Let (T t ) t?≥ 0 be a bounded analytic semigroup on L p (Ω), with 1?<?p?<?∞. Let ?A denote its infinitesimal generator. It is known that if A and A * both satisfy square function estimates ${\bigl\|\bigl(\int_{0}^{\infty} \vert A^{\frac{1}{2}} T_t(x)\vert^2 {\rm d}t \bigr)^{\frac{1}{2}}\bigr\|_{L^p} \lesssim \|x\|_{L^p}}$ and ${\bigl\|\bigl(\int_{0}^{\infty} \vert A^{*\frac{1}{2}} T_t^*(y) \vert^2 {\rm d}t \bigr)^{\frac{1}{2}}\bigr\|_{L^{p^\prime}} \lesssim \|y\|_{L^{p^\prime}}}$ for ${x\in L^p(\Omega)}$ and ${y\in L^{p^\prime}(\Omega)}$ , then A admits a bounded ${H^{\infty}(\Sigma_\theta)}$ functional calculus for any ${\theta>\frac{\pi}{2}}$ . We show that this actually holds true for some ${\theta<\frac{\pi}{2}}$ .  相似文献

Denote by ${\mathcal{C}\ell_{p,q}}$ the Clifford algebra on the real vector space ${\mathbb{R}^{p,q}}$ . This paper gives a unified tensor product expression of ${\mathcal{C}\ell_{p,q}}$ by using the center of ${\mathcal{C}\ell_{p,q}}$ . The main result states that for nonnegative integers p, q, ${\mathcal{C}\ell_{p,q} \simeq \otimes^{\kappa-\delta}\mathcal{C}_{1,1} \otimes Cen(\mathcal{C}\ell_{p,q}) \otimes^{\delta} \mathcal{C}\ell_{0,2},}$ where ${p + q \equiv \varepsilon}$ mod 2, ${\kappa = ((p + q) - \varepsilon)/2, p - |q - \varepsilon| \equiv i}$ mod 8 and ${\delta = \lfloor i / 4 \rfloor}$ .  相似文献

It is conjectured that the set ${\mathcal {G}}$ of the primitive roots modulo p has no decomposition (modulo p) of the form ${\mathcal {G}= \mathcal {A} +\mathcal {B}}$ with ${|\mathcal {A}|\ge 2}$ , ${|\mathcal {B} |\ge 2}$ . This conjecture seems to be beyond reach but it is shown that if such a decomposition of ${\mathcal {G}}$ exists at all, then ${|\mathcal {A} |}$ , ${|\mathcal {B} |}$ must be around p 1/2, and then this result is applied to show that ${\mathcal {G}}$ has no decomposition of the form ${\mathcal {G} =\mathcal {A} + \mathcal {B} + \mathcal {C}}$ with ${|\mathcal {A} |\ge 2}$ , ${|\mathcal {B} |\ge 2}$ , ${|\mathcal {C} |\ge 2}$ .  相似文献

In this paper we prove the existence of a nontrivial non-negative radial solution for the quasilinear elliptic problem $$\begin{aligned} \left\{ \begin{array}{l@{\quad }l} -\nabla \cdot \left[\phi ^{\prime }(|\nabla u|^2)\nabla u \right] +|u|^{\alpha -2}u =|u|^{s-2} u,&x\in \mathbb{R }^{N},\\ u(x) \rightarrow 0, \quad \text{ as} |x|\rightarrow \infty , \end{array} \right. \end{aligned}$$ where $N\ge 2, \phi (t)$ behaves like $t^{q/2}$ for small $t$ and $t^{p/2}$ for large $t, 1< p<q<N, 1<\alpha \le p^* q^{\prime }/p^{\prime }$ and $\max \{q,\alpha \}< s<p^*,$ being $p^*=\frac{pN}{N-p}$ and $p^{\prime }$ and $q^{\prime }$ the conjugate exponents, respectively, of $p$ and $q$ . Our aim is to approach the problem variationally by using the tools of critical points theory in an Orlicz-Sobolev space. A multiplicity result is also given.  相似文献

