In this article, we consider meromorphic univalent functions f in the unit disc of the complex plane having a simple pole at z = α ∈ (0, 1) with nonzero residue b at z = α. In 1969, P.N. Chichra proved an area theorem for such functions. In this note, we generalize this theorem and prove an interesting consequence of this result.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the asymptotic properties of diagonal Padé approximants for Markov-type meromorphic functions. The main result is strong asymptotic formulas for the denominators of diagonal Padé approximants for Markov-type meromorphic functions f = \(\hat \sigma \) + r under additional constraints on the measure σ (r is a rational function). On the basis of these formulas, it is proved that, in a sufficiently small neighborhood of a pole of multiplicity m of such a meromorphic function f, all poles of the diagonal Padé approximants f n are simple and asymptotically located at the vertices of a regular m-gon.  相似文献

We prove that the divisor function d(n) counting the number of divisors of the integer n is a good weighting function for the pointwise ergodic theorem. For any measurable dynamical system (X, A, ν, τ) and any fL p (ν), p > 1, the limit
$$\mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } \frac{1}{{\Sigma _{k = 1}^nd\left( k \right)}}\sum\limits_{k = 1}^n {d\left( k \right)f\left( {{\tau ^k}x} \right)} $$
exists ν-almost everywhere. The proof is based on Bourgain’s method, namely the circle method based on the shift model. Using more elementary ideas we also obtain similar results for other arithmetical functions, like the θ(n) function counting the number of squarefree divisors of n and the generalized Euler totient function J s (n) = Σ d|n d s μ(n/d), s > 0.

Let f be a function and ρ be a simple partial fraction of degree at most n. Under linear-fractional transformations, the difference f ? ρ becomes the difference of another function and a certain simple partial fraction of degree at most n with a quadratic weight. We study applications of this important property. We prove a theorem on uniqueness of interpolating simple partial fraction, generalizing known results, and obtain estimates for the best uniform approximation of certain functions on the real semi-axis ?+. For continuous functions of rather common type we first obtain estimates of the best approximation by differences of simple partial fractions on ?+. For odd functions we obtain such estimates on the whole axis ?.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a new family of period integrals attached to irreducible cuspidal automorphic representations σ of symplectic groups Sp2n(A), which detects the right-most pole of the L-function L(s, σ × χ) for some character χ of F×A × of order at most 2, and hence the occurrence of a simple global Arthur parameter (χ, b) in the global Arthur parameter ψ attached to σ. We also give a characterisation of first occurrences of theta correspondence by (regularised) period integrals of residues of certain Eisenstein series.  相似文献

It is well known that the fundamental solution of
$${u_t}\left( {n,t} \right) = u\left( {n + 1,t} \right) - 2u\left( {n,t} \right) + u\left( {n - 1,t} \right),n \in \mathbb{Z},$$
with u(n, 0) = δ nm for every fixed m ∈ Z is given by u(n, t) = e ?2t I n?m (2t), where I k (t) is the Bessel function of imaginary argument. In other words, the heat semigroup of the discrete Laplacian is described by the formal series W t f(n) = Σ m∈Z e ?2t I n?m (2t)f(m). This formula allows us to analyze some operators associated with the discrete Laplacian using semigroup theory. In particular, we obtain the maximum principle for the discrete fractional Laplacian, weighted ? p (Z)-boundedness of conjugate harmonic functions, Riesz transforms and square functions of Littlewood-Paley. We also show that the Riesz transforms essentially coincide with the so-called discrete Hilbert transform defined by D. Hilbert at the beginning of the twentieth century. We also see that these Riesz transforms are limits of the conjugate harmonic functions. The results rely on a careful use of several properties of Bessel functions.

