2‐Ureido‐4(1H)‐pyrimidinone‐bridged ferrocene–fullerene assembly I is designed and synthesized for elaborating the photoinduced electron‐transfer processes in self‐complementary quadruply hydrogen‐bonded modules. Unexpectedly, steady‐state and time‐resolved spectroscopy reveal an inefficient electron‐transfer process from the ferrocene to the singlet or triplet excited state of the fullerene, although the electron‐transfer reactions are thermodynamically feasible. Instead, an effective intra‐assembly triplet–triplet energy‐transfer process is found to be operative in assembly I with a rate constant of 9.2×105 s?1 and an efficiency of 73 % in CH2Cl2 at room temperature.  相似文献

Anthracene-naphthalimide (An-NI) compact electron donor-acceptor dyads were prepared, in which the orientation and distance between the two subunits were varied by direct connection or with intervening phenyl linker. Efficient intersystem crossing (ISC) and long triplet state lifetime (ΦΔ=92 %, τT=438 μs) were observed for the directly connected dyads showing a perpendicular geometry (81°). This efficient spin-orbit charge transfer ISC (SOCT-ISC) takes 376 fs, inhibits the direct charge recombination (CR) to ground state (1CT→S0, takes 3.04 ns). Interestingly, efficient SOCT-ISC for dyads with intervening phenyl linker (ΦΔ=40 % in DCM) was also observed, although the electron donor and acceptor adopt almost coplanar geometry (dihedral angle: 15°). Time-resolved electron paramagnetic resonance (TREPR) spectroscopy shows that the electron spin polarization of the triplet state, i. e. the electron spin selectivity of ISC, is highly dependent on the dihedral angle and the linker. For the dyads showing weaker coupling between the donor and acceptors, the charge separation and the intramolecular triplet energy transfer are inhibited at 80 K (frozen solution), because both the 3An and 3NI states were observed and the ESP are same as compared to the native anthracene and naphthalimide, which unravel their origin. The dyads were used as triplet photosensitizers for triplet−triplet annihilation upconversion (TTA UC). High UC quantum yield (ΦUC=12.9 %) as well as a large anti-Stokes shift (0.72 eV) was attained by excitation into the CT absorption band.  相似文献

The photophysical properties of two related dyads based on a N,N‐dimethylaniline donor coupled to a fully‐alkylated boron dipyrromethene (Bodipy) acceptor are described. In one dyad, BD1 , the donor unit is attached directly to the Bodipy group, whereas in the second dyad, BD2 , a naphthalene spacer separates the two units. Cyclic voltammograms recorded for the two dyads in deoxygenated MeCN containing a background electrolyte are consistent with the reversible one‐electron oxidation of the N,N‐dimethylaniline group and the reversible one‐electron reduction of the Bodipy nucleus. There is a reasonable driving force (ΔGCT) for photoinduced charge transfer from the N,N‐dimethylaniline to the Bodipy segment in MeCN. The charge‐transfer state is formed for BD1 extremely fast (1.5 ps), but decays over 140 ps to partially restore the ground state. On the other hand, the charge‐transfer state for BD2 is formed more slowly, but it decays extremely rapidly. Charge recombination for both dyads leads to a partial triplet formation on the Bodipy group. The naphthalene spacer group is extremely efficient at promoting back electron transfer.  相似文献

A heteroleptic iron(II) complex [Fe(dcpp)(ddpd)]2+ with a strongly electron‐withdrawing ligand (dcpp, 2,6‐bis(2‐carboxypyridyl)pyridine) and a strongly electron‐donating tridentate tripyridine ligand (ddpd, N,N′‐dimethyl‐N,N′‐dipyridine‐2‐yl‐pyridine‐2,6‐diamine) is reported. Both ligands form six‐membered chelate rings with the iron center, inducing a strong ligand field. This results in a high‐energy, high‐spin state (5T2, (t2g)4(eg*)2) and a low‐spin ground state (1A1, (t2g)6(eg*)0). The intermediate triplet spin state (3T1, (t2g)5(eg*)1) is suggested to be between these states on the basis of the rapid dynamics after photoexcitation. The low‐energy π* orbitals of dcpp allow low‐energy MLCT absorption plus additional low‐energy LL′CT absorptions from ddpd to dcpp. The directional charge‐transfer character is probed by electrochemical and optical analyses, Mößbauer spectroscopy, and EPR spectroscopy of the adjacent redox states [Fe(dcpp)(ddpd)]3+ and [Fe(dcpp)(ddpd)]+, augmented by density functional calculations. The combined effect of push–pull substitution and the strong ligand field paves the way for long‐lived charge‐transfer states in iron(II) complexes.  相似文献