We study the L p -distortion of finite quotients of amenable groups. In particular, for every ${2\leq p < \infty}$ , we prove that the ? p -distortions of the groups ${C_2\wr C_n}$ and ${C_{2^n}\rtimes C_n}$ are in ${\Theta((\log n)^{1/p}),}$ and that the ? p -distortion of ${C_n^2 \rtimes_A \mathbf{Z}}$ , where A is the matrix ${{\left({\small\begin{array}{cc}2 & 1 \\ 1 & 1 \end{array}} \right)}}$ is in ${\Theta((\log \log n)^{1/p}).}$   相似文献

Let D be an open disk of radius ≤1 in $\mathbb{C}$ , and let (? n ) be a sequence of ±1. We prove that for every analytic function $f: D \to \mathbb{C}$ without zeros in D, there exists a unique sequence (α n ) of complex numbers such that $f(z) = f(0)\prod_{n=1}^{\infty} (1+\epsilon_{n}z^{n})^{\alpha_{n}}$ for every zD. From this representation we obtain a numerical method for calculating products of the form ∏ p prime f(1/p) provided f(0)=1 and f′(0)=0; our method generalizes a well-known method of Pieter Moree. We illustrate this method on a constant of Ramanujan $\pi^{-1/2}\prod _{p~\text{prime}} \sqrt{p^{2}-p}\ln(p/(p-1))$ . From the properties of the exponents α n , we obtain a proof of the following congruences, which have been the subject of several recent publications motivated by some questions of Arnold: for every n×n integral matrix A, every prime number p, and every positive integer k we have $\operatorname{tr} A^{p^{k}} \equiv\operatorname{tr} A^{p^{k-1}} { \hbox {\rm { (mod\ $p^{k}$) }}}$ .  相似文献

We show that first order integer arithmetic is uniformly positive-existentially interpretable in large classes of (subrings of) function fields of positive characteristic over some languages that contain the language of rings. One of the main intermediate results is a positive existential definition (in these classes), uniform among all characteristics p, of the binary relation “ $y=x^{p^{s}}$ or $x=y^{p^{s}}$ for some integer s≥0”. A natural consequence of our work is that there is no algorithm to decide whether or not a system of polynomial equations over $\mathbb {Z}[z]$ has solutions in all but finitely many polynomial rings $\mathbb {F}_{p}[z]$ . Analogous consequences are deduced for the rational function fields $\mathbb {F}_{p}(z)$ , over languages with a predicate for the valuation ring at zero.  相似文献

It is well known that the classical Sobolev embeddings may be improved within the framework of Lorentz spaces L p,q : the space $\mathcal{D}^{1,p}(\mathbb R^n)$ , 1?<?p?<?n, embeds into $L^{p^*,q}(\mathbb R^n)$ , p?≤?q?≤?∞. However, the value of the best possible embedding constants in the corresponding inequalities is known just in the case $L^{p^*,p}(\mathbb R^n)$ . Here, we determine optimal constants for the embedding of the space $\mathcal{D}^{1,p}(\mathbb R^n)$ , 1?<?p?<?n, into the whole Lorentz space scale $L^{p^{\ast}, q}(\mathbb R^n)$ , p?≤?q?≤?∞, including the limiting case q?=?p of which we give a new proof. We also exhibit extremal functions for these embedding inequalities by solving related elliptic problems.  相似文献

A group distance magic labeling or a ${\mathcal{G}}$ -distance magic labeling of a graph G =  (V, E) with ${|V | = n}$ is a bijection f from V to an Abelian group ${\mathcal{G}}$ of order n such that the weight ${w(x) = \sum_{y\in N_G(x)}f(y)}$ of every vertex ${x \in V}$ is equal to the same element ${\mu \in \mathcal{G}}$ , called the magic constant. In this paper we will show that if G is a graph of order n =  2 p (2k + 1) for some natural numbers p, k such that ${\deg(v)\equiv c \mod {2^{p+1}}}$ for some constant c for any ${v \in V(G)}$ , then there exists a ${\mathcal{G}}$ -distance magic labeling for any Abelian group ${\mathcal{G}}$ of order 4n for the composition G[C 4]. Moreover we prove that if ${\mathcal{G}}$ is an arbitrary Abelian group of order 4n such that ${\mathcal{G} \cong \mathbb{Z}_2 \times\mathbb{Z}_2 \times \mathcal{A}}$ for some Abelian group ${\mathcal{A}}$ of order n, then there exists a ${\mathcal{G}}$ -distance magic labeling for any graph G[C 4], where G is a graph of order n and n is an arbitrary natural number.  相似文献

