In this paper, we investigate the quantile varying coefficient model for longitudinal data, where the unknown nonparametric functions are approximated by polynomial splines and the estimators are obtained by minimizing the quadratic inference function. The theoretical properties of the resulting estimators are established, and they achieve the optimal convergence rate for the nonparametric functions. Since the objective function is non-smooth, an estimation procedure is proposed that uses induced smoothing and we prove that the smoothed estimator is asymptotically equivalent to the original estimator. Moreover, we propose a variable selection procedure based on the regularization method, which can simultaneously estimate and select important nonparametric components and has the asymptotic oracle property. Extensive simulations and a real data analysis show the usefulness of the proposed method.

This paper considers estimation and inference in semiparametric quantile regression models when the response variable is subject to random censoring. The paper considers both the cases of independent and dependent censoring and proposes three iterative estimators based on inverse probability weighting, where the weights are estimated from the censoring distribution using the Kaplan–Meier, a fully parametric and the conditional Kaplan–Meier estimators. The paper proposes a computationally simple resampling technique that can be used to approximate the finite sample distribution of the parametric estimator. The paper also considers inference for both the parametric and nonparametric components of the quantile regression model. Monte Carlo simulations show that the proposed estimators and test statistics have good finite sample properties. Finally, the paper contains a real data application, which illustrates the usefulness of the proposed methods.

This paper considers the weighted composite quantile (WCQ) regression for linear model with random censoring. The adaptive penalized procedure for variable selection in this model is proposed, and the consistency, asymptotic normality and oracle property of the resulting estimators are also derived. The simulation studies and the analysis of an acute myocardial infarction data set are conducted to illustrate the finite sample performance of the proposed method.  相似文献

The asymptotic properties of a family of minimum quantile distance estimators for randomly censored data sets are considered. These procedures produce an estimator of the parameter vector that minimizes a weighted L2 distance measure between the Kaplan-Meier quantile function and an assumed parametric family of quantile functions. Regularity conditions are provided which insure that these estimators are consistent and asymptotically normal. An optimal weight function is derived for single parameter families, which, for location/scale families, results in censored sample analogs of estimators such as those suggested by Parzen.  相似文献

Quantile regression is a powerful complement to the usual mean regression and becomes increasingly popular due to its desirable properties. In longitudinal studies, it is necessary to consider the intra-subject correlation among repeated measures over time to improve the estimation efficiency. In this paper, we focus on longitudinal single-index models. Firstly, we apply the modified Cholesky decomposition to parameterize the intra-subject covariance matrix and develop a regression approach to estimate the parameters of the covariance matrix. Secondly, we propose efficient quantile estimating equations for the index coefficients and the link function based on the estimated covariance matrix. Since the proposed estimating equations include a discrete indicator function, we propose smoothed estimating equations for fast and accurate computation of the index coefficients, as well as their asymptotic covariances. Thirdly, we establish the asymptotic properties of the proposed estimators. Finally, simulation studies and a real data analysis have illustrated the efficiency of the proposed approach.

In this paper, we apply the empirical likelihood technique to propose a new class of M-estimators and quantile estimators in the presence of some auxiliary information under strong mixing samples. It is shown that the proposed M-estimators and quantile estimators are consistent and asymptotically normally distributed with smaller asymptotic variances than those of the usual M-estimators and quantile estimators.  相似文献

The quantile estimation methods are proposed for functional-coefficient partially linear regression (FCPLR) model by combining nonparametric and functional-coefficient regression (FCR) model. The local linear scheme and the integrated method are used to obtain local quantile estimators of all unknown functions in the FCPLR model. These resulting estimators are asymptotically normal, but each of them has big variance. To reduce variances of these quantile estimators, the one-step backfitting technique is used to obtain the efficient quantile estimators of all unknown functions, and their asymptotic normalities are derived. Two simulated examples are carried out to illustrate the proposed estimation methodology.  相似文献

Composite quantile regression model with measurement error is considered. The SIMEX estimators of the unknown regression coefficients are proposed based on the composite quantile regression. The proposed estimators not only eliminate the bias caused by measurement error, but also retain the advantages of the composite quantile regression estimation. The asymptotic properties of the SIMEX estimation are proved under some regular conditions. The finite sample properties of the proposed method are studied by a simulation study, and a real example is analyzed.  相似文献

