This paper pertains to the J-Hermitian geometry of model domains introduced by Lee (Mich. Math. J. 54(1), 179–206, 2006; J. Reine Angew. Math. 623, 123–160, 2008). We first construct a Hermitian invariant metric on the Lee model and show that the invariant metric actually coincides with the Kobayashi-Royden metric, thus demonstrating an uncommon phenomenon that the Kobayashi-Royden metric is J-Hermitian in this case. Then we follow Cartan’s differential-form approach and find differential-geometric invariants, including torsion invariants, of the Lee model equipped with this J-Hermitian Kobayashi-Royden metric, and present a theorem that characterizes the Lee model by those invariants, up to J-holomorphic isometric equivalence. We also present an all dimensional analysis of the asymptotic behavior of the Kobayashi metric near the strongly pseudoconvex boundary points of domains in almost complex manifolds.  相似文献

The question of how best to prosecute the ‘war on terror’ leads to strategic interaction in an intertemporal setting. We consider a nonzero sum differential game between a government and a terrorist organisation. Due to the state-separability of the game we are able to determine Nash and Stackelberg solutions in analytic form. Their comparison as well as the sensitivity analysis deliver interesting insight into the design of efficient measures to combat terror.  相似文献

Under suitable assumptions on the coefficients, the unique strong solution of the above equation admits a density with respect to Lebesgue measure, and so does its Euler scheme. The main aim of this paper is to study the stability of the stochastic functional differential equations with infinite delay. We establish several Razumikhin-type theorems on the exponential stability for stochastic functional differential equations with infinite delay. By applying these results to stochastic differential equations with distributed delay, we obtain some sufficient conditions for both pth moment and almost surely exponentially stable. Finally, some examples are presented to illustrate our theory.  相似文献

Index-tracking is a low-cost alternative to active portfolio management. The implementation of a quantitative approach, however, is a major challenge from an optimization perspective. The optimal selection of a group of assets that can replicate the index of a much larger portfolio requires both to find the optimal subset of assets and to fine-tune their weights. The former is a combinatorial, the latter a continuous numerical problem. Both problems need to be addressed simultaneously, because whether or not a selection of assets is promising depends on the allocation weights and vice versa. Moreover, the problem is usually of high dimension. Typically, an optimal subset of 30–150 positions out of 100–600 need to be selected and their weights determined. Search heuristics can be a valuable alternative to traditional methods, which often cannot deal with the problem. In this paper, we propose a new optimization method, which is partly based on Differential Evolution (DE) and on combinatorial search. The main advantage of our method is that it can tackle the index-tracking problem as complex as it is, generating accurate and robust results.  相似文献

This paper considers fourth-order differential equations with four-point boundary conditions and deviating arguments. We establish sufficient conditions under which such boundary-value problems have positive solutions. We discuss such problems in the cases when the deviating arguments are delayed or advanced. In order to obtain the existence of at least three positive solutions, we use a fixed-point theorem due to Avery and Peterson. To the authors’ knowledge, this is a first paper where the existence of positive solutions of boundary-value problems for fourth-order differential equations with deviating arguments is discussed.  相似文献

We derive a Reilly-type formula for differential p-forms on a compact manifold with boundary and apply it to give a sharp lower bound of the spectrum of the Hodge Laplacian acting on differential forms of an embedded hypersurface of a Riemannian manifold. The equality case of our inequality gives rise to a number of rigidity results, when the geometry of the boundary has special properties and the domain is non-negatively curved. Finally, we also obtain, as a byproduct of our calculations, an upper bound of the first eigenvalue of the Hodge Laplacian when the ambient manifold supports non-trivial parallel forms.  相似文献