A series of 1-naphthanilides (1) and 2-naphthanilides (2) with varied substituents at the para- or meta-position of anilino phenyl ring were prepared and their absorption and fluorescence spectra in a nonpolar solvent cyclohexane were investigated. An abnormal long wavelength emission assigned to the charge transfer (CT) state was found for all of the prepared naphthanilides in cyclohexane. A linear free energy correlation between the CT emission energies and the Hammett constants of the substituent was found within series 1 and 2. The value of the linear slope with 1 (0.42 eV) was higher than that with 2 (0.32 eV) being close to that of the substituted benzanilides 3 (0.31 eV) The higher slope value suggested higher charge separation extent in the CT state of 1 than that of 2. It was found that the corresponding linear slope of anilino-substituted benzanilides remained unchanged when para-, meta-, ortho-, or ortho, ortho-methyls were introduced into the anilino moiety, which ruled out the possible contribution of the difference in the steric effect and the electron accepting ability of the naphthoyl acceptor in 1 and 2. Compared with the early reported N-substituted-benzoyl-aminonaphthalene derivatives 4 and 5, it was considered that 1-naphthoyl enhanced the charge transfer in 1 and the proximity of its ^1La and ^1Lb states was suggested to be responsible. It was shown that 1- and/or 2-substituted naphthalene cores acting as either electron acceptor (naphthoyl) or electron donor (aminonaphthalene) were different in not only electron accepting (donating) ability but also shaping the charge transfer pathway.  相似文献

Previous studies of perylenediimides (PDIs) mostly utilized the lowest singlet excited state S1. Generation of a triplet excited state (T1) in PDIs is important for applications ranging from photodynamic therapy to photovoltaics; however, it remains a formidable task. Herein, we developed a heavy‐atom‐free strategy to prompt the T1←S1 intersystem crossing (ISC) by introducing electron‐donating aryl (Ar) groups at the head positions of an electron‐deficient perylenediimide (PDI) core. We found that the ISC efficiency increases from 8 to 54 % and then to 86 % by increasing the electron‐donating ability of head‐substituted aryl groups from phenyl (p‐PDI) to methoxyphenyl (MeO‐PDI) and then to methylthioxyphenyl (MeS‐PDI). By enhancing the intramolecular charge‐transfer (ICT) interaction from p‐PDI to MeO‐PDI, and then to MeS‐PDI, singlet oxygen generation via energy‐transfer reactions from T1 of PDIs to 3O2 was demonstrated with the highest yield of up to 80 %. These results provide guidelines for developing new triplet‐generating PDIs and related rylene diimides for optoelectronic applications.  相似文献

Near‐IR (NIR) emission can offer distinct advantages for both in vitro and in vivo biological applications. Two NIR fluorescent turn‐on sensors N,N′‐di‐n‐butyl‐2‐(N‐{2‐[bis(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl)amino]ethyl})‐6‐(N‐piperidinyl)naphthalene‐1,4,5,8‐tetracarboxylic acid bisimide and N,N′‐di‐ n‐butyl‐2‐[N,N,N′‐tri(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl)amino]ethyl‐6‐(N‐piperidinyl)naphthalene‐1,4,5,8‐tetracarboxylic acid bisimide (PND and PNT) for Zn2+ based on naphthalenediimide fluorophore are reported. Our strategy was to choose core‐substituted naphthalenediimide (NDI) as a novel NIR fluorophore and N,N‐di(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl)ethane‐1,2‐diamine (DPEA) or N,N,N′‐tri(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl)ethane‐1,2‐diamine (TPEA) as the receptor, respectively, so as to improve the selectivity to Zn2+. In the case of PND, the negligible shift in absorption and emission spectra is strongly suggestive that the secondary nitrogen atom (directly connected to the NDI moiety, N1) is little disturbed with Zn2+. The fluorescence enhancement of PND with Zn2+ titration is dominated with a typical photoinduced electron‐transfer (PET) process. In contrast, the N1 atom for PNT can participate in the coordination of Zn2+ ion, diminishing the electron delocalization of the NDI moiety and resulting in intramolecular charge‐transfer (ICT) disturbance. For PNT, the distinct blueshift in both absorbance and fluorescence is indicative of a combination of PET and ICT processes, which unexpectedly decreases the sensitivity to Zn2+. Due to the differential binding mode caused by the ligand effect, PND shows excellent selectivity to Zn2+ over other metal ions, with a larger fluorescent enhancement centered at 650 nm. Also both PND and PNT were successfully used to image intracellular Zn2+ ions in the living KB cells.  相似文献