We consider new series expansions for variants of the so-termed ordinary geometric square series generating functions originally defined in the recent article titled “Square Series Generating Function Transformations” (arXiv:1609.02803). Whereas the original square series transformations article adapts known generating function transformations to construct integral representations for these square series functions enumerating the square powers of \(q^{n^2}\) for some fixed non-zero q with \(|q| < 1\), we study the expansions of these special series through power series generated by Jacobi-type continued fractions, or J-fractions. We prove new exact expansions of the hth convergents to these continued fraction series and show that the limiting case of these convergent generating functions exists as \(h \rightarrow \infty \). We also prove new infinite q-series representations of special square series expansions involving square-power terms of the series parameter q, the q-Pochhammer symbol, and double sums over the q-binomial coefficients. Applications of the new results we prove within the article include new q-series representations for the ordinary generating functions of the special sequences, \(r_p(n)\), and \(\sigma _1(n)\), as well as parallels to the examples of the new integral representations for theta functions, series expansions of infinite products and partition function generating functions, and related unilateral special function series cited in the first square series transformations article.  相似文献

We discuss three interrelated extremal problems on the set P n,m of algebraic polynomials of a given degree n on the unit sphere \(\mathbb{S}^{m - 1}\) of the Euclidean space ? m of dimension m ≥ 2. (1) Find the norm of the functional \(F\left( \eta \right) = F_h P_n = \int_{\mathbb{G}\left( \eta \right)} {P_n (x)dx}\), which is the integral over the spherical layer \(\mathbb{G}\left( \eta \right) = \left\{ {x = \left( {x_1 , \ldots ,x_m } \right) \in \mathbb{S}^{m - 1} :h' \leqslant x_m \leqslant h''} \right\}\) defined by a pair of real numbers η = (h′, h″), ?1 ≤ h′ < h″ ≤ 1, on the set P n,m with the norm of the space \(L\left( {\mathbb{S}^{m - 1} } \right)\) of functions summable on the sphere. (2) Find the best approximation in \(L_\infty \left( {\mathbb{S}^{m - 1} } \right)\) of the characteristic function χ η of the layer \(\mathbb{G}\left( \eta \right)\) by the subspace P n,m of functions from \(L_\infty \left( {\mathbb{S}^{m - 1} } \right)\) that are orthogonal to the space of polynomials P n,m . (3) Find the best approximation in the space \(L\left( {\mathbb{S}^{m - 1} } \right)\) of the function χ η by the space of polynomials P n,m . We present a solution of all three problems for the values h′ and h″ that are neighboring roots of the polynomial in a single variable of degree n + 1 that deviates least from zero in the space L 1 φ (?1, 1) of functions summable on the interval (?1, 1) with ultraspherical weight φ(t) = (1 ? t 2) α , α = (m ? 3)/2. We study the respective one-dimensional problems in the space of functions summable on (?1, 1) with an arbitrary not necessarily ultraspherical weight.  相似文献

The well-known Paley inequalities for lacunary series are applied in investigation of weighted spaces H(p, α) and H(p, log(α)) of functions holomorphic in the unit disc of the complex plane. These are spaces which are similar to the Bloch and Hardy spaces and naturally arise as the images of some fractional operators.  相似文献

We examine when a meromorphic quadratic differential φ with prescribed poles is the Schwarzian derivative of a rational map. We give a necessary and sufficient condition: In the Laurent series of φ around each pole c, the most singular term should take the form(1- d2)/(2(z- c)2), where d is an integer, and then a certain determinant in the next d coefficients should vanish. This condition can be optimized by neglecting some information on one of the poles(i.e., by only requiring it to be a double pole). The case d = 2 was treated by Eremenko(2012). We show that a geometric interpretation of our condition is that the complex projective structure induced by φ outside the poles has a trivial holonomy group. This statement was suggested to us by Thurston in a private communication. Our work is related to the problem of finding a rational map f with a prescribed set of critical points, since the critical points of f are precisely the poles of its Schwarzian derivative. Finally, we study the pole-dependency of these Schwarzian derivatives. We show that, in the cubic case with simple critical points, an analytic dependency fails precisely when the poles are displaced at the vertices of a regular ideal tetrahedron of the hyperbolic 3-ball.  相似文献

