The problem whether Aluthge iteration of bounded operators on a Hilbert space H is convergent was introduced in [I. Jung, E. Ko, C. Pearcy, Aluthge transforms of operators, Integral Equations Operator Theory 37 (2000) 437-448]. And the problem whether the hyponormal operators on H with dimH=∞ has a convergent Aluthge iteration under the strong operator topology remains an open problem [I. Jung, E. Ko, C. Pearcy, The iterated Aluthge transform of an operator, Integral Equations Operator Theory 45 (2003) 375-387]. In this note we consider symbols with a fractional monotone property which generalizes hyponormality and 2-expansivity on weighted translation semigroups, and prove that if {St} is a weighted translation semigroup whose symbol has the fractional monotone property, then its Aluthge iteration converges to a quasinormal operator under the strong operator topology.  相似文献

In this paper, we give two explicit examples of unbounded linear maximal monotone operators. The first unbounded linear maximal monotone operator S on ?2 is skew. We show its domain is a proper subset of the domain of its adjoint S, and −S is not maximal monotone. This gives a negative answer to a recent question posed by Svaiter. The second unbounded linear maximal monotone operator is the inverse Volterra operator T on L2[0,1]. We compare the domain of T with the domain of its adjoint T and show that the skew part of T admits two distinct linear maximal monotone skew extensions. These unbounded linear maximal monotone operators show that the constraint qualification for the maximality of the sum of maximal monotone operators cannot be significantly weakened, and they are simpler than the example given by Phelps-Simons. Interesting consequences on Fitzpatrick functions for sums of two maximal monotone operators are also given.  相似文献

The Iterated Aluthge Transform of an Operator   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The Aluthge transform (defined below) of an operator T on Hilbert space has been studied extensively, most often in connection with p-hyponormal operators. In [6] the present authors initiated a study of various relations between an arbitrary operator T and its associated , and this study was continued in [7], in which relations between the spectral pictures of T and were obtained. This article is a continuation of [6] and [7]. Here we pursue the study of the sequence of Aluthge iterates { (n)} associated with an arbitrary operator T. In particular, we verify that in certain cases the sequence { (n)} converges to a normal operator, which partially answers Conjecture 1.11 in [6] and its modified version below (Conjecture 5.6). We consider the topological space of all weighted composition operators on weighted Bergman spaces of infinite order endowed with the operator norm. We show that the set of compact weighted composition operators is path connected. Furthermore, we find conditions to ensure that two weighted composition operators are in the same path connected component if the difference of them is compact. Moreover, we compare the topologies induced by L(H) and L(Hv) on the space of bounded composition operators and give a sufficient condition for a composition operator to be isolated.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that a composition operator onH p (B) is Fredholm if and only if it is invertible if and only if its symbol is an automorphism onB, and give the representation of the spectra of a class of composition operators. In addition, using composition operator, we discuss intertwining Toeplitz operators. Supported by NNSF and PDSF  相似文献

An operator means a bounded linear operator on a complex Hilbert space. Using two polar decompositions of idempotent and 2-nilpotent operators, we shall study numerical radii of these two operators and finally we shall discuss two operator transformations, one of which is the generalized Aluthge transformation and another is an extension of the operator transformation by Patel-Tanahashi-Uchiyama.  相似文献

We give an elementary proof of a formula recently obtained by Hammond, Moorhouse, and Robbins for the adjoint of a rationally induced composition operator on the Hardy space H2 [Christopher Hammond, Jennifer Moorhouse, Marian E. Robbins, Adjoints of composition operators with rational symbol, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 341 (2008) 626-639]. We discuss some variants and implications of this formula, and use it to provide a sufficient condition for a rationally induced composition operator adjoint to be a compact perturbation of a weighted composition operator.  相似文献

