The main purpose of this paper is to prove the following result. Let R be a 2-torsion free semiprime ring with symmetric Martindale ring of quotients Q s and let \({\theta}\) and \({\phi}\) be automorphisms of R. Suppose \({T:R\rightarrow R}\) is an additive mapping satisfying the relation \({T(xyx)=T(x)\theta (y)\theta (x)-\phi (x)T(y)\theta (x)+\phi (x)\phi (y)T(x)}\), for all pairs \({x,y\in R}\). In this case T is of the form \({2T(x)=q\theta (x)+\phi (x)q}\), for all \({x\in R}\) and some fixed element \({q\in Q_{s}}\).  相似文献

Let G be a locally compact abelian group, \(\omega \) be a weighted function on \({\mathbb {R}}^+\), and let \(\mathfrak {D}\) be the Banach algebra \(L_0^\infty (G)^*\) or \(L_0^\infty (\omega )^*\). In this paper, we investigate generalized derivations on the noncommutative Banach algebra \(\mathfrak {D}\). We characterize \(\textsf {k}\)-(skew) centralizing generalized derivations of \(\mathfrak {D}\) and show that the zero map is the only \(\textsf {k}\)-skew commuting generalized derivation of \(\mathfrak {D}\). We also investigate the Singer–Wermer conjecture for generalized derivations of \(\mathfrak {D}\) and prove that the Singer–Wermer conjecture holds for a generalized derivation of \(\mathfrak {D}\) if and only if it is a derivation; or equivalently, it is nilpotent. Finally, we investigate the orthogonality of generalized derivations of \(L_0^\infty (\omega )^*\) and give several necessary and sufficient conditions for orthogonal generalized derivations of \(L_0^\infty (\omega )^*\).  相似文献

Let R be a 6-torsion-free prime ring and let \({D : R \rightarrow R}\) be an additive mapping satisfying the relation 2D(x 4) = D(x 3)x + x 3 D(x) + D(x)x 3 + xD(x 3) for all \({x \in R}\) . The purpose of this paper is to show that D is a derivation. This result is related to a classical result of Herstein, which states that any Jordan derivation on a 2-torsion-free prime ring is a derivation.  相似文献

Let \(n \ge 2\) be a fixed integer, R be a noncommutative n!-torsion free ring and I be any non zero ideal of R. In this paper we have proved the following results; (i) If R is a prime ring and there exists a symmetric skew n-derivation \(D: R^n \rightarrow R\) associated with the automorphism \(\sigma \) on R,  such that the trace function \(\delta : R \rightarrow R \) of D satisfies \([\delta (x), \sigma (x)] =0\), for all \(x\in I,\) then \(D=0;\,\)(ii) If R is a semi prime ring and the trace function \(\delta ,\) commuting on I,  satisfies \([\delta (x), \sigma (x)]\in Z\), for all \(x \in I,\) then \([\delta (x), \sigma (x)] = 0 \), for all \(x \in I.\) Moreover, we have proved some annihilating conditions for algebraic identity involving multiplicative(generalized) derivation.  相似文献

Let A be a Banach algebra with a bounded left approximate identity \(\{e_\lambda \}_{\lambda \in \Lambda }\), let \(\pi \) be a continuous representation of A on a Banach space X, and let S be a non-empty subset of X such that \(\lim _{\lambda }\pi (e_\lambda )s=s\) uniformly on S. If S is bounded, or if \(\{e_\lambda \}_{\lambda \in \Lambda }\) is commutative, then we show that there exist \(a\in A\) and maps \(x_n: S\rightarrow X\) for \(n\ge 1\) such that \(s=\pi (a^n)x_n(s)\) for all \(n\ge 1\) and \(s\in S\). The properties of \(a\in A\) and the maps \(x_n\), as produced by the constructive proof, are studied in some detail. The results generalize previous simultaneous factorization theorems as well as Allan and Sinclair’s power factorization theorem. In an ordered context, we also consider the existence of a positive factorization for a subset of the positive cone of an ordered Banach space that is a positive module over an ordered Banach algebra with a positive bounded left approximate identity. Such factorizations are not always possible. In certain cases, including those for positive modules over ordered Banach algebras of bounded functions, such positive factorizations exist, but the general picture is still unclear. Furthermore, simultaneous pointwise power factorizations for sets of bounded maps with values in a Banach module (such as sets of bounded convergent nets) are obtained. A worked example for the left regular representation of \(\mathrm {C}_0({\mathbb R})\) and unbounded S is included.  相似文献