New PdII and PtII complexes with a highly electron‐deficient ligand (H2PcF64) were conveniently prepared in a three‐step synthesis. This is the first time that the phosphorescence of phthalocyanines with a H2PcF64 framework has been measured. Based on these measurements, the triplet‐state energies (ET) were directly determined. Transient absorption experiments revealed broad T1→Tn absorption spanning from ca. 350 to ca. 1000 nm and allowed determination of the triplet‐state lifetimes. Removal of the Pd or Pt from the perfluoro‐phthalocyanine resulted in a significant increase of the triplet lifetime for H2PcF64. The very efficient intersystem crossing observed for both PdPcF64 and PtPcF64 leads to residual fluorescence and suppresses the fluorescence lifetimes to less than 50 ps. The absence of Pd and Pt in the perfluoro‐phthalocyanine ligand, viz. H2PcF64, led to a recovery of fluorescence. Cyclic voltamperometry studies pointed to complete resistance of PdPcF64 and PtPcF64 to oxidation and very strong electron affinity, which rendered these materials very good electron acceptors (n‐type materials). The presence of d‐orbital metals such as PdII and PtII in the phthalocyanine ring stabilizes their reduced forms, as indicated by the spectroelectrochemical experiments. PdPcF64 and PtPcF64 easily sensitize singlet oxygen production with very high quantum yields. Both phthalocyanines presented resistance to photodegradation in the solid state under aerobic conditions and under intense irradiation.  相似文献

The site of electron‐transfer reduction of AuPQ+ (PQ=5,10,15,20‐tetrakis(3,5‐di‐tert‐butylphenyl)quino‐xalino[2, 3?b′]porphyrin) and AuQPQ+ (QPQ=5,10,15,20‐tetrakis(3,5‐di‐tert‐butylphenyl)bisquinoxalino[2,3‐b′:12,13‐b′′]porphyrin) is changed from the AuIII center to the quinoxaline part of the PQ macrocycle in the presence of Sc3+ in benzonitrile because of strong binding of Sc3+ to the two nitrogen atoms of the quinoxaline moiety. Strong binding of Sc3+ to the corresponding nitrogen atoms on the quinoxaline unit of ZnPQ also occurs for the neutral form. The effects of Sc3+ on the photodynamics of an electron donor–acceptor compound containing a linked ZnII and AuIII porphyrin ([ZnPQ–AuPQ]PF6) have been examined by femto‐ and nanosecond laser flash photolysis measurements. The observed transient absorption bands at 630 and 670 nm after laser pulse irradiation in the absence of Sc3+ in benzonitrile are assigned to the charge‐shifted (CS) state (ZnPQ . +–AuPQ). The CS state decays through back electron transfer (BET) to the ground state rather than to the triplet excited state. The BET rate was determined from the disappearance of the absorption band due to the CS state. The decay of the CS state obeys first‐order kinetics. The CS lifetime was determined to be 250 ps in benzonitrile. Addition of Sc3+ to a solution of ZnPQ–AuPQ+ in benzonitrile caused a drastic lengthening of the CS lifetime that was determined to be 430 ns, a value 1700 times longer than the 250 ps lifetime measured in the absence of Sc3+. Such remarkable prolongation of the CS lifetime in the presence of Sc3+ results from a change in the site of electron transfer from the AuIII center to the quinoxaline part of the PQ macrocycle when Sc3+ binds to the quinoxaline moiety, which decelerate BET due to a large reorganization energy of electron transfer. The change in the site of electron transfer was confirmed by ESR measurements, redox potentials, and UV/Vis spectra of the singly reduced products.  相似文献

