By using critical point theory and periodic approximations, new sufficient conditions are obtained on the existence and nonexistence of homoclinic solutions for a class of discrete nonlinear periodic equations with asymptotically linear nonlinearities. These results partially answer an open problem proposed by Pankov (2006) [2] under rather weaker conditions and greatly improve the related results before.

Nonlinear boundary value problems for second order differential inclusions

In this paper, we study a class of nonlinear value boundary problems for second order differential inclusions with nonlinear perturbations, which satisfy the generalized Hartman condition weaker than that considered in some papers. Using techniques from multivalued analysis, theory of monotone operators and fixed points, we prove the existence of solutions in both “convex” and “nonconvex” cases. Our framework can be incorporated with Dirichlet, Neumann, and mixed boundary problems.     

Existence theorems of solution to variational inequality problems

This paper introduces a new concept of exceptional family for variational inequality problems with a general convex constrained set. By using this new concept, the authors establish a general sufficient condition for the existence of a solution to the problem. This condition is weaker than many known solution conditions and it is also necessary for pseudomonotone variational inequalities. Suffi-cient solution conditions for a class of nonlinear complementarity problems with Po mappings are also obtained.

The paper aims to obtain existence and uniqueness of the solution as well as asymptotic estimate of the solution for singularly perturbed nonlinear third- order Robin boundary value problem with a turning point.In order to achieve this aim,existence and uniqueness of the solution for third-order nonlinear Robin boundary value problem is derived first based on the upper and lower solutions method under relatively weaker conditions.In this manner,the goal of this paper is gained by applying the existence and uniqueness results mentioned above.     

The improved LaSalle-type theorems for stochastic functional differential equations

The main aim of this paper is to improve some results obtained by Mao [X. Mao, The LaSalle-type theorems for stochastic functional differential equations, Nonlinear Stud. 7 (2000) 307-328]. Our new theorems give better results while conditions imposed are much weaker than in the paper mentioned above. For example, we need only the local Lipschitz condition but neither the linear growth condition nor the bounded moment condition on the solutions. To guarantee the existence and uniqueness of the global solution to the underlying stochastic functional differential equation (SFDE) under the weaker conditions imposed in this paper, we establish a generalised existence-and-uniqueness theorem which covers a wider class of nonlinear SFDEs as demonstrated by the examples discussed in this paper. Moreover, from our improved results follow some new criteria on the stochastic asymptotic stability for SFDEs.
