We obtain the boundedness of Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operators T of non-convolution type on Hardy spaces H p (X) for 1/(1 + ε) < p ? 1, where X is a space of homogeneous type in the sense of Coifman and Weiss (1971), and ε is the regularity exponent of the kernel of the singular integral operator T. Our approach relies on the discrete Littlewood-Paley-Stein theory and discrete Calderón’s identity. The crucial feature of our proof is to avoid atomic decomposition and molecular theory in contrast to what was used in the literature.  相似文献

We investigate one dimensional symmetric Schrödinger operator H X, β with δ′-interactions of strength β = “β n n = 1 ? ? on a discrete set X = “x n n = 1 ? [0, b), b ≤ +∞ (x n b). We consider H X, β as an extension of the minimal operator H min:= ?d 2/dx 2?W 0 2.2 (?\X) and study its spectral properties in the frame-work of the extension theory by using the technique of boundary triplets and the corresponding Weyl functions. The construction of a boundary triplet for H min * is given in the case d *:= infn ∈ ?\x n ? x n ? 1\ = 0. We show that spectral properties like self-adjointness, lower semiboundedness, nonnegativity, and discreteness of the spectrum of the operator H X, β correlate with the corresponding properties of a certain Jacobi matrix. In the case β n > 0, n ∈ ?, these matrices form a subclass of Jacobi matrices generated by the Krein-Stieltjes strings. The connection discovered enables us to obtain simple conditions for the operator H X, β to be self-adjoint, lower semibounded and discrete. These conditions depend significantly not only on β but also on X. Moreover, as distinct from the case d * > 0, the spectral properties of Hamiltonians with δ- and δ′-interactions in the case d * = 0 substantially differ.  相似文献

A periodic Schrödinger operator on a noncompact Riemannian manifold M such that H 1(M, ?) = 0 endowed with a properly discontinuous cocompact isometric action of a discrete group is considered. Under some additional conditions on the magnetic field, the existence of an arbitrary large number of gaps in the spectrum of such an operator in the semiclassical limit is established. The proofs are based on the study of the tunneling effect in the corresponding quantum system.  相似文献

We consider a closed set S?? n and a linear operator
$\Phi \colon \mathbb{R}[X_1,\ldots,X_n]\rightarrow \mathbb{R}[X_1,\ldots,X_n]$
that preserves nonnegative polynomials, in the following sense: if f≥0 on S, then Φ(f)≥0 on S as well. We show that each such operator is given by integration with respect to a measure taking nonnegative functions as its values. This can be seen as a generalization of Haviland’s Theorem, which concerns linear functionals on ?[X 1,…,X n ]. For compact sets S we use the result to show that any nonnegativity preserving operator is a pointwise limit of very simple nonnegativity preservers with finite dimensional range.

We study the operator algebra associated with a self-mapping ? on a countable set X which can be represented as a directed graph. The algebra is generated by the family of partial isometries acting on the corresponding l2(X). We study the structure of involutive semigroup multiplicatively generated by the family of partial isometries. We formulate the criterion when the algebra is irreducible on the Hilbert space. We consider the concrete examples of operator algebras. In particular, we give the examples of nonisomorphic C*-algebras, which are the extensions by compact operators of the algebra of continuous functions on the unit circle.  相似文献

Any (measurable) function K from Rn to R defines an operator K acting on random variables X by K(X) = K(X1,..., Xn), where the Xj are independent copies of X. The main result of this paper concerns continuous selectors H, continuous functions defined in Rn and such that H(x1, x2,..., xn) ∈ {x1, x2,..., xn}. For each such continuous selector H (except for projections onto a single coordinate) there is a unique point ωH in the interval (0, 1) so that, for any random variable X, the iterates H(N) acting on X converge in distribution as N → ∞ to the ωH-quantile of X.  相似文献

