Specific heat studies of the high-Tc superconducting compound YBa2Cu3O7−x with bulk transition temperature at 92K are reported. A distinct anomaly of electronic origin in the specific heat is observed with granular-like behavior corresponding to a Sommerfeld constant γ = 7±2mJ(moleCuK2)±1 Debye temperature (φo ≈ 400K) is obtained by fitting the experimental data with the theoretical Debye specific heat.  相似文献

Single domain superconductor GdBa2Cu3O7?δ bulks with variable additions of (ZnO + ZrO2 + SnO2) nano-particles was prepared in air by using top seed melt-textured growth process. The effect of nano-particle additions on superconductivity properties has been investigated. An enhancement of the critical current JC in low and intermediate field at 77 K and trapped field was discovered by the additions of the nano-particles. At the same time, the superconductor transition temperature, TC, slightly decreases from 93.5 K to 91.5 K. The experimental results show that the accumulation of the nano-particle inclusions may improve JC of the specimens.  相似文献

The objective of this work is to investigate the effect of Ag nanoparticles on critical current of YBa2Cu3O7?δ (YBCO) superconductor. Ag nanoparticles with different particle sizes from 30 to 1000 nm were prepared through the chemical reduction of AgNO3 in an alcohol solution. Then, samples of YBCO superconductors were doped by 1 and 2 wt.% of Ag nanoparticles with different sizes. Samples were characterized with XRD, SEM and EDX measurements. Critical current measurements were performed using a standard four-probe technique at liquid nitrogen temperature. The results showed by increasing of Ag nanoparticles up to 700 nm the Jc increases, but decreases by further increase in Ag particles size. The critical current enhancement is attributed to the improved connectivity between the grain boundaries and better crystallization of the grains.  相似文献

Temperature dependences of the magnetization harmonics of YBa2Cu3O7 ? x monodomain samples are studied experimentally at temperatures of 77–120 K. It is found that nonlinearity of magnetization of YBa2Cu3O7 ? x (higher harmonics generation) is observed up to temperatures T = 103–112 K, which are much higher than the superconducting transition temperature of this compound. At the same temperatures, the temperature dependence of resistivity begins to deviate from linearity. The observed singularity of the magnetization of YBa2Cu3O7 ? x is associated with the emergence of a pseudogap state in this compound.  相似文献

We have measured the ac susceptibility of a wire with a Nb core (1.27 mm diam.) and a Cu cladding (0.37 mm thickness) atT50 K andB0.1 mG. Due to its proximity to Nb, the Cu becomes fully superconducting. From the data we find a breakdown fieldH b =1.2 (mG) and a coherence length =2.2T –1/2 (m) for the Cu, as well as a field penetration depth -34T 1/2 (m) at the Cu/Nb interface.  相似文献

The time-resolved optical response from various crystallographic planes of a YBa2Cu3O7?x monocrystal is investigated. In such measurements of temporal behavior, the phonon system is driven by an ultrashort (subpicosecond) pulse into a coherent state and is probed by a second ultrashort pulse with a given temporal delay. A comparison of the Fourier transforms of the temporal responses with the spontaneous Raman scattering spectra shows that the contribution to a temporal response comes not only from fully symmetric phonons, but also from off-diagonal modes. The mechanism of generation of coherent phonons in high-temperature superconductors is discussed.  相似文献

EPR spectra of superconducting YBa2Cu3O7-δ and insulating Y2BaCuO5 have been examined. The intensity of Cu2+ ions in YBa2Cu3O7-δ is about 1/3000 of that in Y2BaCuO5 at room temperature. Owing to the Meissner effect in the superconducting state, the EPR signal of Cu2+ ions in YBa2Cu3O7-δ disappears; moreover the EPR signal of DPPH deposited on the YBa2Cu3O7-δ specimen is shifted. An additional EPR line is found for YBa2(Cu2.94Cr0.06)O7-δ at temperatures below 113K; this can be related to the phenomenon of superconductivity.  相似文献

