We introduce two new classes of fusion categories which are obtained by a certain procedure from finite groups – weakly group-theoretical categories and solvable categories. These are fusion categories that are Morita equivalent to iterated extensions (in the world of fusion categories) of arbitrary, respectively solvable finite groups. Weakly group-theoretical categories have integer dimension, and all known fusion categories of integer dimension are weakly group-theoretical. Our main results are that a weakly group-theoretical category C has the strong Frobenius property (i.e., the dimension of any simple object in an indecomposable C-module category divides the dimension of C), and that any fusion category whose dimension has at most two prime divisors is solvable (a categorical analog of Burnside's theorem for finite groups). This has powerful applications to classification of fusion categories and semsisimple Hopf algebras of a given dimension. In particular, we show that any fusion category of integer dimension <84 is weakly group-theoretical (i.e. comes from finite group theory), and give a full classification of semisimple Hopf algebras of dimensions pqr and pq2, where p,q,r are distinct primes.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this article, we develop the obstruction theory for lifting complexes, up to quasi-isomorphism, to derived categories of flat nilpotent deformations of abelian categories. As a particular case we also obtain the corresponding obstruction theory for lifting of objects in terms of Yoneda Ext-groups. In an appendix we prove the existence of miniversal derived deformations of complexes.  相似文献

On the Structure of Modular Categories   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
For a braided tensor category C and a subcategory K there isa notion of a centralizer CC K, which is a full tensor subcategoryof C. A pre-modular tensor category is known to be modular inthe sense of Turaev if and only if the center Z2C CCC (not tobe confused with the center Z1 of a tensor category, relatedto the quantum double) is trivial, that is, consists only ofmultiples of the tensor unit, and dimC 0. Here , the Xi being the simple objects. We prove several structural properties of modular categories. Our main technical tool is the following double centralizertheorem. Let C be a modular category and K a full tensor subcategoryclosed with respect to direct sums, subobjects and duals. ThenCCCCK = K and dim K·dim CCK = dim C. We give several applications. (1) If C is modular and K is a full modular subcategory, then L=CCK is also modular and C is equivalent as a ribbon categoryto the direct product: . Thus every modular category factorizes (non-uniquely, in general)into prime modular categories. We study the prime factorizationsof the categories D(G)-Mod, where G is a finite abelian group. (2) If C is a modular *-category and K is a full tensorsubcategory then dim C dim K · dim Z2K. We give exampleswhere the bound is attained and conjecture that every pre-modularK can be embedded fully into a modular category C with dim C=dimK·dim Z2K. (3) For every finite group G there is a braided tensor*-category C such that Z2CRep,G and the modular closure/modularization is non-trivial. 2000 MathematicsSubject Classification 18D10.  相似文献

A finite tensor category is called pointed if all its simple objects are invertible. We find necessary and sufficient conditions for two pointed semisimple categories to be dual to each other with respect to a module category. Whenever the dual of a pointed semisimple category with respect to a module category is pointed, we give explicit formulas for the Grothendieck ring and for the associator of the dual. This leads to the definition of categorical Morita equivalence on the set of all finite groups and on the set of all pairs (G, ω), where G is a finite group and ω ? H 3(G, k ×). A group-theoretical and cohomological interpretation of this relation is given. A series of concrete examples of pairs of groups that are categorically Morita equivalent but have nonisomorphic Grothendieck rings are given. In particular, the representation categories of the Drinfeld doubles of the groups in each example are equivalent as braided tensor categories and hence these groups define the same modular data.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze the characters of modular, irreducible rep-resentations of classical Lie algebras g of types Al-1 and Ci arising from a characteristic 0 construction of torsion free representations. By character, we refer to linear functionals on g identified with algebra homomorphisms from a distinguished central subalgebra O of the universal enveloping algebra of g. If Lie(G') = g, then for each character X standard representatives with respect to a fixed toral subalgebra are found in the (2-orbit containing the character X For many parameters, these characters are nilpotent. Furthermore, modular representations of type Al-1 and type Cl Lie algebras constructed by induction from these irreducible, torsion free representations are shown to admit characters in a family of both Richardson and non-Richardson nilpotent orbits. Through this explicit induction construction, irreducible representations of minimal p-power dimension under the Kac-Weisfeiler conjecture are realized  相似文献

We consider algebras in a modular tensor category C. If the trace pairing of an algebra A in C is non-degenerate we associate to A a commutative algebra Z(A), called the full centre, in a doubled version of the category C. We prove that two simple algebras with non-degenerate trace pairing are Morita-equivalent if and only if their full centres are isomorphic as algebras. This result has an interesting interpretation in two-dimensional rational conformal field theory; it implies that there cannot be several incompatible sets of boundary conditions for a given bulk theory.  相似文献

Let \(\mathcal {C}\) be a modular category of Frobenius-Perron dimension d q n , where q >?2 is a prime number and d is a square-free integer. We show that \(\mathcal {C}\) must be integral and nilpotent and therefore group-theoretical. In the case where q =?2, we describe the structure of \(\mathcal {C}\) in terms of equivariantizations of group-crossed braided fusion categories.  相似文献