Ramanujan’s differential equations for the classical Eisenstein series are of great importance to many areas in number theory and special functions. H.H. Chan recently demonstrated that these differential equations can be derived from the triple product identity and the quintuple product identity in an elementary manner. In this article, we extend this method in a uniform manner to derive corresponding differential equations for the Eisenstein series of level 2. The algorithm of approximate analytical solution for delay differential equations (DDE) is obtained via homotopy analysis method (HAM) and modified homotopy analysis method (MHAM). Various examples of linear, nonlinear and system of initial value problems of DDE are solved and the results obtained show that these algorithms are accurate and efficient for the DDE. We consider a duopolistic industry where the current sales of each firm is proportional to its goodwill stock. The evolution of the latter depends positively on own advertising effort and negatively on competitor’s advertising. A standard assumption in the literature in differential games of advertising is that the players remain active throughout the whole (infinite) duration of the game. We relax this assumption and characterize the circumstances under which a firm finds it optimal to remain or exit the industry. Among other things, it is shown that, if both players are “strong”, then the unique Nash equilibrium is the same that one would obtain in the absence of interference from competitor’s advertising. In this note, we establish a sufficient condition for the controllability of a first-order semilinear differential system with nonlocal initial conditions in Banach spaces. The approach used is the Sadovskii fixed-point theorem combined with operator semigroups. Particularly, the compactness of the operator semigroups is not needed in this article. Y.K. A class of state-redundant differential games is detected, where players can be partitioned into two groups, so that the state dynamics and the payoff functions of all players are additively separable w.r.t. controls and states of any two players belonging to different groups. We prove that, in this class of games, open-loop Nash and feedback Stackelberg equilibria coincide, both being strongly time consistent. This allows us to bypass the issue of the time inconsistency that typically affects the open-loop Stackelberg solution.  相似文献

The existence and uniqueness of the global solution of stochastic differential equations with discrete variable delay is investigated in this paper, and the pathwise estimation is also done by using Lyapunov function method and exponential martingale inequality. The results can be used not only in the case of bounded delay but also in the case of unbounded delay. As the applications, this paper considers the pathwise estimation of solutions of stochastic pantograph equations.  相似文献

We study the effect of a magnetic field on the behaviour of a slender conducting elastic structure, motivated by stability problems of electrodynamic space tethers. Both static (buckling) and dynamic (whirling) instability are considered and we also compute post-buckling configurations. The equations used are the geometrically exact Kirchhoff equations. Magnetic buckling of a welded rod is found to be described by a surprisingly degenerate bifurcation, which is unfolded when both transverse anisotropy of the rod and angular velocity are considered. By solving the linearised equations about the (quasi-) stationary solutions, we find various secondary instabilities. Our results are relevant for current designs of electrodynamic space tethers and potentially for future applications in nano- and molecular wires.  相似文献

The numerical analysis of a dynamic constrained optimization problem is presented. It consists of a global minimization problem that is coupled with a system of ordinary differential equations. The activation and the deactivation of inequality constraints induce discontinuity points in the time evolution. A numerical method based on an operator splitting scheme and a fixed point algorithm is advocated. The ordinary differential equations are approximated by the Crank-Nicolson scheme, while a primal-dual interior-point method with warm-starts is used to solve the minimization problem. The computation of the discontinuity points is based on geometric arguments, extrapolation polynomials and sensitivity analysis. Second order convergence of the method is proved when an inequality constraint is activated. Numerical results for atmospheric particles confirm the theoretical investigations.  相似文献

Tucker’s well-known combinatorial lemma states that, for any given symmetric triangulation of the n-dimensional unit cube and for any integer labeling that assigns to each vertex of the triangulation a label from the set {±1,±2,…,±n} with the property that antipodal vertices on the boundary of the cube are assigned opposite labels, the triangulation admits a 1-dimensional simplex whose two vertices have opposite labels. In this paper, we are concerned with an arbitrary finite set D of integral vectors in the n-dimensional Euclidean space and an integer labeling that assigns to each element of D a label from the set {±1,±2,…,±n}. Using a constructive approach, we prove two combinatorial theorems of Tucker type. The theorems state that, under some mild conditions, there exists two integral vectors in D having opposite labels and being cell-connected in the sense that both belong to the set {0,1} n +q for some integral vector q. These theorems are used to show in a constructive way the existence of an integral solution to a system of nonlinear equations under certain natural conditions.