A systematic study has been carried out on the normal state resistivity of YBa2Cu3O7–x . Samples were cut from the same well-annealed material and were quenched from different temperatures (T Q ). The resistivity is metallic whenT Q 500 °C and becomes semiconductor-like whenT Q 600 °C. The data on the latter was interpreted in terms of the three-dimensional localization model proposed by Mott.The work at USCD was supported by the California MICRO program  相似文献

The magnetic properties of superconducting EuBa2Cu3O7–x with resistiveT c 96.5 K are measured. The normal state magnetic susceptibility is analyzed within the framework of the Van Vleck-Frank theory, leading to the conclusion that the strong moments of the Eu3+ ions are uncorrelated, and do not affect the superconducting state.  相似文献

The initial stages in the formation and growth of yttrium-barium cuprate films have been studied in the course of magnetron sputtering of a ceramic target by combining medium-energy-ion scattering (MEIS) and scanning-electron microscopy. The growth mechanisms of YBa2Cu3O7−x films on MgO and substrates having the perovskite structure, SrTiO3 and LaAlO3, at deposition temperatures of 700–780 °C and (Ar+O2) pressure of ∼70 Pa were found to be essentially different. Simulation of MEIS spectra (H+ or He+ ions with initial energies of 150–250 keV) and comparison of these results with experimental data revealed that in the first case a film forms from pyramid-shaped islands and, in the second, it grows by a two-dimensional layer-by-layer process starting practically with the first monolayer. For the island mechanism, MEIS permitted determination of the substrate surface coverage and showed the growth of the YBa2Cu3O7−x phase to be paralleled by formation of epitaxial nuclei of a Cu2O phase. After the first, initial stage in the film formation, the second stage, regular growth within reduced thicknesses of 7–15 nm, sets in. This stage is characterized by a practically complete coverage of the substrate and a stable composition. The third stage, regular growth, of an apparently helical nature, was observed to set in at thicknesses above 100 nm. In this stage, the quality of film structure in the bulk and on the surface was found to be somewhat inferior to that of YBa2Cu3O7−x single crystals and did not depend on substrate type. Fiz. Tverd. A top-seeded melt-growth (TSMG) process is widely used to fabricate single domain YBa2Cu3Oy (Y–Ba–Cu–O) bulk superconductors. Pores are often found in the TSMG-processed Y–Ba–Cu–O samples due to the oxygen gas evolution during the molten stage. Recently developed liquid infiltration growth (LIG) process is known to be effective in suppressing the pore evolution and in refining the size of Y2BaCuO5 (Y211) particles dispersed in YBa2Cu3Oy matrix. The LIG process utilizes the liquid (Ba3Cu5O8) infiltration into a pre- sintered Y211 contact and slow cooling through a peritectic temperature. In this study, we fabricated bulk Y–Ba–Cu–O superconductors by the LIG process combined with top-seeding with SmBa2Cu3Oy seed and confirmed that a single-domain bulk can be produced. Trapped field measurements however showed that some distortion in the field distribution was observed in the region near the seed crystal, which was attributed to Y211 density and its relatively large size.  相似文献

In order to obtain insight into the role played by the phonons in the superconducting phase transition, we have performed infrared reflectivity and inelastic neutron scattering experiments on single phase YBa2Cu3O7–(0.1,T c =94 K, T 10–90=1 K). These experimental results, together with published Raman scattering and specific heat data are used to determine the parameters of a rigid-ion model; the model is able to reproduce qualitatively the experimental data. On the basis of our model we derive and discuss the phonon density of states and the pattern of atomic displacements of some important vibrational modes. In particular, the model reveals the existence of high-frequency oxygen breathing modes and of low-frequency copper dimerization modes in both the CuO3-chains and the CuO2-planes. Furthermore, Jahn-Teller like oxygen modes exist in the chains. The possible role of these modes with respect to the pairing mechanism is discussed. In addition there exist low-frequency chain-degrading modes which favour jumps of oxygen atoms out of the CuO3-chains into neighbouring vacant sites in the basal plane.  相似文献