We consider the following two problems. Problem 1: what conditions on a sequence of finite subsets A k ? ? and a sequence of functions λ k : A k → ? provide the existence of a number C such that any function fL 1 satisfies the inequality ‖U A(f)‖ p Cf1 and what is the exact constant in this inequality? Here, \(U_{\mathcal{A},\Lambda } \left( f \right)\left( x \right) = \sum\nolimits_{k = 1}^\infty {\left| {\sum\nolimits_{m \in A_k } {\lambda _k \left( m \right)c_m \left( f \right)e^{imx} } } \right|}\) and c m (f) are Fourier coefficients of the function fL 1. Problem 2: what conditions on a sequence of finite subsets A k ? ? guarantee that the function \(\sum\nolimits_{k = 1}^\infty {\left| {\sum\nolimits_{m \in A_k } {c_m \left( h \right)e^{imx} } } \right|}\) belongs to L p for every function h of bounded variation?  相似文献

Let {φ n (α,β) (z)} n=0 be a system of Jacobi polynomials orthonormal on the circle |z| = 1 with respect to the weight (1 ? cos τ)α+1/2(1 + cos τ)β+1/2 (α, β > ?1), and let \(\psi _n^{\left( {\alpha ,\beta } \right)*} \left( z \right): = z^n \overline {\psi _n^{\left( {\alpha ,\beta } \right)} \left( {{1 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {1 {\bar z}}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\bar z}}} \right)}\)). We establish relations between the polynomial φ n (α,?1/2) (z) and the nth (C, α ? 1/2)-mean of the Maclaurin series for the function (1 ? z)?α?3/2 and also between the polynomial φ n (α,?1/2)* (z) and the nth (C, α + 1/2)-mean of the Maclaurin series for the function (1 ? z)?α?1/2. We use these relations to derive an asymptotic formula for φ n (α,?1/2) (z); the formula is uniform inside the disk |z| < 1. It follows that φ n (α,?1/2) (z) ≠ 0 in the disk |z| ≤ ρ for fixed φ ∈ (0, 1) and α > ?1 if n is sufficiently large.  相似文献

Let C[0, t] denote a generalized Wiener space, the space of real-valued continuous functions on the interval [0, t], and define a random vector Z n: C[0, t] → R n+1 by \({Z_n}\left( x \right) = \left( {x\left( 0 \right) + a\left( 0 \right),\int_o^{{t_1}} {h\left( s \right)dx\left( s \right) + x\left( 0 \right) + a\left( {{t_1}} \right),...,\int_0^{{t_n}} {h\left( s \right)dx\left( s \right) + x\left( 0 \right) + a\left( {{t_n}} \right)} } } \right)\), where aC[0, t], hL 2[0, t], and 0 < t 1 <... < t nt is a partition of [0, t]. Using simple formulas for generalized conditional Wiener integrals, given Z n we will evaluate the generalized analytic conditional Wiener and Feynman integrals of the functions F in a Banach algebra which corresponds to Cameron-Storvick’s Banach algebra S. Finally, we express the generalized analytic conditional Feynman integral of F as a limit of the non-conditional generalized Wiener integral of a polygonal function using a change of scale transformation for which a normal density is the kernel. This result extends the existing change of scale formulas on the classical Wiener space, abstract Wiener space and the analogue of the Wiener space C[0, t].  相似文献

We present a new multifactorial global search algorithm (MGSA) and check the operability of the algorithm on the Michalewicz and Rastrigin functions. We discuss the choice of an objective function and additional search criteria in the context of the problem of reactive force field (ReaxFF) optimization and study the ranking of the ReaxFF parameters together with their impact on the objective function.  相似文献