Let M be aσ-finite von Neumann algebra and let AM be a maximal subdiagonal algebra with respect to a faithful normal conditional expectationΦ.Based on the Haagerup’s noncommutative Lpspace Lp(M)associated with M,we consider Toeplitz operators and the Hilbert transform associated with A.We prove that the commutant of left analytic Toeplitz algebra on noncommutative Hardy space H2(M)is just the right analytic Toeplitz algebra.Furthermore, the Hilbert transform on noncommutative Lp(M)is shown to be bounded for 1p∞.As an application,we consider a noncommutative analog of the space BMO and identify the dual space of noncommutative H1(M)as a concrete space of operators.  相似文献

We consider the spaces A p ( $\mathbb{T}^m $ ) of functions f on the m-dimensional torus $\mathbb{T}^m $ such that the sequence of Fourier coefficients $\hat f = \{ \hat f(k),k \in \mathbb{Z}^m \} $ belongs to l p (? m ), 1 ≤ p < 2. The norm on A p ( $\mathbb{T}^m $ ) is defined by $\left\| f \right\|_{A_p (\mathbb{T}^m )} = \left\| {\hat f} \right\|_{l^p (\mathbb{Z}^m )} $ . We study the rate of growth of the norms $\left\| {e^{i\lambda \phi } } \right\|_{A_p (\mathbb{T}^m )} $ as |λ| → ∞, λ ∈ ?, for C 1-smooth real functions φ on $\mathbb{T}^m $ (the one-dimensional case was investigated by the author earlier). The lower estimates that we obtain have direct analogs for the spaces A p (? m ).  相似文献

For a holomorphic proper map F from the ball $\mathbb{B}^{n+1}$ into $\mathbb{B}^{N+1}$ that is C 3 smooth up to the boundary, the image $M=F(\partial\mathbb{B}^{n})$ is an immersed CR submanifold in the sphere $\partial \mathbb{B}^{N+1}$ on which some second fundamental forms II M and $\mathit{II}^{CR}_{M}$ can be defined. It is shown that when 4??n+1<N+1??4n?3, F is linear fractional if and only if $\mathit{II}_{M} - \mathit{II}_{M}^{CR} \equiv 0$ .  相似文献

Let K be a number field, let ${\varphi \in K(t)}$ be a rational map of degree at least 2, and let ${\alpha, \beta \in K}$ . We show that if α is not in the forward orbit of β, then there is a positive proportion of primes ${\mathfrak{p}}$ of K such that ${\alpha {\rm mod} \mathfrak{p}}$ is not in the forward orbit of ${\beta {\rm mod} \mathfrak{p}}$ . Moreover, we show that a similar result holds for several maps and several points. We also present heuristic and numerical evidence that a higher dimensional analog of this result is unlikely to be true if we replace α by a hypersurface, such as the ramification locus of a morphism ${\varphi: \mathbb{P}^{n} \to \mathbb{P}^{n}}$ .  相似文献

By a $\mathfrak{B}$ -regular variety, we mean a smooth projective variety over $\mathbb{C}$ admitting an algebraic action of the upper triangular Borel subgroup $\mathfrak{B} \subset {\text{SL}}_{2} {\left( \mathbb{C} \right)}$ such that the unipotent radical in $\mathfrak{B}$ has a unique fixed point. A result of Brion and the first author [4] describes the equivariant cohomology algebra (over $\mathbb{C}$ ) of a $\mathfrak{B}$ -regular variety X as the coordinate ring of a remarkable affine curve in $X \times \mathbb{P}^{1}$ . The main result of this paper uses this fact to classify the $\mathfrak{B}$ -invariant subvarieties Y of a $\mathfrak{B}$ -regular variety X for which the restriction map i Y : H *(X) → H *(Y) is surjective.  相似文献

