This paper studies the Cauchy problem for the coupled system of nonlinear Klein-Gordon equations with damping terms. We first state the existence of standing wave with ground state, based on which we prove a sharp criteria for global existence and blow-up of solutions when E(0)<d. We then introduce a family of potential wells and discuss the invariant sets and vacuum isolating behavior of solutions for 0<E(0)<d and E(0)≤0, respectively. Furthermore, we prove the global existence and asymptotic behavior of solutions for the case of potential well family with 0<E(0)<d. Finally, a blow-up result for solutions with arbitrarily positive initial energy is obtained.  相似文献

One of the features of solutions of semilinear wave equations can be found in blow-up results for non-compactly supported data. In spite of finite propagation speed of the linear wave, we have no global in time solution for any power nonlinearity if the spatial decay of the initial data is weak. This was first observed by Asakura (1986) [2] finding out a critical decay to ensure the global existence of the solution. But the blow-up result is available only for zero initial position having positive speed. In this paper the blow-up theorem for non-zero initial position by Uesaka (2009) [22] is extended to higher-dimensional case. And the assumption on the nonlinear term is relaxed to include an example, |u|p−1u. Moreover the critical decay of the initial position is clarified by example.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem in Rn,n≥1, for a semilinear damped wave equation with nonlinear memory. Global existence and asymptotic behavior as t of small data solutions have been established in the case when 1≤n≤3. We also derive a blow-up result under some positive data in any dimensional space.  相似文献

We show the asymptotic behavior of the solution to the Cauchy problem of the two-dimensional damped wave equation. It is shown that the solution of the linear damped wave equation asymptotically decompose into a solution of the heat and wave equations and the difference of those solutions satisfies the LpLq type estimate. This is a two-dimensional generalization of the three-dimensional result due to Nishihara (Math. Z. 244 (2003) 631). To show this, we use the Fourier transform and observe that the evolution operators of the damped wave equation can be approximated by the solutions of the heat and wave equations. By using the LpLq estimate, we also discuss the asymptotic behavior of the semilinear problem of the damped wave equation with the power nonlinearity |u|αu. Our result covers the whole super critical case α>1, where the α=1 is well known as the Fujita exponent when n=2.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the decay and blow-up properties of a viscoelastic wave equation with boundary damping and source terms. We first extend the decay result (for the case of linear damping) obtained by Lu et al. (On a viscoelastic equation with nonlinear boundary damping and source terms: Global existence and decay of the solution, Nonlinear Analysis: Real World Applications 12 (1) (2011), 295-303) to the nonlinear damping case under weaker assumption on the relaxation function g(t). Then, we give an exponential decay result without the relation between g(t) and g(t) for the linear damping case, provided that ‖gL1(0,) is small enough. Finally, we establish two blow-up results: one is for certain solutions with nonpositive initial energy as well as positive initial energy for both the linear and nonlinear damping cases, the other is for certain solutions with arbitrarily positive initial energy for the linear damping case.  相似文献

We study the nonlinear wave equation with a sign-changing potential in any space dimension. If the potential is small and rapidly decaying, then the existence of small-amplitude solutions is driven by the nonlinear term. If the potential induces growth in the linearized problem, however, solutions that start out small may blow-up in finite time.  相似文献

Under some non-degeneracy condition we show that sequences of entropy solutions of a semi-linear elliptic equation are strongly pre-compact in the general case of a Carathéodory flux vector. The proofs are based on localization principles for H-measures corresponding to sequences of measure-valued functions.  相似文献

This paper deals with parabolic equation utu+r|∇u|−aepu subject to nonlinear boundary flux ∂u/∂η=equ, where r>1, p,q,a>0. There are two positive sources (the gradient reaction and the boundary flux) and a negative one (the absorption) in the model. It is well known that blow-up or not of solutions depends on which one dominating the model, the positive or negative sources, and furthermore on the absorption coefficient for the balance case of them. The aim of the paper is to study the influence of the reactive gradient term on the asymptotic behavior of solutions. We at first determine the critical blow-up exponent, and then obtain the blow-up rate, the blow-up set as well as the spatial blow-up profile for blow-up solutions in the one-dimensional case. It turns out that the gradient term makes a substantial contribution to the formation of blow-up if and only if r?2, where the critical r=2 is such a balance situation of the two positive sources for which the effects of the gradient reaction and the boundary source are at the same level. In addition, it is observed that the gradient term with r>2 significantly affects the blow-up rate also. In fact, the gained blow-up rates themselves contain the exponent r of the gradient term. Moreover, the blow-up rate may be discontinuous with respect to parameters included in the problem due to convection. As for the influence of gradient perturbations on spatial blow-up profiles, we only need some coefficients related to r for the profile estimates, while the exponent of the profile itself is r-independent. This seems natural for boundary blow-up solutions that the spatial profiles mainly rely on the exponent of the boundary singularity.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the initial-boundary problem of a degenerate parabolic system with nonlinear localized sources. We classify the blow-up solutions into global blow-up cases and single-point blow-up cases according to the values of m,n,pi,qi. Furthermore, we obtain the uniform blow-up profiles of solutions for the global blow-up case. Finally, we give some numerical examples to verify the results. These extend and generalize a recent work of one of the authors [L. Du, Blow-up for a degenerate reaction-diffusion systems with nonlinear localized sources, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 324 (2006) 304-320], which only considered uniform blow-up profiles under the special case p1=p2=0.  相似文献

