Let X be a Green domain in Rd, d?2, xX, and let Mx(P(X)) denote the compact convex set of all representing measures for x. Recently it has been proven that the set of harmonic measures , U open in X, xU, which is contained in the set of extreme points of Mx(P(X)), is dense in Mx(P(X)). In this paper, it is shown that Mx(P(X)) is not a simplex (and hence not a Poulsen simplex). This is achieved by constructing open neighborhoods U0, U1, U2, U3 of x such that the harmonic measures are pairwise different and . In fact, these measures form a square with respect to a natural L2-structure. Since the construction is mainly based on having certain symmetries, it can be carried out just as well for Riesz potentials, the Heisenberg group (or any stratified Lie algebra), and the heat equation (or more general parabolic situations).  相似文献

Let U be a relatively compact open subset of a harmonic space, and H(U) be the function space of all continuous functions on which are harmonic on U. We give a complete characterization of the H(U)-exposed subsets of . This extends the results of [J. Lukeš, T. Mocek, M. Smr?ka, J. Spurný, Choquet like sets in function spaces, Bull. Sci. Suppose that E is a bounded domain of class C2,λ in and L is a uniformly elliptic operator in E. The set of all positive solutions of the equation Lu=ψ(u) in E was investigated by a number of authors for various classes of functions ψ. In Dynkin and Kuznetsov (Comm. Pure Appl. Math. 51 (1998) 897) we defined, for every Borel subset Γ of ∂E, two such solutions uΓ?wΓ. We also introduced a class of solutions uν in 1-1 correspondence with a certain class of σ-finite measures ν on ∂E. With every we associated a pair (Γ,ν) where Γ is a Borel subset of ∂E and . We called this pair the fine boundary trace of u and we denoted in tr(u).Let uv stand for the maximal solution dominated by u+v. We say that u belongs to the class if the condition tr(u)=(Γ,ν) implies that u?wΓuν and we say that u belongs to if the condition tr(u)=(Γ,ν) implies that u?uΓuν.It was proved in Dynkin and Kuznetsov (1998) that, under minimal assumptions on L and ψ, the class contains all bounded domains. It follows from results of Mselati (Thése de Doctorat de l'Université Paris 6, 2002; C.R. Acad. Sci. Paris Sér. I 332 (2002); Mem. Amer. Math. Soc. (2003), to appear), that all E of the class C4 belong to where Δ is the Laplacian and ψ(u)=u2. [Mselati proved that, in his case, uΓ=wΓ and therefore the condition tr(u)=(Γ,ν) implies u=uΓuν=wΓuν.]By modifying Mselati's arguments, we extend his result to ψ(u)=uα with 1<α?2 and all bounded domains of class C2,λ.We start from proving a general localization theorem: under broad assumptions on L, ψ if, for every y∂E there exists a domain such that E′⊂E and ∂E∂E′ contains a neighborhood of y in ∂E.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish some minimax theorems, of purely topological nature, that, through the variational methods, can be usefully applied to nonlinear differential equations. Let A be a commutative k-algebra over a field of k and Ξ a linear operator defined on A. We define a family of A-valued invariants Ψ for finite rooted forests by a recurrent algorithm using the operator Ξ and show that the invariant Ψ distinguishes rooted forests if (and only if) it distinguishes rooted trees T, and if (and only if) it is finer than the quantity α(T)=|Aut(T)| of rooted trees T. We also consider the generating function with , where is the set of rooted trees with n vertices. We show that the generating function U(q) satisfies the equation . Consequently, we get a recurrent formula for Un (n?1), namely, U1=Ξ(1) and Un=ΞSn−1(U1,U2,…,Un−1) for any n?2, where are the elementary Schur polynomials. We also show that the (strict) order polynomials and two well-known quasi-symmetric function invariants of rooted forests are in the family of invariants Ψ and derive some consequences about these well-known invariants from our general results on Ψ. Finally, we generalize the invariant Ψ to labeled planar forests and discuss its certain relations with the Hopf algebra in Foissy (Bull. Sci. Math. 126 (2002) 193) spanned by labeled planar forests.  相似文献