We provide a matrix invariant for isometry classes of p-tuples of points in the Grassmann manifold ${G_{n}\left(\mathbb{K}^{d}\right) }$ ( ${\mathbb{K=\mathbb{R}}}$ or ${\mathbb{C}}$ ). This invariant fully characterizes the p-tuple. We use it to classify the regular p-tuples of ${G_{2}\left(\mathbb{R}^{d}\right) }$ , ${G_{3}\left( \mathbb{R}^{d}\right) }$ and ${G_{2}\left( \mathbb{C}^{d}\right) }$ .  相似文献

It is known that the structure of invariant subspaces I of the Hardy space H 2 over the bidisk is extremely complicated. One reason is that it is difficult to describe infinite dimensional wandering spaces ${I\ominus zI}$ completely. In this paper, we study the structure of nontrivial closed subspaces N of H 2 with ${T_zN\subset N}$ and ${T^*_wN\subset N}$ , which are called mixed invariant subspaces under T z and ${T^*_w}$ . We know that the dimension of ${N\ominus zN}$ ranges from 1 to ??. If ${T^*_w(N\ominus zN)\subset N\ominus zN}$ , we may describe N completely. If ${T^*_w(N\ominus zN)\not\subset N\ominus zN}$ , it seems difficult to describe N generally. So we study N under the condition ${dim\,(N\ominus zN)=1}$ . Write ${M=H^2\ominus N}$ . We describe ${M\ominus wM}$ precisely. We give a characterization of N for which there is a nonzero function ${\varphi}$ in ${M\ominus wM}$ satisfying ${z^k\varphi\in M\ominus wM}$ for every k ?? 0. We also see that the space ${M\ominus wM}$ has a deep connection with the de Branges?CRovnyak spaces studied by Sarason.  相似文献

We study the structure of a metric n-Lie algebra G over the complex field C. Let G = SR be the Levi decomposition, where R is the radical of G and S is a strong semisimple subalgebra of G. Denote by m(G) the number of all minimal ideals of an indecomposable metric n-Lie algebra and R ⊥ the orthogonal complement of R. We obtain the following results. As S-modules, R ⊥ is isomorphic to the dual module of G/R. The dimension of the vector space spanned by all nondegenerate invariant symmetric bilinear forms on G is equal to that of the vector space of certain linear transformations on G; this dimension is greater than or equal to m(G) + 1. The centralizer of R in G is equal to the sum of all minimal ideals; it is the direct sum of R ⊥ and the center of G. Finally, G has no strong semisimple ideals if and only if R⊥■R.  相似文献

Let ${\mathcal{B}_{p,w}}$ be the Banach algebra of all bounded linear operators acting on the weighted Lebesgue space ${L^p(\mathbb{R},w)}$ , where ${p\in(1,\infty)}$ and w is a Muckenhoupt weight. We study the Banach subalgebra ${\mathfrak{U}_{p,w}}$ of ${\mathcal{B}_{p,w}}$ generated by all multiplication operators aI ( ${a\in PSO^\diamond}$ ) and all convolution operators W 0(b) ( ${b\in PSO_{p,w}^\diamond}$ ), where ${PSO^\diamond\subset L^\infty(\mathbb{R})}$ and ${PSO_{p,w}^\diamond\subset M_{p,w}}$ are algebras of piecewise slowly oscillating functions that admit piecewise slowly oscillating discontinuities at arbitrary points of ${\mathbb{R}\cup\{\infty\}}$ , and M p,w is the Banach algebra of Fourier multipliers on ${L^p(\mathbb{R},w)}$ . Under some conditions on the Muckenhoupt weight w, using results of the local study of ${\mathfrak{U}_{p,w}}$ obtained in the first part of the paper and applying the theory of Mellin pseudodifferential operators and the two idempotents theorem, we now construct a Fredholm symbol calculus for the Banach algebra ${\mathfrak{U}_{p,w}}$ and establish a Fredholm criterion for the operators ${A\in\mathfrak{U}_{p,w}}$ in terms of their Fredholm symbols. In four partial cases we obtain for ${\mathfrak{U}_{p,w}}$ more effective results.  相似文献
