A mollification method for ill-posed problems   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Summary. A mollification method for a class of ill-posed problems is suggested. The idea of the method is very simple and natural: if the data are given inexactly then we try to find a sequence of ``mollification operators" which map the improper data into well-posedness classes of the problem (mollify the improper data). Within these mollified data our problem becomes well-posed. And when these facts are in hand we try to obtain error estimates and optimal or ``quasi-optimal" mollification parameters. The method is working not only for problems in Hilbert spaces, but also for problems in Banach spaces. Applications of the method to concrete problems, like numerical differentiation, parabolic equations backwards in time, the Cauchy problem for the Laplace equation, one- and multidimensional non-characteristic Cauchy problems for parabolic equations (in infinite or finite domains),... give us very sharp stability estimates of H\"older continuous type. In these cases the method is optimal in the sense that it gives the same order of H\"older continuous dependence on the data as for the regularized problems. Furthermore, the method may be implemented numerically using fast Fourier transforms. For the first time a uniform stability estimate of H\"older continuous type of the solution of the heat equation backwards in time in the space for all could be established by our mollification method. A new simple sharp pointwise estimate of H\"older type for the weak solution of a non-characteristic Cauchy problem for parabolic equations in a finite domain is established. 考虑由扰动数据重构原函数的导数问题.基于L-广义解正则化理论,提出了一个新的磨光方法的框架.给出一个具体的求解前3阶导数的算法,其中正则化策略选择了一种改进的TSVD(truncated singular value decomposition)方法(典则TSVD方法).数值结果进一步验证了理论结果及新方法的有效性.  相似文献

This study deals with the numerical investigation of a mathematical model of breast cancer at the initial growth stage known as ductal carcinoma in situ. This model considered as an inverse problem and the uniqueness of solution of this inverse problem is proved. To solve this problem, a computational approach is developed based on an iterative procedure and space marching and mollification methods. The stability and convergence results are given to support the method theoretically. Two test problems are considered to demonstrate the efficiency and ability of the proposed numerical approach.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to present some results relating the properties of stability, concentration and approximation to the identity of convolution through not necessarily mollification type families of heavy tailed Markov kernels. A particular case is provided by the kernels K t obtained as the t mollification of L σ(t) selected from the family \(\mathcal {L}=\{L^{\sigma }: \widehat {L^{\sigma }}{(\xi )=e^{-|{\xi }|}}^{\sigma }, 0<\sigma <2\}\), by a given function σ with values in the interval (0,2). We show that a basic Harnack type inequality, introduced by C. Calderón in the convolution case, becomes at once natural to the setting and useful to connect the concepts of stability, concentration and approximation of the identity. Some of the general results are extended to spaces of homogeneous type since most of the concepts involved in the theory are given in terms of metric and measure.  相似文献

We show that harmonic maps from 2-dimensional Euclidean polyhedra to arbitrary NPC spaces are totally geodesic or constant depending on a geometric and combinatorial condition of the links of the 0-dimensional skeleton. Our method is based on a monotonicity formula rather than a codimension estimate of the singular set as developed by Gromov–Schoen or the mollification technique of Korevaar–Schoen.   相似文献

We deal with a variational inequality describing the motion of incompressible fluids, whose viscous stress tensors belong to the subdifferential of a functional at the point given by the symmetric part of the velocity gradient, with a nonlocal friction condition on a part of the boundary obtained by a generalized mollification of the stresses. We establish an existence result of a solution to the nonlocal friction problem for this class of non-Newtonian flows. The result is based on the Faedo-Galerkin and Moreau Yosida methods, the duality theory of convex analysis and the Tychonov-Kakutani-Glicksberg fixed point theorem for multi-valued mappings in an appropriate functional space framework.  相似文献

This paper has focused on unknown functions identification in nonlinear boundary conditions of an inverse problem of a time‐fractional reaction–diffusion–convection equation. This inverse problem is generally ill‐posed in the sense of stability, that is, the solution of problem does not depend continuously on the input data. Thus, a combination of the mollification regularization method with Gauss kernel and a finite difference marching scheme will be introduced to solve this problem. The generalized cross‐validation choice rule is applied to find a suitable regularization parameter. The stability and convergence of the numerical method are investigated. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to test the effectiveness and validity of the proposed approach.  相似文献