We prepared and isolated a phenalenyl‐based neutral hydrocarbon ( 1 b ) with a biradical index of 14 %, as well as its charge‐transfer (CT) complex 1 b –F4‐TCNQ. The crystal structure and the small HOMO–LUMO gap assessed by electrochemical and optical methods support the singlet‐biradical contribution to the ground state of the neutral 1 b . This biradical character suggests that 1 b has the electronic structure of phenalenyl radicals coupled weakly through an acetylene linker, that is, some independence of the two phenalenyl moieties. The monocationic species 1 b. + was obtained by reaction with the organic electron acceptor F4‐TCNQ. The cationic species has a small disproportionation energy ΔE for the reaction 2× 1 b. +? 1 b + 1 b 2+, which presumably originates from the independence of the phenalenyl moieties. The small ΔE led to a small on‐site Coulombic repulsion Ueff=0.61 eV in the CT complex. Moreover, a very effective orbital overlap of the phenalenyl rings between molecules afforded a relatively large transfer integral t=0.09 eV. The small Ueff/4t ratio (=1.7) resulted in a metallic‐like conductive behavior at around room temperature. Below 280 K, the CT complex showed a transition into a semiconductive state as a result of bond formation between phenalenyl and F4‐TCNQ carbon atoms.  相似文献

The photochemical reaction between 1,2‐naphthoquinone (NQ ) and adenine was investigated using nanosecond time‐resolved laser flash photolysis. With photolysis at 355 nm, the lowest triplet state T1 of NQ was produced via intersystem crossing from its singlet excited state. The triplet‐triplet absorption of the state contributes three bands of transient spectra at 374, 596 and 650 nm, respectively, in pure acetonitrile and binary water‐acetonitrile solutions. In the presence of adenine, the observation of + (at 363 nm) and radical (at 343 and 485 nm) indicates a multistep mechanism of electron transfer process followed by a proton transfer between 3NQ * and adenine. By fitting with the Stern‐Volmer relationship, the quenching rate constant k q of 3NQ * by adenine in binary water‐acetonitrile solutions (4/1, volume ratio, v/v) is determined as 1.66 × 109 m −1 s−1. Additionally, no spectral evidence confirms the existence of electron transfer between 3NQ * with thymine, cytosine and uracil.  相似文献

The synthesis, characterization, photophysical properties, and theoretical analysis of a series of tetraaza porphyrin analogues ( H? Pn : n=1–4) containing a dipyrrin subunit and an embedded 1,10‐phenanthroline subunit are described. The meso‐phenyl‐substituted derivative ( H? P1 ) interacts with a Mg2+ salt (e.g., MgCl2, MgBr2, MgI2, Mg(ClO4)2, and Mg(OAc)2) in MeCN solution, thereby giving rise to a cation‐dependent red‐shift in both the absorbance‐ and emission maxima. In this system, as well as in the other H? Pn porphyrin analogues used in this study, the four nitrogen atoms of the ligand interact with the bound magnesium cation to form Mg2+–dipyrrin–phenanthroline complexes of the general structure MgX? Pn (X=counteranion). Both single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis of the corresponding zinc‐chloride derivative ( ZnCl? P1 ) and fluorescence spectroscopy of the Mg‐adducts that are formed from various metal salts provide support for the conclusion that, in complexes such as MgCl? P1 , a distorted square‐pyramidal geometry persists about the metal cation wherein a chloride anion acts as an axial counteranion. Several analogues ( H? Pn ) that contain electron‐donating and/or electron‐withdrawing dipyrrin moieties were prepared in an effort to understand the structure–property relationships and the photophysical attributes of these Mg–dipyrrin complexes. Analysis of various MgX? Pn (X=anion) systems revealed significant substitution effects on their chemical, electrochemical, and photophysical properties, as well as on the Mg2+‐cation affinities. The fluorescence properties of MgCl? Pn reflected the effect of donor‐excited photoinduced electron transfer (dPET) processes from the dipyrrin subunit (as a donor site) to the 1,10‐phenanthroline acceptor subunit. The proposed dPET process was analyzed by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy and by femtosecond transient absorption (TA) spectroscopy, as well as by theoretical DFT calculations. Taken together, these studies provide support for the suggestion that a radical species is produced as the result of an intramolecular charge‐transfer process, following photoexcitation. These photophysical effects, combined with a mixed dipyrrin–phenanthroline structure that is capable of effective Mg2+‐cation complexation, lead us to suggest that porphyrin‐inspired systems, such as H? Pn , have a role to play as magnesium‐cation sensors.  相似文献