In this paper, we study composition operators on a Banach space of analytic functions, denoted byX, which includes the Bloch space. This space arises naturally as the dual space of analytic functions in the Bergman spaceL α 1 (D) which admit an atomic decomposition. We characterize the functions which induce compact composition operators and those which induce Fredholm operatorson this space. We also investigate when a composition operator has a closed range. Let D be a bounded homogeneous domain in ℂ n . In this paper, we study the bounded and the compact weighted composition operators mapping the Hardy space H (D) into the Bloch space of D. We characterize the bounded weighted composition operators, provide operator norm estimates, and give sufficient conditions for compactness. We prove that these conditions are necessary in the case of the unit ball and the polydisk. We then show that if D is a bounded symmetric domain, the bounded multiplication operators from H (D) to the Bloch space of D are the operators whose symbol is bounded.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to show that we can extend the notion of convergence in the norm‐resolvent sense to the case of several unbounded noncommuting operators (and to quaternionic operators as a particular case) using the notion of S‐resolvent operator. With this notion, we can define bounded functions of unbounded operators using the S‐functional calculus for n‐tuples of noncommuting operators. The same notion can be extended to the case of the F‐resolvent operator, which is the basis of the F‐functional calculus, a monogenic functional calculus for n‐tuples of commuting operators. We also prove some properties of the F‐functional calculus, which are of independent interest. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The operator that takes the function f   to ψf°φψf°φ is a weighted composition operator. We study numerical ranges of some classes of weighted composition operators on H2H2, the Hardy–Hilbert space of the unit disc. We consider the case where φ is a rotation of the unit disc and identify a class of convexoid operators. In the case of isometric weighted composition operators we give a complete classification of their numerical ranges. We also consider the inclusion of zero in the interior of the numerical range.  相似文献

Operators on function spaces acting by composition to the right with a fixed selfmap φ of some set are called composition operators of symbol φ. A weighted composition operator is an operator equal to a composition operator followed by a multiplication operator. We summarize the basic properties of bounded and compact weighted composition operators on the Hilbert Hardy space on the open unit disk and use them to study composition operators on Hardy–Smirnov spaces. We shall introduce a generalized Aluthge transformation on -
hyponormal operators and also, by using the Furuta inequality, we shall give several properties on this generalized Aluthge transformation as further extensions of some results of Aluthge.

We derive exact formulas for the essential and weak essential norms of weighted analytic composition operators acting on certain function spaces in the unit disc, extending and improving earlier results due to Sarason and to Kriete and Moorhouse. Differences of composition operators are also considered. The formulas involve the Aleksandrov measures associated to the symbol of the operator. The results are based on a variant of a general method due to Weis of constructing best compact and weakly compact approximants for linear operators on L1 spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we establish a new analytic enclosure for the spectrum of unbounded linear operators A admitting a block operator matrix representation. For diagonally dominant and off-diagonally dominant block operator matrices, we show that the recently introduced quadratic numerical range W2(A) contains the eigenvalues of A and that the approximate point spectrum of A is contained in the closure of W2(A). This provides a new method to enclose the spectrum of unbounded block operator matrices by means of the non-convex set W2(A). Several examples illustrate that this spectral inclusion may be considerably tighter than the one by the usual numerical range or by perturbation theorems, both in the non-self-adjoint case and in the self-adjoint case. Applications to Dirac operators and to two-channel Hamiltonians are given.  相似文献

We prove weak and strong maximum principles, including a Hopf lemma, for C 2 subsolutions to equations defined by linear, second-order, linear, elliptic partial differential operators whose principal symbols vanish along a portion of the domain boundary. The boundary regularity property of the C 2 subsolutions along this boundary vanishing locus ensures that these maximum principles hold irrespective of the sign of the Fichera function. Boundary conditions need only be prescribed on the complement in the domain boundary of the principal symbol's vanishing locus. We obtain uniqueness and a priori maximum principle estimates for C 2 solutions to boundary value and obstacle problems defined by these boundary-degenerate elliptic operators with partial Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions. We also prove weak maximum principles and uniqueness for W 1, 2 solutions to the corresponding variational equations and inequalities defined with the aide of weighted Sobolev spaces. The domain is allowed to be unbounded when the operator coefficients and solutions obey certain growth conditions.  相似文献

We compute the essential norm of a composition operator relatively to the class of Dunford-Pettis operators or weakly compact operators, on some uniform algebras of analytic functions. Even in the context of H (resp. the disk algebra), this is new, as well for the polydisk algebras and the polyball algebras. This is a consequence of a general study of weighted composition operators.   相似文献

The operator norms of weighted Hardy operators on Morrey spaces are worked out. The other purpose of this paper is to establish a sufficient and necessary condition on weight functions which ensures the boundedness of the commutators of weighted Hardy operators (with symbols in BMO(ℝ n )) on Morrey spaces.  相似文献

We prove Lp and smoothing estimates for the resolvent of magnetic Schrödinger operators. We allow electromagnetic potentials that are small perturbations of a smooth, but possibly unbounded background potential. As an application, we prove an estimate on the location of eigenvalues of magnetic Schrödinger and Pauli operators with complex electromagnetic potentials.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the weighted compositon operators on weighted Bergman spaces of bounded symmetric domains. The necessary and sufficient conditions for a weighted composition operator W φψ to be bounded and compact are studied by using the Carleson measure techniques. In the last section, we study the Schatten p-class weighted composition operators.  相似文献
