Hermann and Thurston proved that the group of diffeomorphisms with compact support of a smooth manifold M which are isotopic to the identity is a perfect group. We consider the case where M has a geometric structure. In this paper we shall survey on the recent results of the first homology of the diffeomorphism groups which preserve a smooth G-action or a foliated structure on M. We introduce universally convex, starlike and prestarlike functions in the slit domain ℂ [1, ∞), and show that there exists a very close link to completely monotone sequences and Pick functions. S. In this paper, we consider the relationship between the congruence of cuspidal Hecke eigenforms with respect to Sp n (Z) and the special values of their standard zeta functions. In particular, we propose a conjecture concerning the congruence between Saito-Kurokawa lifts and non-Saito-Kurokawa lifts, and prove it under certain condition. In this paper, we present a new way of constructing a map from the higher Bloch group to the higher rational K-theory for an algebraic number field. The composition of it with the regulator map is expressed in terms of the polylogarithm function. We define the relative mean curvature directions on surfaces immersed in ℝn, n ≥ 4, generalizing the concept of mean curvature directions for surfaces in 4-space studied by Mello. We prove that the eigenvalues of the Laplacian acting on functions converge to those of the limit manifold for a special collapsing family of closed Riemannian manifolds without curvature bounds. We give a Fekete-Szeg? type inequality for an analytic function on the unit disk with Bloch seminorm ≤1. As an application of it, we derive a sharp inequality for the third coefficient of a uniformly locally univalent function f(z) = z + a 2 z 2 + a 3 z 3 + ⋯ on the unit disk with pre-Schwarzian norm ≤λ for a given λ > 0. In this paper, we investigate an eigenvalue problem for the Dirichlet Laplacian on a domain in an n-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold. First we give a general inequality for eigenvalues. As one of its applications, we study eigenvalues of the Laplacian on a domain in an n-dimensional complex projective space, on a compact complex submanifold in complex projective space and on the unit sphere. By making use of the orthogonalization of Gram–Schmidt (QR-factorization theorem), we construct trial functions. By means of these trial functions, estimates for lower order eigenvalues are obtained. The n-dimensional complex hyperquadric is a compact complex algebraic hypersurface defined by the quadratic equation in the (n+1)-dimensional complex projective space, which is isometric to the real Grassmann manifold of oriented 2-planes and is a compact Hermitian symmetric space of rank 2. In this paper, we study geometry of compact Lagrangian submanifolds in complex hyperquadrics from the viewpoint of the theory of isoparametric hypersurfaces in spheres. From this viewpoint we provide a classification theorem of compact homogeneous Lagrangian submanifolds in complex hyperquadrics by using the moment map technique. Moreover we determine the Hamiltonian stability of compact minimal Lagrangian submanifolds embedded in complex hyperquadrics which are obtained as Gauss images of isoparametric hypersurfaces in spheres with g(=  1, 2, 3) distinct principal curvatures. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for non-special line bundles of degree2g — 2 and 2g — 3 being not normally generated.
