法联络平坦子流形与第二基本张量

本文首先将常曲率黎曼流形中Ｂ．Ｙ．Ｃｈｅｎ和Ｍ．Ｏｋｕｍｕｒａ关于数量曲率和截面曲率关系间的一个著名不等式推广到环绕空间是局部对称共形平坦黎曼流形的情形．作为应用，较简捷地将Ｍ．Ｏｋｕｍｕｒａ在［２］，［３］中的结果推广到这种环绕空间中法联络是平坦的子流形上去．

本文研究局部对称共形平坦黎曼流形中具有平行平均曲率向量的紧致子流形的性质，通过一个代数不等式的证明，改进了已有的结果．

设M~(n p)是n p维共形平坦黎曼流形,且它的黎曼张量R_(tjkl)之共变导微▽R_(tjkl)=0,则称M~(n p)为局部对称共形平坦黎曼流形。 本文证得:若V~n(n≥2)是局部对称共形平坦黎曼流形M~(n p)的n维紧致无边子流形,它具有平坦法丛,若V~n在任一点上的截面曲率均大于T_c-t_c/2(n p-2),这里T_c、t_c分别是M~(n p)的Ricci曲率在该点的上、下确界,则V~n一定是M~(n p)的n 1维全测地子流形M~(n 1)之超曲面。

本文把[1]的结论推广到了环绕空间是局部对称共形平坦的情形,即获得了:设M~是局部对称共形平坦黎曼流形N~+p(p>1)中具有平行平均曲率向量的紧致子流形,如果则M~位于N~+p的全测地子流形N~+1中。其中S,H分别是M~的第二基本形式长度的平方和M~的平均曲率,T_C、t_c分别是N~+p的Ricci曲率的上、下确界,K是N~+p的数量曲率。     

The Chern Conjecture for Affinely Flat Manifolds Using Combinatorial Methods

An affine manifold is a manifold with a flat affine structure, i.e. a torsion-free flat affine connection. We slightly generalize the result of Hirsch and Thurston that if the holonomy of a closed affine manifold is isomorphic to amenable groups amalgamated or HNN-extended along finite groups, then the Euler characteristic of the manifold is zero confirming an old conjecture of Chern. The technique is from Kim and Lee's work using the combinatorial Gauss–Bonnet theorem and taking the means of the angles by amenability. We show that if an even-dimensional manifold is obtained from a connected sum operation from K(, 1)s with amenable fundamental groups, then the manifold does not admit an affine structure generalizing a result of Smillie.     

A Rigidity Theorem for Ricci Flat Metrics

A rigidity result of the complete n-dimensional spin Ricci flat manifolds admitting a certain smooth S¹ action is proved, provided that the action has fixed points and the metric is asymptotically flat. Such manifolds are isometric to the n-dimensional Riemannian Schwarzschild metric.

本论文考虑了所有强平坦右S-系是正则系的幺半群的刻画,证明了所有强平坦右S-系是正则S-系当且仅当S是右PSF幺半群并且S的每一个左coilpasible子幺半群包含左零元．该结果对Kilp和Knauer在文献[7]中的问题给出了一个新的回答．     

Representing homology classes by locally flat 2-spheres

We prove an existence result for topologically locally flat embeddings of 2-spheres in simply connected 4-manifolds. This topological result is deduced from a splitting theorem for pointed Hermitian modules over a cyclic group ring. A stability result for such modules is also proved. This applies to the isotopy classification of locally flat embeddings.Partially supported by the NSF.     

On a characterization of finite vector bundles as vector bundles admitting a flat connection with finite monodromy group

We prove that a holomorphic vector bundle over a compact connected Kähler manifold admits a flat connection, with a finite group as its monodromy, if and only if there are two distinct polynomials and , with nonnegative integral coefficients, such that the vector bundle is isomorphic to . An analogous result is proved for vector bundles over connected smooth quasi-projective varieties, of arbitrary dimension, admitting a flat connection with finite monodromy group.

When the base space is a connected projective variety, or a connected smooth quasi-projective curve, the above characterization of vector bundles admitting a flat connection with finite monodromy group was established by M. V. Nori.

利用「１」的方法及Ｓｉｍｏｎｓ型公式对常曲率空间中具有平行非退化截面的极小曲面进行了探讨,得到了一个较简洁的结果。     

Projectively flat Matsumoto metric and its approximation

In this article, the author studies the projectively flat Matsumoto metric F=α2/(α - β), where α=√aijyiyj is a Riemannian metric and β=biyi is a 1-form. They conclude that α is locally projectively flat and β is paralled with respect to α. And get the same result for the higher order approximate Matsumoto metric.     

Polynomial stability of solutions for a system of non-linear viscoelastic equations

In this article, we consider an interacting system consisting of two weakly-coupled viscoelastic equations. This work proves a uniform stabilization result without assuming any decay rate of the relaxation function provided that the kernels have some flat zones, the size of the flat zones are sufficiently small.
