The propagation of longitudinal low frequency waves in the plasma of the positive column of a d.c. glow discharge is studied theoretically. The dispersion characteristics are obtained for conduction, ion acoustic and neutral acoustic waves. Equations are solved numerically and the results are compared with other theories and measurements.  相似文献

A fundamental study describing nonlinear plasma wave propagation is presented. Elementary linear wave theory describes small-amplitude random waves, but lacks information about coherent structures. This improved wave model arises from the fact that structure formation is inevitably associated with particle trapping, which can only be properly addressed by the pseudo-potential method instead of Bernstein, Greene, and Kruskal (BGK) - likemethods. Only by using this method can legitimate nonlinear dispersion relations be obtained and reconciled with trapping scenarios. This privilege is used to derive evolution equations for five structures, the derivation being simplified by the acoustic nature of the permitted modes. The focus is on a special structure, the solitary electron hole of negative polarity, with which it can explain a spacecraft observation for the first time. Furthermore, it is shown that an intrinsically nonlinear structure can become macroscopically linear and thus harmonic by suitably adjusting the trapping scenario. An example is the monochromatic ion acoustic wave that propagates at ion sound velocity without dispersion. In this literature research, it also takes a critical look at a recently awarded work.  相似文献

<正>The property of acoustic guided waves generated in a fluid-filled borehole surrounded by a non-Newtonian (Maxwell) fluid-saturated porous formation with a permeable wall is investigated.The influence of non-Newtonian effects on acoustic guided waves such as Stoneley waves,pseudo-Rayleigh waves,flexural waves,and screw waves propagations in a fluid-filled borehole is demonstrated based on the generalized Biot-Tsiklauri model by calculating their velocity dispersion and attenuation coefficients.The corresponding acoustic waveforms illustrate their properties in time domain.The results are also compared with those based on generalized Biot's theory.The results show that the influence of non-Newtonian effect on acoustic guided wave,especially on the attenuation coefficient of guided wave propagation in borehole is noticeable.  相似文献

The influence of liquid layers on the propagation of Lamb waves in a plate of finite thickness is studied theoretically. The dispersion equations of Lamb waves in a plate bordered with layers of liquids are derived. Numerical solutions of the equations show that the phase velocity of Lamb waves changes with the thickness of the liquid layers. For the lowest antisymmetrical mode of very thin plates, the numerical results calculated from the dispersion equations are compared with those derived from the bending wave acoustic impedance approach. The limitation of the latter is discussed. Applications of Lamb waves pertinent to biosensing are also presented.  相似文献

针对一维非线性声波的传播问题进行了有限元仿真和实验研究. 首先推导了一维非线性声波方程的有限元形式, 含有高阶矩阵的非线性项导致声波具有波形畸变、谐波滋生、基频信号能量向高次谐波传递等非线性特性. 编制有限元程序对一维非线性声波进行了计算并对仿真得到的畸变非线性声波信号进行处理, 分析其传播性质和物理意义. 为验证有限元计算结果, 开展了水中的非线性声波传播的实验研究, 得到了不同输入信号幅度激励下和不同传播距离的畸变非线性声波信号. 然后对基波和二次谐波的传播性质进行详细讨论, 分析了二次谐波幅度与传播距离和输入信号幅度的变化关系及其意义, 拟合出二次谐波幅度随传播距离变化的方程并阐述了拟合方程的物理意义. 结果表明, 数值仿真信号及其频谱均与实验结果有较好的一致性, 证实计算方法和结果的正确性, 并提出了具有一定物理意义的二次谐波随传播距离变化的简单数学关系. 最后还对固体中的非线性声波传播性质进行了初步探讨. 本研究工作可为流体介质中的非线性声传播问题提供理论和实验依据.  相似文献

