文献

It is known that the bidual of a quasinormable Fréchet space E with local Banach spaces $(E_n)_{nin {mathbb N}}$ is topologically isomorphic to the inverse limit of $big (E_n^{prime prime }big )_{nin {mathbb N}}$. With the aid of the Arens product and by homological means, we prove that the previous result is equally valid for quasinormable Fréchet m‐convex algebras. This allows showing that the bidual of a σ‐C*‐algebra equipped with the Arens product is a σ‐C*‐algebra and presenting a new direct proof of a result on acyclic spectra due to Palamodov.  相似文献

We study an induction hardening model described by Maxwell's equations coupled with a heat equation. The magnetic induction field is assumed a nonlinear constitutional relation and the electric conductivity is temperature‐dependent. The Tψ method is to transform Maxwell's equations to the vector–scalar potential formulations and to solve the potentials by means of the finite element method. In this article, we present a fully discrete Tψ finite element scheme for this nonlinear coupled problem and discuss its solvability. We prove that the discrete solution converges to a weak solution of the continuous problem. Finally, we conclude with two numerical experiments for the coupled system.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to develop a fully discrete ( T ,ψ)‐ψe finite element decoupled scheme to solve time‐dependent eddy current problems with multiply‐connected conductors. By making ‘cuts’ and setting jumps of ψe across the cuts in nonconductive domain, the uniqueness of ψe is guaranteed. Distinguished from the traditional T ‐ ψ method, our decoupled scheme solves the potentials T and ψψe separately in two different simple equation systems, which avoids solving a saddle‐point equation system and leads to a remarkable reduction in computational efforts. The energy‐norm error estimate of the fully discrete decoupled scheme is provided. Finally, the scheme is applied to solve two benchmark problems—TEAM Workshop Problems 7 and IEEJ model. We introduce properties of Boolean algebras which are closely related to the existence of winning strategies in the Banach‐Mazur Boolean game. A σ‐short Boolean algebra is a Boolean algebra that has a dense subset in which every strictly descending sequence of length ω does not have a nonzero lower bound. We investigate Hilbert's ?-calculus in the context of intuitionistic type theories, that is, within certain systems of intuitionistic higher-order logic. We determine the additional deductive strength conferred on an intuitionistic type theory by the adjunction of closed ?-terms. We extend the usual topos semantics for type theories to the ?-operator and prove a completeness theorem. The paper also contains a discussion of the concept of “partially defined” ?-term. We prove several dichotomy theorems which extend some known results on σ‐bounded and σ‐compact pointsets. In particular we show that, given a finite number of $Delta ^{1}_{1}$ equivalence relations $mathrel {mathsf {F}}_1,dots ,mathrel {mathsf {F}}_n$, any $Sigma ^{1}_{1}$ set A of the Baire space either is covered by compact $Delta ^{1}_{1}$ sets and lightface $Delta ^{1}_{1}$ equivalence classes of the relations $mathrel {mathsf {F}}_i$, or A contains a superperfect subset which is pairwise $mathrel {mathsf {F}}_i$‐inequivalent for all i = 1, …, n. Hudzik, Kamińska and Masty?o obtained some geometric properties of Calderón–Lozanovski? function spaces which are defined on a nonatomic σ‐measure space in Houston. J. Math. 22 (1996), but left the case of atomic measure unsolved. We studied the relevant problems for the sequence spaces and obtained the following main results:
  1. For the Calderón–Lozanovski? sequence spaces , is order continuous if and only if and e is order continuous.
  2. Let Φ be strictly convex on , then the convex characteristic whenever e is not order continuous or ; if e is uniformly monotone and , then .
  3. For the Orlicz‐Lorentz sequence space , if or , or ω is not regular; if Φ is strictly convex on , and ω is regular.

The concept of (α,ψ)‐contractions was introduced by Samet et al. in this paper, we introduce (α,ψ)‐generalized contractions in a Hausdorff partial metric space. We discuss its significance and obtain some common fixed point theorems for a pair of self‐mappings. Some examples are given to support the theory.  相似文献

The application of the general tensor norms theory of Defant and Floret to the ideal of (p, σ)‐absolutely continuous operators of Matter, 0 < σ < 1, 1 ≤ p < ∞ leads to the study of gp′,σ‐nuclear and gp′,σ‐integral operators. Characterizations of such operators has been obtained previously in the case p > 1. In this paper we define square functions (also called Littlewood‐Paley‐Stein functions) associated with heat semigroups for Schrödinger and Laguerre operators acting on functions which take values in UMD Banach spaces. We extend classical (scalar) ‐boundedness properties for the square functions to our Banach valued setting by using γ‐radonifying operators. We also prove that these ‐boundedness properties of the square functions actually characterize the Banach spaces having the UMD property.  相似文献
