This paper concerns the Cauchy problem of a model system to the radiating gas in . Large time behaviors of classical solutions to the Cauchy problem are studied without needing the smallness assumption of initial perturbation in L1‐norm. We obtain the optimal HN‐norm time‐decay rates of the solutions in with 1 ≤ n ≤ 4 by applying the Fourier splitting method introduced by Schonbek (1980) with a slight modification and an energy method. Furthermore, when initial perturbation is bounded in Lp‐norm (p ∈ (1,2]), optimal LpL2 decay estimates of the derivatives of solutions are shown. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We prove that the error estimates of a large class of nonconforming finite elements are dominated by their approximation errors, which means that the well-known Cea's lemma is still valid for these nonconforming finite element methods. Furthermore, we derive the error estimates in both energy and L2 norms under the regularity assumption u ∈ H1+s(Ω) with any s 0. The extensions to other related problems are possible.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence of solutions with prescribed L2‐norm for the following Kirchhoff type equation: where N≤3,a,b > 0 are constants, p∈(2,2*),2*=6 if N = 3, and 2*=+ if N = 1,2. We obtain the sharp existence of global constraint minimizers for . In the case , the existence of solutions with prescribed L2‐norm is obtained for all L2‐norm. The key point is the analysis of excluding the dichotomy of the minimizing sequences for the related constrained minimization problem. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A low order characteristic‐nonconforming finite element method is proposed for solving a two‐dimensional convection‐dominated transport problem. On the basis of the distinguish property of element, that is, the consistency error can be estimated as order O(h2), one order higher than that of its interpolation error, the superclose result in broken energy norm is derived for the fully discrete scheme. In the process, we use the interpolation operator instead of the so‐called elliptic projection, which is an indispensable tool in the traditional finite element analysis. Furthermore, the global superconvergence is obtained by using the interpolated postprocessing technique. Lastly, some numerical experiments are provided to verify our theoretical analysis. We study the Korteweg‐de Vries equation subject to boundary condition in nonrectangular domain where , with some assumptions on functions (φi(t))1≤i≤2 and the coefficients of equation. The right‐hand side and its derivative with respect to t are in the Lebesgue space L2(Ω). Our goal is to establish the existence, the uniqueness, and the regularity of the solution.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the analysis of a linearized theta‐Galerkin finite element method for the time‐dependent coupled systems resulting from microsensor thermistor problems. Hereby, we focus on time discretization based on θ‐time stepping scheme with including the standard Crank‐Nicolson ( ) and the shifted Crank‐Nicolson ( , where δ is the time‐step) schemes. The semidiscrete formulation in space is presented and optimal error bounds in L2‐norm and the energy norm are established. For the fully discrete system, the optimal error estimates are derived for the standard Crank‐Nicolson, the shifted Crank‐Nicolson, and the general case where with k=0,1 . Finally, numerical simulations that validate the theoretical findings are exhibited.  相似文献

We investigate the decay property of a Timoshenko system of thermoelasticity in the whole space for both Fourier and Cattaneo laws of heat conduction. We point out that although the paradox of infinite propagation speed inherent in the Fourier law is removed by changing to the Cattaneo law, the latter always leads to a solution with the decay property of the regularity‐loss type. The main tool used to prove our results is the energy method in the Fourier space together with some integral estimates. We derive L2 decay estimates of solutions and observe that for the Fourier law the decay structure of solutions is of the regularity‐loss type if the wave speeds of the first and the second equations in the system are different. For the Cattaneo law, decay property of the regularity‐loss type occurs no matter what the wave speeds are. In addition, by restricting the initial data to with a suitably large s and γ ∈ [0,1], we can derive faster decay estimates with the decay rate improvement by a factor of t?γ/2. By rewriting a bipolar Euler–Poisson equations with damping into a Euler equation with damping coupled with a Euler–Poisson equation with damping and using a new spectral analysis, we obtain the optimal decay results of the solutions in L2 norm. More precisely, the velocities u1 and u2 decay at the L2?rate , which is faster than the normal L2‐rate for the heat equation and the Navier–Stokes equations. In addition, the decay rates of the disparities of two densities ρ1?ρ2 and the disparity of two velocities u1?u2 could reach to and in L2 norm, respectively. This article considers a limit system by passing to the limit in the following Cahn–Hilliard type phase‐field system related to tumor growth as β↘0: in a bounded or an unbounded domain with smooth‐bounded boundary. Here, , T > 0, α > 0, β > 0, p ≥ 0, B is a maximal monotone graph, and π is a Lipschitz continuous function. In the case that Ω is a bounded domain, p and ?Δ + 1 are replaced with p(φβ) and ?Δ, respectively, and p is a Lipschitz continuous function; Colli, Gilardi, Rocca, and Sprekels (Discrete Contin Dyn Syst Ser S 2017; 10:37–54) have proved existence of solutions to the limit problem with this approach by applying the Aubin–Lions lemma for the compact embedding H1(Ω)?L2(Ω) and the continuous embedding L2(Ω)?(H1(Ω))?. However, the Aubin–Lions lemma cannot be applied directly when Ω is an unbounded domain. The present work establishes existence of weak solutions to the limit problem along with uniqueness and error estimates in terms of the parameter β↘0. To this end, we construct an applicable theory by noting that the embedding H1(Ω)?L2(Ω) is not compact in the case that Ω is an unbounded domain.  相似文献

