FP-RINGS
《代数通讯》2013,41(1):415-425
A ring R is called right FP-injective if every R-homomor-phism from a finitely generated submodule of a free right R-module F into R extends to F. In this paper a ring R will be called a right FP-ring if R is semiperfect, right FP-injective and has an essential right socle. The class of FP-rings strictly contains the class of right (and left) pseudo-Frobenius rings, and we show that it is right-left symmetric and Morita-invariant. As an application we show that if R is a left perfect right FP-injective ring, then R is quasi-Frobenius if and only if the second right socle of R is finitely generated as a right ideal of R. This extends the known results in the right selfinjective case.  相似文献

A right module M over a ring R is said to be retractable if Hom R (M, N) ≠ 0 for each nonzero submodule N of M. We show that M ? R RG is a retractable RG-module if and only if M R is retractable for every finite group G. The ring R is (finitely) mod-retractable if every (finitely generated) right R-module is retractable. Some comparisons between max rings, semiartinian rings, perfect rings, noetherian rings, nonsingular rings, and mod-retractable rings are investigated. In particular, we prove ring-theoretical criteria of right mod-retractability for classes of all commutative, left perfect, and right noetherian rings.  相似文献

A ring R is called left GP-injective if for any 0 ≠ a ∈ R, there exists n > 0 such that a n  ≠ 0 and a n R = r(l(a n )). It is proved that (1) every right Noetherian left GP-injective ring such that every complement left ideal is a left annihilator is a QF ring, (2) every left GP-injective ring with ACC on left annihilators such that every complement left ideal is a left annihilator is a QF ring, and (3) every left P-injective left CS ring satisfying ACC on essential right ideals is a QF ring. Several well-known results on QF rings are obtained as corollaries.  相似文献

We characterize right Noetherian rings over which all simple modules are almost injective. It is proved that R is such a ring, if and only if, the complements of semisimple submodules of every R-module M are direct summands of M, if and only if, R is a finite direct sum of right ideals Ir, where Ir is either a Noetherian V-module with zero socle, or a simple module, or an injective module of length 2. A commutative Noetherian ring for which all simple modules are almost injective is precisely a finite direct product of rings Ri, where Ri is either a field or a quasi-Frobenius ring of length 2. We show that for commutative rings whose all simple modules are almost injective, the properties of Kasch, (semi)perfect, semilocal, quasi-Frobenius, Artinian, and Noetherian coincide.  相似文献

Let R be a ring. An R-module M is finitely annihilated if the annihilator of M is the annihilator of a finite subset of M. It is proved that if R has right socle S then the ring R/S is right Artinian if and only if every singular right R-module is finitely annihilated. Moreover, a right Noetherian ring R is right Artinian if and only if every uniform right R-module is finitely annihilated. In addition, a (right and left) Noetherian ring is (right and left) Artinian if and only if every injective right R-module is finitely annihilated. Let R be a left artinian ring such that every finitely presented right .ft-module is of finite endolength. It is shown that the cardinality of the set of isomorphism classes of preinjective right R-modules is less than or equal to the cardinality of the set of isomorphism classes of preprojective left R-modules, and R is of finite representation type if and only if these cardinal numbers are finite and equal to each other. As a consequence, we deduce a theorem, due to Herzog [17], asserting that a left pure semisimple ring R is of finite representation type if and only if the number of non-isomorphic preinjective right R-modules is the same as the number of non-isomorphic preprojective left .R-modules. Further applications are also given to provide new criteria for artinian rings with self-duality and artinian Pi-rings to be of finite representation type, which imply in particular the validity of the pure semisimple conjecture for these classes of rings.  相似文献

Let R be a ring. We prove that every right CF ring is right artinian under the left perfect or strongly right C2 condition. We also show that a right noetherian, left P-injective, left CS-ring is QF.  相似文献

In this article, we study the characterizations of Gorenstein injective left S-modules and finitely generated Gorenstein projective left R-modules when there is a dualizing S-R-bimodule associated with a right noetherian ring R and a left noetherian ring S.  相似文献

A ring R is called right weakly continuous if the right annihilator of each element is essential in a summand of R, and R satisfies the right C2-condition (every right ideal that is isomorphic to a direct summand of R is itself a direct summand). We show that a ring R is right weakly continuous if and only if it is semiregular and J(R) = Z(R R ). Unlike right continuous rings, these right weakly continuous rings form a Morita invariant class. The rings satisfying the right C2-condition are studied and used to investigate two conjectures about strongly right Johns rings and right FGF-rings and their relation to quasi-Frobenius rings.  相似文献

Abstract

A commutative ring R is said to satisfy property (P) if every finitely generated proper ideal of R admits a non-zero annihilator. In this paper we give some necessary and sufficient conditions that a ring satisfies property (P). In particular, we characterize coherent rings, noetherian rings and Π-coherent rings with property (P).  相似文献

