We develop a modern extended scattering theory for CMV matrices with asymptotically constant Verblunsky coefficients. We show that the traditional (Faddeev-Marchenko) condition is too restrictive to define the class of CMV matrices for which there exists a unique scattering representation. The main results are: (1) the class of twosided CMV matrices acting in l2, whose spectral density satisfies the Szegö condition and whose point spectrum the Blaschke condition, corresponds precisely to the class where the scattering problem can be posed and solved. That is, to a given CMV matrix of this class, one can associate the scattering data and the FM space. The CMV matrix corresponds to the multiplication operator in this space, and the orthonormal basis in it (corresponding to the standard basis in l2) behaves asymptotically as the basis associated with the free system. (2) From the point of view of the scattering problem, the most natural class of CMV matrices is that one in which (a) the scattering data determine the matrix uniquely and (b) the associated Gelfand-Levitan-Marchenko transformation operators are bounded. Necessary and sufficient conditions for this class can be given in terms of an A2 kind condition for the density of the absolutely continuous spectrum and a Carleson kind condition for the discrete spectrum. Similar conditions close to the optimal ones are given directly in terms of the scattering data.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a new kind of spectrum for the C⋅0-class contractions. Since elements in this spectrum are functions, rather than numbers, we shall call it functional spectrum. Functional spectrum is a “large” closed subset of the Hardy space over the unit disk, and in many cases there is a canonical embedding of classical spectrum into functional spectrum. The study is carried out in the setting of the Hardy space over the bidisk H2(D2), on which every C⋅0-class contraction has a representation. A key tool is reduction operator. The reduction operator also gives rise to an equivalent statement of the Invariant Subspace Problem.  相似文献

In the present paper, we consider the classical Widder transform, the Hν-transform, the Kν-transform, and the Yν-transform. Some identities involving these transforms and many others are given. A class of constrained nonsmooth convex optimization problems, that is, piecewise C2 convex objectives with smooth convex inequality constraints are transformed into unconstrained nonsmooth convex programs with the help of exact penalty function. The objective functions of these unconstrained programs are particular cases of functions with primal-dual gradient structure which has connection with VU space decomposition. Then a VU space decomposition method for solving this unconstrained program is presented. This method is proved to converge with local superlinear rate under certain assumptions. The main objective of this paper is to prove the essential self-adjointness of Dirichlet operators in L2(μ) where μ is a Gibbs measure on an infinite volume path space C(R,Rd). This operator can be regarded as a perturbation of the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operator by a nonlinearity and corresponds to a parabolic stochastic partial differential equation (= SPDE, in abbreviation) on R. In view of quantum field theory, the solution of this SPDE is called a P1(?)-time evolution.  相似文献

Inspired by the classic γ-spline, we propose a method for constructing a G2 rational γ-spline curve that interpolates a given set of distinct ordered data-points (planar or spatial). The only input of our method is just these data-points. We also present a procedure to solve the key problem of determining the tension parameters γi which are computed in terms of exponential functions that determine the eccentricities of the common conic osculants at the junction points while keeping in geometrical agreement with data-points. This allows the resulting curve to be modified in the close vicinity of each data-point.  相似文献

We prove that if H is a Hilbert space then the Schatten (trace) class operators on H has the weak fixed point property for left reversible semigroups. This answered positively a problem raised by A.T.-M. Lau. We also prove that if M is a finite von Neumann algebra then any nonempty bounded convex subset of the non-commutative L1-space associated to M that is compact for the measure topology has the fixed point property for left reversible semigroups.  相似文献

Let X be a Banach space and let fL(R+;X) whose Laplace transform extends analytically to some region containing iR?{0}, possibly having a pole at the origin. In this paper, we give estimates of the decay of certain slight suitable modification of f in terms of the growth of its Laplace transform along the imaginary axis. This technique is applied to obtain decay estimates of smooth orbits of bounded C0-semigroups whose infinitesimal generators have an arbitrary finite boundary spectrum. These results are close to those given recently by C.J.K. Batty and T. Duyckaerts.  相似文献

In this paper we present two different methods for filling in a hole in an explicit 3D surface, defined by a smooth function f in a part of a polygonal domain DR2. We obtain the final reconstructed surface over the whole domain D. We do the filling in two different ways: discontinuous and continuous. In the discontinuous case, we fill the hole with a function in a Powell-Sabin spline space that minimizes a linear combination of the usual seminorms in an adequate Sobolev space, and approximates (in the least squares sense) the values of f and those of its normal derivatives at an adequate set of points. In the continuous case, we will first replace f outside the hole by a smoothing bivariate spline sf, and then we fill the hole also with a Powell-Sabin spline minimizing a linear combination of given seminorms. In both cases, we obtain existence and uniqueness of solutions and we present some graphical examples, and, in the continuous case, we also give a local convergence result.  相似文献

The notion of H-covariant strong Morita equivalence is introduced for *-algebras over C=R(i) with an ordered ring R which are equipped with a *-action of a Hopf *-algebra H. This defines a corresponding H-covariant strong Picard groupoid which encodes the entire Morita theory. Dropping the positivity conditions one obtains H-covariant *-Morita equivalence with its H-covariant *-Picard groupoid. We discuss various groupoid morphisms between the corresponding notions of the Picard groupoids. Moreover, we realize several Morita invariants in this context as arising from actions of the H-covariant strong Picard groupoid. Crossed products and their Morita theory are investigated using a groupoid morphism from the H-covariant strong Picard groupoid into the strong Picard groupoid of the crossed products.  相似文献

We look at a special case of a familiar problem: Given a locally compact group G, a subgroup H and a complex representation π+ of G how does π+ decompose on restriction to H. A problem that arose in the study of the mass of the neutrino led us to the evaluation of a constant term with a variety of ramifications into several areas from Invariant Theory, Representation Theory, the Theory of Symmetric Functions and Combinatorics. By a ball-covering B of a Banach space X, we mean that B is a collection of open (or closed) balls off the origin whose union contains the unit sphere SX of X; and X is said to have the ball-covering property (BCP) provided it admits a ball-covering by countably many balls. In this note we give a natural example showing that the ball-covering property of a Banach space is not inherited by its subspaces; and we present a sharp quantitative version of the recent Fonf and Zanco renorming result saying that if the dual X of X is w separable, then for every ε>0 there exist a (1+ε)-equivalent norm on X, and an R>0 such that in this new norm SX admits a ball-covering by countably many balls of radius R. Namely, we show that R=R(ε) can be taken arbitrarily close to (1+ε)/ε, and that for X=?1[0,1] the corresponding R cannot be equal to 1/ε. We prove that for every graph H with the minimum degree δ?5, the third iterated line graph L3(H) of H contains as a minor. Using this fact we prove that if G is a connected graph distinct from a path, then there is a number kG such that for every i?kG the i-iterated line graph of G is -linked.
