We study Lp decay estimates of the solution to the Cauchy problem for the dissipative wave equation in even dimensions: (□+?t)u=0 in ?N × (0,∞) for even N=2n?2 with initial data (u,?tu)∣t=0 =(u0,u1). The representation formulas of the solution u(t)=?tS(t)u0 + S(t)(u0+u1) provide the sharp estimates on Lp norms with p?1. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We show that the ‘directed diffusion equation’ with periodic boundary conditions has a unique weak solution u whenever b is measurable and bounded above and below by positive constants. Also, limt→∞u(t,x) in Lp, 1?p≤∞.  相似文献

Consider the Cauchy problem in odd dimensions for the dissipative wave equation: (□+∂t)u=0 in with (u,∂tu)|t=0=(u0,u1). Because the L2 estimates and the L estimates of the solution u(t) are well known, in this paper we pay attention to the Lp estimates with 1p<2 (in particular, p=1) of the solution u(t) for t0. In order to derive Lp estimates we first give the representation formulas of the solution u(t)=∂tS(t)u0+S(t)(u0+u1) and then we directly estimate the exact solution S(t)g and its derivative ∂tS(t)g of the dissipative wave equation with the initial data (u0,u1)=(0,g). In particular, when p=1 and n1, we get the L1 estimate: u(t)L1Cet/4(u0Wn,1+u1Wn−1,1)+C(u0L1+u1L1) for t0.  相似文献

Let (L,[p]) a finite dimensional nilpotent restricted Lie algebra of characteristic p 3 3, c ? L*p \geq 3, \chi \in L^* a linear form. In this paper we study the representation theory of the reduced universal enveloping algebra u(L,c)u(L,\chi ). It is shown that u(L,c)u(L,\chi ) does not admit blocks of tame representation type. As an application, we prove that the nonregular AR-components of u(L,c)u(L,\chi ) are of types \Bbb Z [A ]\Bbb Z [A_\infty ] or \Bbb Z [An]/(t)\Bbb Z [A_n]/(\tau ).  相似文献

We consider the Navier-Stokes system describing motions of viscous compressible heat-conducting and “self-gravitating” media. We use the state function of the form p(u,θ)=p0(u)+p1(u)θ linear with respect to the temperature θ, but we admit rather general nonmonotone functions p0 and p1 of u, which allows us to treat various physical models of nuclear fluids (for which p and u are the pressure and the specific volume) or thermoviscoelastic solids. For solutions to an associated initial-boundary value problem with “fixed-free” boundary conditions and arbitrarily large data, we prove a collection of estimates independent of time interval, including uniform two-sided bounds for u, and describe asymptotic behavior as t→∞. Namely, we establish the stabilization pointwisely and in Lq for u, in L2 for θ, and in Lq for v (the velocity), for any q∈[2,∞). For completeness, the proof of the corresponding global existence theorem is also included.  相似文献

We consider solutions of the singular diffusion equation t, = (um?1 ux)x, m ≦ 0, associated with the flux boundary condition limx→?∞ (um?1ux)x = λ > 0. The evolutions defined by this problem depend on both m and λ. We prove existence and stability of traveling wave solutions, parameterized by λ. Each traveling wave is stable in its appropriate evolution. These traveling waves are in L1 for ?1 < m ≦ 0, but have non-integrable tails for m ≦ ?1. We also show that these traveling waves are the same as those for the scalar conservation law ut = ?[f(u)]x + uxx for a particular nonlinear convection term f(u) = f(u;m, λ). © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

We study the initial-boundary value problem for ?t2u(t,x)+A(t)u(t,x)+B(t)?tu(t,x)=f(t,x) on [0,T]×Ω(Ω??n) with a homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition; here A(t) denotes a family of uniformly strongly elliptic operators of order 2m, B(t) denotes a family of spatial differential operators of order less than or equal to m, and u is a scalar function. We prove the existence of a unique strong solution u. Furthermore, an energy estimate for u is given.  相似文献

We show that the supremum norm of solutions with small initial data of the generalized Benjamin-Bona-Mahony equation ut-△ut=(b,▽u)+up(a,▽u)in x?Rn,n≥2, with integer p≥3 , decays to zero like t-2/3 if n=2 and like t-1+6, for any δ0, if n≥3, when t tends to infinity. The proofs of these results are based on an analysis of the linear equation ut-△=(b,▽u)) and the associated oscillatory integral which may have nonisolated stationary points of the phase function.  相似文献

This paper deals with the higher-order Kirchhoff-type equation with nonlinear dissipationutt+(Ω׀Dmu׀2dx)q(−Δ)mu+ut׀ut׀ru׀pu,xΩ,t>0,in a bounded domain, where m < 1 is a positive integer, q, p, r < 0 arepositive constants. We obtain that the solution exists globally if pr, while ifp > max r, 2q , then for any initial data with negative initial energy, the solution blowsup at finite time in Lp+2 norm.  相似文献

We present a global existence theorem for solutions of utt ? ?iaik (x)?ku + ut = ?(t, x, u, ut, ?u, ?ut, ?2u), u(t = 0) = u0, u(=0)=u1, u(t, x), t ? 0, x?Ω.Ω equals ?3 or Ω is an exterior domain in ?3 with smoothly bounded star-shaped complement. In the latter case the boundary condition u| = 0 will be studied. The main theorem is obtained for small data (u0, u1) under certain conditions on the coefficients aik. The Lp - Lq decay rates of solutions of the linearized problem, based on a previously introduced generalized eigenfunction expansion ansatz, are used to derive the necessary a priori estimates.  相似文献