A ring R is called right Johns if R is right noetherian and every right ideal of R is a right annihilator. R is called strongly right Johns if the matrix ring M n (R) is right Johns for each integer n ≥ 1. The Faith–Menal conjecture is an open conjecture on QF rings. It says that every strongly right Johns ring is QF. It is proved that the conjecture is true if every closed left ideal of the ring R is finitely generated. This result improves the known result that the conjecture is true if R is a left CS ring.  相似文献

We observe that every non-commutative unital ring has at least three maximal commutative subrings. In particular, non-commutative rings (resp., finite non-commutative rings) in which there are exactly three (resp., four) maximal commutative subrings are characterized. If R has acc or dcc on its commutative subrings containing the center, whose intersection with the nontrivial summands is trivial, then R is Dedekind-finite. It is observed that every Artinian commutative ring R, is a finite intersection of some Artinian commutative subrings of a non-commutative ring, in each of which, R is a maximal subring. The intersection of maximal ideals of all the maximal commutative subrings in a non-commutative local ring R, is a maximal ideal in the center of R. A ring R with no nontrivial idempotents, is either a division ring or a right ue-ring (i.e., a ring with a unique proper essential right ideal) if and only if every maximal commutative subring of R is either a field or a ue-ring whose socle is the contraction of that of R. It is proved that a maximal commutative subring of a duo ue-ring with finite uniform dimension is a finite direct product of rings, all of which are fields, except possibly one, which is a local ring whose unique maximal ideal is of square zero. Analogues of Jordan-Hölder Theorem (resp., of the existence of the Loewy chain for Artinian modules) is proved for rings with acc and dcc (resp., with dcc) on commutative subrings containing the center. A semiprime ring R has only finitely many maximal commutative subrings if and only if R has a maximal commutative subring of finite index. Infinite prime rings have infinitely many maximal commutative subrings.  相似文献

Let R be an associative ring with identity. A unital right R-module M is called “strongly finite dimensional” if Sup{G.dim (M/N) | N ≤ M} < +∞, where G.dim denotes the Goldie dimension of a module. Properties of strongly finite dimensional modules are explored. It is also proved that: (1) If R is left F-injective and semilocal, then R is left finite dimensional. (2) R is right artinian if and only if R is right strongly finite dimensional and right semiartinian. Some known results are obtained as corollaries.  相似文献

Let R be a ring and G a group. An R-module A is said to be minimax if A includes a noetherian submodule B such that A/B is artinian. The authors study a ?G-module A such that A/C A (H) is minimax (as a ?-module) for every proper not finitely generated subgroup H.  相似文献

LetR be a prime P.I. ring, finitely generated over a central noetherian subring. LetP be a height one prime ideal inR. We establish a finite criteria for the left (right) Ore localizability ofP, providedP/P 2 is left (right) finitely generated. This replaces the noetherian assumption onR appearing in [BW], using an entirely different technique.  相似文献

Let R be an associated ring not necessarily with identity, M a left R-module having the property (F), and (S, ≤) a strictly totally ordered monoid which is also artinian and finitely generated. It is shown that the module [M S,≤] consisting of generalized inverse polynomials over M is an artinian left [[R S,≤]]-module if and only if M is an artinian left R-module.  相似文献

A ringR is left co-semihereditary (strongly left co-semihereditary) if every finitely cogenerated factor of a finitely cogenerated (arbitrary) injective leftR-module is injective. A left co-semihereditary ring, which is not strongly left co-semihereditary, is given to answer a question of Miller and Tumidge in the negative. If R U S defines a Morita duality,R is proved to be left co-semihereditary (left semihereditmy) if and only ifS is right semihereditary (right co-semihereditary). Assuming thatS⩾R is an almost excellent extension,S is shown to be (strongly) right co-semihereditary if and only ifR is (strongly) right co-semihereditary. Rickart Modules
The concept of right Rickart rings (or right p.p. rings) has been extensively studied in the literature. In this article, we study the notion of Rickart modules in the general module theoretic setting by utilizing the endomorphism ring of a module. We provide several characterizations of Rickart modules and study their properties. It is shown that the class of rings R for which every right R-module is Rickart is precisely that of semisimple artinian rings, while the class of rings R for which every free R-module is Rickart is precisely that of right hereditary rings. Connections between a Rickart module and its endomorphism ring are studied. A characterization of precisely when the endomorphism ring of a Rickart module will be a right Rickart ring is provided. We prove that a Rickart module with no infinite set of nonzero orthogonal idempotents in its endomorphism ring is precisely a Baer module. We show that a finitely generated module over a principal ideal domain (PID) is Rickart exactly if it is either semisimple or torsion-free. Examples which delineate the concepts and results are provided.  相似文献