We introduce a lower semicontinuous analog, L ?(X), of the well-studied space of upper semicontinuous set-valued maps with nonempty compact interval images. Because the elements of L ?(X) contain continuous selections, the space C(X) of real-valued continuous functions on X can be used to establish properties of L ?(X), such as the two interrelated main theorems. The first of these theorems, the Extension Theorem, is proved in this Part I. The Extension Theorem says that for binormal spaces X and Y, every bimonotone homeomorphism between C(X) and C(Y) can be extended to an ordered homeomorphism between L ?(X) and L ?(Y). The second main theorem, the Factorization Theorem, is proved in Part II. The Factorization Theorem says that for binormal spaces X and Y, every ordered homeomorphism between L ?(X) and L ?(Y) can be characterized by a unique factorization.  相似文献

Using known Ca-multiplier result, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for the second order delay equations:
u″(t)=Au(t)+Fut+Gu′+f(t),t∈R
to have maximal regularity in HSlder continuous function spaces C^α (R, X), where X is a Banach space, A is a closed operator in X, F, G ∈L(C([-r, 0], X), X) are delay operators for some fixed r 〉 0.  相似文献

We study the well-posedness of the third-order degenerate differential equation \(\left( {{P_3}} \right):\alpha {\left( {Mu} \right)^{\prime \prime \prime }}\left( t \right) + {\left( {Mu} \right)^{\prime \prime }}\left( t \right) = \beta Au\left( t \right) + f\left( t \right)\), (t ∈ [0, 2p]) with periodic boundary conditions \(Mu\left( 0 \right) = Mu\left( {2\pi } \right),\;Mu'\left( 0 \right) = Mu'\left( {2\pi } \right),\;Mu''\left( 0 \right) = Mu''\left( {2\pi } \right)\), in periodic Lebesgue–Bochner spaces Lp(T,X), periodic Besov spaces Bp,qs(T,X) and periodic Triebel–Lizorkin spaces Fp,qs(T,X), where A, B and M are closed linear operators on a Banach space X satisfying D(A) \( \cap \)D(B) ? D(M) and α, β, γ ∈ R. Using known operator-valued Fourier multiplier theorems, we completely characterize the well-posedness of (P3) in the above three function spaces.  相似文献

For an embedding i : X ? M of smooth manifolds and a Fourier integral operator Φ on M defined as the quantization of a canonical transformation g: T*M \ {0} → T*M \ {0}, we consider the operator ii* on the submanifold X, where i* and i* are the boundary and coboundary operators corresponding to the embedding i. We present conditions on the transformation g under which such an operator has the form of a Fourier integral operator associated with the fiber of the cotangent bundle over a point. We obtain an explicit formula for calculating the amplitude of this operator in local coordinates.  相似文献

We introduce the notion of the right approximation property with respect to an operator ideal A and solve the duality problem for the approximation property with respect to an operator ideal A, that is, a Banach space X has the approximation property with respect to A d whenever X* has the right approximation property with respect to an operator ideal A. The notions of the left bounded approximation property and the left weak bounded approximation property for a Banach operator ideal are introduced and new symmetric results are obtained. Finally, the notions of the p-compact sets and the p-approximation property are extended to arbitrary Banach operator ideals. Known results of the approximation property with respect to an operator ideal and the p-approximation property are generalized.  相似文献

We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for a Hill operator (i.e., a one-dimensional periodic Schrö dinger operator) H = ?d 2 /dx 2 + V to be a spectral operator of scalar type. The conditions show the remarkable fact that the property of a Hill operator being a spectral operator is independent of smoothness (or even analyticity) properties of the potential V. In the course of our analysis, we also establish a functional model for periodic Schrödinger operators that are spectral operators of scalar type and develop the corresponding eigenfunction expansion. The problem of deciding which Hill operators are spectral operators of scalar type appears to have been open for about 40 years.  相似文献

We prove pointwise convexity (Jensen-type) inequalities of the form Open image in new window where F is a convex function defined on a convex subset of some Banach space X and T is the X-valued extension of a positive operator on some function space. Examples include the pointwise Hölder inequality T(fg) ≤ (Tf p )1/ p (Tf q )1/ q for a positive sublinear operator T. As applications we consider vector-valued conditional expectation and a ``real'' proof of the Riesz-Thorin theorem for positive operators.  相似文献