In this article, the authors establish the conditions for the extinction of solutions, in finite time, of the fast diffusive polytropic filtration equation u t ?=?div(|?u m | p?2?u m )?+?aΩ u q (y,?t)dy with a, q, m?>?0, p?>?1, m(p???1)?R N (N?>?2). More precisely speaking, it is shown that if q?>?m(p???1), any non-negative solution with small initial data vanishes in finite time, and if 0?q?m(p???1), there exists a solution which is positive in Ω for all t?>?0. For the critical case q?=?m(p???1), whether the solutions vanish in finite time or not depends on the comparison between a and μ, where μ?=?∫?Ωφ p?1(x)dx and φ is the unique positive solution of the elliptic problem ?div(|?φ| p?2?φ)?=?1, x?∈?Ω; φ(x)?=?0, x?∈??Ω.  相似文献

The large time behaviour of the Lq L^q -norm of nonnegative solutions to the "anisotropic" viscous Hamilton-Jacobi equation¶¶ ut - Du + ?i=1m |uxi|pi = 0      in   \mathbbR+×\mathbbRN,u_t - \Delta u + \sum_{i=1}^m \vert u_{x_i}\vert^{p_i} = 0 \;\;\mbox{ in }\; {\mathbb{R}}_+\times{\mathbb{R}}^N,¶¶is studied for q=1 q=1 and q=¥ q=\infty , where m ? {1,?,N} m\in\{1,\ldots,N\} and pi ? [1,+¥) p_i\in [1,+\infty) for i ? {1,?,m} i\in\{1,\ldots,m\} . The limit of the L1 L^1 -norm is identified, and temporal decay estimates for the L L^\infty -norm are obtained, according to the values of the pi p_i 's. The main tool in our approach is the derivation of L L^\infty -decay estimates for ?(ua ), a ? (0,1] \nabla\left(u^\alpha \right), \alpha\in (0,1] , by a Bernstein technique inspired by the ones developed by Bénilan for the porous medium equation.  相似文献

We consider the linearized thermoelastic plate equation with the Dirichlet boundary condition in a general domain Ω, given by with the initial condition u|(t=0)=u0, ut|(t=0)=u1, and θ|(t=0)=θ0 in Ω and the boundary condition u=νu=θ=0 on Γ, where u=u(x,t) denotes a vertical displacement at time t at the point x=(x1,⋯,xn)∈Ω, while θ=θ(x,t) describes the temperature. This work extends the result obtained by Naito and Shibata that studied the problem in the half‐space case. We prove the existence of ‐bounded solution operators of the corresponding resolvent problem. Then, the generation of C0 analytic semigroup and the maximal LpLq‐regularity of time‐dependent problem are derived.  相似文献

We consider the equation (?1)m?m (p?mu) + ?u = ? in ?n × [0, ∞] for arbitrary positive integers m and n and under the assumptions p ?1, ? ? C and p > 0. Under the additional assumption that the differential operator (?1)m?m (p?mu) has no eigenvalues we derive an asymptotic expansion for u(x,t) as t → including all terms up to order o(1). In particular, we show that for 2mn terms of the orders tα, log t, (log t)2 and tβ·log t as t → ∞ may occur.  相似文献

In this paper we study the maximal regularity property for non-autonomous evolution equations tu(t)+A(t)u(t)=f(t), u(0)=0. If the equation is considered on a Hilbert space H and the operators A(t) are defined by sesquilinear forms a(t,⋅,⋅) we prove the maximal regularity under a Hölder continuity assumption of ta(t,⋅,⋅). In the non-Hilbert space situation we focus on Schrödinger type operators A(t):=−Δ+m(t,⋅) and prove LpLq estimates for a wide class of time and space dependent potentials m.  相似文献

Let Atf(x) denote the mean of f over a sphere of radius t and center x. We prove sharp estimates for the maximal function ME f(X) = suptE |Atf(x)| where E is a fixed set in IR+ and f is a radial function ∈ Lp(IRd). Let Pd = d/(d?1) (the critical exponent for Stein's maximal function). For the cases (i) p < pd, d ? 2, and (ii) p = pd, d ? 3, and for p ? q ? ∞ we prove necessary and sufficient conditions on E for ME to map radial functions in Lp to the Lorentz space LP,q.  相似文献

We consider a Sturm – Liouville operator Lu = —(r(t)u′)′ + p (t)u , where r is a (strictly) positive continuous function on ]a, b [ and p is locally integrable on ]a, b[. Let r1(t) = (1/r) ds andchoose any c ∈]a, b[. We are interested in the eigenvalue problem Lu = λm(t)u, u (a) = u (b) = 0,and the corresponding maximal and anti .maximal principles, in the situation when 1/rL1 (a, c),1 /rL1 (c, b), pr1L1 (a, c) and pr1L1(c, b).  相似文献

We give new finite time blow-up results for the non-linear parabolic equations ut−Δu = up and ut−Δu+μ∣∇uq = up. We first establish an a priori bound in Lp+1 for the positive non-decreasing global solutions. As a consequence, we prove in particular that for the second equation on ℝN, with q = 2p/(p+1) and small μ>0, blow-up can occur for any N≥1, p>1, (N−2)p<N+2 and without energy restriction on the initial data. Incidentally, we present a simple model in population dynamics involving this equation.  相似文献

We consider the equation (?1)m?m (p?mu) + ?u = ? in ?n × (0, ∞) for arbitrary positive integers m and n and under the assumptions p ? 1, ? ? C(?n) and p > 0. Even if the differential operator (?1)m?m (p?mu) has no eigenvalues, the solution u(x,t) may increase as t → ∞ for 2mn. For this case, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for the convergence of u(x,t) as t → ∞. Furthermore, we characterize the functions occurring in these conditions as solutions of the homogeneous static equation (?1)m?m (p?mu) = 0, which satisfy appropriate asymptotic conditions at infinity. We also give an asymptotic characterization of the static limit.  相似文献