Let R be a ring and \({\mathbb{N}}\) be the set of all non-negative integers. A family of maps \({D=\{d_n\}_{n \in\mathbb{N}}}\) is said to be Jordan triple higher derivable if \({d_n(aba)=\sum \nolimits_{p+q+r=n} d_p(a)d_q(b)d_r(a)}\) holds for all \({a,b \in R}\), where d 0 = I R , (the identity map on R). In this paper, we determine Jordan triple higher derivable map on a ring R, which contains a nontrivial idempotent which is automatically additive. An immediate application of our main result shows that every Jordan triple higher derivable map becomes higher derivation on R.  相似文献

Let \(n\in \mathbb {N}\), A and B be Banach algebras and let B be a right A-module. We say that a linear mapping \(\varphi :A\longrightarrow B\) is a pseudo n-Jordan homomorphism if there exists an element \(w\in A\) such that \(\varphi (a^nw)=\varphi (a)^n\cdot w\), for every \(a\in A\) and \(n\ge \) 2. In this paper, among other things, we show that under some conditions if a linear mapping \(\varphi \) is a (pseudo) n-Jordan homomorphism, then it is a (pseudo) \((n + 1)\)-Jordan homomorphism. Additionally, we investigate automatic continuity of surjective pseudo n-Jordan homomorphisms under some conditions.  相似文献

For completely contractive Banach algebras A and B (respectively operator algebras A and B), the necessary and sufficient conditions for the operator space projective tensor product \({A\widehat{\otimes}B}\) (respectively the Haagerup tensor product \({A\otimes^{h}B}\)) to be Arens regular are obtained. Using the non-commutative Grothendieck inequality, we show that, for C*-algebras A and B, \({A\otimes^{\gamma} B}\) is Arens regular if \({A\widehat{\otimes}B}\) and \({A\widehat{\otimes}B^{op}}\) are Arens regular whereas \({A\widehat{\otimes}B}\) is Arens regular if and only if \({A\otimes^{h}B}\) and \({B\otimes^{h}A}\) are, where \({\otimes^h}\), \({\otimes^{\gamma}}\), and \({\widehat{\otimes}}\) are the Haagerup, the Banach space projective tensor norm, and the operator space projective tensor norm, respectively.  相似文献

We provide conditions for a linear map of the form \(C_{R,T}(S)=RST\) to be q-frequently hypercyclic on algebras of operators on separable Banach spaces. In particular, if R is a bounded operator satisfying the q-frequent hypercyclicity criterion, then the map \(C_{R}(S)=RSR^*\) is shown to be q-frequently hypercyclic on the space \(\mathcal {K}(H)\) of all compact operators and the real topological vector space \(\mathcal {S}(H)\) of all self-adjoint operators on a separable Hilbert space H. Further we provide a condition for \(C_{R,T}\) to be q-frequently hypercyclic on the Schatten von Neumann classes \(S_p(H)\). We also characterize frequent hypercyclicity of \(C_{M^*_\varphi ,M_\psi }\) on the trace-class of the Hardy space, where the symbol \(M_\varphi \) denotes the multiplication operator associated to \(\varphi \).  相似文献

Ordered vector spaces E and F are said to be order isomorphic if there is a (not necessarily linear) bijection \(T: E\rightarrow F\) such that \(x\ge y\) if and only if \(Tx \ge Ty\) for all \(x,y \in E\). We investigate some situations under which an order isomorphism between two Banach lattices implies the persistence of some linear lattice structure. For instance, it is shown that if a Banach lattice E is order isomorphic to C(K) for some compact Hausdorff space K, then E is (linearly) isomorphic to C(K) as a Banach lattice. Similar results hold for Banach lattices order isomorphic to \(c_{0}\), and for Banach lattices that contain a closed sublattice order isomorphic to \(c_{0}\).  相似文献

Here we show that every normal band N can be embedded into the normal band \(\mathcal {B(S)}\) of all k-bi-ideals, the left part \(N/ \mathcal {R}\) of N into the left normal band \(\mathcal {R(S)}\) of all right k-ideals, the right part \(N/ \mathcal {L}\) of N into the right normal band \(\mathcal {L(S)}\) of all left k-ideals, and the greatest semilattice homomorphic image \(N/ \mathcal {J}\) of N into the semilattice of all k-ideals of a same k-regular and intra k-regular semiring S.  相似文献

