In this paper we analyze the non symmetric pressure/displacement formulation of the elastoacoustic vibration problem and show its equivalence with the (symmetric) stiffness coupling formulation. We introduce discretizations for these problems based on Lagrangian finite elements. We show that both formulations are also equivalent at discrete level and prove optimal error estimates for eigenfunctions and eigenvalues. Both formulations are rewritten such as to be solved with a standard Matlab eigensolver. We report numerical results comparing the efficiency of the methods over some test examples. We associate to each cost spanning tree problem a non-cooperative game, which is inspired by a real-life problem. We study the Nash equilibria and subgame perfect Nash equilibria of this game. Classical orthogonal polynomials in two variables are defined as the orthogonal polynomials associated to a two-variable moment functional satisfying a matrix analogue of the Pearson differential equation. The Nevalinna–Pick algorithm yields a continued fraction expansion of every Schur function, whose approximants are identified. These approximants are quotients of rational functions which can be understood as the rational analogs of the Wall polynomials. The properties of these Wall rational functions and the corresponding approximants permit us to obtain a Khrushchev’s formula for orthogonal rational functions. An introduction to the convergence of the Wall approximants in the indeterminate case is presented. In this paper we consider finitely repeated games in which players can unilaterally commit to behave in an absentminded way in some stages of the repeated game. We prove that the standard conditions for folk theorems can be substantially relaxed when players are able to make this kind of compromises, both in the Nash and in the subgame perfect case. We also analyze the relation of our model with the repeated games with unilateral commitments studied, for instance, in García-Jurado et al. (Int. Game Theory Rev. 2:129–139, 2000). In this paper, approximate solutions of vector optimization problems are analyzed via a metrically consistent ε-efficient concept. Several properties of the ε-efficient set are studied. By scalarization, necessary and sufficient conditions for approximate solutions of convex and nonconvex vector optimization problems are provided; a characterization is obtained via generalized Chebyshev norms, attaining the same precision in the vector problem as in the scalarization. This paper deals with bankruptcy situations in which in addition to the claims, an exogenously given reference point for the allocation of the estate is present. We introduce and analyse two types of compromise solutions and show that they coincide with the τ value of two corresponding TU games. We apply our solutions to a real-life case of allocating university money to degree courses. We prove some fixed point theorems in partially ordered sets, providing an extension of the Banach contractive mapping theorem. Having studied previously the nondecreasing case, we consider in this paper nonincreasing mappings as well as non monotone mappings. We also present some applications to first–order ordinary differential equations with periodic boundary conditions, proving the existence of a unique solution admitting the existence of a lower solution. We characterize the infinitesimal generator of a semigroup of linear fractional self-maps of the unit ball in ℂn, n ≥ 1. For the case n = 1, we also completely describe the associated Koenigs function and solve the embedding problem from a dynamical point of view, proving (among other things) that a generic semigroup of holomorphic self-maps of the unit disc is a semigroup of linear fractional maps if and only if it contains a linear fractional map for some positive time. In this paper we prove an integral inequality for the Gaussian curvature of compact maximal surfaces inn-dimensional de Sitter space. We study entire solutions of a discrete diffusive equation with bistable nonlinearity. It is well known that there are three different wavefronts connecting any two of those three equilibria, say, 0,a,1. We construct three different types of entire solutions. The first one is a solution which behaves as two opposite wavefronts (connecting 0 and 1) of the same positive speed approaching each other from both sides of the real line. The second one is a solution which behaves as two different wavefronts (connecting a and one of {0,1}) approaching each other from both sides of the real line and converging to the wavefront connecting 0 and 1. The third one is a solution which behaves as a wavefront connecting a and 0 and a wavefront connecting 0 and 1 approaching each other from both sides of the real line.  相似文献

The Cramér–Wold theorem states that a Borel probability measure P on ℝ d is uniquely determined by its one-dimensional projections. We prove a sharp form of this result, addressing the problem of how large a subset of these projections is really needed to determine P. In this paper, the asymptotic behavior as ε→O of the minimizers u,of the Ginzburg Lan-dau functional with variable coefficient is discussed. The singularities are found to be located at thepoints which globally minimize the coefficient. The zeros of u, are accumulated near the singulari-ties as is small enough. In this note we deal with inventory games as defined in Meca et al. (Math. Methods Oper. Res. 57:483–491, 2003). The aim of this paper is to characterize those elements in a semiprime ring R for which taking local rings at elements and rings of quotients are commuting operations. If Q denotes the maximal ring of left quotients of R, then this happens precisely for those elements if R which are von Neumann regular in Q. An intrinsic characterization of such elements is given. We derive as a consequence that the maximal left quotient ring of a prime ring with a nonzero PI-element is primitive and has nonzero socle. If we change Q to the Martindale symmetric ring of quotients, or to the maximal symmetric ring of quotients of R, we obtain similar results: an element a in R is von Neumann regular if and only if the ring of quotients of the local ring of R at a is isomorphic to the local ring of Q at a. In this paper we propose a new method to associate a coalitional game with each strategic game. The method is based on the lower value of finite two-player zero-sum games. We axiomatically characterize this new method, as well as the method that was described in Von Neumann and Morgenstern (1944). Preparation of a metallic diffuse-fringe film system and its electrical properties are reported. The anomalousR-I characteristics, third-harmonic coefficient and critical behavior are observed in the film system. Analysis shows that this behavior is caused by the location-dependent tunneling and hopping effects, which result from. the continuous variation of the diffuse fringe structure of the film due to the increase of the current.