The photophysical and photochemical properties of (OC‐6‐33)‐(2,2′‐bipyridine‐κN1,κN1′)tricarbonyl(9,10‐dihydro‐9,10‐dioxoanthracene‐2‐carboxylato‐κO)rhenium (fac‐[ReI(aq‐2‐CO2)(2,2′‐bipy)(CO)3]) were investigated and compared to those of the free ligand 9,10‐dihydro‐9,10‐dioxoanthracene‐2‐carboxylate (=anthraquinone‐2‐carboxylate) and other carboxylato complexes containing the (2,2′‐bipyridine)tricarbonylrhenium ([Re(2,2′‐bipy)(CO)3]) moiety. Flash and steady‐state irradiations of the anthraquinone‐derived ligand (λexc 337 or 351 nm) and of its complex reveal that the photophysics of the latter is dominated by processes initiated in the Re‐to‐(2,2′‐bipyridine) charge‐transfer excited state and 2,2′‐bipyridine‐ and (anthraquinone‐2‐carboxylato)‐centered intraligand excited states. In the reductive quenching by N,N‐diethylethanamine (TEA) or 2,2′,2″‐nitrilotris[ethanol] TEOA, the reactive states are the 2,2′‐bipyridine‐centered and/or the charge‐transfer excited states. The species with a reduced anthraquinone moiety is formed by the following intramolecular electron transfer, after the redox quenching of the excited state: [ReI(aq−2−CO2)(2,2′‐bipy.)(CO)3]⇌[ReI(aq−2−CO2.)(2,2′‐bipy)(CO)3] The photophysics, particularly the absence of a ReI‐to‐anthraquinone charge‐transfer excited state photochemistry, is discussed in terms of the electrochemical and photochemical results.  相似文献

Thiopurine prodrugs are currently among the leading treatment options for leukemia, immunosuppression, and arthritis. Patients undergoing long‐term thiopurine treatment are at a higher risk of developing sunlight‐induced skin cancers than the general population. This side effect originates from the cellular metabolization of thiopurine prodrugs to form 6‐thio‐2′‐deoxyguanosine, which can absorb UVA radiation, populating its reactive triplet state and leading to oxidatively generated damage. However, the photo‐oxidation mechanism is not fully understood. In this contribution, the oxidation potential and the adiabatic triplet energy of 6‐thio‐2′‐deoxyguanosine are estimated computationally, whereas the intrinsic rate of triple‐state decay and the rate constant for triplet quenching by molecular oxygen are determined using time‐resolved spectroscopic techniques. A singlet oxygen quantum yield of 0.24 ± 0.02 is measured in aqueous solution (0.29 ± 0.02 in acetonitrile). Its magnitude correlates with the relatively low percentage of triplet‐O2 collision events that generate singlet oxygen (SΔ = 37%). This behavior is rationalized as being due to the exergonic driving force for electron transfer between the triplet state of 6‐thio‐2′‐deoxyguanosine and molecular oxygen (ΔGET = ?69.7 kJ mol?1), resulting in the formation of a charge‐transfer complex that favors nonradiative decay to the ground state over triplet energy transfer.  相似文献