We apply the theory of generalized polynomial identities with automorphisms and skew derivations to prove the following theorem: Let A be a prime ring with the extended centroid C and with two-sided Martindale quotient ring Q, R a nonzero right ideal of A and \(\delta \) a nonzero \(\sigma \)-derivation of A, where \(\sigma \) is an epimorphism of A. For \(x,y\in A\), we set \([x,y] = xy - yx\). If \([[\ldots [[\delta (x^{n_0}),x^{n_1}],x^{n_{2}}],\ldots ],x^{n_k}]=0\) for all \(x\in R\), where \(n_{0},n_{1},\ldots ,n_{k}\) are fixed positive integers, then one of the following conditions holds: (1) A is commutative; (2) \(C\cong GF(2)\), the Galois field of two elements; (3) there exist \(b\in Q\) and \(\lambda \in C\) such that \(\delta (x)=\sigma (x)b-bx\) for all \(x\in A\), \((b-\lambda )R=0\) and \(\sigma (R)=0\). The analogous result for left ideals is also obtained. Our theorems are natural generalizations of the well-known results for derivations obtained by Lanski (Proc Am Math Soc 125:339–345, 1997) and Lee (Can Math Bull 38:445–449, 1995).  相似文献

We consider the problem \(-\Delta u = \left\vert u\right\vert ^{2^\ast-2} u\,{\rm in}\,\Omega, \quad u = 0\,{\rm on}\,\partial\Omega,\) where Ω is a bounded smooth domain in \(\mathbb{R}^{N}\), Nq3, and \(2^{\ast}=\frac{2N}{N-2}\) is the critical Sobolev exponent. We assume that Ω is annular shaped, i.e. there are constants R 2R 1 >  0 such that \(\{x \in \mathbb{R}^{N} : R_{1} < |x| < R_{2}\} \subset \Omega\) and \(0 \not\in \Omega.\) We also assume that Ω is invariant under a group Γ of orthogonal transformations of \(\mathbb{R}^{N}\) without fixed points. We establish the existence of multiple sign changing solutions if, either Γ is arbitrary and R 1/R 2 is small enough, or R 1/R 2 is arbitrary and the minimal Γ-orbit of Ω is large enough. We believe this is the first existence result for sign changing solutions in domains with holes of arbitrary size. The proof takes advantage of the invariance of this problem under the group of Möbius transformations.  相似文献

Given a model \(\mathcal {M}\) of set theory, and a nontrivial automorphism j of \(\mathcal {M}\), let \(\mathcal {I}_{\mathrm {fix}}(j)\) be the submodel of \(\mathcal {M}\) whose universe consists of elements m of \(\mathcal {M}\) such that \(j(x)=x\) for every x in the transitive closure of m (where the transitive closure of m is computed within \(\mathcal {M}\)). Here we study the class \(\mathcal {C}\) of structures of the form \(\mathcal {I}_{\mathrm {fix}}(j)\), where the ambient model \(\mathcal {M}\) satisfies a frugal yet robust fragment of \(\mathrm {ZFC}\) known as \(\mathrm {MOST}\), and \(j(m)=m\) whenever m is a finite ordinal in the sense of \(\mathcal {M}.\) Our main achievement is the calculation of the theory of \(\mathcal {C}\) as precisely \(\mathrm {MOST+\Delta }_{0}^{\mathcal {P}}\)-\(\mathrm {Collection}\). The following theorems encapsulate our principal results: Theorem A. Every structure in \(\mathcal {C}\) satisfies \(\mathrm {MOST+\Delta }_{0}^{\mathcal {P}}\)-\(\mathrm { Collection}\). Theorem B. Each of the following three conditions is sufficient for a countable structure \(\mathcal {N}\) to be in \(\mathcal {C}\):(a) \(\mathcal {N}\) is a transitive model of \(\mathrm {MOST+\Delta }_{0}^{\mathcal {P}}\)-\(\mathrm {Collection}\).(b) \(\mathcal {N}\) is a recursively saturated model of \(\mathrm {MOST+\Delta }_{0}^{\mathcal {P}}\)-\(\mathrm {Collection}\).(c) \(\mathcal {N}\) is a model of \(\mathrm {ZFC}\). Theorem C. Suppose \(\mathcal {M}\) is a countable recursively saturated model of \(\mathrm {ZFC}\) and I is a proper initial segment of \(\mathrm {Ord}^{\mathcal {M}}\) that is closed under exponentiation and contains \(\omega ^\mathcal {M}\) . There is a group embedding \(j\longmapsto \check{j}\) from \(\mathrm {Aut}(\mathbb {Q})\) into \(\mathrm {Aut}(\mathcal {M})\) such that I is the longest initial segment of \(\mathrm {Ord}^{\mathcal {M}}\) that is pointwise fixed by \(\check{j}\) for every nontrivial \(j\in \mathrm {Aut}(\mathbb {Q}).\) In Theorem C, \(\mathrm {Aut}(X)\) is the group of automorphisms of the structure X, and \(\mathbb {Q}\) is the ordered set of rationals.  相似文献

