A precedure has been developed for the chemical binding of L-asparaginase to soluble CM-cellulose which permits final immobilization products with different degrees of modification to be obtained. The synthesis of N-methoxyascorbigen (neoascorbigen) — a natural substance from plants of the Cruciferae family — and also N-ethoxyascorbigen is described. In an acidic media under drastic conditions N-alkoxyascorbigens undergo transformations with the release of ascorbic acid and the formation of oligomers of 1-alkoxy-3-methyleneindolenine or with opening of the lactone ring, decarboxylation, and dehydration and the formation of 2-hydroxy-3-(1-alkoxy-3-indolyl)-4-hydroxymethylcyclopent-2-enone. The synthesis has been effected of immobilizedE. coli L-asparaginase on medical dextran — poliglyukin. The influence of the bound polymer on some physicochemical properties of the final products have been studied. An increased resistance to heat and stability on storage of the immobilized forms of L-asparagine in comparison with a native enzyme has been found. A biochemical evaluation of the accumulation of amino acids and organic acids in the culture medium during the cultivation of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis str. 2781 as a function of the temperature has been made by methods of quantitative chromatographic analysis. A considerable decrease in the biosynthesis of the products of vital activity under investigation at 37°C as compared with the cultivation of the same microorganism at 6°C has been found. Callus cultures and radical cultures from the roots of plantation ginseng plants of the Maritime Territory population have been obtained. It has been established that, with respect to the level of ginsenosides that they contain, the new cultures are close to those parts of the root from which they were obtained; the spectrum of the ginsenosides in the culture is somewhat narrower than in the root. The photooxidation of tropan derivatives by ketones was studied; the targeting of the reaction to the N-CH3 group with the formation of N-alkylation products and bis-tropan derivatives was demonstrated.