The propagation of linear transverse acoustic waves in isotropic media in which mechanical relaxation phenomena occur was considered in a previous paper. In particular expressions for the velocity and attenuation of the waves were obtained and the limiting cases of waves with high and low frequencies were discussed. In the present paper we investigate the propagation of linear transverse acoustic waves in Poynting-Thomson, Jeffreys, Maxwell, Kelvin-Voigt, Hooke and Newton media. We show that the dispersion relations for these waves may be considered as degeneracies of the dispersion relation which we derived in the general case of a viscoanelastic medium with memory. In particular we investigate the explicit dependence of the dispersion relations on the thermodynamic parameters and the phenomenological coefficients.  相似文献

The paper deals with the propagation of externally excited signals in dc-discharges. The experimentally observed behaviour of signals can be qualitatively correct explained on the basis of the theoretically developed conception of the simultaneous propagation of ion acoustic wave and electron free streaming wave. There exists a satisfactory quantitative agreement between experimental and theoretical values of damping for both types of waves. The assumption of the existence of the electron free streaming wave explains not only the amplitude modulated measuring signal but also leads to an essentially better agreement between the experimental and theoretical values of damping for ion acoustic waves.  相似文献

Based on the quantum Magnetohydrodynamic (QMHD) model, the obliquely propagation of electrostatic waves in degenerate magnetized quantum plasmas with electron exchange-correlation effects are theoretically investigated. The modified linear dispersion relations of electrostatic waves are obtained and discussed in some specific cases. The analytical results clearly show that the dispersion properties of the high frequency electron waves (including the Langmuir wave and upper-hybrid wave) and the low frequency ion acoustic wave are modified by the quantum effects together with the electron exchange-correlation effects. The numerical results depict that the Langmuir wave and upper-hybrid wave can be unstable in the presence of the electron exchange-correlation effects, and it is also evidently indicated that the electron exchange-correlation effects can reduce the phase velocity of the waves, especially in the high wave number region. The corresponding results should be of relevance for identifying electrostatic fluctuations which transport in an inhomogeneous and magnetized quantum plasmas.  相似文献

The formation of solitary elastic surface pulses from laser-generated pulselike initial conditions is reported. The nonlinearity of the medium is compensated by both normal dispersion and anomalous dispersion, which were realized by coating isotropic fused silica by a metal and titanium nitride film, respectively. As an anisotropic material, silicon covered with an oxide layer was studied. The experimental results agree with numerical simulations carried out with a nonlocal evolution equation, which describes nonlinear propagation of surface acoustic waves in a dispersive medium.  相似文献

The effect of surface roughness on adhesion and tribological properties of films and interfaces is of key importance. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to be able to measure this quantity and to predict the effects that different roughness levels may cause. Roughness affects the propagation of surface acoustic waves on a material but there is little useful quantitative data on the topic. This work investigates the dispersive effect of roughness on surface acoustic wavepackets (30-200 MHz frequency range) for different degrees of nanometer roughness on silicon (0 0 1) and (1 1 1) surfaces, we show that the roughness-induced frequency dispersion effect is significant, and that although available theories agree qualitatively with the results, the theory is not adequate to predict the real SAW dispersion. These experimental results have considerable implications for design of SAW devices, for accuracy of Brillouin spectroscopy measurements, and for possible applications to non-destructive testing of materials. Previously unknown dispersive effects on anisotropic crystal surfaces are also demonstrated.  相似文献

The dispersion effects appearing during the propagation of acoustic waves through the plasma of a weakly ionized gas are studied. The main theoretical results are based on the equation of propagation of sound in the medium with the so-called Rayleigh energy release mechanism, which has been obtained earlier. Unlike the previous investigations, the problem of propagation of a perturbation from a source and not the problem of propagation of the initial perturbation is solved. In particular, the sources of an N-shaped shock wave and a wave in the form of a symmetrical step are analyzed in detail. It is shown that depending on the direction of wave propagation (along or across the electric field in a plasma), it degenerates either into a wave packet with a wave frequency lower than a certain frequency characterizing heating, or into a wave packet with a frequency higher than this value. In addition, a quantitative criterion is obtained, which makes it possible to estimate the plasma parameters for which it will be possible to observe the dispersion of acoustic waves in the plasma.  相似文献