The paper deals with the characterization of generalized order and generalized type of entire functions in several complex variables in terms of the coefficients of the development with respect to the sequence of extremal polynomials and the best L p -approximation and interpolation errors, 0 < p ≤ ∞, on a compact set K with respect to the set
$K_r = \left\{z \in \mathbb{C}^n, {\rm exp} (V_K (z)) \leq r\right\}$
where V K is the Siciak extremal function of a L-regular compact set K or V K is the pluricomplex Green function with a pole at infinity. It has been noticed that in the study of growth of entire functions, the set K r has not been used so extensively in comparison to disk. Our results apply satisfactorily for slow growth in \({\mathbb{C}^n}\) , replacing the circle \({\{z \in \mathbb{C}; |z| = r\}}\) by the set K r and improve and extend various results of Harfaoui (Int J Maths Math Sci 2010:1–15, 2010), Seremeta (Am Math Soc Transl 88(2):291–301, 1970), Shah (J Approx Theory 19:315–324, 1977) and Vakarchuk and Zhir (Ukr Math J 54(9):1393–1401, 2002).

Let (X, q) be an elliptic curve marked at the origin. Starting from any cover π: Γ → X of an elliptic curve X marked at d points {π i } of the fiber π ?1(q) and satisfying a particular criterion, Krichever constructed a family of d × d matrix KP solitons, that is, matrix solutions, doubly periodic in x, of the KP equation. Moreover, if Γ has a meromorphic function f: Γ → P1 with a double pole at each p i , then these solutions are doubly periodic solutions of the matrix KdV equation U t = 1/4(3UU x + 3U x U + U xxx ). In this article, we restrict ourselves to the case in which there exists a meromorphic function with a unique double pole at each of the d points {p i }; i.e. Γ is hyperelliptic and each pi is a Weierstrass point of Γ. More precisely, our purpose is threefold: (1) present simple polynomial equations defining spectral curves of matrix KP elliptic solitons; (2) construct the corresponding polynomials via the vector Baker–Akhiezer function of X; (3) find arbitrarily high genus spectral curves of matrix KdV elliptic solitons.  相似文献

We introduce new general techniques for computing the geometric index of a link L in the interior of a solid torus T. These techniques simplify and unify previous ad hoc methods used to compute the geometric index in specific examples and allow a simple computation of geometric index for new examples where the index was not previously known. The geometric index measures the minimum number of times any meridional disc of T must intersect L. It is related to the algebraic index in the sense that adding up signed intersections of an interior simple closed curve C in T with a meridional disc gives ± the algebraic index of C in T. One key idea is introducing the notion of geometric index for solid chambers of the form \(B^2\times I\) in T. We prove that if a solid torus can be divided into solid chambers by meridional discs in a specific (and often easy to obtain) way, then the geometric index can be easily computed.  相似文献

The Selberg class S consists of functions L(s) that are defined by Dirichlet series and satisfy four axioms (Ramanujan conjecture, analytic continuation, functional equation, and Euler product). It has been known that functions in S that satisfy the mean value condition on primes are universal in the sense of Voronin, i.e., every function in a sufficiently wide class of analytic functions can be approximated by the shifts L(s + ), τ ∈ R. In this paper we show that every function in the same class of analytic functions can be approximated by the discrete shifts L(s + ikh), k = 0, 1,..., where h > 0 is an arbitrary fixed number.  相似文献

We consider the questions of convergence in Lorentz spaces for the Fourier-Walsh series of the functions with Denjoy integrable derivative. We prove that a condition on a function f sufficient for its Fourier-Walsh series to converge in the Lorentz spaces “near” L cannot be expressed in terms of the growth of the derivative f′.  相似文献

We define V (α, β) (α < 1 and β > 1), the new subclass of analytic functions with bounded positive real part, \(V\left( {\alpha ,\beta } \right): = \left\{ {f \in A:\alpha < \operatorname{Re} \left\{ {{{\left( {\frac{z}{{f\left( z \right)}}} \right)}^2}f'\left( z \right)} \right\} < \beta } \right\}\), and study some properties of V (α, β). We also study the class U (γ) (γ > 0): \(u\left( \gamma \right): = \left\{ {f \in A:\left| {{{\left( {\frac{z}{{f\left( z \right)}}} \right)}^2}f'\left( z \right)} \right| - 1 < \gamma } \right\}\), where A is the class of normalized functions.  相似文献