Let n≥3, Ω be a strongly Lipschitz domain of and LΩ:=?Δ+V a Schrödinger operator on L2(Ω) with the Dirichlet boundary condition, where Δ is the Laplace operator and the nonnegative potential V belongs to the reverse Hölder class for some q0>n/2. Assume that the growth function satisfies that ?(x,·) is an Orlicz function, (the class of uniformly Muckenhoupt weights) and its uniformly critical lower type index , where and μ0∈(0,1] denotes the critical regularity index of the heat kernels of the Laplace operator Δ on Ω. In this article, the authors first show that the heat kernels of LΩ satisfy the Gaussian upper bound estimates and the Hölder continuity. The authors then introduce the ‘geometrical’ Musielak–Orlicz–Hardy space via , the Hardy space associated with on , and establish its several equivalent characterizations, respectively, in terms of the non‐tangential or the vertical maximal functions or the Lusin area functions associated with LΩ. All the results essentially improve the known results even on Hardy spaces with p∈(n/(n + δ),1] (in this case, ?(x,t):=tp for all x∈Ω and t∈[0,)). Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper deals with the extinction properties of solutions for the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary value problem with the nonlocal source and interior absorption where m,λ,k,q > 0, 0 < m(p ? 1) < 1, r ≤ 1, and . By using Lp‐integral norm estimate method, we obtain the sufficient conditions of extinction solutions. Moreover, we also give the precise decay estimates of the extinction solutions. In this paper, we prove a Liouville‐type theorem for the steady compressible Hall‐magnetohydrodynamics system in Π, where Π is whole space or half space . We show that a smooth solution (ρ, u , B ,P) satisfying 1/C0<ρ<C0, , and B ∈L9/2(Π) for some constant C0>0 is indeed trivial. This generalizes and improves 2 results of Chae.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence and decay of solutions of the mixed problem for the nonlinear wave equation with boundary conditions Here, Ω is an open bounded set of with boundary Γ of class C2; Γ is constituted of two disjoint closed parts Γ0 and Γ1 both with positive measure; the functions μ(t), f(s), g(s) satisfy the conditions μ(t) ≥ μ0 > 0, f(s) ≥ 0, g(s) ≥ 0 for t ≥ 0, s ≥ 0 and h(x,s) is a real function where x ∈ Γ1, ν(x) is the unit outward normal vector at x ∈ Γ1 and α, β are non‐negative real constants. Assuming that h(x,s) is strongly monotone in s for each x ∈ Γ1, it is proved the global existence of solutions for the previous mixed problem. For that, it is used in the Galerkin method with a special basis, the compactness approach, the Strauss approximation for real functions and the trace theorem for nonsmooth functions. The exponential decay of the energy is derived by two methods: by using a Lyapunov functional and by Nakao's method. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to showing the upper semicontinuity of global attractors associated with the family of nonlinear viscoelastic equations in a three‐dimensional space, for f growing up to the critical exponent and dependent on ρ ∈ [0,4), as ρ→0+. This equation models extensional vibrations of thin rods with nonlinear material density ?(?tu) = |?tu|ρ and presence of memory effects. This type of problems has been extensively studied by several authors; the existence of a global attractor with optimal regularity for each ρ ∈ [0,4) were established only recently. The proof involves the optimal regularity of the attractors combined with Hausdorff's measure.  相似文献

We consider the attraction–repulsion chemotaxis system with rotational flux terms where is a bounded domain with smooth boundary. Here, S1 and S2 are given parameter functions on [0,)2×Ω with values in . It is shown that for any choice of suitably regular initial data (u0,v0,w0) fulfilling a smallness condition on the norm of v0,w0 in L(Ω), the corresponding initial‐boundary value problem possesses a global bounded classical solution. In this paper, the superconvergence analysis of a two‐grid method (TGM) with low‐order finite elements is presented for the fourth‐order dispersive‐dissipative wave equations for a second order fully discrete scheme. The superclose estimates in the H1‐norm on the two grids are obtained by the combination technique of the interpolation and Ritz projection. Then, with the help of the interpolated postprocessing technique, the global superconvergence properties are deduced. Finally, numerical results are provided to show the performance of the proposed TGM for conforming bilinear element and nonconforming element, respectively. It shows that the TGM is an effective method to the problem considered of our paper compared with the traditional Galerkin finite element method (FEM).  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the p‐Laplacian equations in with supercritical growth where △ pu = div( | ? u | p ? 2 ? u),1 < p < N is the p‐Laplacian operator. Under certain assumptions on V (x) and f(u) that will be given in Section 1, we prove that the problem has at least a nontrivial solution by using variational methods combined with perturbation arguments. The solutions to subcritical p‐Laplacian equations are estimated applying the L norm. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we provide a detailed convergence analysis for fully discrete second‐order (in both time and space) numerical schemes for nonlocal Allen‐Cahn and nonlocal Cahn‐Hilliard equations. The unconditional unique solvability and energy stability ensures ? 4 stability. The convergence analysis for the nonlocal Allen‐Cahn equation follows the standard procedure of consistency and stability estimate for the numerical error function. For the nonlocal Cahn‐Hilliard equation, because of the complicated form of the nonlinear term, a careful expansion of its discrete gradient is undertaken, and an H ?1 inner‐product estimate of this nonlinear numerical error is derived to establish convergence. In addition, an a priori bound of the numerical solution at the discrete level is needed in the error estimate. Such a bound can be obtained by performing a higher order consistency analysis by using asymptotic expansions for the numerical solution. Following the technique originally proposed by Strang (eg, 1964), instead of the standard comparison between the exact and numerical solutions, an error estimate between the numerical solution and the constructed approximate solution yields an O (s 3+h 4) convergence in norm, in which s and h denote the time step and spatial mesh sizes, respectively. This in turn leads to the necessary bound under a standard constraint s C h . Here, we also prove convergence of the scheme in the maximum norm under the same constraint.  相似文献