The physical and optical properties of plasmas are depended on dynamics of species in the discharge volume. Then, the presence of an electron beam, as a separate component, in a dusty plasma can modify the plasma structures through altering the discharge parameters. In this report, the linear propagation of acoustic modes in a collisionless dusty plasma contains electrons, ions and charged dust grains is investigated in the presence of an electron beam. Our analysis indicates that the electron beam can modify the dispersion relations of dust acoustic modes which resulted different data transportation in dusty plasmas. The obtained results are also examined for negative and positive charged dust grains with different number densities. The charge of dust grains represents an important role in the dynamics of the low frequency waves. Additionally, our findings reveal that the propagation of acoustic waves in dusty plasmas can be controlled by adjusting the electron number density of the beam and the cathode potential. Lastly, we obtian the destabilizing effects, originated from dust charge fluctuation, by reconsidering the dispersion relations of both dust acoustic modes.  相似文献

We analyse the problem concerning the propagation of sound waves in gases by using the modified hydrodynamic theory proposed recently by Brenner for single-component fluids. The modifications introduced by Brenner are based on his proposal that the translational momentum in fluid motion is not given by the mass flux. Comparison of the sound propagation results derived from Brenner's theory with available experimental data for monatomic gases shows that this modified continuum theory is unable to describe the acoustic measurements not even in the low-frequency limit, a result that from our point of view makes Brenner's proposal questionable.  相似文献

提出了一种研究声表面波在压电晶体厚金属栅阵中传播特性的理论方法。将有限元和声表面波在周期栅阵中的变分原理分析方法相结合,在陈东培和H.A.Haus理论基础上、用有限元分析金属短路栅对声表面波传输特性的影响,将力学负载贡献的耦合模参数用有限元矩阵表示,使其适用于声表面波在厚金属或任意形状栅条中传输情况,给出了具体理论分析方法和相应的理论表达式。最后,具体研究了几种压电晶体上金、铝或银栅阵中声表面波的传输特性,通过数值计算给出了声表面波的耦合模参数。   相似文献

利用南海浅海海域低频声传播起伏实验中获取的水文数据,结合二维平流模型重构出声传播路径上的动态声速场,使用蒙特卡洛方法研究了有、无孤立子内波经过声传播路径条件下的声传播损失统计特性,并与实验结果进行了对比分析。仿真和实验结果表明:当孤立子内波经过声传播路径时,声传播损失起伏剧烈;与“下发上收”相比,“下发下收”情况下传播损失的概率分布更加分散。  相似文献

考虑孔隙流体中含有少量气泡,且气泡在声波作用下线性振动,研究声波在这种孔隙介质中的传播特性.本文先由流体质量守恒方程和孔隙度微分与流体压力微分的关系推导出了含有气泡形式的渗流连续性方程;在处理渗流连续性方程中的气体体积分数时间导数时,应用Commander气泡线性振动理论导出气体体积分数时间导数与流体压强时间导数的关系,进而得到了修正的Biot形式的渗流连续性方程;最后结合Biot动力学方程求得了含气泡形式的位移场方程,便可得到两类纵波及一类横波的声学特性.通过对快、慢纵波的频散、衰减及两类波引起的流体位移与固体位移关系的考察,发现少量气泡的存在对快纵波和慢纵波的传播特性影响较大.  相似文献

The oblique propagation of the quantum electrostatic solitary waves in magnetized relativistic quantum plasma is investigated using the quantum hydrodynamic equations. The plasma consists of dynamic relativistic degenerate electrons and positrons and a weakly relativistic ion beam. The Zakharov‐Kuznetsov equation is derived using the standard reductive perturbation technique that admits an obliquely propagating soliton solution. It is found that two types of quantum acoustic modes, that is, a slow acoustic mode and fast acoustic mode, could be propagated in our plasma model. The parameter that determines the nature of soliton, that is, compressive or rarefactive soliton, for slow mode is investigated. Our numerical results show that for the slow mode, the determining parameter is ion beam velocity in the case of relativistic degenerate electrons. We also have examined the effects of plasma parameters (like the beam velocity, the density ratio of positron to electron, the relativistic factor, and the propagation angle) on the characteristics of solitary waves.  相似文献