It is shown that, for the heat equation on , d ≥ 1, any convex combination of harmonic (= caloric) measures , where U 1, . . . , U k are relatively compact open neighborhoods of a given point x, can be approximated by a sequence of harmonic measures such that each W n is an open neighborhood of x in . Moreover, it is proven that, for every open set U in containing x, the extremal representing measures for x with respect to the convex cone of potentials on U (these measures are obtained by balayage, with respect to U, of the Dirac measure at x on Borel subsets of U) are dense in the compact convex set of all representing measures. Since essential ingredients for a proof of corresponding results in the classical case (or more general elliptic situations; see Hansen and Netuka in Adv. Math. 218(4):1181–1223, 2008) are not available for the heat equation, an approach heavily relying on the transit character of the hyperplanes , , is developed. In fact, the new method is suitable to obtain convexity results for limits of harmonic measures and the density of extremal representing measures on for practically every space–time structure which is given by a sub-Markov semigroup (P t ) t>0 on a space X′ such that there are strictly positive continuous densities with respect to a (non-atomic) measure on X′. In particular, this includes many diffusions and corresponding symmetric processes given by heat kernels on manifolds and fractals. Moreover, the results may be applied to restrictions of the space–time structure on arbitrary open subsets. I. Given aL1(R) and the generator A of an L1-integrable resolvent family of linear bounded operators defined on a Banach space X, we prove the existence of compact almost automorphic solutions of the semilinear integral equation for each f:R×XX compact almost automorphic in t, for each xX, and satisfying Lipschitz and Hölder type conditions. In the scalar linear case, we prove that aL1(R) positive, nonincreasing and log-convex is sufficient to obtain the existence of compact almost automorphic solutions.  相似文献

The probability measures on compact Hausdorff spaces K form a compact convex subset PK of the space of measures with the vague topology. Every continuous map of compact Hausdorff spaces induces a continuous affine map extending f. Together with the canonical embedding associating to every point its Dirac measure and the barycentric map β associating to every probability measure on PK its barycenter, we obtain a monad (P,ε,β). The Eilenberg-Moore algebras of this monad have been characterised to be the compact convex sets embeddable in locally convex topological vector spaces by Swirszcz [T. Swirszcz, Monadic functors and convexity, Bul. Acad. Polon. Sci. Sér. Sci. Math. Astron. Phys. 22 (1974) 39-42].We generalise this result to compact ordered spaces in the sense of Nachbin [L. Nachbin, Topology and Order, Von Nostrand, Princeton, NJ, 1965. Translated from the 1950 monograph “Topologia e Ordem” (in Portugese). Reprinted by Robert E. Kreiger Publishing Co., Huntington, NY, 1967]. The probability measures form again a compact ordered space when endowed with the stochastic order. The maps ε and β are shown to preserve the stochastic orders. Thus, we obtain a monad over the category of compact ordered spaces and order preserving continuous maps. The algebras of this monad are shown to be the compact convex ordered sets embeddable in locally convex ordered topological vector spaces.This result can be seen as a step towards the characterisation of the algebras of the monad of probability measures on the category of stably compact spaces (see [G. Gierz, K.H. Hofmann, K. Keimel, J.D. Lawson, M. Mislove, D.S. Scott, Continuous Lattices and Domains, Encyclopedia Math. Appl., vol. 93, Cambridge University Press, 2003, Section VI-6]).  相似文献

We study the problem in Ω, u=0 on Ω, where Ω is a bounded domain in RN, is a continuous function and λ and ε are two positive constants. We prove that for any ε>0 each λ∈(0,λ1) is an eigenvalue of the above problem, where λ1 is the principal eigenvalue of the Laplace operator on Ω. Moreover, for each eigenvalue λ∈(0,λ1) it corresponds a unique eigenfunction. The proofs will be based on the Banach fixed point theorem combined with adequate variational techniques.  相似文献

We study conditions under which the Hausdorff quasi-uniformity UH of a quasi-uniform space (X,U) on the set P0(X) of the nonempty subsets of X is bicomplete.Indeed we present an explicit method to construct the bicompletion of the T0-quotient of the Hausdorff quasi-uniformity of a quasi-uniform space. It is used to find a characterization of those quasi-uniform T0-spaces (X,U) for which the Hausdorff quasi-uniformity of their bicompletion on is bicomplete.  相似文献