Importance sampling is a classical Monte Carlo technique in which a random sample from one probability density, π1, is used to estimate an expectation with respect to another, π. The importance sampling estimator is strongly consistent and, as long as two simple moment conditions are satisfied, it obeys a central limit theorem (CLT). Moreover, there is a simple consistent estimator for the asymptotic variance in the CLT, which makes for routine computation of standard errors. Importance sampling can also be used in the Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) context. Indeed, if the random sample from π1 is replaced by a Harris ergodic Markov chain with invariant density π1, then the resulting estimator remains strongly consistent. There is a price to be paid, however, as the computation of standard errors becomes more complicated. First, the two simple moment conditions that guarantee a CLT in the iid case are not enough in the MCMC context. Second, even when a CLT does hold, the asymptotic variance has a complex form and is difficult to estimate consistently. In this article, we explain how to use regenerative simulation to overcome these problems. Actually, we consider a more general setup, where we assume that Markov chain samples from several probability densities, π1, …, πk, are available. We construct multiple-chain importance sampling estimators for which we obtain a CLT based on regeneration. We show that if the Markov chains converge to their respective target distributions at a geometric rate, then under moment conditions similar to those required in the iid case, the MCMC-based importance sampling estimator obeys a CLT. Furthermore, because the CLT is based on a regenerative process, there is a simple consistent estimator of the asymptotic variance. We illustrate the method with two applications in Bayesian sensitivity analysis. The first concerns one-way random effect models under different priors. The second involves Bayesian variable selection in linear regression, and for this application, importance sampling based on multiple chains enables an empirical Bayes approach to variable selection.  相似文献

Missing covariate data arise frequently in biomedical studies. In this article, we propose a class of weighted estimating equations for the additive hazard regression model when some of the covariates are missing at random. Time-specific and subject-specific weights are incorporated into the formulation of weighted estimating equations. Unified results are established for estimating selection probabilities that cover both parametric and non-parametric modeling schemes. The resulting estimators have closed forms and are shown to be consistent and asymptotically normal. Simulation studies indicate that the proposed estimators perform well for practical settings. An application to a mouse leukemia study is illustrated.

A subthreshold signal is transmitted through a channel and may be detected when some noise--with known structure and proportional to some level--is added to the data. There is an optimal noise level, called stochastic resonance that corresponds to the highest Fisher information in the problem of estimation of the signal. As noise we consider an ergodic diffusion process and the asymptotic is considered as time goes to infinity. We propose consistent estimators of the subthreshold signal and we solve further a problem of hypotheses testing. We also discuss evidence of stochastic resonance for both estimation and hypotheses testing problems via examples.  相似文献

In this paper we shall be concerned with the asymptotic properties of the regression quantile estimation in the nonlinear regression time series models. For these, first we prove the strong consistency and derive the asymptotic normality of the regression quantile estimators for a particular sinusoidal regression model with a simple harmonic component. Next, we extend the results to more complicated sinusoidal models of several harmonic components.  相似文献

This paper revisits some asymptotic properties of the robust nonparametric estimators of order-m and order-α quantile frontiers and proposes isotonized version of these estimators. Previous convergence properties of the order-m frontier are extended (from weak uniform convergence to complete uniform convergence). Complete uniform convergence of the order-m (and of the quantile order-α) nonparametric estimators to the boundary is also established, for an appropriate choice of m (and of α, respectively) as a function of the sample size. The new isotonized estimators share the asymptotic properties of the original ones and a simulated example shows, as expected, that these new versions are even more robust than the original estimators. The procedure is also illustrated through a real data set.  相似文献

It is very common in AIDS studies that response variable (e.g., HIV viral load) may be subject to censoring due to detection limits while covariates (e.g., CD4 cell count) may be measured with error. Failure to take censoring in response variable and measurement errors in covariates into account may introduce substantial bias in estimation and thus lead to unreliable inference. Moreover, with non-normal and/or heteroskedastic data, traditional mean regression models are not robust to tail reactions. In this case, one may find it attractive to estimate extreme causal relationship of covariates to a dependent variable, which can be suitably studied in quantile regression framework. In this paper, we consider joint inference of mixed-effects quantile regression model with right-censored responses and errors in covariates. The inverse censoring probability weighted method and the orthogonal regression method are combined to reduce the biases of estimation caused by censored data and measurement errors. Under some regularity conditions, the consistence and asymptotic normality of estimators are derived. Finally, some simulation studies are implemented and a HIV/AIDS clinical data set is analyzed to to illustrate the proposed procedure.  相似文献

Composite quantile regression with randomly censored data is studied. Moreover, adaptive LASSO methods for composite quantile regression with randomly censored data are proposed. The consistency, asymptotic normality and oracle property of the proposed estimators are established. The proposals are illustrated via simulation studies and the Australian AIDS dataset.  相似文献