We study the Cauchy problem for a 1D nonlinear wave equation on R. The nonlinearity can depend on the unknown function and its first order spatial derivative. Using the fixed point theorem we prove the existence of a classical solution. Moreover, the existence of periodic and almost periodic solutions are shown.  相似文献

We use normal forms for Sobolev energy to prove that small smooth solutions of semi-linear Klein-Gordon equations on the torus exist over a larger interval than the one given by local existence theory, for almost every value mass. The gain on the length of the lifespan does not depend on the dimension. The result relies on the fact that the difference of square of two successive distinct eigenvalues of on Td can be bounded from below by a constant.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the initial-boundary value problem for a system of nonlinear wave equations, involving nonlinear damping terms, in a bounded domain Ω. The nonexistence of global solutions is discussed under some conditions on the given parameters. Estimates on the lifespan of solutions are also given. Our results extend and generalize the recent results in [K. Agre, M.A. Rammaha, System of nonlinear wave equations with damping and source terms, Differential Integral Equations 19 (2006) 1235-1270], especially, the blow-up of weak solutions in the case of non-negative energy.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the Cauchy problem of a weakly dissipative μ-Hunter–Saxton equation. We first establish the local well-posedness for the weakly dissipative μ-Hunter–Saxton equation by Kato's semigroup theory. Then, we derive the precise blow-up scenario for strong solutions to the equation. Moreover, we present some blow-up results for strong solutions to the equation. Finally, we give two global existence results to the equation.  相似文献

We study the sample path regularity of the solutions of a class of spde's which are second order in time and that includes the stochastic wave equation. Non-integer powers of the spatial Laplacian are allowed. The driving noise is white in time and spatially homogeneous. Continuing with the work initiated in Dalang and Mueller (Electron. J. Probab. 8 (2003) 1), we prove that the solutions belong to a fractional L2-Sobolev space. We also prove Hölder continuity in time and therefore, we obtain joint Hölder continuity in the time and space variables. Our conclusions rely on a precise analysis of the properties of the stochastic integral used in the rigourous formulation of the spde, as introduced by Dalang and Mueller. For spatial covariances given by Riesz kernels, we show that our results are optimal.  相似文献

We consider the Yangs-Mills equations in 4+1 dimensions. This is the energy critical case and we show that it admits a family of solutions which blow up in finite time. They are obtained by the spherically symmetric ansatz in the SO(4) gauge group and result by rescaling of the instanton solution. The rescaling is done via a prescribed rate which in this case is a modification of the self-similar rate by a power of |logt|. The powers themselves take any value exceeding 3/2 and thus form a continuum of distinct rates leading to blow-up. The methods are related to the authors' previous work on wave maps and the energy critical semi-linear equation. However, in contrast to these equations, the linearized Yang-Mills operator (around an instanton) exhibits a zero energy eigenvalue rather than a resonance. This turns out to have far-reaching consequences, amongst which are a completely different family of rates leading to blow-up (logarithmic rather than polynomial corrections to the self-similar rate).  相似文献

This paper deals with the global existence and blow-up of solutions to some nonlinear hyperbolic systems with damping and source terms in a bounded domain. By using the potential well method, we obtain the global existence. Moreover, for the problem with linear damping terms, blow-up of solutions is considered and some estimates for the lifespan of solutions are given.  相似文献

We consider the semilinear wave equation in the radial case with conformal subcritical power nonlinearity. If we consider a blow-up point different from the origin, then we exhibit a new Lyapunov functional which is a perturbation of the one-dimensional case and extend all our previous results known in the one-dimensional case. In particular, we show that the blow-up set near non-zero non-characteristic points is of class C1, and that the set of characteristic points is made of concentric spheres in finite number in for any R>1.  相似文献

We study the large time behavior of solutions of a one-dimensional hyperbolic relaxation system that may be written as a nonlinear damped wave equation. First, we prove the global existence of a unique solution and their decay properties for sufficiently small initial data. We also show that for some large initial data, solutions blow-up in finite time. For quadratic nonlinearities, we prove that the large time behavior of solutions is given by the fundamental solution of the viscous Burgers equation. In some other cases, the convection term is too weak and the large time behavior is given by the linear heat kernel.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global existence and the asymptotic behavior of classical solution of the Cauchy problem for quasilinear hyperbolic system with constant multiple and linearly degenerate characteristic fields. We prove that the global C1 solution exists uniquely if the BV norm of the initial data is sufficiently small. Based on the existence result on the global classical solution, we show that, when the time t tends to the infinity, the solution approaches a combination of C1 traveling wave solutions. Finally, we give an application to the equation for time-like extremal surfaces in the Minkowski space-time R1+n.  相似文献