The YBa2Cu3O7?x (Y123) textured bulk superconductors with various amounts of nanometer alumina particles were fabricated by a seeded infiltration and growth process. The addition of nanometer alumina was found to be effective for an improvement of the superconducting properties. The critical current density (Jc) values were increased twice in self field with a slight addition amount of nanometer alumina particles (maximum Jc at 0.01 wt.% alumina addition). The present work suggests that the use of insulating inclusions in the nanometer sub-scale can stabilize the flux-line lattice and greatly enhance the pinning capabilities of the infiltrated samples. No refinement of Y211 particles was observed with alumina addition. The Jc improvement by nanometer alumina inclusions is likely rendered to the insulating nano-pinning centers that have been successfully embedded into superconducting Y123 matrix. On the other hand, we examined the effect of the pinning centers size on the superconducting properties of infiltrated YBCO bulk samples. To this effect insulating nano-pinning centers with two different size distributions has been successfully incorporated within YBCO matrix of bulk superconductor by slightly doping with nano-particle alumina dispersions. Two alumina nano-particle dispersions with mean size diameters of about 20 nm and 130 nm were used. It was shown that the size of the pinning centers can affect considerably the Jc performances and the pinning mechanism.  相似文献

The degradation processes of YBa2Cu3O6.77(3) films 600 nm thick deposited on substrates from a textured (100) foil of the Ni-W alloy with the YSZ (Y2O3 + ZrO2) (100 nm) and CeO2 (50 nm) buffer layers at 200°C in air have been investigated. It has been shown that the degradation proceeds in the same manner as in the bulk ceramic materials with the same oxygen content, namely, initially the single-phase material with the orthorhombic structure laminates into the fractions depleted (the main fraction) and enriched with oxygen. After holding for more than 20 h, the oxygen-depleted fraction is first subjected to the structural phase transformation with the transition of the orthorhombic structure into the cubic one, which is associated with the redistribution of barium and yttrium atoms over their sites in the presence of water vapors.  相似文献

X-ray absorption spectroscopy has been used to probe the Cu environment of the new highT c YBa2Cu3O7– superconductor. Evidences of other valencies than two are found for copper. Besides Cu1+ which is localized on Cu1 sites when the unit cell is oxygendeficient, one invokes a ground state which merges bivalent 3d 9 to 3d 9 L configurations as proposed in a recent paper (L stands for a ligand hole in the CuO bond) very similar to that observed in many light rare earth oxides.  相似文献

Y1?xHoxBa2Cu3O7?δ (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5) thin films were prepared on LaAlO3 (0 0 1) substrates by trifluoroacetate metal organic deposition (TFA-MOD) without change of the processing parameters. The highest Jc was attributed to the sample of Y0.6Ho0.4Ba2Cu3O7?δ thin film, whose critical current density is about 1.6 times as compared to that of YBa2Cu3O7?δ thin film at 77 K and self field. The flux pinning type was not varied with Ho substitution and can be attributed to δl pinning model, which is attributed to the close ionic radius between the Y3+ and Ho3+ ions. The improvement of Jc by Ho substitution without change of the processing parameters will provide an effective route to enhance the Jc of YBCO-based thin films using TFA-MOD method.  相似文献

Muon spin rotation experiments were performed on the high Tc superconductor GdBa2Cu3O7−y in the temperature range from 30 mK to 130 K. Below 2.3 K, we observe in zero external field well defined muon spin precession showing clearly the presence of magnetic ordering in the sample. Two different frequencies could be distinguished which correspond to internal magnetic fields of 33 and 52 mT, respectively. Above 2.3 K up to about 10 K a fast depolarization of the muon spin is observed indicating the persistance of correlations among the Gd moments well above the Néel temperature.  相似文献

From XPS core level spectroscopy the average copper charge on the Cu sites in the high temperature superconductor Y1Ba2Cu3O7–x is determined as function of the oxygen vacancy concentrationx. Analysis of these data leads to the suggestion that there are holes on the oxygen sites in the basal plane of the crystal structure. The probability for holes on these oxygen ions is rather constant for 0x0.3 with a value of 0.64 and decreases to zero forx=0.5. The dependence of the superconducting transition temperature on the hole concentration is discussed. An energy level diagram for Cu2+ and Cu3+ in YBa2Cu3O7–x is constructed.  相似文献