We investigate the approximation rate for certain centered Gaussian fields by a general approach. Upper estimates are proved in the context of so–called Hölder operators and lower estimates follow from the eigenvalue behavior of some related self–adjoint integral operator in a suitable L 2(μ)–space. In particular, we determine the approximation rate for the Lévy fractional Brownian motion X H with Hurst parameter H∈(0,1), indexed by a self–similar set T?? N of Hausdorff dimension D. This rate turns out to be of order n ?H/D (log?n)1/2. In the case T=[0,1] N we present a concrete wavelet representation of X H leading to an approximation of X H with the optimal rate n ?H/N (log?n)1/2.  相似文献

We consider the Dirac operator on the interval [0, 1] with the periodic boundary conditions and with a continuous potential Q(x) whose diagonal is zero and which satisfies the condition Q(x) = QT(1?x), x ∈ [0, 1]. We establish a relationship between the spectrum of this operator and the spectra of related functional-differential operators with involution. We prove that the system of eigenfunctions of this Dirac operator has the Riesz basis property in the space L 2 2 [0, 1].  相似文献

Let (X, d) be a locally compact separable ultrametric space. Let D be the set of all locally constant functions having compact support. Given a measure m and a symmetric function J(x, y) we consider the linear operator LJf(x) = ∫(f(x) ? f(y)) J(x, y)dm(y) defined on the set D. When J(x, y) is isotropic and satisfies certain conditions, the operator (?LJ, D) acts in L2(X,m), is essentially self-adjoint and extends as a self-adjoint Markov generator, its Markov semigroup admits a continuous heat kernel pJ (t, x, y). When J(x, y) is not isotropic but uniformly in x, y is comparable to isotropic function J(x, y) as above the operator (?LJ, D) extends in L2(X,m) as a self-adjointMarkov generator, its Markov semigroup admits a continuous heat kernel pJ(t, x, y), and the function pJ(t, x, y) is uniformly comparable in t, x, y to the function pJ(t, x, y), the heat kernel related to the operator (?LJ,D).  相似文献

Let (X, q) be an elliptic curve marked at the origin. Starting from any cover π: Γ → X of an elliptic curve X marked at d points {π i } of the fiber π ?1(q) and satisfying a particular criterion, Krichever constructed a family of d × d matrix KP solitons, that is, matrix solutions, doubly periodic in x, of the KP equation. Moreover, if Γ has a meromorphic function f: Γ → P1 with a double pole at each p i , then these solutions are doubly periodic solutions of the matrix KdV equation U t = 1/4(3UU x + 3U x U + U xxx ). In this article, we restrict ourselves to the case in which there exists a meromorphic function with a unique double pole at each of the d points {p i }; i.e. Γ is hyperelliptic and each pi is a Weierstrass point of Γ. More precisely, our purpose is threefold: (1) present simple polynomial equations defining spectral curves of matrix KP elliptic solitons; (2) construct the corresponding polynomials via the vector Baker–Akhiezer function of X; (3) find arbitrarily high genus spectral curves of matrix KdV elliptic solitons.  相似文献

Notions of strongly and absolutely closed objects with respect to a closure operator X on an arbitrary category X and with respect to a subcategory Y are introduced. This yields two Galois connections between closure operators on a given category X and subclasses of X, whose fixed points are studied. A relationship with some compactness notions is shown and examples are provided.  相似文献

In this note we consider the homogenization problem for a matrix locally periodic elliptic operator on R d of the form A ε = ?divA(x, x/ε)?. The function A is assumed to be Hölder continuous with exponent s ∈ [0, 1] in the “slow” variable and bounded in the “fast” variable. We construct approximations for (A ε ? μ)?1, including one with a corrector, and for (?Δ) s/2(A ε ? μ)?1 in the operator norm on L 2(R d ) n . For s ≠ 0, we also give estimates of the rates of approximation.  相似文献
