研究了带负顾客和非空竭服务随机休假的M~([X])/G/1可修排队系统.负顾客不仅仅移除一个正在接受服务的正顾客,而且还使得服务器损坏而立即进行修理.通过构造一个具有吸收态的马尔可夫链求得了系统稳态存在的充分必要条件.利用补充变量法求得了系统的排队指标和可靠性指标.最后我们还给出了一个数值实例.  相似文献

Circulation systems within buildings are analyzed using M/G/C/C queueing models. Congestion aspects of the traffic flow are represented by introducing state dependent service rates as a function of the number of occupants in each region of the circulation system. Analytical models for unidirectional and multi-source/single sink flows are presented. Finally, use of the queueing models to analytically determine the optimal size and capacity of the links of the circulation systems is incorporated into a series of software programs available from the authors.This material is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under grant #MSM-8417942 and #MSM-8715152.  相似文献

The present investigation deals with a multicomponent repairable system with state dependent rates. For smooth functioning of the system, mixed standbys (warm and cold) are provided so that the failed units are immediately replaced by standbys if available. To prevent congestion in the system due to failure of units, permanent along with additional repairmen are provided to restore the failed units. It is assumed that the units may fail in two modes. The units have exponential life time and repair time distributions. The failed unit may balk in case of heavy load of failed units. The failed units may also wait in the queue and renege on finding the repairmen busy according to a pre-specified rule. The Chapman–Kolmogorov equations, governing the model in the form of matrix are constructed using transition flow rates of different states. The steady state solution of queue size distribution is derived using product formula. A cost function is suggested to determine the optimal number of warm and cold standbys units required for the desired level of quality of service. The numerical illustrations are carried out to explore the effect of different parameters on performance measures.  相似文献

We consider an M/G/1 queueing system in which the arrival rate and service time density are functions of a two-state stochastic process. We describe the system by the total unfinished work present and allow the arrival and service rate processes to depend on the current value of the unfinished work. We consider an M/G/1 queue where the arrival and service processes are modulated by a two state Markov chain. We assume that the arrival rate, service time density and the rates at which the Markov chain switches its state, are functions of the total unfinished work (buffer content) in the queue. The following load balancing problem is investigated in discrete time: A service system consists of two service stations and two controllers, one in front of each station. The service stations provide the same service with identical service time distributions and identical waiting costs. Customers requiring service arrive at a controller's site and are routed to one of the two stations by the controller. The processes describing the two arrival streams are identical. Each controller has perfect knowledge of the workload in its own station and receives information about the other station's workload with one unit of delay. The controllers' routing strategies that minimize the customers' total flowtime are determined for a certain range of the parameters that describe the arrival process and the service distribution. Specifically, we prove that optimal routing strategies are characterized by thresholds that are either precisely specified or take one of two possible values.  相似文献

Waiting has been a significant concern for healthcare services. We address this issue in the context of a two‐tier service system in this study. A two‐tier healthcare service system consists of two different service providers, typically one public service provider and one private service provider. In a baseline model, the two service providers are modeled by two queue servers, which charge each patient a common fixed fee for the service. Then, we study a queue model in which one service provider offers a subsidy or charges a premium while the other maintains the fixed service fee. This system provides a mechanism to segment patients along their waiting time cost through price discrimination. We analyze the problem from both the perspective of minimizing total waiting cost for all patients and the perspective of maximizing social gain for the public service provider or profit for the private service provider. We show that this model can significantly alleviate the burden of waiting for patients. The study addresses the design, the efficiency, and the implementation of two‐tier healthcare service systems.