Consider the Banach space m of real bounded sequences, x, with \({\Vert x\Vert =\sup_{k}|x_{k}|}\). A positive linear functional L on m is called an S-limit if \({L(\chi _{K})=0}\) for every characteristic sequence \({\chi _{K} }\) of sets, K, of natural density zero. We provide regular sublinear functionals that both generate as well as dominate S-limits. The paper also shows that the set of S-limits and the collection of Banach limits are distinct but their intersection is not empty. Furthermore, we show that the generalized limits generated by translative regular methods is equal to the set of Banach limits. Some applications are also provided.  相似文献

A result of Nakayama and Skornyakov states that a ring R is an Artinian serial ring if and only if every R-module is serial. This motivated us to study commutative rings for which every proper ideal is serial. In this paper, we determine completely the structure of commutative rings R of which every proper ideal is serial. It is shown that every proper ideal of R is serial, if and only if, either R is a serial ring, or R is a local ring with maximal ideal \({\mathcal {M}}\) such that there exist a uniserial module U and a semisimple module T with \({\mathcal {M}}=U\oplus T\). Moreover, in the latter case, every proper ideal of R is isomorphic to \(U^{\prime }\oplus T^{\prime }\), for some \(U^{\prime }\leq U\) and \(T^{\prime }\leq T\). Furthermore, it is shown that every proper ideal of a commutative Noetherian ring R is serial, if and only if, either R is a finite direct product of discrete valuation domains and local Artinian principal ideal rings, or R is a local ring with maximal ideal \({\mathcal {M}}\) containing a set of elements {w 1,…,w n } such that \({\mathcal {M}}=\bigoplus _{i=1}^{n} Rw_{i}\) with at most one non-simple summand. Moreover, another equivalent condition states that: there exists an integer n ≥ 1 such that every proper ideal of R is a direct sum of at most n uniserial R-modules. Finally, we discuss some examples to illustrate our results.  相似文献

It is proved that when R is a local ring of positive characteristic, \({\phi\colon R{\to} R}\) is its Frobenius endomorphism, and some non-zero finite R-module has finite flat dimension or finite injective dimension for the R-module structure induced through \({\phi}\) , then R is regular. This broad generalization of Kunz’s characterization of regularity in positive characteristic is deduced from a theorem concerning a local ring R with residue field of k of arbitrary characteristic: If \({\phi}\) is a contracting endomorphism of R, then the Betti numbers and the Bass numbers over \({\phi}\) of any non-zero finitely generated R-module grow at the same rate, on an exponential scale, as the Betti numbers of k over R.  相似文献

Let \(\mathcal{H}\) be an infinite dimensional complex Hilbert space and \(\mathcal{A}\) be a standard operator algebra on \(\mathcal{H}\) which is closed under the adjoint operation. It is shown that each nonlinear *-Lie-type derivation δ on \(\mathcal{A}\) is a linear *-derivation. Moreover, δ is an inner *-derivation as well.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate linear codes with complementary dual (LCD) codes and formally self-dual codes over the ring \(R=\mathbb {F}_{q}+v\mathbb {F}_{q}+v^{2}\mathbb {F}_{q}\), where \(v^{3}=v\), for q odd. We give conditions on the existence of LCD codes and present construction of formally self-dual codes over R. Further, we give bounds on the minimum distance of LCD codes over \(\mathbb {F}_q\) and extend these to codes over R.  相似文献

Let A and B be non-negative self-adjoint operators in a separable Hilbert space such that their form sum C is densely defined. It is shown that the Trotter product formula holds for imaginary parameter values in the L 2-norm, that is, one has
$ \lim_{n\to+\infty} \int\limits^T_{-T} \left\|\left(e^{-itA/n}e^{-itB/n} \right)^nh - e^{-itC}h\right\|^2dt = 0 $
for each element h of the Hilbert space and any T > 0. This result is extended to the class of holomorphic Kato functions, to which the exponential function belongs. Moreover, for a class of admissible functions: \({\phi(\cdot),\psi(\cdot):{\mathbb R}_+ \longrightarrow {\mathbb C}}\), where \({{\mathbb R}_+ := [0,\infty)}\), satisfying in addition \({{\Re{\rm e}}\,(\phi(y))\ge 0, {\Im{\rm m}}\,(\phi(y) \le 0}\) and \({{\Im{\rm m}}\,(\psi(y)) \le 0}\) for \({y \in {\mathbb R}_+}\), we prove that
$ \,\mbox{\rm s-}\hspace{-2pt} \lim_{n\to\infty}(\phi(tA/n)\psi(tB/n))^n = e^{-itC} $
holds true uniformly on \({[0,T]\ni t}\) for any T > 0.