A porphyrin–flavin‐linked dyad and its zinc and palladium complexes (MPor?Fl: 2 ?M, M=2 H, Zn, and Pd) were newly synthesized and the X‐ray crystal structure of 2 ?Pd was determined. The photodynamics of 2 ?M were examined by femto‐ and nanosecond laser flash photolysis measurements. Photoinduced electron transfer (ET) in 2 ?H2 occurred from the singlet excited state of the porphyrin moiety (H2Por) to the flavin (Fl) moiety to produce the singlet charge‐separated (CS) state 1(H2Por.+?Fl.?), which decayed through back ET (BET) to form 3[H2Por]*?Fl with rate constants of 1.2×1010 and 1.2×109 s?1, respectively. Similarly, photoinduced ET in 2 ?Pd afforded the singlet CS state, which decayed through BET to form 3[PdPor]*?Fl with rate constants of 2.1×1011 and 6.0×1010 s?1, respectively. The rate constant of photoinduced ET and BET of 2 ?M were related to the ET and BET driving forces by using the Marcus theory of ET. One and two Sc3+ ions bind to the flavin moiety to form the Fl?Sc3+ and Fl?(Sc3+)2 complexes with binding constants of K1=2.2×105 M ?1 and K2=1.8×103 M ?1, respectively. Other metal ions, such as Y3+, Zn2+, and Mg2+, form only 1:1 complexes with flavin. In contrast to 2 ?M and the 1:1 complexes with metal ions, which afforded the short‐lived singlet CS state, photoinduced ET in 2 ?Pd???Sc3+ complexes afforded the triplet CS state (3[PdPor.+?Fl.??(Sc3+)2]), which exhibited a remarkably long lifetime of τ=110 ms (kBET=9.1 s?1).  相似文献

Abstract— The thermal generation of singlet and triplet excited states from silyloxyaryl-substituted spiroadamantyl dioxetanes lab and the adamantylidineadamantane dioxetane (1c) was investigated by direct and enhanced chemiluminescence (CL). 9,10-Diphenylanthracene (DPA) and 9-fluorenone were used as energy acceptors in the singlet-singlet (S-S), naphthalene and europium chelate Eu(TTA)3Phen (TTA = thenoyltrifluoroacetone, Phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) in the triplet-triplet (T-T) and 9,10-di-bromoanthracene (DBA) in triplet-singlet (T-S) energy transfer experiments. The direct chemiluminescence observed in the thermolysis of dioxetanes lab consisted of fluorescence derived from the singlet-excited adamantanones 2a,b. In the presence of naphthalene, selective T-S energy transfer with DBA (napthalene as quencher) displayed the adamantanone triplets 2a,b and with Eu(TTA)3Phen (naphthalene as mediator) also the silyloxyaryl ester 3 triplets. From the Stern-Volmer constants (kTNTT0) the triplet lifetimes t0t of these triplet state products were assessed. By using the Hastings-Weber standard, the total triplet excitation yield (φt) was estimated to be ca 20%. The energies of the first excited singlet and triplet states of the adamantanones 2a,b and the silyloxyaryl ester 3, the products of the thermally induced decomposition of dioxetanes la-c , were determined by semiempirical calculations (AMI-based configuration interaction), which included explicitly solvent effects on the excitation energies in terms of a self-consistent reaction field approach. The calculations revealed that the first excited singlet and triplet states of the adamantanones 2a,b are expectedly n,π*-type excitations while the silyloxyaryl ester 3 possesses π,π* character. The semiempirical computations suggest that excitation of the adamantanones 2a,b as well as the silyloxyaryl ester 3 is feasible in the thermolysis of the spiroadamantyl dioxetanes lab , which has been confirmed by the experimental energy transfer studies.  相似文献

C60–bodipy triads and tetrads based on the energy‐funneling effect that show broadband absorption in the visible region have been prepared as novel triplet photosensitizers. The new photosensitizers contain two or three different light‐harvesting antennae associated with different absorption wavelengths, resulting in a broad absorption band (450–650 nm). The panchromatic excitation energy harvested by the bodipy moieties is funneled into a spin converter (C60), thus ensuring intersystem crossing and population of the triplet state. Nanosecond time‐resolved transient absorption and spin density analysis indicated that the T1 state is localized on either C60 or the antennae, depending on the T1 energy levels of the two entities. The antenna‐localized T1 state shows a longer lifetime (τT=132.9 μs) than the C60‐localized T1 state (ca. 27.4 μs). We found that the C60 triads and tetrads can be used as dual functional photocatalysts, that is, singlet oxygen (1O2) and superoxide radical anion (O2 . ?) photosensitizers. In the photooxidation of naphthol to juglone, the 1O2 photosensitizing ability of the C60 triad is a factor of 8.9 greater than the conventional triplet photosensitizers tetraphenylporphyrin and methylene blue. The C60 dyads and triads were also used as photocatalysts for O2 . ?‐mediated aerobic oxidation of aromatic boronic acids to produce phenols. The reaction times were greatly reduced compared with when [Ru(bpy)3Cl2] was used as photocatalyst. Our study of triplet photosensitizers has shown that broadband absorption in the visible spectral region and long‐lived triplet excited states can be useful for the design of new heavy‐atom‐free organic triplet photosensitizers and for the application of these triplet photosensitizers in photo‐organocatalysis.  相似文献