In this paper we apply the representation theory of the Lie algebra sl2(C) to the problem of describing Hessian nilpotent polynomials, which are important in the theory of the Jacobian Conjecture. In the two variable case we describe them as the maximal and minimal weight vectors of the irreducible representations of sl2(C). For the first time this gives a characterization of the Hessian nilpotent polynomials in terms of linear differential operators.  相似文献

We show that varieties of algebras over abstract clones and over the corresponding operads are rationally equivalent. We introduce the class of operads (which we call commutative for definiteness) such that the varieties of algebras over these operads resemble in a sense categories of modules over commutative rings. In particular, the notions of a polylinear mapping and the tensor product of algebras. The categories of modules over commutative rings and the category of convexors are examples of varieties over commutative operads. By analogy with the theory of linear multioperator algebras, we develop a theory of C-linear multioperator algebras; in particular, of algebras, defined by C-polylinear identities (here C is a commutative operad). We introduce and study symmetric C-linear operads. The main result of this article is as follows: A variety of C-linear multioperator algebras is defined by C-polylinear identities if and only if it is rationally equivalent to a variety of algebras over a symmetric C-linear operad.  相似文献

For a recollement (A,B, C) of abelian categories, we show that torsion pairs in A and C can induce torsion pairs in B; and the converse holds true under certain conditions.  相似文献

We show that certain p-adic Eisenstein series for quaternionic modular groups of degree 2 become “real” modular forms of level p in almost all cases. To prove this, we introduce a U(p) type operator. We also show that there exists a p-adic Eisenstein series of the above type that has transcendental coefficients. Former examples of p-adic Eisenstein series for Siegel and Hermitian modular groups are both rational (i.e., algebraic).  相似文献

We develop a categorical analogue of Clifford theory for strongly graded rings over graded fusion categories. We describe module categories over a fusion category graded by a group G as induced from module categories over fusion subcategories associated with the subgroups of G. We define invariant C e -module categories and extensions of C e -module categories. The construction of module categories over C is reduced to determining invariant module categories for subgroups of G and the indecomposable extensions of these module categories. We associate a G-crossed product fusion category to each G-invariant C e -module category and give a criterion for a graded fusion category to be a group-theoretical fusion category. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for an indecomposable module category to be extendable.  相似文献

Abstract

We study the Morita-Takeuchi context connecting two coalgebras which is dual to the Morita context for algebras. We show that every Morita-Takeuchi context, connecting two coalgebras C and D, leads to an equivalence between quotient categories of the comodule categories C M and D M. Afterwards we introduce a special Morita-Takeuchi context, called closed, and show that there is a bijection between isomorphism types of closed contexts and isomorphism types of category equivalences between quotient categories of C M and D M determined by localizing subcategories. This represents a dualization of the classical Morita theorems. Finally we show that from every general context one can construct a closed one.  相似文献

In their article, “On the derived subgroup of the free nilpotent groups of finite rank” R. D. Blyth, P. Moravec, and R. F. Morse describe the structure of the derived subgroup of a free nilpotent group of finite rank n as a direct product of a nonabelian group and a free abelian group, each with a minimal generating set of cardinality that is a given function of n. They apply this result to computing the nonabelian tensor squares of the free nilpotent groups of finite rank. We generalize their main result to investigate the structure of the other terms of the lower central series of a free nilpotent group of finite rank, each again described as a direct product of a nonabelian group and a free abelian group. In order to compute the ranks of the free abelian components and the size of minimal generating sets for the nonabelian components we introduce what we call weight partitions.  相似文献

This is the first paper in a series. We develop a general deformation theory of objects in homotopy and derived categories of DG categories. Namely, for a DG module E over a DG category we define four deformation functors Defh(E), coDefh(E), Def(E), coDef(E). The first two functors describe the deformations (and co-deformations) of E in the homotopy category, and the last two - in the derived category. We study their properties and relations. These functors are defined on the category of artinian (not necessarily commutative) DG algebras.  相似文献

Gromov proposed an averaged version of the Dehn function and claimed that in many cases it should be subasymptotic to the Dehn function. Using results on random walks in nilpotent groups, we confirm this claim for most nilpotent groups. In particular, if a nilpotent group satisfies the isoperimetric inequality δ(l)<Clα for α>2, then it satisfies the averaged isoperimetric inequality . In the case of non-abelian free nilpotent groups, the bounds we give are asymptotically sharp.  相似文献

In this paper, which is a continuation of our previous paper [T. Albu, M. Iosif, A. Tercan, The conditions (C i ) in modular lattices, and applications, J. Algebra Appl. 15 (2016), http: dx.doi.org/10.1142/S0219498816500018], we investigate the latticial counterparts of some results about modules satisfying the conditions (C 11) or (C 12). Applications are given to Grothendieck categories and module categories equipped with hereditary torsion theories.  相似文献

Motivated by algebraic structures appearing in Rational Conformal Field Theory we study a construction associating to an algebra in a monoidal category a commutative algebra (full centre) in the monoidal centre of the monoidal category. We establish Morita invariance of this construction by extending it to module categories. As an example we treat the case of group-theoretical categories.  相似文献