An efficient functional mimic of the photosynthetic antenna‐reaction center has been designed and synthesized. The model contains a near‐infrared‐absorbing aza‐boron‐dipyrromethene (ADP) that is connected to a monostyryl boron‐dipyrromethene (BDP) by a click reaction and to a fullerene (C60) using the Prato reaction. The intramolecular photoinduced energy and electron‐transfer processes of this triad as well as the corresponding dyads BDP‐ADP and ADP‐C60 have been studied with steady‐state and time‐resolved absorption and fluorescence spectroscopic methods in benzonitrile. Upon excitation, the BDP moiety of the triad is significantly quenched due to energy transfer to the ADP core, which subsequently transfers an electron to the fullerene unit. Cyclic and differential pulse voltammetric studies have revealed the redox states of the components, which allow estimation of the energies of the charge‐separated states. Such calculations show that electron transfer from the singlet excited ADP (1ADP*) to C60 yielding ADP.+‐C60.? is energetically favorable. By using femtosecond laser flash photolysis, concrete evidence has been obtained for the occurrence of energy transfer from 1BDP* to ADP in the dyad BDP‐ADP and electron transfer from 1ADP* to C60 in the dyad ADP‐C60. Sequential energy and electron transfer have also been clearly observed in the triad BDP‐ADP‐C60. By monitoring the rise of ADP emission, it has been found that the rate of energy transfer is fast (≈1011 s?1). The dynamics of electron transfer through 1ADP* has also been studied by monitoring the formation of C60 radical anion at 1000 nm. A fast charge‐separation process from 1ADP* to C60 has been detected, which gives the relatively long‐lived BDP‐ADP.+C60.? with a lifetime of 1.47 ns. As shown by nanosecond transient absorption measurements, the charge‐separated state decays slowly to populate mainly the triplet state of ADP before returning to the ground state. These findings show that the dyads BDP‐ADP and ADP‐C60, and the triad BDP‐ADP‐C60 are interesting artificial analogues that can mimic the antenna and reaction center of the natural photosynthetic systems.  相似文献

The photoinduced electron‐transfer reaction of N, N, N', N'‐tetra‐(p‐methylphenyl)‐4,4'‐diamino‐1,1'‐diphenyl ether (TPDAE) and fullerenes (C60/C70) by nanosecond laser flash photolysis occurred in benzonitrile. Transient absorption spectral measurements were carried out during 532 nm laser flash photolysis of a mixture of the fullerenes (C60/C70) and TPDAE. The electron transfer from the TPDAE to excited triplet state of the fullerenes (C60/C70) quantum yields and rate constants of electron transfer from TPDAE to excited triplet state of fullerenes (C60/C70) in benzonitrile have been evaluated by observing the transient absorption bands in the near‐IR region where the excited triplet state, radical anion of fullerenes (C60/C70) and radical cations of TPDAE are expected to appear.  相似文献

Photooxidation of alkanes by dioxygen occurred under visible light irradiation of 2,3‐dichloro‐5,6‐dicyano‐p‐benzoquinone (DDQ) which acts as a super photooxidant. Solvent‐free hydroxylation of cyclohexane and alkanes is initiated by electron transfer from alkanes to the singlet and triplet excited states of DDQ to afford the corresponding radical cations and DDQ??, as revealed by femtosecond laser‐induced transient absorption measurements. Alkane radical cations readily deprotonate to produce alkyl radicals, which react with dioxygen to afford alkylperoxyl radicals. Alkylperoxyl radicals abstract hydrogen atoms from alkanes to yield alkyl hydroperoxides, accompanied by regeneration of alkyl radicals to constitute the radical chain reactions, so called autoxidation. The radical chain is terminated in the bimolecular reactions of alkylperoxyl radicals to yield the corresponding alcohols and ketones. DDQ??, produced by the photoinduced electron transfer from alkanes to the excited state of DDQ, disproportionates with protons to yield DDQH2.  相似文献
